One of the many, many, many reasons why seeing "Antizionists" claim that "Israel is acting just like the Nazis!/Jews are the New Nazis!/Israel is committing a genocide!" and other forms of Holocaust inversion is so incredibly offensive is that these claims undersell the horror of the Holocaust itself.

Let me just give two comparisons to show why the claim of "Zionists are genocidal!" is flat-out wrong.

First, it's been about (as of this writing) 200 days since the Hamas mass murders in early October--just under seven months. In that time, 34,262 Gazans have died according to the Hamas-run Gazan health bureau's official statistics. They are not distinguishing between Hamas' own combatants and civilians (by design), but that is the current death toll as of 29 April, 2024.

And this is a number that is claimed to be proof that Israel is attempting, with intent, to wipe out the Palestinian Gazan population.

Meanwhile, historically, 33,771 Jews were murdered in two days at Babi Yar in what is now Ukraine, near Kyiv, on the 29th and 30th of September, 1941. Three weeks later, on the 22-24th of October, 1941, another 34,000 Jews were killed in Odessa.

Those are just two massacres, each of which was accomplished with 1940s technology, while in the middle of a war with the USSR, each with a death toll comparable to the current death toll of Gazans, including Hamas combatants, each of which took two or three days to do all of the killing.

Compare that to Israel, with far greater technology for killing at its disposal, a civilian populace that is packed into a smaller area, and not having to fight against a technological peer...

And their death toll, while tragic, is at under 1% of the Nazis' own genocidal efforts. And that's because, as hard as it is for people to accept, they're not trying to kill all of the Gazans. They are, in fact, taking tremendous efforts to minimize the casualties (although there are legitimate criticisms to be made about their thresholds for what constitutes acceptable collateral damage to get at Hamas fighters).

But clearly, since they're (((Zionists))), they're the epitome of evil and must be worse than the Nazis.

And all the Jews hear from those claims is a slap in the face to both our dead and the efforts by the IDF to not kill, despite how easy it would be.

The thing is...

If the IDF did want to kill all of the Gazans, they could have easily done a Babi Yar or Odessa level massacre every day starting from October 8. At 33,000 deaths per day for 200 days, that's 6.4 million, or three times the total population of Gaza.

Instead, 98.5% of the Gazan populace is still alive.

But that apparently counts for nothing, and, in fact, "antizionists" are upset that more of them aren't dead, and are instead inflating the numbers...

Because it's more important to them to defame Israel than it is to actually improve the lives of Palestinians.

This is a pretty common question, not just when it comes to China, but also to most socialist states, including the USSR at the time.

in short, the transformation of a country's mode of production takes a very long time. The development and maturation of capitalism took hundreds of years and had many stages: mercantilism, primitive accumulation, national competition, global expansion, and finally, imperialism (the highest stage of capitalism). Socialism will also take a long time to mature. Socialism is not a checklist of haves and have nots. Socialism isn't when collectives or cooperatives. Socialism isn't when no billionaires. Socialism most definitely is not when government does stuff or taxes on rich people.

The transition to socialism requires the development of productive forces. The goal of Reform and Opening Up (改革开放, GGKF) was to build up the productive forces which China lacked at the time. While China had a solid heavy industrial and agricultural base, it lacked in other areas. Additionally, thanks to the Sino-Soviet split, China was left largely isolated without much foreign trade. GGKF achieves this by opening the Chinese market to foreign capitalist investment. These foreign investors pour money into China to build factories, ports, infrastructure, assembly plants, etc., etc., in order to take advantage of cheap Chinese labor. The upside of this policy is the rapid accumulation of productive forces. The downside is intensifying internal contradictions (and if you ask my grandpa, the worst thing GGKF did was introducing liberals to China). Billionaires are a symptom of these intensifying internal contradictions.

China is in a nascent, primitive form of socialism: it has a dictatorship of the proletariat lead by a proletarian party. The party derives its power from the people (who make up the vast vast majority of the party). Between 2003 and 2011, the PRC executed 14 billionaires. The anti-corruption campaign also continues to rack up billionaire heads. Corrupt officials who get extremely wealthy from bribes, too, get executed. When Jack Ma tried to step out of line, his company was seized and broken up (ANT group). The state consistently puts its boots on the necks of the bourgeoisie. At the same time, Chinese worker safety, labor rights, wages, overtime, state intervention, etc. are increasing. This stands in contrast to the dictatorships of the bourgeoisie in the west, most notably america. In the usa, the billionaires control the state and thus can get away with anything they want, and not a single one will face tangible punishment, let alone get executed.

