please explain the plot of glee to me pretty girl 😚
AAAAAAAAGGGGGHHH
(squeals through your phone!!!!!)
(this is basically me giving u a very chaotic rundown and trying to implement all of my opinions on it. i started this at 5am and i'm finishing it at 11pm 😭. i basically am just writing down the pilot episode...)
OK SO BASICALLY,
it starts with the old glee director getting fired for sexual harassment because rachel berry, an absolute insufferable yet disturbingly talented teenager for only being a sophomore in hs at this point in time, reported him- NOT BECAUSE HE WAS INAPPROPRIATELY TOUCHING A STUDENT, NO!- but because sandy (old glee coach) gave someone else a solo instead of her 🤗🤗 . I HATE HER!!!! (she only gets worse from this point on too btw!!)
so, sandy gets fired and the principal of wiliam mckinley high school was like, "well since we don't have someone to take control of the glee cub and we also don't have the money for it, we'll just cut the program😁!" (although he paid for the cheer team's (the cheerios) new dietitian...)
... sigh.
This is where W*ll Sch*ester comes in...
(i hate w*ll sch*ester!!!!)
will is a sad old middle aged man with an uptight wife (terri schuester<3) who is basically living his high school glory days through the glee club. (this man is a menace. he needs to be put down!)
will is like to figgins (the principal) , "no! you can't take away the glee club! you're taking away these kids' will to live!" (his will to live)
so figgins is like, "fine but ur paying out of pocket to support it🙄🙄."
so there's tina, a goth whose faking a stutter so she doesn't have to talk to people she doesn't like, artie, a kid whose in a wheelchair and sings like he's not a white boy from the midwest, mercedes (MY BELOVED!!!!) , whose amazing but of course they portrayed her as the token angry black girl because what ELSE could she POSSIBLY bring to the table except that, kurt (MY BELOVED PT.2!!!!) , a closeted gay whose closet is made out of glass, and then... fucking rachel.
anyway, will then gets notified by sue sylvester, cheerios coach and the MOST AMAZING CHARACTER IN THIS GODFORSAKEN SHOW, that the glee club needs 12 people in order to compete in competitions and keep the club afloat.
so, he tries to talk to the football team about signing up for glee club after rachel tells him that artie isn't good enough to keep up with her vocally. he fails, and the sign-up sheet gets vandalized with penises and a bunch of ridiculous fake names!
and then there's this whole monologue like, "i was just about to give up until i heard his voice..."
and this poor kid finn is in the bathroom, just peacefully singing to himself while this CREEPY ASS MIDDLE AGED MAN is listening to him.
... and then he plants weed in his locker and tells him to sign up for the glee club or else he'd get expelled and lose his (nonexistent) football scholarship.
anyway, a little while after that his wife terri is like, "hey! i'm pregnant! 🤗" (spoiler alert! it was a hysterical pregnancy... and after that she then tries to hide the fact that she is in fact, NOT pregnant by wearing this fake pregnant stomach thing and trying to bribe finn's girlfriend for her child since she doesn't want to keep it.) and then will is thinking, "damn, i'm really gonna hate life now... time to be an accountant so i can support my (cunty af) lying wife and our fake baby!"
so he then puts in his two weeks but not without emma (his love interest and william mckinley's guidance counselor.) going, "pls go to the careers center tomorrow so you don't make the biggest mistake of your life and inevitably kill yourself." in much kinder words than how i phrased it. she basically shows him an old video of his time in glee club and i guess that inspires him... or something idk.
so the episode ends with the glee club performing don't stop believin by journey (i've heard this song so many goddamn times in this show that i HATE it now!) and the cheerios (quinn, santana, brittany.) and sue (best character in television history) are watching them as well as puck, finn's best friend who totally thinks finn is a bitch for joining jew directions.
also, will is in one of the auditorium seats and he comes back on the stage like, "good job, guys! btw i'm back! sorry for quitting on you for like ten seconds😝."
anyway, there's so much more that i left out but i don't feel like going back and editing this. thank you for asking me about glee and letting me go insane about my worst special interest ever!!!! - asteria<3 .

