I won a pretty unassuming lot of furoku off y!a, for less than 2500 yen, because there was an ikeno illustration in it that I'd been looking for, and it turned out to be a treasure trove of adorable early 80s furoku :D ogura fuyumi and hagiiwa mutsumi and oda sora furoku that I've seen listed on mercari for 2000-4000 yen each, a lot of it mint! I also won a ribon supplementary issue with ririka art for 1 yen, haha, and it's pretty beaten up but that means I can pull it apart and scan some cute art, so that was a good find too. this will be my last haul for a while... need to be thrifty to make my money last while I'm out of a job :) and, of course, to have a bit of spare cash to spend in japan at the tokimeki exhibit. I want ALL the random draw acrylic stands, dammit.
I'll be making a furoku sale post probably this weekend, please check it out if that's something you're into. I received a lot of unexpected doublets in this haul so there'll be quite a few things I'm selling, for cheap. also, I've decided to cull my collection a bit, chiefly of chibi maruko-chan stuff. I'm trying to balance my collection at 1000 items, because if I never get rid of anything my collection will overflow and take over my life. (I know 1000 items sounds like a lot, but you need to keep in mind a lot of it is tiny stickers or sheets of paper. but still.)

Hi!! I’m a big tama collector (I’m also lazy so I haven’t gotten around to documenting them online lol) and I’m going to Japan in April, Tokyo/Chiba area. Where can I go to buy tamas? Are there places I could go for old/used ones? Thanks!
You're not lazy for not posting them online! There's more than one way to enjoy a collection :)
Now, to answer your question about Tokyo Tama-shopping...
To get the most recent Tamagotchi (currently the Smart), you'll want to hit a toy specialty or electronics shop, specifically:
Kiddy Land in Harajuku/Omotesando
Hakuhinkan Toy Park in Ginza
Yodobashi Camera (multiple branches: Akihabara, Shinjuku, Yokohama are my personal recommendations)
Bic Camera (multiple branches)
Toys R Us in Sunshine City Ikebukuro, Odaiba, or your local Aeon shopping mall
I want to stress that you only really need to hit one of these shops...they will all have basically the same product selection (stock not permitting). Aside from Toys R Us I'm fairly confident these retailers offer tax-free sales for international visitors, so bring your passport!
But, you say, I want classic Tamas! (Don't we all!) I will say these are trickier to find, as most sales are online via Mercari and Yahoo Auctions. As these are individual sellers I don't recommend trying to time an order to ship to your hotel! So where can you go instead?
Robot Robot+ inside Akihabara Radio Kaikan: P1, P2, Morino, Angel, sometimes Umino, Osutchi/Mesutchi, some Digimon. Premium pricing.
Nakano Broadway: The ultimate treasure hunt. There used to be a shop right across from Mandarake's manga shop on the first floor that had Osutchi /Mesutchi, but I don't know if it survived the pandemic. Individual showcases and a 90s themed branch on one of the higher levels is probably your best shot. Absolutely not guaranteed though!
Hard Off, Hobby Off: Usually in suburbs or more rural areas. Check the toy and video game sections...but the probability of finding a VPet is any kind is extremely low!
Hope that helps! Safe travels and happy hunting!!

Girl you are so lucky for getting littlest pet shops!! I can't find them anywhere in my stores!! Their so cute!!
Tumblr media
Hasbro stopped producing g2 lps (the ones we grew up with) in 2012 when they made a horrendous decision to switch the lps to match the tv shows staring Blythe (which was a total fail btw)
And then they tried to revamp them once again (idk what year at this point, I wasn’t collecting by then) by having their faces KIND OF like the g1/g2 pets however, their bodies were still closer to the g3 ones. Because of this, people still were not happy and decided to stop buying them. I believe 2017 was when they stopped production on them (I could be wrong, please don’t call me out).
In 2021/2022 there were rumors that the toy brand basicfun! (Known for making old nostalgic toys) would be taking over the lps brand. Update: a few countries have already gotten the new lps. New lps (which look like g1/g2, the ones we grew up with) you can preorder a couple sets on am*zon now (unless they’re sold out, I know a few were last I checked). The new ones should be set to release in the us in stores starting January of 2024 (I can’t remember the exact date)
As for the older ones: I saw g4 lps (when they tried revamping the line again after the horrendous release of g3) at the dollar store the other day LMFKDKF. Other good places to check would be: thrift stores, kids consignment shops, garage sales. Of course you can also check online (eBay, mercari, etc) to find some (if you do, MAKE SURE THEYRE NOT FAKE LPS)
I’m a toddler teacher so I’m constantly at kids consignment shops (once upon a child for example) and I’ve seen lps there (I also do this for my ag doll collection) I still kick myself for not grabbing a pack of lps I saw a couple years ago (with the iconic Brooklyn Hayes in it might I add)
I did get my hands on one of those teeniest tiniest lps sets almost a year ago that I still treasure to this day.
I did not mean to go on a tangent but y’all know me, something interests me, I can talk about it for ages (especially anything nostalgic related)

