one thing I think it's vital to remember about templates is that you oughta still get to know them, don't consider them work-done. know what it does, personalize it, change it to suit you better, know how to fix it. templates kinda do the hard work of laying out everything you need in workable order, but the way in which most engines work is that from version to version some things are gunna change and as you get better at coding, you're gunna wanna do things a particular way.
I only say this because I think it would be demoralizing to keep trying to make a game while not knowing your template and just relying on the code to continue working the way you think it's supposed to, because inevitably that changes. consider it thrifted and learn how to make your own repairs and flairs yk.

saltburn and consent; an investigative tangent
felix, venetia, and farleigh all consider sex to be transaction rather than emotional. you can see this in the casual way felix approaches sexual intimacy. you can see this in the way farleigh is described to use sex as a tool. you can see this in the way venetia uses sex to fulfill her need for validation. i'd like to explore how this sort of... complicates consent, within these on-screen dynamics.
i'm going to start this off with venetia. in venetia and oliver's first one-on-one interaction, you can see that oliver doesn't yet understand what to do with venetia. he plays his normal, unimposing, nervous, slightly awkward but well-intentioned character. venetia is the one to lean forward, pushing and testing oliver's boundaries. you can infer from later scenes that venetia enjoys testing the boys felix brings back to saltburn. part of this is venetia's own neglectful upbringing; she's starved of attention and therefore validation. she needs to be appealing, and she needs people to want her. this dynamic tangibly twists once oliver has been handed venetia's vulnerability by elspeth.
what is important to understand about this film is that sex is more so about emotion than physicality. this is portrayed in the way that emerald fennell avoids any nudity or exposure in her sex scenes. this is portrayed in the way that oliver exhibits no real confidence until he knows where others are vulnerable. he's unable to exude any strictly sexual dominance; he can only step into his dominance when he knows why these people hate themselves. so, when oliver is given insight into venetia's psyche, he is being given her vulnerability. to me, the sex was merely oliver's way of stripping a wire raw so that a current could effectively travel, so to speak. this is where consent gets tricky. oliver was non-consensually given any real power he had over venetia prior to the actual sex. if oliver had simply slept with venetia without knowing her insecurities or mentioning them, he wouldn't have had any power of her.
now, farleigh. what's interesting is how this dynamic of power, vulnerability, and sex shifts even more with "quickstart." farleigh didn't want oliver's pity, or sympathy. in fact, he recognized that this vulnerability was taken from him by oliver. he might've thought that felix confided in oliver about farleigh's troubles, or maybe he knew that oliver had eavesdropped. either way, oliver entered that conversation believing that farleigh would be just as insecure and starved for validation as venetia (i'm sure farleigh is, but we all react to our misfortune differently). i think the difference between farleigh and venetia in this area is quite interesting. both of them use sex as a way of gaining something. venetia is using sex to fulfill her need for validation, while she grows more and more bored by the material world. she's not afraid of losing anything, she desperately needs to gain something. farleigh does everything to maintain what is tangible, accessible, and real. he sees the material world as an extension of his security, using it as both insurance and escapism. farleigh is constantly terrified, constantly weighing the positives and negatives of his actions.
so, here is oliver, who has yanked the sheet off of farleigh. this is the exposure. instead of biting oliver's proverbial carrot, farleigh does the same to oliver, and in front of everyone. farleigh, just like oliver, understands the power of vulnerability. this is the sort of nightmare where you're suddenly butt naked in front of the whole school. later that night, oliver wills up the confidence to attempt to dominate farleigh, to tame him. again, this isn't just sexual domination. this is "if there's anything i can say to them... if i can help in any way, just ask." this is "we both know i could ruin everything you've worked so hard for. we both know i can help or hurt you." or, at least, that's how farleigh understood it. oliver was planning to ruin farleigh's life no matter what farleigh agreed to. "are you going to behave?" was never just a kinky line to throw around, it's meant to be a threat. what's funny is that oliver already planned to follow through, regardless of whether farleigh decided to "behave." coercive, and painfully hopeless for farleigh.
of course, that isn't to say farleigh wasn't aroused by whatever power play oliver was leaning into. the same goes for venetia. i'm mostly explaining why it's not healthy, or safe, or sane, or consensual. is that not the point of the movie? to question what we find attractive? to stare it in the face and talk about it?
moving on to felix. i'm not really sure where to go with this. i talked about saltburn and its depiction of privilege on an earlier post. to sum it up, farleigh and venetia both have some privilege over oliver, while oliver has some privilege over both farleigh and venetia. oliver has absolutely nothing over felix. both of them are white, both of them are men, and felix happens to be richer than oliver. this is why oliver is... so pathetically desperate for felix. he's obsessed with what he cannot have, control, or dominate. oliver is the vulnerable one, oliver is the one that is eventually laid bare in front of felix. a liar, a manipulator, and pathetically desperate for felix's love. so desperate for someone so powerful to love someone like him.
and, once felix knows this, oliver kills him for it. he fucks the dirt felix is buried under, just to feel like he's taking something after felix took his secrets. oliver understands the power of vulnerability. oliver understands that sex is easy once you've already stolen what really matters from someone. oliver saw the connectivity of human nature and used it, twisted it, just to pull himself closer to felix. oliver's northern star, who he never truly got to have.

My current biggest hurdles are getting my AC to move how I want it to--specifically EN management and verticality. The tutorial boss felt like I was using all my energy just strafing and listening to Walter tell me to get off the ground. I did learn to be more aggressive and win, but the follow up training and missions hasn't really given me more opportunity to practice.
Second hurdle is how to better recover and avoid getting staggered myself beyond never get hit. Threading the needle between using energy to not get hit but also using it to close the distance and get in the kills/damage I need to finish a mission. Outside of AC I like mobile close-range and/or long-range play styles.
The tutorial chopper is pretty demanding for new players, so don't let it discourage you. The "best solution" to it, in the tutorial Loader-4, is to Assault Boost at it when it's just using its machine guns (ie not shooting direct rockets at you). Putting that on quotations because Hey, As Long As It Works. When Walter tells you to get off the ground, it's specifically to avoid the splash of the telegraphed rockets, not necessarily to stay on the air at all times.
Now, basically, you have to treat being off the ground as an action phase for you: You are using resources to stay afloat, and it gives you better innate evasion and maneuvering, plus any benefit that altitude differences might give you over an enemy, if you were previously level with them (keep this in mind), but of course, it comes at the cost of not being able to stay in that state forever. This is in contrast with how in For Answer, you could just perpetually fly if you built that way (and even get Quick Boost chains in for reasonably long), which I mention just in case you've heard of that and were wondering what's up with that in 6. So, in the chopper fight, for example, you only really want to leave the ground when it's shooting rockets at you, if you need it for the extra maneuvering to dodge missiles, and to attack. Being off the ground isn't an offensive phase or a defensive phase, it's an action phase: You can do more things in general, for both offensive and defensive ends. It must be treated as such.
