I don’t care about her living off of Elvis but I kinda wish Priscilla didn’t erase his other girlfriends from his story like Anita Wood, Ann Margret, and Linda Thompson

this is an interesting topic for sure. I’ve wondered if anyone else has noticed that there is kind of a hierarchy in the elvis world regarding girlfriends and friends of elvis. and it can especially be seen by what elvis presley enterprises chooses to promote

like for example, Dixie Locke and Priscilla became good friends later on in life. And I think that has influenced Dixie Locke’s book being sold on the Graceland website and maybe even why she was shown in the Elvis movie. You would definitely never see something like Ann Margret’s book or Joyce Bova’s being promoted. I have noticed that elvis presley enterprises doesn’t want to put any attention on girlfriends whose time with Elvis overlapped with Priscilla’s, like Joyce Bova, Ann Margret and Anita Wood for example.

even at Graceland where Elvis’ tcb ring is displayed I heard that the tour guide doesn’t mention that the diamond on it isn’t the original, and that the original diamond is with Ginger Alden as it was used to make her engagement ring which she still has to this day. regardless of what you think of Ginger, to completely ignore her engagement with Elvis is crazy to me

As for Linda I was honestly really surprised that she had no mention in the Elvis movie at all. I understand the movie was more about Elvis and the colonel’s relationship but to ignore almost 5 years of Elvis’ life with Linda is crazy. But I think it was to show some narrative like Elvis was never able to move on from Priscilla, which I don’t think is true and is unfair to women like Linda, Sheila and Ginger who had significant relationships with him. Idk how much control Priscilla actually has, especially now, and from my understanding she wasn’t involved in the movie but I sometimes think maybe Baz did certain things to appease Priscilla but I can’t say for sure👀

I think all Elvis history is worth knowing, and it’s definitely not fair to just pick and choose

Aleksandar/Aleksandra: A finds MC bothersome. They try to spend as little amount of time as they can with MC because they find comfort in that. They believe MC is some sort of tyrant like most of their family had reputations of being. That's why, if MC acts soft toward them, they're confused.

Rhys/Rhea: R doesn't know MC yet. They flirt as easily as they breathe, so it's really something to look too deeply into yet. They're the sort of person that waits to judge until they know.

Calixta/Calix: C doesn't care enough about MC to have a first impression. But they think that they'll have a tough time adjusting.

Mestra/Mestrn: M pities MC. They know it must be hard to live somewhere foreign.

mianite bloodborne au that I just never finished writing for.

basically, Sparklez is the main character, i.e. our moon scented hunter and he wakes up zero clues and ideas about where he’s at and who he is but he learns one thing immediately and that is that he’s gotta hunt.

His first boss fight (the only one I’ve got figured out in my brain) is Andor who he watches turn into this huge fucking amalgam of feathers and righteous anger. While up until this point he was fighting mobs of beasts and messed up townsfolk, this would be his first real taste of an actual challenge. Andor himself was pushed to his limits between being forced to worship gods he doesn’t care for and being ignored, he succumbed to become what he does.

Before all that, in a place that the present time regards as “old yharnam”, Spark and Jeriah take in two, maybe orphaned, children.

Capsize and Redbeard are originally from Fishing Hamlet but they do 100% lie about everything to Spark and Jeriah so what the truth is, they don’t really have a concrete understanding of their past.

Jeriah is a vileblood and a hunter, and Spark used to hunt with him, but after a near death experience takes him out and now he upgrades other hunter’s weapons and helps fix the damages caused by beasts. In the present he would definitely be a boss Jordan would have to fight.

Because of the nature of this world, everything goes to shit eventually. Jeriah takes Capsize under his wing and does teach her how to hunt efficiently, unfortunately because he cares about he cannot in good conscious let her join his blood knights and that causes a lot of strife between, so much so that she does go hunting, although not on her own. She does get blood drunk and slowly deteriorates into a beast, but she is killed before she fully turns into one.

Spark takes Redbeard under his own wing, though Red doesn’t take to fixing weaponry as easy as Capsize takes to fighting. Redbeard has an eye (the red one) that is hypersensitive to beings (great ones) that are hidden to most, this does cause a lot of pain and he gets an eyepatch that helps with the pain.

So Ianite and Spark don’t get together here and I realized that because Spark is genetically related to like three integral characters, it’s hard to find an explanation for their existence in the story. Of course I could just ignore that but then I’d know I was purposefully ignoring that and it’d just fuck with me. So, I gave up on writing it lmao.

