I wanna know about Jake’s gay awakening 😂 like did he have a crush on Ice or something? How did Ice find out? Did Ron tell him in an attempt to make light of the situation lol

Okay so full disclosure here. I write things in my notes when I’m drunk sometimes, I found this idea in there. I basically decided wft yeah sure I’ll add that. But here’s a bit more soberly thought out version-

Jake grows up knowing he can love whoever he want to, when he’s 13 he kisses a girl. Doesn’t do much for him. He figures he’s bisexual, Ron’s bi he’s talked to Jake about the one ex girlfriend he had in the very beginning of collage.

Chris? Gay. So very gay.

He looks around at Texas and knows it might be a bit harder for him to kiss a guy.

He grew up hearing stories, and seeing the videos and pictures of Ron and Tom. Doesn’t really remember Tom, knows he was around a lot when he was young but other then the light smell of a cigar and knowing how easy he was able to pick Jake up there’s not much. Knows Ron misses him like a limb.

He’s just turned 17 and finds the picture of Ice and Mav on the ship again. Suddenly it clicks.

Shit. He likes men.

Only men.

He looks at Ice for a second, damn. He’s pretty, the smile is a killer. Glances over at Mav, pretty hair.

Jake drops the photos. He knows one other gay single kid in school for sure. Time to go find Liam.

He figures some stuff out.

He comes home after hockey and sits with his dads. He comes out, they of course tell him they don’t care. They love him. Ron asks if there’s anyone, Jake doesn’t know if he can’t get any redder. Chris asks how he figured it out. Jake buries his face into his hands, “the picture. And no not really just made out with Liam.”

“Wait the picture? Chickie as in the picture of Tom and Mav??” Jake let’s out a whine. “Yes.” Chris laughs, “oh my god which one of them.”

Jake smacks his head on his hands. “Both but mostly Ice. Please god forget everything I said now.”

“Baby I’m going to bring this up forever.”

I've read your tags on a few posts, and I just wanted to say, you're not alone, you are doing your best, and I am so proud of you for keeping on trying despite the hard circumstances. I see you trying. Trying is the working hard part. I know jobs sucks painfully sometimes, but no matter what, you find something to keep going for.

It really is the little things in life that bring pleasure. I am proud of you for even going back to school. I believe in you. And just like a mentality of 'work hard at your job till you retire' is spread, so is a 'never give up, and if you do, you're a quitter, and a quitter is a failure' mentality. I just wanted to say it is absolutely okay to know when to give up sometimes. You are not your mistakes when you were/are mentally ill. You are loved, supported and going through a tough time right now and need all the love and support you can get, and I wanted to remind you to give yourself the same amount of grace, love, affection and support too.
