If you had to rank your top 5 favorite musicals, what would you choose?
Oh shit! These change pretty often but right now? Uh
LIZZIE. What else would we expect. Lizzie is eternal this one never changes. It’s such a unique sound for a musical and it’s so much fun to listen to
Murder Ballad, I think? I love it sm I listen to it like every day now everyone should listen to murder ballad.
In the Green (?) I got really into it today with that new production announcement haha. I also might be buying the script at some point so I’m very hyped!!
Ooh uh… Don’t Stop Me. I don’t listen to it as often cause there’s no official cast recording (😭) but it lives in my brain 24/7 and the songs are very very fun to sing
I was struggling to choose between 36 Questions and Ghost Quartet for this but actually?? It’s The Wild Party (the off-Broadway one). I love a jazz musical and almost all the songs are absolute hits. Ofc I still love the other two I’ve mentioned but the amount of animatics for TWP that live in my head? Incalculable.

I had two pretty distinct friend groups in High School and like… the concept of me going to aguefort and having to CHOOSE which one i want to be in an Adventuring party with?
It gave me a stress ulcer and it will literally never happen lmao. I just gotta wonder how isolating it is for “this is your party and by consequence the people you will constantly be hanging out with”
give me your high school party comp in the tags

New York City Center 2024/2025 Season:
Annual Gala Presentation
RAGTIME - Oct 30 – Nov 10, 2024
RAGTIME is a sweeping, powerful musical with music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Terrence McNally that follows three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the turn of the 20th century.
This gala production is led by Tony-nominated Encores! Artistic Director Lear deBessonet and features Joshua Henry (Coalhouse Walker Jr.), Caissie Levy (Mother), and Brandon Uranowitz (Tateh).
Encores!
URINETOWN - Feb 5 – 16, 2025
In this side-splitting satire directed by Teddy Bergman (KPOP), a young hero fights to create change in a dystopian world where water is scarce and “Hope” is even scarcer. This three-time Tony-winning musical by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis breaks the fourth wall to examine humanity’s darkest dilemmas, all while being “audacious and exhilarating” (The New York Times).
LOVE LIFE - Mar 26 – 30, 2025
LOVE LIFE the only collaboration between Kurt Weill and Alan Jay Lerner, depicts a love story that takes place over 200 years of American history, through the eyes of a family who never ages. This rarely staged production directed by Tony winner Victoria Clark (KIMBERLY AKIMBO) is considered by some to be the first concept musical, an inspiration for musical theater favorites such as CABARET, CHICAGO, and COMPANY.
THE WILD PARTY - Apr 30 – May 11, 2025
Directed by Saheem Ali (FAT HAM), THE WILD PARTY is a jazz-age tragedy about a gin-soaked party. What happens when a night of debauchery leads to a morning of sobering truths? Michael John LaChiusa (THE GARDENS OF ANUNCIA) and George C. Wolfe (JELLY’S LAST JAM) bring Joseph Moncure March’s notorious narrative poem to life in their “dangerous, seedy, fantastic” (The Observer) musical adaptation.

Theater is wild because you’ll find an extremely passionate and evocative song and when you look up the musical it’s from the description includes the phrase “in a relationship with an abusive vaudeville clown” so you look up images from the musical and yup sure is

The nature of listening to The Juggernaut with headphones in is such that you will get randomly Jumpscared by a man screaming GIVE IT TO ME QUEENIE directly into your left ear. And that’s ok.
