The thing I found most interesting was the origin of the name:

“The Ladder’s mailing list was an attempt to formalise the whisper network. Over sixteen years, the Ladder’s editors and contributors grappled with the tensions between the demands of privacy and security, and the desire to build a national lesbian literary community.” (x)

“The magazine was “a means of expressing and sharing otherwise private thoughts and feelings, of connecting across miles and disparate daily lives, of breaking through isolation and fear.” (x)

The magazine was written 1950s through 1972 and the writing very much reflects that. Most of the issues are the sharing of thoughts on social issues, interests, literature and poems.

it does really frustrate me that the climate of One Specific Fandom got me so concerned about catching flak for being into dark themes and fic dealing with them—when those themes are VERY MUCH present in the source media—that i don't feel secure leaving anon on, even though it's such a big element of feeling like i'm part of a community on here

My interpretation of otgw and my theories

●First of all im pretty sure most people know that it is supposed to be like Dante's inferno

Wirt (and Greg) are Dante

Sara is Beatrice

Ironically Beatrice is closest to virgil.

● I at least like to believe that the unknown is real and I have a couple of actual reasons why aside from just wanting it to be real

One we see what happened to the characters from the unknown Beatrice, the woodsman, auntie whispers,ect

Two Jason funderburker glows because of the bell

Three we see endicott's grave (which I will bring up again later).

● the unknown is either purgatory or hell maybe a little bit of both.

● this is less of a theory and more of an au that I thought of that I haven't seen anyone else talk about or think of

Beatrice's family and the corduroy family are related. That's it that's the whole idea.

● I like the theory of everyone in the unknown being dead

Like I said we see endicott's grave in episode 9 (which also makes that whole "so you're not a ghost" thing wrong at least a little)

Also like I said the unknown is either purgatory or hell probably a combination of the two so it would make sense for everyone to be dead

And we literally see living skeletons so yeah

While the Somerton stuff is bringing attention to questioning leftist youtubers, some people have come out about sexual abuse allegations against certain leftubers and a few of their friends enabling them. The ones I've seen mentioned are Sophie From Mars, We're In Hell, Chill Goblin, and HeyIt'sVadim. If anyone else has been accused or defending them, I haven't seen it as of combing through twitter just now.