As geopolitics shift, material conditions improve, and internal contradictions are resolved, GGKF will be rolled back as China progresses on its construction of socialism. This is beginning to happen. Since the international bourgeoisie have finally realized that China never intended to liberalize and is still, in fact, a socialist state, The DOTBs that they run are working day and night to slander, sanction, and vilify the PRC. The international institutions, which China had to join in order to effect GGKF, will slowly turn against China, using any excuse to try and squeeze them. But it is largely too late. Using the fruits of GGKF, China has eliminated extreme poverty entirely, resolving one internal contradiction. Its productive forces are good enough that it can begin to carry itself without much western IP and capital. I expect the PRC to further crack down on the excesses of GGKF; indeed, several markets have been entirely eliminated via nationalization already.

Here's some nice trivia! mcdicks in China is 50% state owned and its workforce is entirely unionized! Cool huh? In exchange for access to China's massive market, in their never-ending pursuit for higher and higher profit, the bourgeoisie is willing to partially fund the largest currently-existing socialist state. "The capitalists will sell us the rope", as is often said.

I think there is something to be said about how Israeli propaganda and its disregard for optics is so interestingly ironic. Israel tries soooo hard to appeal to Western audiences which implies it cares about how it's perceived yet no one is buying it except people who are already Zionists. But even then, the propaganda it produces doesn't do it any favours in terms of optics, such as IDF soldiers posting videos of them acting like idiots on TikTok, the apparent "Nazi" and "Hitler" books found in destroyed Palestinian homes yet somehow still in pristine condition, the bombing of hospitals under the guise of them being "Hamas bases," and so on. It also doesn't take much to come across the account of some deluded Israeli who unironically believes shit like "the establishment of Israel was liberating Jewish land from the Arab colonisers" amongst many others, and it becomes obvious how much they either don't realise or just don't care how they sound to people outside of Israel. Like to anyone else, that quote just sounds absurd especially when placed in the global imperial context of anti-Arab racism and Israel's occupation of Palestinians.

I saw this post on my dash. The user is blocked now. But just to educate people so that they won't fall for idiotic claims online, here are a couple of facts:

1. The Islamic Republic is not anti imperialist, they're anti USA. The regime is very much in love with Russian imperialism. At this point, Iran is an unofficial russian colony. And by the support of their imperialist father figure they have their small version of imperialism in middle east. Ask Iraq and Lebanon.

2. There's no "safety" when it comes to economy in Iran. The "national sovereignty" is called "those fvckin thieves in power" here. Iran's regime is one of the most corrupt regimes by international index. Rent, nepotism, embezzlement and money laundering are serious issues in Iran. Done only and only by the governors and people in power. Social class is not only a thing, there's a raging gap between rich people and those in poverty. And the gap is getting bigger and bigger by month. If you have connections in government or you are in the government, you'll get richer and richer. Other wise, soon enough you'll be in poverty too. Many families, including mine, who used to be considered middle class, have incomes lower than the poverty threshold now.

About 15% of Iran's economic failure including inflation is on the sanctions. The rest is on the corruption within the regime.

Iran's banking system is also a corrupted organ. The so called Islamic banking is anything but Islamic. The loan interest rate is one of the highest worldwide, 23%, so that often you have to pay back more than twice the money you've received. It's called Riba in Islam and it's Haram. According to the regime themselves, the banking system in European countries, even in the USA, is more Islamic than us. The fact that some of the biggest embezzlement in Iran has been done by bank managers should give you a picture of how they're drinking our blood.

None of this is on USA imperialism. It's all the Islamic Republic.

3. The Islamic Republic doesn't support Palestinians. The regime is extremely racist and anti Arab. I dare you talk about this with an actual Arab. IR don't give two shites about Palestinians lives. The regime is antisemitic. That's what they are. Palestine is just an excuse to attack Israel. In the past 20+ years of my life, living in Iran and dealing with these posers, not once we've been educated about Palestine and Palestinians lives. Everything I know, I've learned from online resources and documentaries make by Palestinians. The regime doesn't talk about Palestinians when they pose as supporters. I'm pretty sure they don't know or care to know anything noteworthy about Palestine, considering my knowledge of the human rights violations there is always more than basiji people of my country, and I don't even know that much. All the regime talks about is how Israel should be eliminated. IR supports a terrorist organization called Hamas, not Palestinians.

4. Let's forget about everything I said so far. I wonder if tankies like the op has any ounce of humanity in them! The regime has been oppressing women, violating every type of human rights and murdering lgbtq people and other-thinkers for the last 40 years. The spectacular environmental disaster in Iran is the direct result of regime's policies and neglect. This is a case of human rights violation since it's ruining people's lives, especially ethnic minorities, like Arab farmers in south.

No religious minority is safe in Iran, be it atheist, Baha'i, Jew, christian, or Sunni Muslim. They commit crime against children, through labor and through war. IRGC have little regards for human lives in general but it descent into no regards at all for ethnic minorities.

