Today is DAY SIX: Book Recommendations for the #BAWritingLife challenge! . Disclosure: The last two books I read are dark non-fiction but incredibly moving if you can get through them... . # 1. I’ll Be Gone In the Dark by Michelle McNamara 📖 . Michelle’s voice is one that captivates you, even when she’s describing heinous crime scenes crafted by the depravity of one man. It follows the footsteps of the Golden State Killer who poured terror into the hearts of thousands in California in the 70s. I admittedly read this book *after* the announcement that the Golden State Killer has been captured, so there was a sense of closure that, unfortunately, Michelle did not get the opportunity to experience. . # 2. A Mother’s Reckoning by Sue Klebold 📖 . This book is gut wrenching. As a parent it is eye opening and raw. This is a book that I truly believe everyone should read, regardless of whether they have children. It recounts Sue’s personal journey starting with the years leading up to Columbine, the heart stopping minutes when all hell was breaking loose and the unfathomable moments afterwards. It shows the humanity that Dylan had and gives insight to how invisible mental illness can truly be to those around them. . Don’t worry!