Season 6 - What Glee Should Be
Okay hear me out, I have a point I swear
Glee was cancelled going into S6. A half-length season, everyone knew it was over. There was no need to hold back, no need to compromise - and what we got was a highly divisive season that nevertheless feels like it was what the writers wanted to be doing for the last five years.
Note the focus on teacher-roles, Rachel instructing the New New New Directions, and Will and Sue’s rivalry taking the fore in later episodes. Note how none of the students get any more than one episode arcs, where even romantic subplots are constrained to single episodes unless it’s drama surrounding the teachers. It’s reminiscent of Season 1 of Glee, before the show was re-geared to be about the kids rather than Will and Emma.
But now the original kids are the teachers having the romantic subplot, creating an interesting middle-ground. But all in all, this feels so much more like the show that Glee was intended to be, now that there were no consequences for unpopularity or low ratings. It’s easy to imagine that, had the fandom not focused so much on the students, this might have been what Glee would have always looked like.
Does this mean it was good? That’s always going to be down to personal taste. But certainly, it is interesting to see the thought process shift.
Let’s look at them side by side
But seriously. There’s no escaping the fact that a lot of the heyday of Glee, and a lot of the things the fandom loves, weren’t part of the show’s original conception. There were always character arcs with the kids, a dash of acknowledging some real-world topics, but it was through the lens of, well, Will Schuester as the main character. Which is a sentence that feels so weird to type, but watching the pilot, watching the first season (especially 1A), it’s undeniable.
The show is about a teacher who learns from his kids, and through doing so has their life improved and helps figure out what they want in life and in their relationships. It’s about the idea of wasting your youth, and trying to recapture that and live your dreams even after feeling like you let them pass you by. That’s Glee season 1, before they had any idea of the huge fanbase they had, and what that fanbase wanted.
And Glee season 6? Rachel returns to McKinley, unsure of her place in life, and as she figures it out she chooses to become a teacher. She goes from hitting a low point, at the start of the season, to sorting out her priorities, finding romance again, and finding joy in helping others get the spotlight rather than being in it herself. And in much the same way, Blaine gets a comparable journey, going from a relationship that gets an alarming amount of vitriol, to finding himself with the Warblers, the school he went to originally, and having that help spark his development. Both of them have left behind successful performances to, well, teach Glee after something in their life crashed.
Rachel, Blaine and Will all get the same story.
Plus, of course, the throwback to building the Glee club one member at the time.
Parallel lines, who meet
You could complain about repetition. I’d argue that’s the point. Going to S1 again, it’s all about the parallels - right from the Pilot, Will and Terri and Emma are paralleled with Rachel and Quinn and Finn. There are a dozen tiny examples threaded throughout, like Quinn and Puck naming Beth and the immediate next scene being Shelby asking Rachel why her dads named her that - Glee likes to lay adult and teenage life side by side, and look at similarities and differences.
We’d be here a while if we listed everything. In S1, 3 and 4 especially, the show loves to compare and contrast - so having the original teens live the same arc as the teacher, well, it’s not unexpected. (shout out to Final Countdown having Kurt and Rachel watch Will and Sue have their sing-off and “...We cannot end up like them.”)
The echoes are the point. And when Glee goes out, it goes for parallels between Will and the kids, just like it did when it began.
Ain’t we got fun?
I feel like humour is going to be one of the most divisive things about S6. For me, it was a breath of fresh air - S5 had definitely gotten a little stale with some of the jokes. It referenced for the sake of referencing sometimes, and had grand set pieces that were played up like they were funny, and... weren’t, so it just ended up feeling a little weird.
S6, at least, is different. Love or hate Sue’s terrifying shipper-robot, it’s certainly not just a rehash of an old joke. Sue as an adversary is nothing new, but the dynamic she has in S6 as the over-the-top principal is different. There is imagination to a lot of the new quips, whether or not they work for you.