Don't look at Quick Boosts as your Soulsborne i-frame roll or quickstep, look at Quick Boosts as, again, an action: It can be used for breakneck evasive actions when you need it to be that, but also, it can be your way in to your ideal range, whether that's pulling away or going in. Spamming QBs is going to eat your energy, and thus, your action resources. Learn to move and evade without the use of QB, and to use QBs when it's 'right' to do so.
Are you noticing a pattern here? Your resource, EN, is not a defensive tool, or an offensive tool exclusively, it's both. The tempo in Armored Core comes from knowing how to flow freely in action, using it offensively, defensively, and both simultaneously as the fight calls for it. Try to internalize that. If you see a barrage of missiles homing on to you from an angle, you could QB to avoid it, but that'll take EN, which doesn't recover as fast in the air as it does on the ground. Instead, you have to try to use your normal boosting movement to move in a way that the missiles miss, such as crossing past them as close to them as you can afford so they can't physically home in on you and hit you. Find the right range relative to your enemy that afford you being able to strafe around them in a ring without their shots hitting you. Armored Core is about finding out things about the specific fight you're currently in, and there's no universal formula for that, but there is a number of good habits that will let you find out the information you need ASAP so you can adjust to it. Am I getting hit a lot while boosting? Is this mitigated by QBing? What do I QB at and where? Does it benefit me to have an altitude difference? How much does it benefit me to be above the enemy? Things like this.
Both hurdles are tied to this, because learning your use of resources and your movement will invariably result in getting hit less or not in any significant amount of times that you'll get ACS broken. "Threading the needle between using energy to not get hit but also using it to close the distance and get in the kills/damage I need to finish a mission" this is pretty much what you have to learn, but also, always keep in mind that your enemy plays by the same rules as you do: They have reload times, they have limited actions, they have to consider the exact same things you need to consider, and are punished for the same failings. Knowing when to use your EN to focus on evasion or for going in is exactly what you should be trying to learn, and it becomes easier when you realize you DON'T need to be QBing all the time, just regular, smart movement and changes in altitude are enough most of the time. QBs eat your energy fiercely.
To get a handle of movement and economy of action, I recommend these loadouts:
With Weapon Bay: Right hand Assault Rifle, Linear Rifle, or Machine Gun, right shoulder missiles launcher/Left hand Shotgun or Machine Gun, left shoulder melee weapon of your choice
Without Weapon Bay: All the same but decide whether you want to keep the left hand firearm or melee weapon, then left shoulder another Missile Launcher or Grenade Cannon.
Simple but effective loadouts that give you close range agency, aren't prohibitively expensive so you can stay mobile, and can dive in and bail out while staying relevant in offensive terms. This may seem a lot at once, but take it at your own speed and once it clicks, trust you me that it'll click.

"... teams like Red Bull and Mercedes who operate with this number 1 and number 2 format. (Ferrari used to be able to do that, idk what the hell happened but... "
you know, with this equal status thing, I wonder if it's to do with the "new company culture" that Ferrari switched to in 2019 with all the no blame things. I don't think this is the case as they were giving team orders pretty regularly to charles in early 2019 (understandably, he was basically a rookie) or is this equal status thing because of who their drivers are. If carlos sainz wasn't carlos sainz son of a champion, who came with a bucket load of sponsors and a whole country of media and support, who's manager spends his time looming over the engineers 24/7 would Ferrari still work the way they're working? Makes you wonder if things would be different if it were someone else in the team
This no number 1 thing really annoys me because for example, even before he was a champion, no one questioned that Max was number 1, because his results over his teammate showed you he was better, no one was expecting them to start the season on equal footing, but charles, who has a similar head to head stat as max over their respective team mates is not seen as the outright number 1. He still has to prove himself, and I fully blame Ferrari for this. Red bull have always made it clear who they're backing. Also you have people saying that you have to let them race with equal status at the beginning of each season and then after a few races you can decide - okay fine, that is fair for strategies etc, but you have to decide pretty early on which direction you're going with the car and developments. You can't wait for 4 races in and them make a decision who you're going to back. Like you said, it's pretty impossible to win a ch*mpionship these days without a designated number 1 and number 2 unless you have a rocketship and the only competition is yourself. I hope with Fred being there, the things he says are just for the media and he actually knows who will w*n for them if given the tools
Super interesting points here 👀
On one hand yes, Binotto was handed the reins and was supposed to be this Just Some Guy character who's easygoing and doesn't point fingers and is fair and makes sure everyone feels good etc etc to reflect the new "company culture" as you said. It really does feel like Ferrari's going from one extreme to another with little middle ground. It's like they want to avoid getting criticised for being too cutthroat or something after they basically had this reputation of being THE team orders team during the Schumacher era but they're going about it the wrong way. They don't really come across as any more fair or "lite" this way, they just kind of give the impression that they're unable to take control and and just passively watch on as their drivers run amok and undermine them publicly ("stop inventing"??????).
And you also make an excellent point about the Sainz family and the weight and legacy behind that. I swear Binotto pulled the trigger Piglet with team orders in 2019 more frequently than they did in 2022 with an actual championship on the line, which makes no sense. It's one thing when Ferrari's going in 2019 probably expecting a repeat of the same scenario that's been playing out for two years already (a championship fight between Lewis and Seb) and Charles is barely more than a promising rookie and new to the team. They made it clear that they expect him to play back-up if Seb's in a position to challenge for the title and Charles accepted his role. Then the championship battle never fully materialised and Charles impressed with his speed and racecraft and results, which prompted them to re-evaluate.
The frustrating thing is no one saw the 2022 equal status thing coming. I mean the way they were setting everything up it seemed like a done deal that Charles would be the defacto leader of the team and be given number 1 status in a championship fight scenario. I don't think anyone expected them to really backpedal on that. Part of the reason why they called it quits with Seb is because they didn't want two drivers with number 1 ambitions taking points off each other - but then that's exactly what we got in 2022. Under the same leadership. Huh. 🥴🤔
I think it comes down to a mix of the Sainzes politicking and having that pull (also a good point about Carlos's cousinager hovering, he's constantly in the garage to a degree I don't think even Nic Todt is, or maybe he just doesn't make his presence as obvious) and perhaps some personal bias on Binotto's part. For all his talk of equal status you could clearly tell who he personally preferred out of Seb and Charles and he made little effort to hide it.
Carlos has mentioned that Binotto's the one who really believed in him and who oversaw him signing and extending his contract. As much as Binotto liked to take credit for Charles's rise, it was Marchionne who pushed for a Seb/Charles lineup and Arrivabene who put pen to paper. He was, however, involved in Carlos's recruitment to the team and by the sounds of it he was pretty much his first choice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's definitely going to be pressure on Fred to "straighten things out" and have more clarity going forward. He's been sort of vague and tight-lipped so far but if he's learned anything from Binotto's failure.........I sure hope he'll make the right choice 🙃

@unforestalledreturn
Quiet.
Nothing to dullen your thoughts.
Your response time is even better than before, and yet you can't stop thinking about what went wrong. Of how you need to make it right- Your comrade's life depends on it.
