this show yet again just misses the mark and it’s so frustrating. Belly continues to make everything about herself and it is so damn infuriating that the narrative makes it so that Laurel is in the wrong. How the FUCK is she supposed to know what’s going on if you literally LIED???? Why does belly not see that she is making everything about herself? “Oh I miss Susannah” that was your mom’s LIFELONG best friend. The boys you’re fucking with? Their MOTHER. I have such empathy for teen girls but belly pushes the fucking limit.
Much less the dumbass fandom response in woobifying Conrad and demonizing Jeremiah for??? Existing? How so many presumably grown ass (cause it’s NOT teenagers) people can assume malicious intent with Jeremiah breathing but bend over backwards to defend Conrad for damn near anything and everything when he’s literally a walking red flag belly would talk about in therapy.
At this point I’m firmly team Jeremiah in that he deserves better than this show or these people. Conrad needs therapy and belly needs a fucking reality check.

the summer i turned pretty really went hey :) we know that you know that we play iconic taylor swift songs during scenes :) and here’s a scene where our love interests are — guess what? — literally outside with snow ;) on ;) the ;) beach ;) so you know what ~that~ means! ;) one iconic tswift hit coming right up while it’s snowing ;) on ;) the ;) beach ;) bet you can’t guess which song! and then proceeded to play invisible string. they got me, ngl. amazing. brilliant. hilarious. i’m not even mad. the taylor swift romcom equivalent of getting rickrolled.
