I have never used Spotify

I was patiently waiting for someone to tag me in the Spotify game, just so I could tell all of y'all that I have NEVER used Spotify, so thanks @wen-kexing-apologist!

The tag game is supposed to be to put your On Repeat playlist on Spotify on shuffle and listen to the first 10 songs, so instead I'll offer you ten random ridiculous facts about me:

I have never used Spotify, and since I have a huge collection of vinyl records and CDs, I won't ever use it.

I am a horrible Catholic which means I sin a lot, but I excel at self-depreciation, so I enjoy it.

I have been a vegetarian for almost two decades solely because meat tastes disgusting to me, which means I hate the smell of bacon.

I don't like Reese's, so I was always popular at Halloween because I would give my entire bag away since the smell of Reese's would seep onto everything. I don't like coffee either, so I'm also popular at the end of the year because I give away my coffee shop gift cards that students have gifted me.

I have not watched a C-drama since the country's censorship, so every time someone makes a Word of Honor or The Untamed reference, I have no idea what's happening. None. I don't even know what the plot is for those shows.

I have never watched a Mame show, and I have only seen one Star Wars film. It was the one with Diego Luna. I understood nothing and was very upset when everyone died because I had no idea what the fuck the Death Star was.

My phone is a BlackBerry.

I have no piercings nor tattoos. Not even my ears are pierced.

If a show isn't queer or queer-coded, I ain't watching it. I maybe watch one "straight" show or movie a year. This year's was The Glory, and that show was perfect so no need to watch the straights do anything else in 2023.

The most ridiculous - I unknowingly took acid at a music festival (test your drugs, kids!), and a group of sunflowers were extremely suspicious to me during the trip because I felt they were judgingly staring at me, so JoongDunk's symbol being a sunflower greatly perturbs me.

The Woods Are My Home: Lexa had always loved the woods. (I mean, I wasn’t wrong)

Karma, Friend or Foe: The smell of freshly ground coffee engulfed Clarke's senses as she stepped into Grounders Cafe.

Witch’s Chimney: Lexa could smell the petrichor in the air; rain was imminent. (Technically, my first sentence. Mozz wrote chapter 1 and the first part of chapter 2)

Sonraun Rein Kiken (A Life Worth Living): Lexa stood outside Clarke’s door, hesitant to knock. (This is a new canon fic that will be debuted tomorrow for ClexaWeek24)

Not only does he have Carlos by his side to help him navigate through it – but a whole armada of friends who all come to his rescue. || I truly love how many people love this fic. It was one of my earlier ones in this fandom and basically just written for my own guilty pleasure of "revenge" fics on Alex - it's good to see that so many people seem to agree with me 😏

Most Kudos: Again, I Heard You've Been Missing Me, which is actually my first Lone Star fic to reach over 1000 kudos 🥰

Keina Suda-無垢 (Muku)-Kamisama no Ekohiiki

I love jrock and Keina Suda has such a unique style and voice. It was so nice hearing the song at the end of each episode. Plus it was such a great choice for the show with an upbeat first impression but the chaotic sounds of rock and Keina Suda's emotional almost crying voice. It works so well for the themes and tone of the show.

2. PoLin-蝴蝶 (Butterfly)-DNA Says Love You

A beautiful song for a beautiful show! When I finished watching, I listened to the song over the next week whenever I wanted to recapture the feelings, emotion, and affect of the show. And it's a beautiful song in it's own right!

3. Tulanan Narasetapisarn-หรูเหอ 如何 (Skyline)-I Told Sunset About You

ITSAY is a stunning show and skyline fits so beautifully giving us a strong aesthetic perspective from moment one. I love every version including both Bilkin and PP Krit's, but I go with Tulanan's because it sets up the show so well as a full artistic piece.

4. Moonlight Chicken Cast-The Moon Represents My Heart-Moonlight Chicken

Once again a song that beautifully sets up the tone and artistic perspective of the show. I loved it even more after learning about the song's cultural significance in the chinese diaspora and as a queer love song. If you get a chance go read through some of the many youtube comments, so many different stories about the songs presence and meaning in people's lives. Maybe a month back I was in a nearby city and got to hear a busker perform it on the erhu.

5. HIROBA featuring Ōtsuka Ai-ふたたび (Futatabi)-The End of the World, With You

So pretty, so melancholic and a fantastic ending song for the show.

Okay and a special shout out to Tilly Birds and Jeff Satur who have eaten up a lot of my music listening time since QLs introduced me to them *weeps*

Also as a bonus I thought I'd share another queer Asian artist. They haven't done anything for a QL (though they do have an album called BL), but why not share some other queer Asian artists while I'm at it.