This is a highly dangerous extraction mission. Chances of survival, yours or Rhapsodos', are but a slim margin. But from where Jae is standing, it doesn't feel all that different.
It's the same warm, wet, absolutely foul smelling jungle. Hell, even the wildlife and plants had about as much chance of killing him as the Wutai insurgents do.
His PHS is ignored, put on silent for the remainder of the mission- at least until he finds Genesis. And there's smoke coming in thin, trailing wisps from an area he thought was impassable. Too hard to traverse.
"Comrade"? Are you really that important?
They have him underground. Of course they do. It was the smartest choice given the Red General's innate abilities and magical affinities. In some cold and dark cave dripping with water. There was probably a large source nearby as well that they'd be able to draw from.
Quick and silent, the two guards at the mouth of the cave don't even see him coming. He's not even using his trademark weapon, not this time- just a wicked looking combat knife. There's a rustle of brush and the wind whistles around the shell of his ear as the blade cuts through trachea and larynx.
He's seen so much death. In all it's forms, of all ages. And yet he's somehow not prepared for the sight of tools that should be intimately familiar to him. The stench of old blood, stagnant water, and otherwise.
Just what is it you're even thinking? That if you're nice to it, keep it safe, and don't scare it off, you might actually get to keep this one?
Genesis, or what's left of him anyway, is restrained by some metal devices that could have been ripped straight from the Development labs. Gaining access to such technology was a major breach of their security and while Yoon smelled a rat in the supply boat, he didn't have to time to dwell on it now.
Time doesn't even feel right anymore. It's slowed down, sounds drag out like damaged film footage. But Jae finds he's never had more clarity than in this singular moment.
You know there's something off, inside. There's something, maybe everything wrong. It doesn't even matter if you're real anymore. You're so afraid of being human, you'd rather be anything else- A monster. The apex predator. You have to be hated because you need to be stronger.
Avoiding damage is better than mitigating, but he's not stupid enough to skimp on protective spells and debuffs. Wounds bleed longer and harder, poison slows his targets' movements and creates more chaos out of what should have been a regimented squad who know how to cover each other's blindsides.
Rolling just out of the reach of a heavy bladed lance, the Turk lands in a crouching position astride another Wutai rebel. The first attack connecting is enough to shock, opening up the opportunity to just... keep going. The knife slides in and out like it's stabbing into a slab of thick butter, the foreign soldier staring down at his mangled leg as it gives out beneath him.
Power. If you can't have all of it, why bother having it at all? Why bother even being alive? But you're so sick of just 'being alive'.
Using a fallen body as a shield, he narrowly avoids being blasted by those weird pike-guns their enemy manufactured. He's not even sure how they work, but hey- A gun is a gun is a gun, right?
The length of the polearm feels unwieldy between his grip, but he raises the lance and fires off some rounds- Kneecap, dominant/weapon hand, headshot. Hurls the lance like a javelin at the last target running for the entrance.
His movements are a unsteady and jerky as the adrenaline begins to take a nosedive, Yoon scanning the area for anything of use. There's a basin of cold, bloody water positioned near the chair Genesis is strapped down to, long lengths of plastic tubing, some widemouthed funnels.
The nearby boxes serving as a table have a map and some documents laid out. Rations. Extra uniforms.
None of this is important right now, though.
You want to belong somewhere, but not anywhere. You want to be held, but not by anyone. It's always been you, you want to be treated like something rare and precious- that should never, ever be broken.
He's breathing. Sounds like he may have gotten sick- from the torture or the water, the beatings- Jae of all people knows how serious deep tissue and muscle damage are and that treatment is vital to keep the body from plain giving up from ongoing infection.
"Genesis-"
Pain shoots up and down his left arm stemming from the shoulder as a bullet rips through it. Pivoting just in time to keep from being pistol-whipped, the Turk grapples against a straggler- His opponent's already in bad shape but desperation is fueling his body right now, that and possibly spite and bloodlust for killing his entire squad.
Toppling, they fall to the ground and from an outsider's perspective it probably looks pathetic- Two grown men pushing and grabbing each each other wildly, like two bullies fighting on a playground.
Thick hands wrap around his throat and clamp down on his windpipe, Jae's mouth gasping open like a dying fish as he bucks and twists and kicks up more dirt and rocks.
But you already are.
Groping for his attacker's face, he steels his grip and it hurts and he just shoves his thumbs into the man's eyes until he's screaming. And keeps pushing. He overstrains his neck and arms trying to stab fingers straight through that motherfucker's skull, until he hits brain even.
The stranglehold around his neck finally loosens and Jae clumsily rolls them both over, picking up a rock about as large as a brick to smash the other man's face in.
Because despite everything, he's still fucking alive, twitching and groaning and it looks like pus and blood and runny eggs are leaking down his face in thick, unctuous rivers.
It doesn't matter. It's pointless. He likes seeing it. Watching what the weight of the rock and the force of his arm does to him, caving his nose and teeth in until it's just... meat, meat and blood and little pieces of bone and gristle that he's hammering into the damp earth.
You always were.

returning the favor. all the non sex ones for Pearson [too tired to pick all the numbers you're free to ignore the ones you don't want to do <3]
YUIPPEEE RUNNING AROUND AND YELLING SCREAMING WHEN PEOPLE ASK ME WHATS WRONG I JUST YUELL I LOVE MY FREAKING WIFE!!! AN D RUN OFF WITH NO EXPLANATION
How did you two meet? // Deciding between Pearson being a customer at Ace's shop and Ace escorting a monsterkin friend to the R.I.P., or OR maybe they met bc Atom was trying to pilfer something and they went uh where's your . guardian. and they got so distracted by Pearson that Atom was able to get away with the item LOL
Was it love at first sight, or did it take awhile for you to warm up to each other? // It wasn't immediately romantic, but con artists are either best friends or sworn enemies, and in this case Ace was quick enough on their feet to entertain rather than enrage so they're pretty good friends off the bat :]
What do the people around you think of your relationship? // Arthur is canonically very protective of their family, but I recall at some point Shou saying Arthur would egg on their thing? Or maybe that was Meryl icr- but the point stands that Arthur is hostile until they're not LOL. We already know how Salem feels (other fella dot mp3), I'd like to think Meryl would be alright with it? If not supportive. Polyam for the fucking win (separate relationships but still friends), and. I think Atom is just suffering. Atom voice stop tryna fuck my dads-
Do you have pet names for each other? // 'Pear' is a pre-established nickname Ace has for Pearson, but they both also default to normal 'dear', 'babe', etc. (Eventually I think they let people call them 'Fen' too, but only people they're close to [short for 'Fengari (Φεγγάρι)'], and Pearson would be one of them.)
Have you given your ship a name? // gestures to the ship tag. but a different one might be ace of hearts :] as an alternative
Who is the more dominant one in the relationship? // Taking this as not a sex question because I know more. Ace tends to be the one that pays in the Tallyho vers bc Pearson is flat broke, while in other versions Pearson is the one who pays for things, and you'd think that'd be an indicator of the more controlling one of the relationship, but it's honestly an even split. They both have their moments either way, but in terms of physically fighting for one another, Ace tends to do it more often because they have the power to.
