LADY LAENA DISCUSSION: stop this.

I can't with the discourse that Laena was a coward for being killed by Vhagar instead of subjecting herself to hours of brutality that could cost both her and her child their lives with very little that anyone could do.

Because I saw a girl who was a pawn to her parents to establish power, making her own way to marry a man who didn't love her the way he should.

I saw her grieving to go back home while he couldn't give her the one thing she asked for. Someone begging to return at her brother's side but couldn't because her husband prioritized himself in their relationship rather than her, them, or their kids.

Someone who reckoned with the fact that she'd be second choice to the man she'd spend the rest of her life seeing him prioritize one kid over the other because he was buying into misguided bullshit about dragon riding, and refusing to rectify it by going back and be an adult for their kids sake.

Someone who was grieved by her family even though she'd been away for years, and even then, she and the people she wanted to return for weren't the priority of the man she'd spent her life with.

I call it self importance, selfishness, centering herself and what she wanted but a coward?

Allowing the thing she'd loved since she was a child take her life, do the thing she wanted. Especially since she could barely walk, far less climb Vhagar. Commanding her to do the one thing no one could take away or put a stop to outside of her want. Doing the thing Daemon had done the entire episode when it came to their family.

This time, it was a dying woman with the last thing she wanted was to do something no one could take away from her. No compromises, no regret afterward, just a quick death that she commanded.

Y'all will never turn me away from her, she's my Princess Diana. The people's princess when she had less than half an hour with me and was never formally a princess, yet I grieved for her through the character depletion.

Let's be serious.

A lifetime of serving. Lady Laena will always be famous. (With a side profile worth the centuries of inbreeding.)