Then we have The Final Countdown, which harkens back to Run Joey Run and Baby Got Back as an unabashedly comedic musical number. The season gets a couple of those, and while the genre seems despised by the fandom, the writers seem to enjoy them, so given the chance, they added more.
It’s interesting. I’d probably say that one of the biggest issues Glee ran into was how it started to feel samey, and I wonder if that was a result of the same thought process that governed the show after S1 - trying to just do the things that the fandom reacted to. And when it’s too late to get the fandom back, they have the freedom to go for different things. There is genuine effort to do different rather than just do more - which inevitably runs the risk of alienating fans, but they were cancelled anyway so...
Lending a shoulder
So let’s talk about the social awareness side. How does S6 fare?
Honestly, surprisingly well. It’s still Glee, so not perfect, but there were beats that I noticed while watching that genuinely felt like an apology.
So let’s talk about Beiste. There is nuance here. Coach Beiste comes out as a trans man this season - I’ve seen this criticised, and I understand the criticism, that it undercuts Beiste’s arc in previous seasons. Originally, the depiction of a cis woman who was not conventionally attractive nor conventionally feminine still wanting acknowledgement and respect was, in its way, radical - then again, Beiste has had very little to do for a while. If the alternative was nothing, then I’m content with mere continuity wonkiness.
So let’s talk about the quality of this depiction. Glee’s previous foray into trans issues is Unique, and right from her name you get that uncomfortable vibe that they were just writing a drag queen, and there is that distinct undercurrent to some of her appearances. There was some good, but there was also a lot of... well, just imagine a ‘you tried’ star here.
Then comes Sheldon Beiste. I think this was the first time the word ‘transgender’ was actually said on the show. He’s explicit, upfront, takes a name that isn’t just ‘Badass’ or some such, and is otherwise presented and treated as just a guy, with other characters treating him without the transphobia Unique faced. Plus there is the off-handed scene where he mentions that he’s always been attracted to guys, and that’s probably not going to change - a mainstream show acknowledging that not all trans people are straight in 2015 feels bizarrely radical, especially after Unique.
Then there was Becky getting an episode that pretty much just existed to call out how she’d been consistently infantilised in previous seasons. Honestly that was one I had to google after the episode was done because there are a lot of things I don’t know about Down’s - the fact Glee of all shows got that reaction is kinda impressive.
Certainly, there are bits that are handled with the usual lack of tact, but there is a surprising amount to admire here. Which then, again, makes for a season one comparison and makes me wonder - in S1, the major dynamics that went for commentary were Kurt’s relationship with his dad, and Quinn’s arc dealing with conservative-family expectation and pressures, and a lot of that is well-handled compared to what a lot of people might expect from Glee going forwards.
There’s a lot of potential speculation there, but if nothing else, it indicates the season wasn’t low-effort.
Being the kids, as well as the sitter
Glee is about growing up, and it’s about what that means. We have a season where the teacher takes centre stage, like was originally planned, only it’s teachers that more people care about - Rachel, Kurt and Blaine probably have more fans than Will.
But what of the kids?
Given that they only have half a season, they’re impressive. It helps that they’re well cast - most only really get one or two big songs, but they’re able to nail them (if you haven’t, go listen to Roderick’s Take Me To Church, thank you), and all of them feel distinct from previous archetypes. There are also fresh dynamics here - Roderick and Spencer’s neat friendship, Jane fitting in with Dalton is brand new, Mason and Madison offer a sibling dynamic we surprisingly haven’t seen before given how rarely Glee has siblings (Kurt and Finn didn’t really act it, and Puck and Jake had few interactions).
Again, there’s genuine effort and freshness put into them, but it’s effort with the understanding that they aren’t leads. They don’t get multi-episode focuses on any love triangles or romance plots, they’re unmistakable secondary characters but it’s in that role that they thrive.
