Es un evento internacional que se originó en Canadá. Los estudiantes David Sheperd y Travis Price vieron a un estudiante vestido con una camisa color rosa, que estaba siendo acosado. En apoyo a este hecho ocurrido, al día siguiente promovieron el uso de camisetas color rosa en la escuela.

Este evento inspiró a los miembros del Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity a crear y promover el Día Internacional del Rosa en el año 2007, cuya iniciativa pretende apoyar la labor desempeñada por estudiantes, educadores, la comunidad y otras organizaciones para detener estas formas de acoso. ​

Hay que destacar otras celebraciones mundiales dedicadas a la misma temática, como son las siguientes:

Día Internacional contra el Bullying o el Acoso Escolar (2 de mayo).

Día Internacional contra la Homofobia, la Transfobia y la Bifobia (17 de mayo).

Es de vital importancia tomar conciencia ante esta problemática social, que afecta a niños y jóvenes en todo el mundo. Miles de personas apoyan esta causa en más de cien países, mediante actividades y eventos, publicaciones en redes sociales y donaciones a organizaciones sin fines de lucro. You know the thing that got me was a post where you have Merula telling how she changed because he is her sheperd, that is what triggered me. Because why would this independent girl need someone to lead and change her? That's what got me wondering. It seems like she ditches her independant nature to be with him/apease him. Did he only like her because he could change her?

I get from your answer that it would be a no, but I still don't really know what traits of her he likes. Except her smarts.

I do understand the concern, sorry that that was triggering for you. I do try my best to avoid that "I can fix her" attitude but I understand why it may come across that way. Rather, I tried to have David be a catalyst for her development. Like their little hash out pushes her in the right direction so she can make her own decision to change rather than David forcing her to.

I appreciate that I could do with being a bit clearer on just why David fell for her, it has actually given me something to think about. I know as well as her smarts, he begins to like her ambition, their growing closeness, respect and vulnerability with each other as well as their willingness to protect the other in dangerous circumstances. But I am thinking about just how I could show why he fell for her just that a bit more.

So, thank you anon, you've raised some fair points and I'm glad this is letting me think about it.

'TOVA LOBATZ' Micron 08 Pen on Bristol Paper 19x24in. 2022 It's pretty hard to believe that I've known @tovabatzz for 13 years now. I remember first meeting her as a lively young whippersnapper, wet behind the ears and desperate to sink her teeth into some SF low brow/street art while interning at White Walls Gallery in 2010. I don't even know if she was old enough to get into bars she was frequenting at that time to be honest. Prior to me meeting her, she had already completed an internship in 2009 with Annodominal Gallery in San Jose where she worked with David Choe and Sheperd Fairey. She was awarded this internship due to a paper she wrote while getting her sociology degree at UC Santa Cruz based on the social implications of Graffiti throughout human existence, from the cave-man era to present day. In the year prior to this internship she was studying abroad in Barcelona reading up on art through @juxtapozmag and @fecalface.gallery. This formative time in her life would plant the seeds for many of her future endeavors in the arts. Tova officially moved to SF in July of 2010 after interning at White Walls Gallery while commuting from Santa Cruz. She quickly moved up the ranks to become White Walls' Gallery director in 2011 to 2013. After White Walls, she spent the next two years curating various public art projects before becoming gallery director of @heronarts in 2015. One of these projects is Art City (helloartcity.com) where she co-curated (with Jenny Scharif), project managed and fundraised a city wide project to replace advertisements with art in SF. This was followed by her involvement in the 2013 and 2014 Nashville Walls Project (@nashvillewallsproject) where she curated exhibitions that coincided with murals being painted by local and international artists in Nashville, TN. Tova's joy comes from seeing an artist's vision come into fruition through providing them with the proper tools, money, resource and space to achieve that vision. Public art is what originally drove Tova to pursue the arts because she believe that public art is for everyone.