What does each of you think about PDA? // It's a useful tool to avoid the police <3 (casual hand-holding is a favourite of Ace's outside escaping the police)
What do you two find to be the most attractive about one another? // Ace finds everything about Pearson attractive. A conman entrepreneur that hates his family, is outrageously Irish, and is pansexual? Their colours even match. What's not to love? Pearson would probably find Ace easy to coexist around, honestly...no expectations, no duties, they're just two stable adults shooting the shit.
10. What was your worst fight? // In Tallyho vers, regardless of canon complicity, it's probably to do with Salem (either them seeing him or working for him in the more canon-compliant vers). Outside of that it's probably just. arguments over who left what out. 11. Best gifts you two have exchanged? // Ace is a fella who gives a lot of gifts, because the shop just kinda...spawns them. They find a random object in their shop that definitely wasn't there before, get the strong feeling that 'x would like this', and they give it. Probably the best gift they've given was a hand-made one, like a ring or something. Pearson's best gift is himself, obviously- 12. Do you want/have kids? // Atom is more than enough for Pearson. Ace has Breun sooner or later, and that's good enough for them too- 13. Have you ever broken up? // Over the Salem thing, at least. It wasn't official, as they never really say they're dating, but... 14/15. Scariest/Happiest moment together? // Scariest is probably whenever Atom is in danger and they barely make it to save them. Atom is so incredibly important to the two of them, despite how Ace never really says anything (they're more actions than words). Happiest moments are domestic things. The R.I.P. succeeding is relief and pride, plus Ace isn't there for that- but shit like cooking together in the kitchen or just sitting down and resting after a long day... 16. Are you or will you ever get married? // Pearson is technically still married. If anything, they'd do it for tax benefits and the excuse of their spouse to get home to, like I stated a while ago. They do love each other, but a 'genuine' marriage isn't in the cards I think. 17. Ideal way to spend time with one another? // Doing anything but work. Walks on the docks, getting a bite at markets, etc.
19. What areas do the two of you like to be kissed on? // Ace likes the hand or the neck. Ace can't exactly 'kiss' most of the time, as most of the time they don't have a face, but they do make sure to kiss Pearson all over his silly face when they do, and he seems to like it well enough :] 20. What are the biggest relationship flaws the two of you have? // Ace is so fucking emotionally constipated and thinks everything is quid pro quo. Pearson seems the type to only be genuine behind closed doors, and I could be wrong about that, but he's also...probably rather closed off about the whole 'love' thing in Tallyho at least, not wanting to label it or say it, and being a complete mess about it. 21/22. In what ways are you similar/different? // Oh brother I could go on about this for hours. Let's just start and end it at they're both ourple conmen for similarities. As for differences, well...Pearson isn't a corpse. Nor does he have a storefront he runs. And I don't think he's being hunted down by anyone? So- 23. Who is most affectionate? // Outwardly, probably Pearson. He seems the type of fella to buy flowers and shit if he has the funds. Makes sure his partner knows he's paying attention, even when he's very stressed. 24. If the two of you are apart for a long time, who takes it the hardest? // Ace can't die. They just see it as training for the break that won't end. Pearson probably takes it worse. 25. Who said "I love you" first? // Out loud? Probably Pearson. Ace says 'I love you' in different ways. 26. What was your first kiss like? // Sticky.
29. What do the two of you wear for couples' Halloween costumes? // The idea of Morticia and Gomez Addams in a modern vers struck me (with Atom as Pugsley and Breun as Wednesday) (Meryl stays home to hand out candy maybe), but in Tallyho, probably Jekyll and Hyde, actually. 30. Who is more possessive over the other? // Ace doesn't get too possessive and neither does Pearson probably, but I think Pearson gets clingy when drunk at the very least.
32. Is jealousy a problem at all? // Finanically, probably, but relationship wise? Nah, they're both chill. 34. Who confessed first? // Again, probably Pearson, if it does happen. Ace isn't a words guy. 36. Who apologises most? // Ace. They hate being in the way and will apologise for literally fucking anything. 38. How do you comfort one another during difficult times? // Providing distractions, letting the other talk, offering solutions off experience. Neither of them are the type to willingly wallow. 39. How would both of you react to find someone hitting on the other? // That's just how it goes. They're not in an exclusive relationship, neither of them really care unless it's clear it's unwanted.

Make Your Mark Online With These Design Tips
Tumblr media
Getting someone to design your website is expensive. You could spend the money and be left with an inadequate design. Truthfully, no one can make your website the way you want it. Perhaps you have a clear idea of what your website should look like, but a professional might see it differently. If you're wanting to design your own site, utilize the below tips so that you can create a site you'll be proud is yours.
Include a link to the homepage on every page of your site. One of the best ways to do this is to make a graphic title for your page that can be included on all pages. Web users are used to clicking on a graphic to return home so there won't be a learning curve to navigating your site.
If you want to have a successful website, you need to design it in a way that works for all browsers. It is crucial you test out your site that and see that all pages show up properly in each browser. A page that works well in Firefox may display improperly in Safari, Internet Explorer or Chrome. Check how each page displays in the major browsers before your site goes live.
Always mark files that must be opened in an external program with an icon. Many sites host PDF files, and less commonly, DOC files, that must be opened in Foxit Reader and Microsoft Word/OpenOffice, respectively. These files should be marked with an icon representing the file type, and a link to download the appropriate viewer if the user does not have it.
Always ensure you are giving meaningful feedback, as this is what creates the communication between a website and its visitors. For example, if an action taken by a visitor results in an error, do not simply display "error occurred." Instead, provide a message that explains what happened and how the visitor can correct the error by taking a different action. Without this feedback, visitors are more likely to grow frustrated and just give up by leaving your website.
Try learning about and using shortcuts as much as you can. Building Meaning for Ourselves
The best art is the art that leaves something to the imagination and to interpretation.
If you present everything explicitly and clearly, you rob people of the opportunity to figure things out for themselves and to fill in the blanks with their imagination. Sure you avoid many (Not all) misunderstandings or misinterpretations, but you also prevent most people from feeling a deeper connection with your work; which is more valuable.
The simplest example of this is in comic books: The interstices between panels cause you to make leaps on your own to connect what happened between the panels. This results in you becoming one of the storytellers of the story you're reading. The story you tell yourself in your head could be a little different from the story I tell myself in my head when we both read the same story. Art that allows itself to be interpreted like this makes it unique to every audience member.
I suspect this is why stories I read in a book sometimes stick with me longer than stories I've seen in film and television: I had to paint the picture in my mind, as opposed to being given a pre-painted one. Pictures I painted stay with me longer than those I was given.
This also reminds me of how the best therapists don't give you the answer: They instead give you the tools so you can find the answer for yourself. A breakthrough that is spoon-fed to you will always leave you depending on someone else to give you the answers; but if you can figure things out for yourself, the breakthroughs are more meaningful and impactful. Building meaning for ourselves always has more value to us.
