Ok, so there’s this fanfiction series I’ve been reading called The Stars Claim Them, and hoo, baby, there are SO MANY autistic people in this thing! So I’ve decided to compile A List.

Be warned: there will be spoilers

Lyfrassir Edda: there’s a lot for Lyf but the stuff I have off the top of my head is the bit in Night Vale where they just can’t deal with people and don’t want to talk to anyone and are generally overstimulated. Marius von Raum: nothing specific, other than his special interest is psycology and he has The Vibes.

Nastya Rasputina: she has a social limit.

Drumbot Brian: at one point, he accidentally gives himself sensory issues.

Ivy Alexandria: Ivy :). I really resonate with her as someone who grew up as a very books>people kind of person. Very autism.

(Now, it is worth mentioning that none of the Mechanisms are neurotypical. I don’t think all of them are autistic (feel free to disagree), but like. Prove me wrong.)

Odin: if any of these is controversial, it’s her, please bear with me. I’ve heard that autistic people have very strong moral compasses, but also not all moral compasses are the same, so maybe that helps? Anyway, it’s how she’s so stuck in her ways and how she genuinely doesn’t get how Lyf doesn’t want to summon the Outer Gods. Also, there’s this actual thing where autistic people love trains for some reason. Like, if you go to a website about autism and it has something about special interests, the example of a special interest is often trains. I find that funny.

Martin Blackwood: it’s the way he loves baking because there are formulas he can follow and adjust accordingly and hates cooking because he has to eyeball things.

Oliver Banks: his special interest is Shakespeare.

Brenn Edda: There’s a part where she starts flapping her hands and like. Autism.
