Surely it would gather a lot of unwanted attention from the media when ideally the brothers wanted to investigate independently. Like how Vincent never knew the existence of Isaac. Or how Isaac lived a secret identity all his life, escaping from his past and eventually finding out about Vincent. Once they were confident in their direction then they will expand the investigation. And deal with all the consequences then.

And that's how Edgeworth unintentionally stole a month of rent (because Gumshoe got his entire complex in on it) from Ren Tale the property mongal of the area and started a legal battle that ended with Tale having to pay out the entire complex for all their moving costs along with the court awarded 2k.

Gumshoe's new apartment has warm water And a working AC. Edgeworth appreciates his partner showering more than once a week. Everyone is much happier. Except Ren Tale. Fuck him.

Right now the episode is only on Nebula, but it should be coming out on YouTube sometime next week. It's very fascinating, and there aren't a lot of English language sources about how Ace Attorney is a mess in the Japanese system as well- except for that Takumi didn't do any research. Like I didn't know the badges were accurate.