This is partly why I think games like Minecraft are so successful. You don't need to be prescriptive. You can give players the tools and a space within which to create anything they can think of, and they'll let their imaginations run free. If you let them build it, they will come.
The best horror does this: The scariest thing isn't what is known, understandable, and visible; no, the scariest thing is the unknown, that which we cannot understand, and cannot see. You can make a horror story scarier and more personal the longer you can avoid defining what the threat is and letting the audience imagine in their own minds what the danger is. Our minds know exactly what the scariest thing to us is. By not explicitly defining the danger, our minds fill the space with the scariest thing we can imagine.
Obviously, if you leave too much to interpretation, and the more opaque & unclear your story, the more of the audience you will alienate. You want to achieve a balance. Maybe avoid David Lynch levels of opacity and instead opt for Alex Garland levels, which are *chef's kiss* just right.

how much tile do i need calculator
Calculating the amount of tile needed for a project is a crucial step to ensure accurate budgeting and avoid unnecessary waste. To simplify this process, utilizing a "How Much Tile Do I Need" calculator can be immensely helpful. These online tools provide a straightforward method for homeowners, contractors, or DIY enthusiasts to estimate the quantity of tiles required for a given area. Here's an overview of how these calculators work and why they are essential for successful tiling projects.
1. Area Measurement: The first step in using a tile calculator is to measure the area you intend to tile. Whether it's a floor, wall, or backsplash, precise measurements are crucial. Measure the length and width of the surface in the same unit of measurement, typically feet or meters. Record these measurements accurately to input them into the calculator.
2. Tile Size and Shape: Tile calculators take into account the size and shape of the tiles you plan to use. Different tiles come in various dimensions, and the calculator allows you to input the specific dimensions of the tiles you've chosen. Whether it's square tiles, rectangular tiles, or other shapes, the calculator factors in these dimensions to provide accurate results.
3. Grout Lines: Consider the width of grout lines when using a tile calculator. Grout lines are the spaces between tiles, and they are necessary for proper installation. The calculator typically allows you to input the desired width of the grout lines so that it can account for them in the final calculation. This ensures that you purchase enough tiles to cover the entire surface area, including the spaces between the tiles.
4. Calculator Output: Once you input the necessary information – the area measurements, tile size, and grout line width – the calculator provides an output indicating the total number of tiles required. Some calculators may also include information on the total square footage or square meters of tile needed. This output serves as a valuable guide for purchasing the right quantity of tiles, helping you avoid underestimating or overordering.
5. Pattern and Design Considerations: For projects involving intricate tile patterns or designs, some calculators allow for adjustments. You may be able to account for extra tiles needed for patterned layouts, diagonal installations, or specific design features. These considerations can impact the total quantity of tiles required.
6. Ease of Use: Tile calculators are designed to be user-friendly, making them accessible for homeowners and professionals alike. Most calculators are available online and only require basic input data. Some may even provide visual representations of the layout, helping users better understand the distribution of tiles and grout lines.
7. Cost Estimation: In addition to helping with quantity estimation, some tile calculators may provide a rough estimate of the cost based on the user's input. This can be valuable for budgeting purposes, allowing individuals to plan for the total cost of their tiling project.
In conclusion, using a "How Much Tile Do I Need" calculator is an essential step in the planning process for any tiling project. These calculators simplify complex calculations, prevent wastage, and ensure that you purchase the right amount of tiles for your specific project requirements. Whether you're a DIY enthusiast or a professional contractor, leveraging this technology contributes to the efficiency and success of your tiling endeavors.

The Devil Take the Blues
The Devil Take the Blues
by Ariel Elaine Slick
Prologue
Beatrice
As the pallbearers lowered my sister’s body into the warm, rich earth, I wondered whether any change would have made any difference. Did any of us have the slightest control over the situation—except him? Perhaps it was useless to think so. Every tiny detail led me here, and I had a feeling, would keep leading me here, no matter what I did to stop it.
Because I did try to stop it. I really did.
Chapter 1
The devil's gonna git you
Oh the devil's gonna git you
Man the devil's gonna git you
Sure as you're born to die
-Bessie Smith
Azoma, 1924
Beatrice
The Victrola player hissed snakelike before the brassy notes of the horns blared through the speaker. My fingers were sticky with the sweet, piney resin of the hemp leaves as I rolled a cigarette, almost as sticky as the air, which clung to us as fervently as a lover.
Agnes, my sister, perched on a box of canned goods I had yet to unpack, fanned herself but failed to make even the slightest improvement in the heat. I licked the ends of the papers just barely, my tongue as dry as kindling and reached for the box of matches to light up.
“Christ, it’s hot,” I said, holding the edge of the paper to the flame.
“You shouldn’t swear, Beatrice,” replied Agnes. Her hand ceased its fanning, the energy too much for too little reward.
A wicked grin spread across my face. “Hottern’ the devil’s—” I began. My words were cut short with a fan flung in the general direction of my head. It clattered across the room harmlessly. Agnes tried to shoot me a disproving look, but her eyes held a provocative spark to them. Instead, she reached for a newspaper, and I pushed it toward her.
We currently escaped the wrath of another southern summer in Corbin’s Mercantile and Fine Goods, the store our daddy had built himself with nothing but a couple of bottles of whiskey and sheer cussedness. It was humble thing, not much more than a tin roof and four thin walls, much like my house, and my parents’ house before that which my daddy built with old wood filched from the local lumber yard and used railroad spikes from derelict box cars.
The only light that came through was from the large windows that faced front. It made the store dim, but I’d take darkness over heat. The rest of available wall space was crammed with floor to ceiling shelves that held, at any given moment, oil, lanterns, soaps, medicines, farm tools, cotton, linen, muslin—silk when I could get it—sewing notions, guns, cartridges and bullets, cigars, cigarettes, canned goods, cured meat, leather work gloves, hats, denim pants, nails, screws, hammers, and wrenches. And toothpaste.
Along the floor crouched stout barrels full of flour, cornmeal, feed for cows, pickles, potatoes, dried corn, and dried beans. Once my customers wound their way through the labyrinth of barrels, and avoided the ropes, lanterns, pails, and harnesses that swung from the rafters overhead, they walked up to the counter. I made sure to put the peppermint sticks, licorice, jellybeans, horehound, rock candy, and lemon drops right at eye-level for children. The space between the tobacco jars and the cash register left just enough room for me to wrap up the purchases. Behind the counter were a couple of shelves where I kept liquor for those who knew how to ask. At present I had three bottles, but one was not for sale.
I inhaled, savoring the sweet smoke in my lungs, and the aroma of leather and tobacco that always permeated the store and offered the cigarette to her. Agnes only shook her head. “Pastor Dixon says it’s the devil’s plant.”
“Pastor Dixon says that about everything. ‘Don’t ride in cars; they’re the devil’s playground. Don’t listen to jazz; it’s the devil’s music.’ Tell me, how would he know what the devil likes?” Besides, Daddy always said not to trust the Christians; they had tricked us into leaving our home, and they did not believe in the Great Spirit. Agnes was the one who wanted to blend in with the town, despite our features: broad noses, high cheekbones, and skin the color of caramel. I only went to church because if I didn’t, no one would purchase from the store.