They have MASS EXECUTED 30,000 leftists (members of Marxist Communist parties and their supporters) within the first decade of their autocratic rule. It's unbelievably funny to me when foreign leftists support a regime that has executed many of their fellow thinkers and still arrest and torture any left activist in Iran.

To say the reason the 1979 revolution happened was to get rid of western influence and to establish a democratic free independent government is true. But the Islamic Republic is not that result. Don't be fooled.

Both are deeply invested in a historical conflict that they feel was unjustly lost by their preferred side, and wish to endlessly relitigate and reimagine their preferred Lost Cause.

I'm honestly wondering how long it's going to be before we see an influx of Hamasniks in Alternate History spaces, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the seemingly endless supply "What If the Confederacy/Third Reich had won?" spec-fics. "What if the Arab League had won in 1948?" would be quite on par with those other offerings, I think, with the mass murder and slavery apologia we've already seen from them.

Yes it is important to try not to perpetuate anti-semitism in the fight for Palestinian liberation because if you accept bigotry as a valid cost for social justice, you will fall for the next genocide. We have seen people believe women's oppression makes them incapable of harm be convinced that trans people are a valid target. We have seen queer people's oppression used as a tool of white supremacy. Many of us have probably sat with someone who abused us and heard "how could you accuse an abuse victim of this." At this very moment, we are seeing people who are calling on Jewish trauma and oppression as proof that they could not possibly be committing a genocide. Bad faith actors and powerful people AND everyday citizens with the best intent who have swallowed what they said are all letting genocide happen and using the language of justice to erase it.

Seeing how those people came to believe what they believe, how trauma is intertwined, is not both-sides-ing. The ethics of the occupation are not complicated, it is wrong. But you will become a useful idiot if you use that to justify anti-semitism, or the deaths of civilians, or the absolute exile of immigrants. If you refuse to believe trauma and bigotry inform government, politics, tragedy, what will you do after Palestine is liberated and does not become an immediate leftist utopia? Will you attest to the rights of the civilians to their lives and their homeland if the government becomes right-wing, authoritarian, anti-human?

As an example, look at Ukraine. You do not have to go far to find communist bloggers on here who support, in some way, the Russian invasion. Russia has a long history of imperialism. The war in Ukraine is part of its imperial project. However, Ukraine's government is not communist. The government that Ukrainians voted in is capitalist, centrist. This has proven more important to many communists than actually supporting the right of Ukrainian people to their homeland and to their freedom. They point to nazi sects or capitalist government officials and tell you look. Here. This is why imperialism is the better of two evils. This is why you should forget human rights. These people made the wrong choice. Therefore, they lose the privilege of justice.

Will you be able to believe that a traumatized people who are sucked in by harmful rhetoric still deserve your empathy? Or will you allow yourself to fall into anti-arab, Islamophobic, anti-palestinian rhetoric because it is necessary for some other conflicts simple moral framework? Already, it seems many people deny Hamas has committed war crimes, because they can't believe that a people of whom one political faction does harm might still deserve their human rights. If it becomes inconvenient to deny those crimes or if future crimes occur, will your support for Palestinians dissipate? Who will be the necessary sacrifice for your next movement?

(Qi Ye is a palace intrigue novel btw, so it's amazing that the one character who had zero patience with palace intrigue was the one who accomplished so much lmao.) And all this while being a 20-something borderline-yandere ML obsessed with his first love. What a man. What a legend. Not to mention his epic healer skills were the reason Zhou Zishu survives Faraway Wanderers. Wenzhou get their happy ending because of him! Hi, saw your post on liberation movements and the ideology behind them - especially Palestine.

As a Ukrainian, you’ve had one of the most rational posts I’ve seen. It’s very disheartening to see the very same people and countries who rightfully call out Israel as a colonialist state which needs to be condemned simultaneously justify or overlook what Russia does to us, and has been for hundreds of years.

All liberation movements should be supported, and it should be of consistent standards. South Africa as you said, should bring Israel to justice, but it’s immoral for them to simultaneously engage in exercises and trade with Russia the same year Russia blockaded and starved Mariupol and raped and tortured women and children in Bucha.

Thank you, and I am sorry for what you are going through at the hands of Russia - anyone who denies Russian imperialism is wildly off base.

I've talked about the reasons why I think people who otherwise care about liberation in general are not as supportive of Ukraine as imo we all should be, and I think there's reason for the west to reflect on why it "cares" about Ukraine (the west does not really care about Ukrainians though ofc smdh) and not Palestine or Sudan or Congo or Armenia or West Papua etc etc etc, and it is obviously racism. but that does not mean Ukrainians are not fighting an imperialist aggressor. It is morally just for all to fight their occupiers and colonizers period.

now when it comes to less powerful/global south states aligning with Russia, Iran and/or China... this is where I'm going to kindly push back a tiny bit, or at least maybe give some perspective on this support even though I don't feel good about it and I don't like it lol.