Is season 6 the best season of the show? No. And it’s one it’s easy to imagine being hated, because it is a departure from previous seasons. I could list flaws - there’s a lack of focus, a desire to bring back characters that can give a very scattershot approach, and some dynamics do feel definitely underexplored. There’s no arc to compare to, say, Quinn’s development in S1.
But for a half-length season that’s also wrapping up past characters, it does about as well as it reasonably could.
It really feels like this was the show that they meant to make, though. You can feel the extra effort that goes into it - plus the music that was selected sticks out. A Burt Bacharach episode, a Carole King/Alanis Morisette episode, these are definitely from the era and genres that the writers showed a preference for earlier on. We get another Queen song, we get Styx as the finale - bands that have both appeared before. This is a victory lap. There are certainly more modern songs included, but it’s reminiscent of, again, Season 1 thriving on the back of Journey and showtunes and Queen, before a younger audience made them insert more contemporary music. It feels as though the songs they’re including are the songs that the writers like, rather than leaning on chart-toppers - the Bacharach theme episode is one of the lowest watched episodes in the show’s run, which is kind of shocking given how easily artist-focus episodes could get a bump in viewership. For some reason though, fans of a songwriter whose heyday was in the 1950s/60s don’t cross over massively with Glee.
And yet they went for it. Why? Because they wanted to, they liked the songs (Bacharach tends to be basically showtune-adjacent, you’ll find a wealth of musical singers who’ll do his songs for albums and concerts), as we can tell by S1 using his ‘I Say A Little Prayer.’ This is what the show would have been if there was no care about what the audience wanted.
For me, the biggest flaw with Glee was the fact that they had no bloody idea what they wanted the show to be, or who the target audience even was. It goes from edgy teenage comedy, to teachable-moment kids’ show, to shockingly nuanced adult drama.
Hence the title of this ramble - this is what Glee feels like it was meant to be, regardless of personal taste. How much a show should listen to its audience is a heck of a complex question, way too much to go into this far into an already too-long ramble, but it’s still interesting to see. When they aren’t trying to balance intent and audience, you get a fascinating lens through which to look at the show.
There is effort here, which raises the question - if this is the show that they wanted to make, as it seems to be with how effective it is as a redo of the original season and original intent of the show and thereby the interests of the writers, what does that say of past seasons? Where are the compromises, where are the decisions made to feed into what the fandom wanted? And are the departures from this vision strengths or weaknesses?
I feel like everyone’s going to have a different answer to that question, and I do wonder if that’s why Glee fandom often seems so divided. Functionally, there are two shows going on here - it just depends which you were tuning in to see.

Glee Rewatch 1x03, Will Schuester and his comphet
(Are you confused? Check this out!)
Tumblr media
I completely forgot about Henri! Definitely crushed on him and was sad to not see him after this episode.
It's nice to see the guys supporting each other though!
Can we talk about Will? He basically says that being with the Acafellas made him horny. Well, he says that it made him more confident: "Being in a boy band did wonders for our love life. Seeing me feel so good about myself made my wife more attracted to me in every way." Obviously, Terri's trying to get pregnant for real. But I can't help but wonder if the high concentration of testosterone among the Acafellas made for a homosocial bubble. We all know how boy bands have an inherent gay vibe (and sometimes play on it). So does Will Schuester get subconsciously horny when singing with his mates and rather than thinking about it, does he redirect this sexual energy towards his wife?
Babe, I think we have a case of compulsory heterosexuality.
Will's misplacement of sexual tension is parallel to Emma's, naturally. She loves watching Will but intentionally tries to save her relationship with Ken. At least she's conscious about it?
Dang it, Henri didn't even last the whole episode.
Mercedes's song about busting Kurt's car window is an example of songs that imo were chosen first, and then had to be justified with the plot. I find her doing that... excessive, to say the least, and it's immediately brushed over because it's time for Mercedes to sing a song. The song *is* integrated but very awkwardly. I feel like later, the show was less interested in interpreting songs literally (see: Big Brother). As an aside, Heather Morris's dancing is incredible wow.