Agnes tried very hard not to smile. Beads of sweat clung to her upper lip. “I’ll give you this, I disagree with Pastor Dixon on the music,” she said. She waved away the cigarette. “Truth is, tea makes me feel floaty.”
“That’s the point, Sister.” I inhaled again, already feeling the relaxation settle into my bones. “How’re we supposed to fly to heaven if we don’t practice first?”
Agnes did not respond, but she did not have to. The song humming through the record player was filling up the room just fine. I tamped out the cigarette butt and let the sounds of a swinging band lift me up as I reached for the inventory sheet.
Just then, Agnes sat up straighter than a toothpick in ice. “You ain’t gonna fly nowhere if you’re in prison,” she said. “Sheriff Arceneaux’s marching over, and he’s looking meaner’n a snake.”
“Goddamn it.” I hadn’t pegged him for a liquor raid for at least another week.
“Quick, quick!” hissed Agnes.
I grabbed the three bottles of bourbon from beneath the counter, then hastened toward the back of the store.
“How close?” I called over my shoulder. I yanked the line that was attached to the trap door that led to the attic. I shifted all three bottles to one arm and gripped the stairs with my right.
“About ten seconds from lighting your behind on fire.”
In that single moment that I have struggled to absolve in my mind, my fate, and that of my sister’s, was sealed. I rushed up the stairs, and one bottle—my Daddy’s bottle, the one he used as collateral, the one he told me never to sell because an old witch doctor woman told him if he never sold it, the store would be blessed, the one that had given us salvation from starvation—slipped from my grasp.
It smashed against the dry hardwood floor.
For a moment, I didn’t breathe. Then I rushed up the stairs and set the two bottles in the attic. I grabbed a tin box full of turpentine, unscrewed the cap, then dumped it all on the floor as well. The bell over the door tinkled.
“Mornin’, Agnes,” said the Sheriff. Sheriff Beauregard Arceneaux was a handsome fellow, or so all the girls gossiped at the soda fountain, with a chiseled sort of face, a strong jaw, and golden curly hair that made him look cherubic. He once took me on a date to gig frogs, and he tried to gig something of mine, but the smell of sweat and beer breath didn’t appeal to me much, so I hopped on my merry way.
I briefly considered dumping turpentine on myself to mask the smell, but this was my mother’s dress, and I couldn’t bear to lose two parts of my family in the same day, so I left it. As I composed myself, Beau and Agnes continued talking.
“Where you coming from that you look so hot and sweaty?” said Agnes.
“Getting a coupla [the word] boys and the Dupres kid out’a tight spot. They was playing down by the dam and one of ‘em got hisself stuck ‘tween the lip and the pipes.”
“Well, that was right decent of you.”
“Whooped all three of their a—, I mean, took a switch to their behinds, iffen you take my meaning. Don’t wanna foul up the sweet air around you with swearing.”
“Now, Sheriff Arceneaux,” giggled Agnes. “You can’t talk like that now that I’m a married woman.”
“What? Can’t I tell a woman how beautiful she looks?”
I appreciated how much my sister distracted Beau, but I had to wise up sooner or later. Lifting my chin and squaring my shoulders, I took a few deep breaths to steady myself. Blood thumped in my wrists. I sauntered up to the counter. As soon as I did, Beau locked his eyes on me.
“Mornin’, Ms. Corbin,” he said. His eyes drifted over everything. “Whatcha got going on in this store?”
My heart danced the Texas Tommy as I looked him dead in the eye. “Clumsy hands of mine spilled some turpentine in the back.”
Just turn around and leave.
Beau sniffed. “Don’t know no turpentine what smells like an 1899 Old Forester.”
It was an 1891, but I’d let that particular slide like cheese off a biscuit.
“Mind if I take a look around?” Statement. Not a question.
Agnes lifted up a hand and set it on his arm. “Now, Sheriff Arceneaux—Beau— that ain’t necessary and you know it. My sister ain’t running no speakeasy. ‘Sides, you know Prohibition is a joke by the long, overreaching, greedy arm of the federal government.” She let go of him.
“That’s for da—you have done hit the railroad spike on the head.” Beau lifted one of the cannisters of hard candies and plucked one out. Watermelon. He unwrapped the wax paper around it. Then he eyed some of the pharmaceuticals I had on the counter. “Now, what about this marihoo-wanna?”
I shrugged. My spine was as tense as an old guitar string. “It’s a cough syrup, Sheriff. And the leaves are good in a tea.”
He popped the candy in his mouth. “I seen plenty’a Greasers smoking it in the fields. Ain’t no good can come of something like that.” Crunch.
Far as I knew, it was just a plant that grew in clumps by the side of the road, same as tobacco or Devil’s claw. Plus, it was the only thing keeping me calm at the moment.
He glanced at Agnes, then lifted a finger to me. I considered biting it off. “For the love I have of your kid sister, I’ll be on my way. But if I was you—” Crunch. “I’d use the two remaining gears in my brain to grind themselves together and not do anything extra-judicial.” Crunch. “At all.”
Thumpthump. Thumpthump.
“Y’all have a fine day now.” He left the wrapper on the counter.
As soon as the bell tinkled overhead, Agnes let out her breath in a whoosh.
“Jesum Crow, Beatrice, what happened?”
A particularly painful lurch in my chest. “Accidentally dropped Daddy’s whiskey,” I mumbled. I slumped down onto a barrel. I would have happily traded a night in jail if I could have Daddy’s bottle put back together. And if I had known what trouble dropping it would bring, I would have spent the better part of my life rattling my tin against the iron.
“Shit.” Agnes bit her lip and came down and sat beside me on another barrel. She rubbed my back. “At least it’s one less bottle you have to hide.”
“Beau’s a busybody anyhow.”
“Come on, Beatrice, he was just doing his duty,” she said. She lifted a newspaper and gestured to the headline. “‘Axman kills again,” she read aloud, not bothering to hide the disgust in her voice. “Can you believe it? Murdering over music or some such.” She rattled the pages in indignation. “Aren’t you glad we don’t live in the city? Nothing like that ever happens around here. Beau keeps us safe.”
I took the newspaper from her and turned it to less sanguinary tellings. “Lookee here—a band is coming to town. Says here they’re supposed to be pretty hot. They’ll be here in a week or so.” I looked up at her. “Come with me.”
She took the newspaper from me and eyed the dark face blowing an axe near a flower. “‘Honey Dripping Blues,’ she read. “‘They’re the Honey Drippers and what a sweet thing is in store for Azoma. Just one taste and you’ll buzz right over. With a hot piano-trombone-cornet accompaniment, they’re here for one night only. Always fly, never sticky.’” She glanced up at me. “A married woman doesn’t need to go to all that. Sounds like too much sinful rubbing.”
I kind of liked the sound of that. I had a need that was growing, and I wasn’t ashamed to admit that I liked a little rubbing now and then. Just couldn’t tell anyone around here you did like it.