A lot of these countries are getting aid and investment from Russia and China. It's neo-colonialism imo and no one has ever been able to convince me otherwise; sorry weirdos Russia and China (and to a lesser extent Iran) are not supporting these global south countries because they believe in anti-imperialism and resistance (lmao) but because they want to shore up support against the west amongst nations that have been oppressed and brutalized by the west. I'm not going to condemn them for accepting money and not wanting to sour relations with them.

I mean we could say the same about Ukraine accepting aid from the US and other European nations (all of which have that power and aid to give because of stolen wealth through colonialism, slavery and imperialism - and have had the most negative impact on the world). That CLEARLY has informed the government of Ukraine's support of Israel in the past few years, even with the caveats that I am aware that Ukraine's large Jewish population does tend to support zionism and Israel, and that of course there is a large Ukrainian population in Israel, as well as Zelenskyy personally supporting Israel. But in general that doesn't explain why Ukrainians support Israel at least according to the polling I've seen.

This Kyiv-based KIIS poll of just over 1000 Ukrainians from December is stark - 66% of ukrainians support Israel, 1% support Palestinians, 18% support both sides equally and 12% weren't sure. Now this poll or organization is clearly biased in favor of Israel, from this... interesting (lol) takeaway:

I mean obviously one poll is not really indicative of anything, but I'm not terribly surprised. This is why I stress the importance of liberatory politics, because anyone with eyes can see that Israel is the aggressor here, same as Russia in Ukraine. But I'm also gonna give some grace to people currently fighting off an aggressor of their own. Doesn't excuse it, I wish world leaders would be more consistent, but it is what it is.

I see more support from Palestinians to Ukrainians than vice versa, and of course there are Ukrainian Palestinians and Palestinian Ukrainians, and idk how they feel about the idiots discoursing on tumblr dot com but hopefully they don't bother with it lol. You all - Ukrainians, Palestinians - have way more important things to deal with and don't need us internet weirdos getting on you all about this shit.

The rest of us? We can and should reflect on why we support various liberation movements and not others. Everyone should be free - I don't care if Ukraine gets funding from a totally cancelable #problematic shithole country like the United States of Hell, I'm happy we are on the right side of this... and I'm furious that politicians here are trying to tie Ukraine aid to fucking Israel genocide money and so-called border security funding (although my understanding is that got dropped thanks to Republicans being unhinged lol thank god). I am not going to blame Ukrainians for being mad about the holdup here, but also... idk man it's a good thing Israel didn't get more aid, and it's very good that our stupid border hawks didn't get their way either. I think it would be horrible if Ukrainian liberation had the cost of aiding a genocide. And I hate that preventing more genocide aid to Israel in this case meant preventing Ukraine from getting aid.

Unfortunately geopolitics are very, very messy and every country that isn't a global power depends on powerful countries for something. It's not about morality. Which is why states suck and should be abolished lol but that's another topic for another day.

Visibly Jewish students no longer feel safe in their classrooms, at gatherings or on the street in Europe, the United States, Canada and beyond.

The Jewish state was created to protect Jews from their 2,000-year-old vulnerability to pogroms and genocide while in exile. The existence of that very state is now being used as the excuse for a monstrous “intifada” against all Jews in the West. It is driven by the lethal propaganda against Israel that has been disseminated for at least 60 years. It may take that long to drain this swamp of lies.

But, as ever, this is far bigger than the Jews.

Right now, more than one billion Westerners are being surrounded on their streets and in the media by the war cries of “Allahu Akbar.” Everyone, everywhere has been held psychologically and often physically hostage by the “globalized jihad.”

Psychologically speaking, the media, college professors, the United Nations and the surging swarms in the streets have projected the atrocities committed by Islamic terrorists onto Jews and the Jewish state.

For decades, decent people, Jews and non-Jews, have been bombarded with slogans like “Death to the Jews,” “Nazi Israel,” “Hitler did not get the job done,” “Zionists are criminals” and every other hideous libel one can imagine. We have been subjected to non-stop lies in the elite media. Whatever Hamas terrorists tell journalists is reported as fact. Whatever instantly verifiable footage the IDF shows is reported as “Israel says.”

Imagine the psychological and traumatizing effect that such non-stop hatred has on all Westerners.

What must we do? In the short run, President Joe Biden must stop appeasing and funding Iran—the main supporter and financier of global jihad.

If we don’t act, they will come for all of us sooner rather than later. Israel alone cannot be expected to fight the battle for Western civilization.