I'm an artist and graphic designer, so I completely get people's outrage and frustration (especially on Tumblr, where outrage is already amplified and cranked up to 11), but at the same time, they're letting the outrage blind them to reality. AI is here. It's not going away. People can do their absolute best to foil it and discourage its use -- and that's completely fair -- but, to a certain degree, all you're doing is effectively training the AI to be better at working around those measures. Developers are not going to be like, "*sigh*, well, guys, they're just throwing too many roadblocks as us, let's pack it in." It's here. At a certain point people need to suck it up or get off Tumblr and look into supporting legislation that better controls it. But ultimately, I think there's a level of futility to all of it. If you can't stop it, learn how to use it to your advantage. My company has signed up for OpenAI so that we can do just that. I use it to generate stock images that don't exist, and that I don't have time to manually create on my own. I use it to create reference photos or images (that don't already exist) for myself that are hard for me to mentally conceptualize, so that I can create my own art. People LOVE to be angry. It's been more than 10 years since it's become an online hobby for most people. The whole point of your Tumblr, and the reason that I enjoy it so much, is because it is a complete departure from that constant, seething outrage that does no one any good, and has no positive returns. I've already voted in the poll, but -- do what you love. Block the haters. It's the best you can do to maintain this nice, sweet, cozy corner you've created for yourself and those who enjoy it.

This was really well put. At the end of the day no matter if I continue to post ai content it will still exist. I’m not the mastermind behind ai, I can barely remember how to mod my sims game properly.

Also like you said artist themselves use ai to help with their art. Not every ai picture is taken from stole art. Sometimes it’s for like you said, stock photos, or just to properly visualize what you’d like to do.

While I also understand people’s frustration I never meant to offend anybody. You are right though. The whole point of me making this tumblr was because I was in a very bad stop mentally. I did want to eat, I had nightmares when I slept. I didn’t see any beauty in the world and I didn’t want to be apart of it anymore. This was very hard to deal with and I was withering away.

I thought to myself “maybe just make a blog, about the world and its beauty, about food and how it can be good, about sleep and how it can be healing. Maybe if I only look at beautiful things, things will start to feel beautiful again”

I didn’t create this blog to fight with tumblr about ai. I created it for me and people like me who need an escape from the harshness and cruelty of reality. The idea was always to post about earth and her beauty, no matter if it was human made or earth made, to remind me how much more there is to life and that not all humans harm and destroy, some give and create.

🔥 for a popular headcanon/trope in the fandom!

Oh god, I have a few, but I will acknowledge some are more merited than others.

I don't like the idea that everyone *has* to be related, in some type of way. Like how everyone is somebody's brother/sister/mom/ dad etc. But that's purely because I like to look at the jellicles as a community that accepts regardless of relations.

Also, it makes the whole “this character left to be with Macavity” bit really redundant for me. (I've seen it with Dem, Bomba, Mungo, Alonzo, Rump. ) often at the same time- Like how do you get that many family members dropping you and then coming back? What kind of wack fam is that?

3. That headcanon where the Deut bros date Demeter and Bomba who are also siblings. Ew. Like, this is purely personal but like siblings who date siblings was always just weird to me and the fact they’re both their older brothers exes….pass. Its like when identical twins daye other identical twins- I just can’t get behind it. But the Deut bros headcanon has never been a favorite of mine so this isn’t that surprising.

Characters:

Itadori Yuuji

I like to quote this post by @/lets-curse-each-other a like the starter explanation to why Yuuji is an absolute masterpiece as a character and also the best boi. This post not only shows the peak of the iceberg that is Yuuji's personality but it only hints who much attention Gege gives to his characterisation.

I also love Yuuji because he's written in quite a unique way for a protagonist of a shounen manga, ie. more like a shoujo manga protagonist, and I wrote more about that here. His character journey is absolutely stunning, at every point his teenage beliefs that he developed to deal with his loneliness and the loss he has suffered, get questioned, rhetorically and generally attacked. He constantly needs to deal with his worldview and coping mechanisms being shuttered. And he still manages to be caring, to retain so much of himself.

And lastly I like his character design, it works really well both when he's really cute and when he's taken to his limits.

Kenjaku

They are the absolute fucking worst. They are an amazing plotter, like on a reread it's absolutely stunning how well their plans are prepared, how we see them perfect said plans. I have massive, massive respect for Kenjaku as a villain. They are such a manipulative lair. During my first reread I started compiling a file with all their scenes where I wrote whether I thought that they were lying in that scene and how because my ADHD wouldn't let me sleep, I kept thinking about them.

I love their mad scientist vibes, it's so sad no one wants to listen to them explaining their evil plans, and no one wants to nerd out with them about cursed energy (I'm looking here at you Tengen and Sukuna). Though to be fair, they kill the person who'd've likely been the most into such nerdy conversations, namely Yuki.

Of course it matters to me that they're Yuuji's mum. That makes their character even more juicy and horrible. Their whole twisted connection to motherhood is chefs kiss.

Nobara and Hana

I'm putting them both here together, despite them never meeting in the manga, because for me they both embody the awkwardness of being a teenage girl just on the opposite sides of the spectrum. There is a lot of societal stigma put onto teenage girls. Starting from how they should be.

Nobara is trying to define womanhood for herself while also clearly not being versed in issues of modern feminism. it feels very fitting for a girl her age. Some of the things she likes that are appropriate for girls from the society's point of view and some that are not so much, so she lands at girlboss feminism.

I also love that her reason for joining the Tokyo school is very much not jujutsu oriented. She's not there because of the politics of the clans like some many other students, or because it was join or die.