“Please? I can’t go alone. You know how quick the barflies and Baptists will wag their tongues about my virtue being lost if I go alone? ‘Sides, don’t you wanna listen to some good music?”
Agnes glanced at the address. “Beatrice, the bar is on the west side of the tracks, in the Negro part of town. Isn’t it…dangerous?”
“Isn’t that half the fun?” I grabbed a broom to sweep up the broken shards of glass and the rest of my dignity but stopped when I felt Agnes’ eyes drilling two holes in my back like the oil pumps in Texas. “Listen, ain’t no danger in listening to good music. No one’s gonna make trouble lessen it’s me.”
The record slid into another song; it was hard to argue in the midst of really good music.
“I’ll think about it,” she said in a tone that said she had already made up her mind to decline. “I’ll have to ask Tim.”
I let it go for now. I was content to let life go on forever like this: just my sister and I, listening to music, talking about nothing. Time bent and warped under the smoke, and I liked it that way. Time could stand on its head, for all I cared, for all that I wanted anything to change. When I was done cleaning, I flipped through the advertisements in the back, searching for the next great record, when Agnes cleared her throat.
“You just gotta get yourself married. Then you won’t be so lonely, wanting to go off to jazz joints and such.”
“I ain’t lonely.” That was only half-true. And that statement was only half-true, too.
The record player changed tracks. I loved the delicate sizzle between each song, the tiny space that contained infinity. Then, for just a moment, something changed in the music. It was like a jump, a halt. A whisper, then nothing. Despite the heat, a chill crept down my spine. I ignored it. The haints wouldn’t get to me, today.
“When do you think you’ll get married?” she asked, softly.
“As soon as you stop asking that question.” I kept my tone lighthearted, to let her know I was joking.
However, Agnes remained serious. “I worry about you, you know. Living in the house, alone. Day after day.”
“I’m not alone; I have Pecan.”
As if summoned, my brown, fluffy cat came to sit beside me. As I stroked her, she chirped once, then started to purr. I rescued her as a stray, when she was rail-thin and mangy.
“You know what I mean, Beatrice.”
“As soon as I find someone who I love more than Pecan, I’ll marry them.” Pecan rolled onto her back, exposing her soft, belly fur. She only let me touch her belly when she was deeply relaxed, much like I was feeling now. I had the two persons that I cared about most deeply in the world with me –and a cat’s a person; I don’t care what anyone said. They were all I needed.
“Plus, I would lose the store, which is something that I’d like to avoid, thank you kindly.”
It wasn’t the only reason why I avoided marriage, but it contrived a good portion. If I ever got married, all my property would become my husband’s, and I would have not a whit of legal recourse. It was the only connection to Mama and Daddy I had left.
Especially since you were a damn fool and dropped the bottle, I thought savagely.
“Well, I should get back to the house. Tim’ll be there soon, and I need to start lunch.”
“Just give it until the end of the record. It’s too hot to move, anyway.”
And so, we did, just listening to the snazzy sounds of the new jazz music, feeling as though time would forever be on my side. I wish that record had played forever.

7 Remote Usability Testing Tools to Boost Your UX Efforts
Tumblr media
As a UX designer, you're used to running user tests with real people in real-world scenarios. But what if you want to test your digital products remotely? Remote usability testing has its advantages—and its own set of tools. I'm going to show you how remote usability testing works and introduce seven tools that will help you get started with this powerful technique.
7 reasons to embrace remote usability testing
It's more cost-effective. You don't need to pay for travel, or even an office space.
It's more convenient. No one is forced to make unnecessary trips, so it's easy for participants to find time for tests—even if you're testing in a different country!
It's more flexible. The remote usability testing process is flexible and scalable, allowing you to set up tests on your own schedule—no matter where in the world you are or how many people are involved with a project at any given time!
It's more scalable—you can get started immediately with just one tester, then add as many people as needed based on the types of tasks they'll perform during their test session(s), which means there'll be no downtime between sessions either since no meeting rooms need be reserved ahead of time anywhere else except perhaps via WebEx (which doesn't require any reservation).
7 tools for remote usability testing
Remote usability testing is a very powerful tool for the UX community. It has many benefits, including:
It allows you to have participants try out your website or app on their own time, in their own home or office.
It gives you the opportunity to improve your user experience by getting feedback from real users, instead of relying on colleagues or friends who may not represent a diverse group of people with different backgrounds and needs.
You can run multiple sessions with different participants without having to leave your desk (or even get dressed!).
Remote usability testing has several advantages and needs its own set of tools.
Remote usability testing is a great way to get unbiased feedback. When you're working on your product, it's easy to get biased by the people around you who are familiar with it and to think about things from their perspective.
Remote usability testing allows you to see how someone new would use the product, which can help uncover problems or questions that you wouldn't have thought of before. You'll also be able to reach more users than if they were all in one location, so this method is especially useful if you want feedback from people in different time zones or locations.
Conclusion
We hope that this article helped you understand why remote usability testing is worth your time. If you’re still not convinced, don’t worry—there are plenty of other reasons to do it. It can help you gather feedback from a larger pool of users and avoid bias in the process, it can save time by allowing experts to give feedback remotely instead of traveling somewhere else (like an office), and it allows testing to happen whenever they want to test something new on their own schedule! While there are some costs associated with remote usability testing (like hiring an expert), they really aren’t that high when compared with traditional usability testing methods like sending people offsite or pestering them all day long with surveys through email. Plus, there are many different tools available today that make conducting these tests easier than ever before so anyone can get started right away without having any prior experience whatsoever!

If You Are An Aspiring Forex Trader You Need To Consider This!
Global Financial Solutions Asia Skilled tips provider. Many individuals are eager to trade on the Forex market. The idea of fast trades and "easy" money is quite appealing. Trading is not as simple as it looks however, and the wrong moves can cost you thousands. Before you start to trade, here are a few tips to get you off to the right start.
Study the long term trends in the Forex market. While there is always a chance of a big shakeup in currency values, for the most part the long term trends are steady. If you are wondering whether to get out of a market or not, learn what the trend is for that currency and use that as a guide.
If you want to get some good looking revenue, you need to make sure that you are in control of your emotions at all times. Don't think about earlier deficits and spend your time trying to avenge them. When working in a foreign exchange market, you are going to have ups and downs constantly.
When trading, do yourself a favor and keep your charts clean and easy to read and understand so that you can effectively use them. Some people have incredibly cluttered charts for reference and if you're a novice, you will think that they know what they're talking about. Most of the time that is not the case. So keep yours clear of clutter so that you can effectively see what's going on in the markets.
Think about the risk/reward ratio. Before you enter any trade, you must consider how much money you could possibly lose, versus how much you stand to gain. Only then should you make the decision as to whether the trade is worth it. A good risk/reward ratio is 1:3, meaning that the chances to lose are 3 times lower than the chance to gain.
When trading on forex try to coordinate your trading times with times in which different markets overlap. These times will be when a majority of trading will happen on those markets. Even if you cannot do this, at least make sure that your chosen market is open and do not trade during their closed times.