Now that I think about it, the Acafellas are clearly proto-Warblers. A capella singing? Only dudes? With an emphasize on their charm? You know, the Warblers that are famously all gay. Another argument for Will's comphet.
It might seem like I'm not fond of Mercedes, but her scenes with Kurt -aside from the three seconds of window-busting- are genuinely nice to watch. She doesn't judge him for his sexuality and tries to support him, and if it gives me fuzzy feelings in 2022, it probably made people who identified with Kurt feel good too in 2009.

Here is my recap of The Spider and the Queen B (Preggers) episode of the podcast
Jenna really enjoys this episode and has a lot of memories. Tina gets her moment to shine.
Kevin doesn't have a lot of memories because he wasn't there.
What was happening in the world at the time: The Black Eyed Peas were still crushing it. I've Got A Feeling was still #1. The cast was still in Australia. There was a huge dust storm. It was frightening.
This episode has the least amount of songs of any episode.
There are no full songs in this episode.
There were a lot of first in this episode. There were no duets or group numbers. The first Sue's Corner. First appearance of Burt, Matt, and Mike. First time Mr. Shue keeps his shirt on. No shirtless Shue this episode.
We get to see more of the other glee members this episode.
Three big things happening: babygate, beyoncegate, Sue and Sandy plotting.
Mike O'Malley is one of the most lovely human beings and an excellent actor that you just can't keep up with.
Terri and Kendra are in cahoots now that Kendra knows Terri isn't pregnant. When Kendra asks if the baby is black is possibly wink and nod back to Nip/Tuck and Jessalyn's character on that show.
Quinn is pregnant.
Think of the mailman is a great scene.
Spoiler Alert: Puck is the dad.
Fairy veil was a term coined by Telly and Naya. There is a bran of hair extension called Fairy veil and that became their secret term.
Jenna loves Single Ladies.
Heather and Chris had been working on Single Ladies dance for weeks. Jenna got thrown into it later on.
Jenna only ate canned tuna fish and salsa for two weeks because she knew she would be in a leotard.
They would have to do the dance at every Fox party.
Heather, Jenna, and Chris rehearsed for a couple of weeks. They shot part of it on a blank wall like the music video but that part never got used.
Kurt smacking Tina's ass was improved.
The Single Ladies outfit was Chris's idea. The original outfit was closer to the music video.
Kurt now has to audition for the football team. Kevin says those scenes are so magical.
Kurt's coming out scene is beautiful. Kevin said it's a little clunky but that is what makes it great.
Burt's acceptance is fast but he still needs time to process.
Burt accepts Kurt to the best of his abilities. They only have each other and he's not about to lose his son after he's lost his wife.
Jane Lynch and Stephen Tobolowsky are insane in the best way.
Lea and Jenna both asked for a lot of Celine songs. Lea got one later on but it was the wrong song.
If you watch Tina on the ladder practicing Tonight she is wearing a big spider necklace. Jenna and Kevin have arachnophobia. She panicked about having to wear the necklace. Jenna didn't know at the time she could say no to costume and hair decisions. They made the chain longer and that helped.
Kevin was peeved that Rachel's audition song in this episode clearly sounds like it was done in a recording studio and Tina's while it was prerecorded was made to sound like it was being sung live. Tina didn't get the most produced songs.
Tina always gets the shit end of the deal.
This was Jenna's first big scene with Matt. Matt told her she was cheating out which is something you do in theater.
Sue's Corner was just Sue ranting. They get crazier and crazier.
Terri Schuester is a horror movie character. The car scene is terrifying and so illegal for so many reasons. It's also wonderful.
Kevin loves a good car cry.
Kurt's coming out scene is not Ryan's life but based on the reaction he wished he had from his parents. Kevin texted Ryan during the recording to find out the answer.
It is nice to see a positive response to coming out.
Glee club has added 3 new members by the end of this episode. Matt, Mike, and Puck.