do you have any advice on how to get the wmmap paper dolls books? or is itsuper exclusive merch? sorry for asking i'm just super curious!
Currently the only way of buying the paper doll book is finding it being sold on a second-hand shopping site. When KW Books' (Carrotoon's parent company) official store had just launched, they put some leftover stock of wmmap's limited editions up for sale. I guess that could happen again, but 1. Going by their wording, it seemed like a "just this one time" type of deal; and 2. You would have to buy volume 3's limited edition, which could be way more expensive than buying the piece of merch individually. Also, wmmap's volumes got sold out in like, a couple of hours.
Anyways, the fastest and safest way of buying any rare merch is keeping an eye on reseller sites. I'm not too sure about the korean scene, since I use japanese sites. My go-to site is Mercari, but there's also Suruga-ya, Yahoo! Auctions, Ebay, etc. I recommend Mercari because it's easy to use with proxy companies that help you out with the buying process, such as Buyee (probably the easiest one to use? but there are others like Zenmarket, Treasure Japan, etc. I can vouch for Treasure Japan and Buyee since I've used them several times). I have seen korean and japanese fans selling the paper doll book on Twitter once or twice, but the person most likely won't ship internationally (I asked lmao).
TL;DR: 1. Search for wmmap on reseller sites (using its japanese, korean, chinese, etc., spelling depending on the site you use). The paper doll book is super rare, but I have seen it a bunch of times, so eventually it should reappear; 2. If you can't buy it directly, use a proxy company as middleman (Buyee is pretty reliable, but depending on your country there might be better options from local stores). That's it!
As for prices, it honestly depends on your luck. Sometimes you'll find second-hand merch at pretty fair prices (for books I think anything around $20 USD is worth it, but this heavily depends on your currency's exchange rate), and other times people will ask for a crazy amount of money. Merch that has been opened, used or that has any type of damage will always be cheaper, so sometimes it's best to buy "not perfect" merch. My advice is to also consider the shipping cost and possible import taxes before making any purchases.
Oh, also, I don't recommend buying from Etsy resellers. They always overcharge way too much and I've heard many cases of people not receiving everything they had bought from them.
Wow, that was a long answer...

Hey there! I hope I'm not intruding but I'm a huge merch collector myself so I figured I could give you some suggestions for places where you might find some stuff! I usually use a proxy (I recommend From Japan for Yahoo Auctions and Treasure Japan for Mercari) but I've also used a site called Goods Republic! Suruga-ya also has an English website where you can buy stuff directly from them, but the stock isn't the same as the Japanese site. Aside from that, I usually pre-order newer merch when I can from AmiAmi or HobbySearch or Animate International oooor Amazon.jp if they have it 😊
omg thank you so much for this!! you're a life saver (*´꒳`*) <3
i've had some friends recommending from japan too and i'm so tempted to give it a try,, i don't know if i mentioned it here but i'm super into otome games and aaaa there are so many goods i'd love to get there too,, so many crushes <3
now i only need to save up a lot! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

Do you live in Japan or did you just order your haul online? Either way great purchases! :D
I order merch online ^^
I got my most recent haul from Surugaya and Mercari (both of which offer some quite good deals on second hand goods; Surugaya is particularly good for second hand CDs while Mercari is better for getting items from recent lotteries/merch lines) using the proxy service Treasure Japan (which I would really recommend as they're super quick to respond).
If you're interested in ordering stuff from Japan I'd really recommend checking out @raburabusama's Proxy Shopping Guide, which is really helpful for finding good places to order DL merch and gives some guidance on which proxy service you might want to use.
And thank you anon! I hope you have a lovely day :)

Hey, I wanted to ask where you got your Diabolik Lovers merch from. I have already found a lot on ebay, but not what I would like to have. 🙈 Do you know a site where you can get something from? But it would be good if it wasn't in Japanese. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 and stay healthy😘
I have bought merch through two proxy shopping services:
a) From Japan (most used) to buy some sites such as Skit Dolce, Surugaya, Rakuten as well as Yahoo! Auctions
b) Treasure Japan to buy from the popular Japanese flea market website, Mercari. This website has a ton of DL merch and sometimes you can find stuff really cheap second-hand, but you have to be quick!
Since none of the original websites support international shipping, you are forced to use one of these proxy services. They are located within Japan and will purchase the item for you and store it in their warehouse for approximately one month.
Downside to this is that the payment gets split up and first you pay for the item alone, before all the shipping and commission fees get added on later in the second payment. This can give somewhat of a skewed image of how expensive the item truly is, so be careful when buying items from a lot of different websites/sellers because the domestic shipping & commissions can really add up!
If you want more information, I suggest checking out @raburabusama’s proxy shopping guide which they have linked on their blog! ^^
Best of luck!