Make sure you select the right kind of account. If you are a beginner, choose something that will not require a lot of managing skills. Once you are more comfortable, upgrade to an account that reflects how much money you want to invest, and how much you need to make.
In order to learn good trading strategies in the foreign exchange market it is very important to master a currency pair. Read on news about those countries and take note on how their currency acts. Jumping between different currencies could be a recipe for disaster and this could be avoided by this strategy.
A good way to gain valuable information on how to be successful in terms of trading in the foreign exchange market is to gain access to online forums. These forums can give you insight on how to go about trading. The more you know they better you are in terms of deciding on what trade to do.
If you are going to be investing a lot of money in forex, you should enroll in a money management class at a local college. This will help you to form a blueprint of what you want to achieve and learn to quit when behind. Proper money management is the key to maintaining success.
Global Financial Solutions Asia Qualified tips provider. You can recognize a good forex platform by the software offered with it. A good platform should offer you different tools that you can use to get alerts and assess the risks you are taking. A forex platform that comes by itself is probably not a good choice, unless you already have all the software you need.
Forex trading can be done in different ways. Not everyone can afford to start investing at the highest levels. There are plenty of low risk foreign currency sites that you can visit to see how to make money with less of a financial risk. This is especially good if you cannot afford to lose much at one given time.
As a small Forex trader, you should keep it simple. Don't try to get fancy by combining techniques and speculating too heavily. Instead, choose your method of trading, be sure you understand all its ins-and-outs, and stick with it consistently. By being consistent and disciplined, you can get ahead in Forex trading.
Decide how much money you want to trade and stick to it. When you sign up with a Forex broker, choose a set amount of money you are willing to risk. If you are just starting out, be prepared to lose all of it as part of the cost of your Forex training and battle scars, and make sure it's money you can afford to lose.
Every Forex trader has three choices. They need to decide if they should get into a long position, short position or stay out of the market. When the market is trending up, long positions make the most sense. Short positions are best in a downward-trending market. But when the market continues to move sideways, staying out is the best choice to make.
Even with trading on a short time frame, you should take a look at the larger picture. If you notice a negative trend that only appears on the long term, chances are your short time investment is not going to be a good decision. If you are having trouble determining a trend, always look at a larger time frame to get a general idea.
Global Financial Solutions Asia Professional tips provider.Trading on the Forex market is something that appeals to many, but can lead to huge losses if not done correctly. In this article we have discussed some of the most important tips for any beginner to follow. Review them and integrate them in to your trading strategy. Understanding the fundamentals of trading before you get started can help to make your career on Forex long and profitable.

The Importance of Printed Ribbon and Custom Ribbon Printing
The world has certainly changed over the past decade or so, and the printed ribbon industry has changed with it. As we seek to compete in this digital age, it’s important to understand where our industry needs to go to stay relevant in the minds of customers and consumers. I have some thoughts on this topic, which I will share with you here as part of my post about the importance of printed ribbon and custom ribbon printing.
Reduce Errors
Every business wants to avoid making errors, but sometimes they happen. By printing your ribbon with your company name and logo, you can help reduce the chances of mix-ups. This way, if there is ever a problem with an order, your customer will know who to contact. And, if you're using a custom printed ribbon on a product that will be given as a gift, the recipient will know who to thank!
Provide better quality: Printing ribbon means you'll always have more than enough in stock. Plus, when your inkjet printer breaks down or needs maintenance, you won't have to worry about how long it's going to take before it's back up and running again. Continuation Avoid mistakes: Many people find that one of the most frustrating parts of ordering ribbons is misreading what their customers want or mistakenly picking out a different type of ribbon altogether because they didn't read carefully enough.
When choosing between buying pre-printed ribbons or printing them yourself, printed ribbons are often cheaper for companies looking for quantity discounts.
Improve Customer Satisfaction
Every business wants to ensure their customers have a positive experience, and one way to do that is through the use of printed ribbon. Custom ribbon printing can help add a personal touch to your products or packaging, making your customers feel valued. Plus, it can also help promote your brand and improve customer satisfaction. Customers will be drawn to your products and remember them more often if they’re dressed up with ribbons in the colours of your choice. It's an easy way to give your product a splash of personality without having to change much about the product itself.
Create A Personal Connection with Potential Clients
There's something about printed ribbon that creates a personal connection with potential clients. Perhaps it's the fact that it's a physical product that can be touched and felt. Or maybe it's the fact that custom ribbon printing allows you to add a personal touch to your products. Whatever the reason, printed ribbon is an important part of creating a positive customer experience. Imagine walking into a store for the first time and finding what seems like hundreds of different ribbons hanging from racks on one wall. You stand there for minutes trying to decide which one will work best for your needs before finally selecting one only to find out later that it was not what you wanted at all! Now imagine walking into a store with printed ribbon in front of each type of product so customers can immediately make their choice without any hesitation or confusion!
Boost Sales by Highlighting Your Expertise in Printed Ribbon
Customers are often looking for unique, one-of-a-kind items that they can't find at a mass retailer. By custom printing ribbon with your company logo or a special message, you can show your customers that you care about quality and attention to detail. This will boost sales by making your products more memorable and personal. Plus, printed ribbon can be used as a marketing tool to draw attention to your booth or store. Add signage in front of the area where you sell printed ribbon so people know it's there. Keep the sign updated so if something new comes in, it doesn't go unnoticed. You can also choose a colour scheme and print it on your business cards to let people know what kind of ribbon you offer before they walk up to your booth!
Communicate Your Brand to Clients Through Print
Whether you’re a small business or a large corporation, your brand is essential to your success. Your brand is what sets you apart from your competition and communicates who you are to your customers. And one of the most important ways to communicate your brand is through printed materials. In fact, printing represents more than 50% of any company’s branding budget!
We know that when it comes to your custom ribbon printing needs, no two brands are alike. Which is why we offer an array of options for customization on every order.
Through the right choice and custom ribbon printing, we can ensure your customers have a positive experience with your product or service. You can count on us for professional advice on how to bring out the best in your logo by designing effective promotional products that will turn heads wherever they go!
Hand Out Customized Printed Ribbons at Tradeshows and Other Events
Printed ribbon is a great way to show your customers that you care about their experience with your brand. By handing out customized ribbons, you're showing that you're willing to go the extra mile to make sure they have a positive experience. Plus, printed ribbon is a great way to promote your brand and get your name out there. So, if you're looking for a way to make a positive impression on your customer’s, printed ribbon is the way to go!
Build Relationships with The Correct Vendors for Custom Ribbon Design and Printing
Choosing the right distributor for your custom ribbon printing needs is important to ensure a positive customer experience. The right vendor will be able to provide high-quality printed ribbon that meets your specifications. They will also be able to work with you to create a custom design that fits your brand. Building a relationship with the right vendor can help streamline the process and ensure a positive outcome for your business. There are many benefits to finding the right company for this type of project, including: cost efficiency, flexibility, speed, and availability. In addition, using a professional supplier means that you won’t have to worry about quality or meeting deadlines.
