Sophie: Pinterest prob, needs images and esthetics to calm herself down

Dex: Tumblr. He has the chaos of Tumblr in him.

Fitz: I’d say Discord, he uses social to talk with the people, not for anything else.

Keefe: I’m not sure. TikTok I’d say. He’s def a video format guy, and there are so many things, he would find every niche and jump from one to another.

Biana: she’s an influencer on Insta. Showing herself, pretty pictures, encouraging people to accept their bodies as she accepted her scars, makeup and hair tutorials.

Tam: is he on social media? YouTube. He talks. Found his way to explain what goes in his head, he makes long videos about very special interests. Probably turns off the comments.

Linh: Pinterest. Shares pictures of her water sculptures, of every beautiful landscape she finds.

Stina: starts drama on Twitter/X.

Marella: on Twitter/X too, sometimes takes part in dramas, sometimes just watching them with popcorn. And goes on Tumblr to laugh and cope.

Maruca: has every social, likes everyone’s post, sometimes shares her most random thoughts in Instagram Stories.

Wylie: not a fan of social media, spends some time on Pinterest, on Instagram, doesn’t post anything.

Jensi: uh. Good question. He was on X but ended up thinking people were definitely too stupid, so moved to just looks at the comments (and sometimes add some) under YouTube shorts probably.

tired of some people saying that "alastor only lost against adam because he was on a leash and his power was limited!"

i don't know, it just didn't feel quite right to me??? it kinda felt like it was in the same vein as thinking that "alastor is the absolute strongest and has more power than everyone!!" or something.

that aside, another reason why it doesn't feel right to me is because i don't think alastor's power was being limited by the person he made the deal with. rather, i think his power was being limited… by his own hubris (in a sense).

like correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm assuming all the others were using angelic weapons/weapons made of angelic steel. (i have no idea how husk's playing-cards-and-dice bombs work, but i'm assuming those had some angelic steel put in there as well.)

alastor, however, was using no weapons at all aside from his own powers. and you know what? i bet he would have at least dealt some damage to adam if he used his powers while also using angelic weapons.

like just look at his little shadow creatures. you know how many of them were able to grab at adam??? you know just how much damage they could have dealt if they were wielding little angelic daggers like niffty?? the same with alastor's shadow tentacles, too!

but he didn't have any angelic weapons. knowing alastor—the egotistical, attention whore bastard—i bet he thought he could defeat adam with just his own power. and that hubris is (partly) why he lost.

(unless there was something keeping him from using angelic weapo- oh holy fuck wait maybe that's how the deal restricted him in that fight. perhaps this is counterintuitive to what this post is about, but i only had a problem with it because, again, i felt like it was saying that "alastor is actually super duper powerful!! if he was unleashed he could've wiped the whole floor with adam through sheer power alone!!!" but him literally being unable to use angelic weapons feels a lot less like that. i still believe the whole hubris thing, but if that could somehow coexist with this theory, it would certainly explain how the deal is still related to his defeat. but hey that's just a theory....... a hazbin theory....)

This is definitely just a petty pet peeve, I know, and I don't mean this in a condescending way when I say it, but as someone who has been a professional character designer and illustrator -- as in I've been paid for it and hired by people to design characters and do illustrations as a freelancer -- for the better part of the last... 7 years, given a rough estimate, it really frustrates me hearing 16 and 17 year olds claim that they've been character designers or illustrators for 10 years.

Like, I'm genuinely glad they see their designing as experience!! Because it is!! But when I'm talking from a professional POV, using knowledge I've learned on the job, with techniques and the like that I've trained and honed in a professional paid for sense, and I suddenly get a "yeah I mean I've got 10 years experience" from a 17 year old its like... Please take me seriously, kid. I've been making character designs since I was 6, that does not mean I have 16 years experience as a character designer. There's a difference between professional experience and having fun making characters as a kid, and unfortunately the latter does not get you credibility in the professional field. I wish it did, but there is in fact a vast difference between the two.

This also goes for when I hear people who are hobbyist go "you don't need to learn the basics of art! You don't need to study anatomy or lighting or x y z fundamental!" because on some level I do agree! You can get into art without studying those things. However do not bitch and whine when your art doesn't look how you wanted it to when you refuse to learn colour theory. You need to know the rules before you can break them, is a rule of thumb I have with art.

This is largely just a vent post about people not taking me or my advice even remotely seriously with art btw. I'm often asked for advice on art and then told im wrong or that they know better despite being younger and/or less professionally experienced. It's just really frustrating, because I try to give positive feedback, as well as constructive criticism, but whenever I ask people for art advice, I'll typically get incredibly subjective opinions on what they find looks better. And it's like I am asking for what techniques here work vs don't not if you think the character would look better with fangs or cat ears.
