Headcanon: Raihan would gladly accept Ash's needy requests for cuddles, even in the middle of important League business.

Literally no one can forget that one time when Raihan was in the midst of a video call, and Ash simply climbs into Raihan's lap, silently begging for cuddles. Raihan, without hesitation, lets Ash burrow under his hoodie, and snuggles him, all the while discussing the latest updates for the Galar League, even as the other participants stare in utter bemusement.

off topic in the beginning but I swear it circles back to this- I'm honestly surprised there weren't more like domesticated covid fics for Pokémon, there probably was and I just complexly missed them but all the brief times I searched through Ash's tag on AO3 I barely saw anything, because one of my own favorite Aurafangshipping is Ash and Raihan bunking together before the covid outbreak really took hold of their world and all the airports were shut down and boats were docked. so, it's really common for others to see Ash in the background of Raihan's zoom screen and vice versa. most often then naught one is on top of the pther during calls, mostly asleep like they were there for a while before the call started.

unexpected game review here but. last night i finished metroid prime remastered for the first time and?? what a fucking game?? that final boss was long and hard fr and took me a lot of tries but it was GOOD and i cant remember the last time i felt this satisfied beating a game. maybe like twilight princess when i was 12

I've spoken about this before, though it was years ago, but I just saw a post about it and wanted to write my thoughts again.

Because the talking point of "money doesn't buy happiness" ended up being a pretty major contributor for my deconversion of the christian faith.

I was at bible study one night and the topic came up, specifically regarding poor people of other countries (fundie christian thing, tied to short term mission trips. A soap box for another time) and I decided to chime in with something I'd learned about in psych class.

That people who have their basic needs met are overall happier than people who don't. (shocking I know) So if money buys people their basic needs, it WOULD make them happier.

This is a scientifically proven fact that has been peer reviewed, but everyone in the group was like, "nah, I don't believe that. Guess we'll just agree to disagree."

And my internal reaction was like wtf, because you can't just disagree with a fact you don't like, that's not how it works. And it made me realize christians just Don't Care about facts when they challenge their beliefs.

And this was a big turning point for me because if they didn't believe this scientific fact, which other parts of science were they choosing to disregard.

Obviously, evolution was a big one, but there are definitely others.

Anyways. This moment is part of why I'm an apostate now :3

i made a chickpea curry for the first time since i did au pair work, so really the first time i’ve made it for just myself and not a family i was working for. the smell of it is giving me such intense and vivid memories of that chaotic ass family idk if i can even eat it

cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes
