The Alderaanian Royal Guard gets really protective of the Coruscant Guard. Like. Really protective. At some point the people start treating the Corries better if only because they know that there is always an Alderaanian somewhere in the vicinity. Sometimes it's the Senator himself. Once or twice it was the Queen. But there is always at least one member of the Royal Guard there. Somewhere. For people who say they are pacifists, they seem really bloodthirsty.
After a while, people are starting to figure out that they might've been just supressing any murderous intents up until now, and it's better if you don't tempt them too much.
(The word got out at some point that Fox was dating the Queen and the Senator and that it was serious. The Royal Guard immediately turned on the Prince treatment. Fox bluescreened the first time one of them opened a door for him.)

I've been thinking about the tragedy of Elizabeth Woodville living to see the death of her family name.
I don't mean her family with her husband, which lived on through her daughter and grandson. I mean her own.
Her sisters died, one by one, many of them after 1485. When Elizabeth died, only Katherine was left, and she would die before the turn of the century as well.
All her brothers died, too. Lewis died in childhood. John was executed. Anthony was murdered. Lionel died suddenly in the peak of Richard's reign, unable to see his niece become queen. Edward perished at war. Richard died in grieving peace. For all the violence and judgement the family endured, it was "an accident of biology" that ended their line: none of the brothers left heirs, and the Woodville name was extinguished. We know the family was aware of this. We know they mourned it, too:
“Buy a bell to be a tenor at Grafton to the bells now there, for a remembrance of the last of my blood.”
Elizabeth lived through the deposition and death of her young sons, and lived to see the end of her own family name. It must have been such a haunting loss, on both sides.

A couple various Magolor outfits (Clash cause I realized I only had half finished sketches of that outfit and also Yukari Yakumo from Touhou cosplay for fun) and also Oh hey yeah that thing!
Ummm let’s see, words are hard right now but I should probably give my explaining myself spiel and I’ve already been putting off this post for like a month and a half. Clash outfit was fairly self-evident; I thought it looked good with the red added (apple colors hehe) and I of course couldn’t resist throwing some classic lolita in there. Unlike his usual outfit there’s not space for his wings to stretch out in the back bc Clash is like. Theoretically it’s chill but they’ve got a lotta post-traumatic stress/paranoia/insecurity that morphs into weird tension with the main gang back in the usual universe and then doesn’t fully start getting resolved until after Star Allies (I have other sketches of this outfit - and just other Magolor doodles in general; particularly I’ve been trying to figure out digitigrade leg posing - but I don’t feel like posting them here so I guess you can find them at um. Kirby live radio wiki community feed)
Yukari outfit I had the idea for cause I was thinking abt qi lolita again. Not much to say aside from I figured out why they don’t ever give her the parasol with this dress; it is a distressing amount of light pink to deal with and between that and the pose and parasol shape I sweated my way through most of this piece lol
Aaand Magolor Epilogue a.k.a. self-recognition through the other (derogatory) ….. TWO!! I had the idea for Master Crown boss to bear an uncanny resemblance to 2nd phase Magolor/Magolor Soul a long time ago but like. Turns out it was scarily close already; I just had to add a head and a couple fingers.
Ok that’s it see you in a half hour byeee

Simon having a reoccurring nightmare where someone he loves falls under the crown's influence and he's powerless to stop it, despite his firsthand experience. The same thing always happens, the transformation is like a video being played on fast forward, flying past the stage where there's still time to knock it off their head and save them from the curse. And then, they descend into madness that rivals his own... he's seen it happen to Betty, Marceline, his parents. And every time, without fail, at the end he's presented with a choice to don the crown again to selflessly release them from its grip or watch them spiral into nothing.
And he chooses the first option, every time, and wakes up with a deep, inescapable longing to find it again.

As of late I've been obsessed with two fandoms: Les mis and Merlin (yes I'm ten years late on everything) so rightfully I decided to mash the two and this is the result
A Les Mis Merlin!AU,
starring Enjolras as Arthur and Les amis as the knights, bar grantaire that is gonna be Merlin.
Enjolras is a prat in a different way from Arthur, he tends to fail to see from others' prospective and is quite oblivious to feelings and emotional nuance. As a noble he would lack the ability to understand _why_ poor people/sorcerers _don't_ fight for better treatment. He expects them to. He doesn't understand having too much on your plate to do that, nor fearing for your life
Grantaire as Merlin would be a much more reclutant Emrys. He is a cynic, but it'd stem from being constantly scared of death. He'd bring Enj down a notch and make him see the reality of being a commoner, or of having magic. He is so strong he is afraid of his own power, and he doesn't want the weight of the responsability; every magic person is counting of him and he is convinced that he would fail them if he tried.
In this AU magic would be banned in Camelot by the king (role that would fit Javert to a T, ignoring the familiar relations) but Arthur!Enjolras would be pro magic from the start, AND somewhat open about that position. He is the head the knights and has a inner circle made of Les amis that are also pro magic.
I think it would make the most sense for grantaire to keep the magic to himself, even after knowing their stance on it. Maybe it could be revealed that he is a magic user early on, but he would keep being Emrys under wraps. Destiny is shit anyway.
He would gladly lay his life down for Enj and do anything for him tho, as we well know. He would bicker and fight and piss him off but his magic IS for Enj. He believes in the future of Albion just because he believes in Enjolras; destiny is shit and he won't be its bitch but one thing it got right, grantaire would not stop at anything to keep his king safe.
The other characters are more muddy:
I think Cosette could be a (good!)Morgana. Enj's half sibling, with powerful magic. BUT she could also be a good Gwen, with Marius as Lancelot and Jean Valjean as the town forger.
With Cosette as Morgana, Eponine could be her Gwen (and Cosette x Eponine x Marius would work so well here). Gwen!Eponine makes sense because it would keep her lower class status AND would put her in the position to be Grantaire first and best friend in Camelot.
I think that what would make the most sense about the line of succession would be for Enj and Cosette to be half siblings, children of a Duke who had an affair with Fantine (not that Fantine would...you can make this tragic); Fantine then married Jean Valjean (posing as a noble) to keep her honor and give Cosette a father (Valjean is perfectly aware of all of this. They made a patch). Tragedy struck and Enj parents die, so he is taken in by Javert (the king, enj's father brother) because he doesn't have any other descendant and Enj is now the second in line.
Fantine dies and Valjean is discovered to be an impostor posing as noble, and is forced to flee. Javert takes Cosette from him because he know the truth of her birth, so she is rightfully in line for the throne too.
I think most other roles could be shuffled around getting more distant from canon Merlin; we should have Joly as the court physician (or at least apprentice, as opposed to grantaire). Musichetta has her hands full running The Rising Sun, or another tavern/inn. Jehan is a druid in my heart, he could be Enj's contact with the old religion and its people.
Also Jean Valjean could be good not-related-to-Grantaire Balinor. It would give him a reason to be in hiding, and to be hated by Javert
Anyway this is all I have for now, but I'll probably add more later

“Now you can go wherever you want to go!
Now you can do whatever you want to do!
Now you can be whatever you want to be,
And love is the song you will sing your whole life through!”
~“There is Music in You” from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella
x~x~x~x
Yay, here’s that other Cinderella AU art I’ve been working on...a proper “happily-ever-after” image for the newly crowned King Cosimo “Orion” Amari and the “Maiden of the Glass Slipper,” Queen Carewyn Cromwell!
I imagined this as being a “portrait” hung up in Florence’s palace for many, many years after these two’s deaths, hence the “symbolism” in some of their fashion choices -- Orion decked out in Florence’s flag’s color scheme (green and gold) while Carewyn is dressed in Royaume’s (red and blue), since she was born and raised there; Carewyn wearing a crown-inspired earring both reminiscent of Royaume’s flag crest and held in Orion’s hand, since her role as queen was something she inherited through marrying him; and finally the “glass slipper” on Carewyn’s foot poking out from under her dress. In the last’s case, I headcanon that Florence’s people was so charmed by the tale of their future queen saving their king’s life that Carewyn was gifted many such “glass slippers” over the years by her subjects and courtiers, decorated with everything from real glass to diamonds. Most of them weren’t comfortable enough to actually wear, but Carewyn still accepted every such gift with grace and gratitude. Carewyn’s wearing her hair loose -- something she started doing a lot more often after finally being free to be with Orion -- and Orion and Carewyn are also both wearing the matching gold and emerald coronets they first wore on their wedding day, so as to signify their equality as partners and their shared desire to be approachable to peasants and noblemen alike. And indeed, their legacy after death was as two of the wisest and kindest rulers Florence had ever had, instilling financial and legal reforms and investing in higher education, and were survived in future generations by a new port city rife with trade and commerce named for their friend and ally King Andre of Royaume; a crown-protected nature reserve; multiple hospitals, courthouses, libraries, and orphanages; and a university named for the queen’s brother.
Orion’s outfit was partially inspired by this painting by Giovanni Battista Moroni from the 16th century, with a capelet appropriate to the period. Meanwhile Carewyn’s was inspired by this beautiful dress worn by Olivia Hussey in the 1968 film production of Romeo and Juliet, though with a different color palette!
Much love, all! Have a magical day! ✨

As much as I love the tragedy of Lyon and his unrequited love for both Renais twins, I agree that the banner should've had other characters. Keep Myhrr, add Morva, change the duo to Joshua/Natasha, add Ismaire and then, idk, Caellach or Gerik as the TT reward. But seeing the cyl results and Lyon still doing great even after daddy Fomortiis I'm not surprised they're milking this dry and probably will make Lyon more of a tragic bisexual disaster rather than someone with a hurt ego in an hypothetically remake of Sacred Stones. But the thing I don't agree with is that the trend of dead dads stopped in this banner, I think it stopped with the fates banner as we did not get Valentines Garon (we were ROBBED) and Valentines Mikoto/Sumeragi; and even before the fates banner we can argue if the awakening banner also broke the trend (depends if you count the robins' and chrom as dead parents when they're only dead in a timeline we only get to experience in dlc). And tbh I think breaking trends is kind of nice, wish they did the same with other banners (tired already of the harem jokes on bridal and the playboy/playgirl suits in easter).
CAELLACH ALT
Sing it with me anon!
TBF about Lyon's popularity in CYL... Fomortiis couldn't be voted for!
And FEH feeds itself - by bringing more light to old characters through their own depiction, CYL voters will vote for Lyon based as the version they see in CYL, not the Lyon we got in FE8.
So yeah, I guess people will now remember him as a "tragic bisexual disaster" of a character, and not the egomaniac who thought he could go toe to toe against Satan to "win" the love of the twins and his people.
(heck, FE13's depiction of Lyon was closer to the character than FEH's!)
You're right about the previous Valentine's banner, but it completely escaped me lol, since it was a Fates seasonal and I don't really have a lot of feelings for Fates' cast.
Chrom at least was in his "father" role, because Lucina was there - ditto for Lissa.
I'd say breaking the trend bring more freshness... but those trends are the only occasions to have some characters added in, sure Vigarde was brought in his zombie form last year - but without the "dead parents" Valentine, would FEH really had an occasion to bring Vigarde? Fado? Morva? Ismaire??
That's why I was so pissed at dragonween ending (i know flayn is a lizard) - Dragonween was the only (because I don't have faith in FEH) opportunity to get less known dragons released (the Goldoans!), or even alts for the most serious ones (Duo!Duma lol), but now it was just... a seasonal banner with popular character and maybe one oddball like any other.
I agree on the harem jokes for the bridal banners though, but it's in general tiredness for the bridal banners in themselves, even if I liked bridal Louise and bridal Pent - it's a tiresome banner only to sell characters in white and poofy dresses with, sometimes, a breast modifier and the less is said about the easter banners, the better we are lol
(unless they go full bara for this year's easter banner, with Izuka Daizuke's league of vilains, Bunny!Ashnard, Bunny!Medeus, Bunny!Hardin, Bunny!Fomortiis...)
A trend I would like to see disappear though is the Fodlan summer - I'd love swimsuit!Seteth as much as Mythic!Willy - but this grows really stale. They even joked about it last year in the TT, but damn, let it go IS, please.

'Today is the day someone was brought into this world, while another namelessly left it. I'm talking about my birth mother. I hear she passed away even before having a sip of the soup for mothers. The former king refused to appoint a nanny to rear the bastard son who had killed his wife, so I was nursed on this seaweed soup, instead of breast milk. I wanted to call him father just once, but he... never allowed it.'
