going on a full marathon of the Disney Peter Pan cinematic universe(TM) in chronological order. (So first the tinker bell movies then the movie then JATNP and then the sequel) and I just wrapped up the tinker bell movies, And going back to the proposed reboot idea, the pixie hollow fairies absolutely adopted Izzy and ended up with awful empty nest syndrome after she left to pirate. (Bonus points of her primary caretaker was Zarina.)

Oh god I love this, you see the vision. Cause I always wondered *why* Izzy was there because apparently in the books only boys end up In neverland because girls are too clever to fall out of their prams. Girl is smart as shit so I don’t think she would fall out her pram. And most girls n’ women there are either mythical creatures or they were born there like tigerlily. As for Le beak, red Jessica, Misty, pirate princess etc I assume they were born elsewhere, traveled about before deciding to settle in Neverland.

So this leads me to think that Izzy isn’t probably human or she’s like; Half-human, half faerie. Or fuck it my favorite wackass headcanon they made her from various ingredients on neverland so she’s like a Frankenstein of neverland things, an experiment gone both wrong and right because she’s here but she’s not fairy size like they we’re anticipating.

Oooh and with her you can see the island’s dickery as even though the fairies raised her. It makes her forget but it didn’t make her forget about the fairies all together. When she tells Tinkerbell, “oh I always wanted to be your friend Tinkerbell!!”

Tinkerbell is like “??????? We already are???? I’m one of your aunts-” And then she realizes Izzy can’t understand what she’s saying.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Suza Scalora takes up her camera and travels the world to capture photos of fairies after she is left a mysterious manuscript on their lives and habits.

A very quick read, but fun nonetheless. Each photograph gives life to the “Notes” section of the page that describes Scalora’s journey to get the photo. Lots of different areas and types of fairies, but my favorite one was Ariel.

YEAR: 1998/2005

DESCRIPTION: A smaller Australian children’s franchise developed by Jenifer Watts, developed from her daughter’s love of fairies, the series first was released as a set of home videos through 1998 to 2000, then as a collection of albums, and THEN a remake series in 2005. The series revolves around 2 fairies named Harmony and Rhapsody, who live with their fantasy “Fairy” friends in a magical mystery tree, a tree that lives at the top of a garden home to a few kids. Everyday they have magical adventures and do fun, magical activities together. The series first started more story driven, but as 2009 came around the series dived into more educational routes.

MOD THOUGHTS

1: This show is what I call one of the pioneers of children’s Fairycore and for a good reason.

2: At some point during the height of their popularity the franchise sold some dope ass merch.

They got so popular that at one point they opened up a freaking BUILDING off of the Fairies!

3: Fun fact: the 2005 sets were developed by WETA, who also did the effects and had other involvements of production for the Lord Of The Rings series. This would mean that the fairies live in the same universe as the Lord Of The Rings universe! (JOKE)

164 years ago today Giacomo Puccini was born. One of his rarely performed works, the opera “Le Villi,” had its American premiere on December 26th, 1908. It sang the New Zealand soprano Frances Alda, who in 1910, the director of The Metropolitan Opera Giulio Gatti-Casazza got married. Also on the original evening note is the famous tenor Andreas Dippel, who was a member of the management. The second work that followed this opera was the "Cavalleria rusticana" played. The conductor was Arturo Toscanini. Alda's postcard dates from 1905.