To list or not to list? Vintage Frye Boots, Size 11 ❣ It's been months since I sold online! I want this to be my last Hoorah for this chapter of my life because I am (finally) heading back to Israel in a little over a month and there is NO Poshmark or Mercari in Israel. There is Ebay... I loathe Ebay selling. Another thing, in America its much easier to grow my inventory via estate sales, yard sales, thrift shops and so on. In Israel they don't do yard sales. If you find 2nd hand treasures it's bound to cost a fortune, leaving zero room for profit. Estate sales? Nope, not that I have heard of❣ You'll probably see my ass slinging dead sea products...😥🤣 I do want to continue selling online, but I want to sell my own jewelry and art, and perhaps do consignment for other jewelry artists. Btw, if you want to work with me, want me to sell your stuff, DM.🙌🌻💯 #fryeboots #vintage #vintagefrye #fryeordie #bootlover #bootstagram #buttersoft #tallboots #sexyboots #fallstyle #passion4fashion #listing #soon #poshmarklisting #poshmarkambassador #poshmarkfriends #poshmarkcommunity #sharingiscaring #missedyou #poshmarkboutique #poshmarklife #onelove #passion4fashion #vintagefashion #stylist #love #openingsoon #comingsoon #shopwithme #missniahog #fallstyle https://www.instagram.com/p/CUdPQ5QFmng/?utm_medium=tumblr

So in this video called Kalafina History~10th anniversary celebration by けこ on YouTube and at about 2:45, there is a clip of a live where they're wearing what looks like kalafina shirts and skirts and Wakana finishes a note and her and Hikaru go running past a very confused looking Keiko and I was wondering if you knew which live that was from and where I could find it? Also, is there any kalafina merch (shirts, sweatshirts and such) that is currently for sale and not like $10000? Thank you!
Tumblr media
Okay… you literally sent this ask a few hours after I replied to a question that was VERY similar to yours.
Tumblr media
People, PLEASE take the time to check out my blog for a few minutes before sending an ask. My REPLY tag is filled with lots of treasures, you will not regret it, I promise!
Either way, what you are looking for is the encore part of 「Kalafina LIVE 2010 “Red Moon”」.
HERE’s my masterpost with Google Drive links to ALL of Kalafina’s official live releases which includes a 6 GB as well as a 14 GB version of 「Kalafina LIVE 2010 “Red Moon” at JCB HALL ~ Kajiura Produce 3rd Anniversary LIVE TOUR」. Please enjoy!
As for your other question, you can actually find quite a lot of reasonably priced Kalafina merch (including t-shirts) on second-hand websites these days. I recommend Suruga-ya and Mercari. HERE’s my slightly out-dated but still useful guide on how to get your hands on Kalafina goods.

shopping responsibly
this is a sequel to my other post about alternatives to throwing things away. that post detailed some ways to reduce your waste, but the production, shipping, handling & transportation of new items can also be extremely wasteful & push costs up. obviously there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism & you aren’t a bad person for being unable to “shop ethically,” but some of these ideas can help with personal consumption. here are some tips about purchasing or acquiring goods with minimum environmental impact or just minimal financial impact.
ask around: ask your friends & neighbors if they have the desired item(s) that they are no longer using. this can be handy for most nonperishable goods, especially if you have a cooperative community. the free section of craigslist in your area is a good place to start, or the free section of the nextdoor app; you can also put up an advertisement in nextdoor or a similar app to ask if anyone has what you’re looking for & is willing to give it away.
thrift stores: good for clothing, furniture, & other things. it’s fairly easy to find a local thrift store online, & you never know what kind of treasures are there.
do your research before donating unwanted goods: some thrift stores that depend on donations will give out discounts to donators. you can use this on your next purchase at the store.
reselling sites: if you’re on the hunt for something more specific/that you prefer to be unused (such as makeup), people list all kinds of unwanted gifts & random things on resale sites. ebay is the most famous example, but poshmark, mercari & depop are all more fashion-focused places to get trends at a discount & without directly paying a corporation. thredup is the equivalent of an online thrift store, with more emphasis on basic/classic/affordable pieces. also, check out facebook for sale/trade groups in your area!
farmer’s markets: perfect for local produce. you support small businesses & get food that’s full of fewer artificial additives! warning, though: these can be pricey.
borrowing & renting: if you’re not going to need it forever, then don’t pay a forever price! often local hardware stores have tool rentals, for instance.
barter: trade something you don’t need for something you do. this can easily be another “ask around” one, but there are some websites specifically for swapping makeup, clothes, & more.
local artisans/stores: in the event that you absolutely NEED to buy something new, try getting it handmade or local. etsy is a good online marketplace for handmade goods, & some areas have their own sites/directories. ask around!
make it yourself/repair something: if you need something that you can create on your own (especially from reused materials), then just do it. see if you have a local makerspace, where you can access tools & assistance.
reuse: see if you have anything that would do the job, even if it’s not conventional. as long as it’s safe, you can do some WEIRD substitutions.
reduce: the classic solution, which is just not getting anything new. do you REALLY need another tube of lipstick? more shoes? your 5th jacket this season? i thought not!
edit: dumpster diving & curb picking are valid options as well. you might want to look into the legality of this in your area, but if you’re not afraid of getting your hands dirty it’s great. people throw away things that are still useable ALL the time.
this post isn’t exhaustive, so PLEASE add any websites or ideas that you might have! good luck!!