Tartie Takes:
Cringe Moment - Sandy Ryerson, Figgins commercial
Worst Dance move - none
Best Song - Single Ladies
Best Line - My body is like a rum chocolate soufflé if I don't warm it up right it doesn't rise.
Best performance by a prop - the spider necklace
Things that didn't age well - Is the baby black?
Thing that did age well - Burt coming home early to watch Deadliest Catch
Shit we found on Tiktok:
They shouted out two people that do recaps on the podcast.
When Karofsky is first introduced he on the hockey team and later is on the football team. Kevin asked Max about this plot hole. Max said when he originally auditioned he auditioned for Karofsky and Azimio. Karofsky was a hockey player and Azimio was on the football team. They were both jocks that bully the glee club. Karofsky was originally a one episode character. They decided to bring him back and it was easier to just make him a football player.
Jenna likes being surprised every week by the shit we found on tiktok segment and she likes not having to do any prep work for it.
Next week is Rhodes Not Taken. They loved getting to work with Kristin Chenoweth.

gif is mine
anonymous asked: could you do a Glee Will (idk how to spell his last name) where Terri saw Will, reader, and their kids and was like “they should've been our kids” or something like “your mine I had you first she's just taking my seconds then none after I get you back” could you do it? If not that's okay
Terri stood watching her ex-husband and his new family playing in the park, she was furious. How dare he be happy with this woman? How dare he go out and humiliate her by having the family that she deserved? Seeing him so happy with his new wife and children made her blood boil, so getting out of the car, the convertible she had taken from William when he was going through his rebellious phase when he was trying to impress that red headed counselor, she stormed across the park and over to the happy family, slapping William across the face and screaming at him
“They should've been our kid! Your mine, I had you first. She's just taking my sloppy seconds. And then she'll have nothing when I get you back!” she screams at the man and he turns to his wife
“Baby take the kids home, I'll follow shortly, also ring the cops” he says to his wife. Terri became even more furious hearing this
“How dare you? You f**king bastard! This should be us, we should be happy and yet here we are, I hate you William Schuester”
“You were the one who faked a pregnancy, you were the one who f**ked up not me. I have every right to move on from you, we are no longer together, we divorced eight years ago” William says, before he feels the impact of Terri's face impacting with his face
“You f**king wanker, how dare you?” she screams
“That's enough” someone says from behind her and the two look at the police officer
“Ma'am I'm sorry but you are under arrest for physical assault, sir do you wish to press charges?” the police officer asks looking at William and he nods, this causes Terri to scream and shout, thrashing around in the police officers arms, another officer steps in to help whilst a third officer stops to take Will's statement on what happened.
He sighed when he entered his house an hour later, his four year old daughter Hadley and two year old son Isaiah running up into his arms and throwing their tiny little arms around his neck. He smiles happily, grateful to his little family that he has with the most amazing woman that he ever meet, the woman who had given him his world when he meet her six years ago. Y/N Y/L/N-Schuester was the woman of his dreams and his soul mate. Carrying his two children in his arms he makes his way into the kitchen and places a kiss on Y/N's forehead before she turns and holds out the pregnancy test that she had taken earlier that morning before the trip to the park
“Are we?” he asks and she nods
“Yeah sweetheart, we're having another baby” she tells him and he leans in placing a heated kiss on her lips.
“I love you sweetheart”
“I love you too”.

If you were to rewrite Glee, what would you keep and what would you not keep?
Oh dear anonymous...
