Honestly leveling up to 30+, getting Tharael and playing the Rhalata quest line sets you up to kiiiiinda be prepared for the main story's similar themes. Nessa left Tealor Arantheal waiting for her answer for literal months so she could at least start a life in Enderal first. She gets through the Golden Sickle, does bounty missions, explores Riverville and the Sun Coast before finally drinking enough to take on the Monster in the Arena.

And then everything you experience during the Rhalata quest with the Father mirrors the main story. Pride, hatred, obsession, unethical experimentation (not the Order itself, but Calia's father), body switching, dealing with the cruelty of the world and madness, finding that ONE person who understands you and dealing with them being taken away by the world (mirroring what happened to Yero and his wife, the Aged Man, Letho, Sirius, etc).

The trial during "Part of Something Momentous Part II" is a piece of cake for Nessa, who already knows of psionic illusions and the mind games that evil magic can play. Not much in Enderal tops what nightmares happened in the Rhalata's excavation site. Her and Tharael share that trauma and they have definitely talked through nightmares and ideas and psionics, they are probably more informed than the Order is since psionics and The Butcher of Ark are banned. A lot of Keepers and Novitiates seem ignorant of a lot of Enderal's darker secrets.

Aixon feels like someone the prophet once knew, rather than a total figment of your imagination. He represents the fear that holds you from escaping. You can pick up that skull at the end, "Regret," and instead of picking up the human heart or empty wine bottle at the altar you leave Regret on the stone that frees you. You leave Regret behind and it frees you. Nailaq left behind Qalian, Tharael left behind Brother Wrath. You kill Aixon, who represents fear and anxiety, and it frees you from the trial (I personally tried to kill him every time he opened his annoying mouth).

Then the High Ones meet the prophetess, and because you're level 30+ it's a sobering experience...for them. They may have brought the prophet back into this world, but like The Father and Tharael, you are fucked up because of it and stronger than you were. If Tharael can continue on, so can you.

Honestly having gone through the Rhalata quest and have Tharael by your side after is my favorite way to play. It adds a feeling of readiness instead of hopelessness at being called pathetic over and over again by the High Ones, who need to read a thesaurus and get more colorful words.

Nessa gives them the middle finger. How about you guys?

After playing Nehrim and now re-playing Enderal through again, I’m having Thoughts about the effect the whole Creator cult in Ostian would have on the Prophet. I’ve been reading through the proclamations and the few bits of literature in-game that give us a more of a picture about the landscape of the theocracy in the southrealm, and there’s some crossover in the way the Creator there humiliated the worshippers, and how the High Ones in Enderal consider the Prophet and their entourage pathetic creatures for trying to fight against inevitability. Is the way the High Ones act after the initiation quest, and again during the infiltration of the Nehremese camp potentially linked to how the Prophets own experience with beliefs? We can choose whether the Prophet believed in the Lightborn ofc, but the cult is a different matter with how we can infer it was possibly the cult’s forces that killed the Prophet’s family. With the Creator cult proclamations talking about shame and humiliation and guilt, and the High Ones treating the Prophet (and humanity, sorta) like a petulant child who can’t leave well enough alone (and now I’m also thinking back to the dreams where daddy makes you feel helpless and also keeps shaming you), it all keeps whirling in my head that they feel related somehow, at least in themes.

(side note: now the prophet having the chance to be kind towards ryneus instead of telling him he’s just some dumb kid makes my heart ache more bc in a way the prophet is breaking the cycle of shame and guilt and fuck this game it has replaced my entire brain)

There’s these people calling Father Brown (from the similarly-named show) ‘Daddy’ in a very non-ecclesiastical way and there’s the people being absolutely offended by it, like shipping anything in a show with a strong Catholic moral stance is going to get them into hell on purpose, and I’m just sitting back with my brandy snifter enjoying the murder mystery and admiring the BAMF former-East Ender character assisting in the solving.

Dani as mara and dan as Damian reincarnation. For those who don't know who Mara al Ghul is she is Damian Wayne's cousin. If it's not obvious by the last name it's on his mother's side. I think the idea is perfect because original Mara tried to gain approval from her family and Damien originally was the perfect heir. I think those original traits would really match what went on with Dan and Dani.

I do not know exactly when they would get their memories but Damian would at least get them before He would go to Gotham to be Robin. there would be a lot of angst with them trying to hold on to Danny's teachings but also listen to their new family.

When Dan goes to his father and finds out he doesn't have to kill, it would definitely be a relief. Dan would definitely have a hard time not referring to Dani as their sister instead of their cousin. 

I'm imagining Damian ending up on a robin mission where he needs to talk to some sort of magical user and they call him by the name World Ender. he just panics. The amount of Lies he has to tell. if any one of the bats are around him would be astronomical.

I think after Dan Has been with the family and is like hey they're like Danny. Dani would just show up. like Dan gives the A-Okay and all of a sudden she just moved into a room in the manor. The only person who knows that she's there for a good 2 weeks it's just Alfred or maybe Dan as well. Dan calls Dani their sister and everyone thinks they're twins for like 3 months. It's not until Dani does something she's not supposed to and Bruce pulls the I am your father card then she's like no you're not, that anyone realizes.

If anyone has any more ideas for this please tell me I love this au that I've started.