I hope that Nobara returns, though I'd be also okay with Gege just letting me grieve her at this point.

Hana is trying to orient herself through a crush she has on a guy who saved her life long ago. A guy she doesn't really know but she has created an image of in her head, it's a purely parasocial relationship so many teen girls have. Now I think Hana will be on her journey to reorient herself, build her self image outside of Megumi.

I low key hope that Yuuji will pop Angel's soul out of Hana and set her free, Hana not Angel, that 1000yo selfish sorcerer should join her ilk in the dumpster of history where they are all hopefully headed.

Yorozu

She's a rabid Sukuna simp so like mega relatable ;) But more seriously I love her powers, how much thought she put into them. She's an amazing jujutsu nerd, another friend Kenjaku could've had if they put her in a different body, one Sukuna wouldn't want to kill.

I love her creepy wedding plans but most of all I love that she's pursuing Sukuna for status. The things she wants of him are so appropriate for a Heian woman to want. It's a really cool bit. And she has the classic het relationship energy of "I can fix him". That's why you don't indulge in heterosexuality, kids.

I wish she actually joined the villain cast and remained there longer, she had amazing energy.

Sukuna

Another jujutsu nerd, but he's like embarrassed of it or something because he pretends he's not one. He's very above that nerd shit but also that's how he is the strongest and how he wins fights. He's amazingly not self aware. It's the same with his being so detached when he's very clearly capable of having really healthy relationships with others like he has with Uraume. He just chooses not to. He does have a bit of an edgy teen vibe which is funny in a 1000yo guy. Maybe that's why he's so irked by Yuuji. ;)

I absolutely love how he fights. He puts on a feral demeanor but underneath he's full on analysis and calculation.

He also makes the second best faces in the manga second only to Yuuji.

And his original form is very scrumptious, very thirst-inducing.

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

Well I don't know about never, but I have this little thought about older Aragorn and Arwen, that she might regret her choice (despite what Tolkien says). It was brought on by the song lyric "and when the seasons change, will you stand by me? Cause I'm a young man after all" and I just thought about them and I get it, they are cute, but Aragorn is a dick.

6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?

There are a couple fics I read 2-3 times, but I don't think I have a constant "omg must read 1000 times" fic

17. What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?

Elvish. I can say "Daddy I've been a bad girl". I am rethinking my life choices 😂😂

SQ:

SQ, my precious boy, the fandom's son. He can do no wrong, he deserved better, he needed more screen time, WHY DID THE SHOW DO HIM LIKE THAT, I love him so much! I checked the "I relate to them" boxes because as a kid, I strongly head canoned SQ as neurodivergent and really related to his character's clumsiness and awkwardness and comic relief moments, but also his kindhearted nature and how he tries so hard just to be good (and he is good. He is the best boy).

Captain Noland:

Oh Noland. Reading the books I related the to children and now, as an adult watching the show, I relate to the adults. Nicholas' woods breakdown, Curtain's standback dance, Milligan's monologue, and then we have Noland. That poor poor man. I relate to his wonderful dramatic tone, but sadly also to the way he seems to always be in crisis mode. I have so many questions about his vague and briefly mentioned troubles, yet it's almost funnier the less context you have. Such a silly man.

Sticky:

I mainly put the canon did them dirty, more screen time, and wasted potential answers because of how the situation with his parents was handled (I think everything else is self explanatory). The book scene of Sticky reuniting with his parents was so special, and I'm glad I was able to rewrite that into show canon in my fic because it has been bothering me. Sticky deserved his own family reunion scene after what Curtain put him through.

Book Martina:

For this one, I filled out two cards. One is Baby Bod's card when she read these books as someone who was younger than Martina (red). The second card is my current card looking back on the character as an adult and realizing she was a bully, but also an abused child who needed a lot of help (teal).

I think these cards are pretty self-explanatory as to how and why my opinion of her changed over time, but let me know if you have questions.

Thoughts on Barbara Leigh and Susan Henning?

sorry I don’t know if you wanted to know something specific about them 😭 but I’m just gonna say I think they are really important ladies worth knowing, mainly for the fact (this might sound weird but lemme explain) that they both already had children while they dated Elvis👀

some wannabe psychologists *coughs* alanna nash *coughs* albert goldman *coughs* have said Elvis was so enmeshed with his mother that he could never be with a woman who had a child because it would be like incest with Gladys or some crazy shit (yes they have both actually said that💀) all in their attempt to vilify Gladys and make her out to be some obsessive and controlling figure that prevented Elvis from forming regular relationships. which I find to be so untrue and harmful to her. Gladys was such a sweet woman and a loving and devoted mother who literally just wanted some grandbabies, keep her name out of y’all’s books, I’m begging !! (plus she is all our honorary mother-in-law 💗)

so personally that’s why I think it’s important to read about susan henning’s and barbara leigh’s romance with elvis because it sheds light on that subject and shows that elvis was more than willing to be with the woman he liked, regardless if she had a child or not

also I think they are both very cool & iconic and they are serving looks here (+ Barbara Leigh’s book is rlly good) 🤠