Season 1 and 2 can mostly stay the same with some changes
Like perhaps a bit more Faberry
And more of Santana being very not-straight in s1 (she was really deep in the closet in s1)
Okay season 3: First off! We need to talk about Finn outing Santana
That was seriously not okay and I wish Santana atleast had a ”IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE MY THING” speak Love, Simon-style
Also, ofc, Santana’s coming out to cheerios scene
While I do wish Brittany and Santana sang ”I kissed a girl”, Rachel had good vocals. So make it a quartette with Brittana and Faberry and it’s perfect
Brittany to graduate with her class
That way you could make a more easier excuse for her to not be there when Heather Morris became pregnant and had to leave, instead of ”Brittany is now a math genius”
I can allow the s4 breakup for angst’s sake, but make them better and maturer
Can every breakup end like Brittana? Of course I was sad for their breakup but you know... it was good for them. It was good because it made them realise how much they love each other. I wish Klaine did the same
Also can Blaine not change personality every season?
More of Finn and Kurt as brothers! We barely saw anything of their home life after their parents got married
Marley’s eating disorder to be handled a lot better
Like, people not getting mad at her for passing out
Ok so... of course I wanted Finn to live, but his death was more about Cory dying rather than Finn dying. I can’t just erase that.
Rachel to be smart and not just jump off Broadway
Yeah, of course we could have a plot of her feeling tired of doing the same thing every night but it could instead be her seeing her understudy perform one night and being like ”oh god but I love this too much to let it go”
Then you may ask how season 6 will go, hm?
Well as Kurt said, in year 3 of Nyada, the students are encouraged to seek some internships. Rachel does not quit Nyada.
Instead, maybe Funny Girl is taken down due to some reason and Rachel has nothing to do anymore
So she goes to Lima to get back the Glee Club of course!!
And... Klaine doesn’t break up!!!!! They are still engaged
However Blaine still only goes his second year at Nyada and while Kurt wants to stay with him he also wants to help Rachel to get back the Glee Club
So they have a bit of a long distance for a while, but they handle it pretty good
What does Sue do now when Klaine is already together? Well...
Either Brittana is still broken up, and Sue tries to get them back together instead (to be honest, Sue getting together Santana and Brittany seems more like her since they are both cheerios)
That, or... she tries to get Faberry together
If Brittana is broken up, they are actually... not broken up. Everyone just thinks they are because they haven’t seen them together. So chaos ensues when Sue locks them inside an elevator and they are like ”What if we play with it and see how long it takes for us to not want to make out”
Ok nah Faberry would be much more chaotic since Rachel is coach of Glee Club and perhaps Quinn is in Lima for some reason
Anyway Brittana gets married, but it’s not gonna be a double wedding. Klaine gets married another time. Because I want the couples to have their own special days
Ok hear me out: What if we Switch the s4 kids and the s6 kids? Except for Marley and Unique because they are valid
Imagine the twins in season 4?? THE ULTIMATE CHAOS
Ok so season 4 Glee Club is Artie, Tina, Blaine, Sam, Marley, Unique, Rodrick, Madison, Mason, Jane, Spencer and Alistair
Ryder, Kitty and Jake are instead in s6 along with Myron who comes in later plus the Warblers who’s school burned down
Can we atleast get to see what Brittana was up to in the last episode instead of them like... just coming in to sing vocals in the final scene?
Will Schuester is not the focus. We only focus on him in the teachers lounge when he speaks to the others. Terri and he broke up before the show started. We only see his home in the christmas episode or when someone talks to him there. But the focus is on the kids
This Gonna be good

“ GRIEF IS THE PRICE WE PAY FOR LOVE “
William Daniel Schuester was a man that the city of Lima loved, respected, and treasured. His life was full of ups and downs, as many are. When Will disappeared in 2007, his family, friends, and colleagues at William McKinley High School believed he had left to just start over. As the community grapples with the devastating news of the recovery of his remains - in which Lima PD has classified as a homicide - WMHS invites you to return to the school he loved and celebrate the life and legacy he has left behind. Those who wish may speak, or as he would have loved, perform in his memory. Please join us on Friday, August 14th, at the April Rhodes Civic Pavilion and WMHS Gym to pay tribute to our fallen teacher and friend.
Scandals bar has announced that the following day, Saturday, August 15th, they will be hosting a Remembrance Party with drink specials and an open stage for performances. Although a self-proclaimed Straight Man™, Will was a friend of the LGBTQ+ community in Lima with his avid support of show tunes and doing the bare minimum to recognize his LGBTQ+ students. Scandals would like to honor his memory (and make a few bucks in the process).
On Sunday, August 16th, William Schuester will be laid to rest at the Lima City Cemetery. His family has graciously opened the graveside service to any who wish to attend. Since Will’s life revolved around teenagers singing, his family has asked anyone that would like to perform to contact them to arrange their heartfelt tribute.
For the Players:
This will be our first of many Kingdom Events to take place over the course of our roleplay. From Thursday, August 13th to Monday, August 17th Sunday, August 23rd, we’ll enact a dash freeze. All starters posted will be considered in-person interactions at any of the aforementioned events. Be sure to indicate the event in your post. You are entirely welcome to continue on with previous conversations, texts, paras, and face to face interactions if you wish as well.
We will be creating a page for a timeline of events (with links) as they unfold to make things easy for players to follow. You can let us know via inbox or discord if you’d like to sign up for a performance at any of the events as well.
Players can submit tidbits from the events such as things they saw NPC’s doing, saying, etc. For example, Terri and Emma were spotted arguing over the punch bowl moments before Emma ended up getting an unwanted bath of punch thrown at her. There will be a vote for favorite NPC interaction and the winner will get their name changed in the discord to Supreme Genius for a week.
Let the admins know via the inbox or Discord if they would like to sing at Schue’s grave and the song of choice.

Glee - S1 E7 (Throwdown)
I haven’t done this for a while, and literally nobody asked, but I’ve finished most of my degree and I need something to do in quarantine! So, I’m granting myself little a shitting on Ryan Murphy. As a treat.
Ok so right off the bat I’m pretty sure this is the “you’re all minorities” episode, and I’m placing a bet with myself. If I’m right about it, I get ice cream when I finish. Wish me luck!
Wow, for the first time, I actually needed the re-cap. I be like, wow, so THAT’S what I missed on Glee...
Sue’s fake laugh when Will touches her arm is relatable because I, too, would want to cry if he did that to me,
“It’s glee club, not krunk club” Wow thanks Netflix subtitles I thought it was spelled crunk. Also, Mercedes, please do take season 1 Rachel to the carpet. Please.
Sign #29 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: He asks what the kids want to do, and then tells Mike that his dancing is “not really what we’re going for,” like ok, so you’re not going for TALENT? He doesn’t even give the boy a chance!
Sue’s pink tracksuit is wild.
Why does Figgins care about the plans for sectionals. Doesn’t he want glee club to fail?
Figgins is the real antagonist of the glee club for forcing anybody to hug Will. Yes, Sue is a criminal, but even she doesn’t deserve this.
“I’m about to vomit down your back” me too queen.
“Whatever Quinn wants is fine” Finn... You deserve better than LIES.
“No mutations... Not even any cool ones” why is THIS making me emotional about Cory? Finn just being a vulnerable kid in this scene... He’s so scared.
Why is Mr Schue taking them to the OB-GYN...
Jacob hitting on Rachel genuinely makes me squirm. Like, I don’t find his character or these scenes funny one bit.
I ONLY JUST NOTICED... When Sue calls the glee club “mouth breathers” Kurt snaps his mouth shut all of a sudden. It’s a split-second cutaway but I love it.
Sue not knowing what a piano is? Iconic.
Sign #30 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole:  He gets mad at Sue for saying she wants the minority students to feel heard. I know that she’s trying to manipulate them, but like... Let them have a solo Will.
Kendra is a fucking anti-vax wow
I literally can’t talk about this Jacob thing because the p-word makes me SQUIRM. I HATE IT.
He gallops away though it’s an interesting choice.
Like say what you want about Sue in general but she’s RIGHT here, Will fails these kids and she’s genuinely showing them a great time for now.
Hate On Me is a BOP. Amber kills it with every god damn number...
MIKE! GETS! TO! POP! AND! LOCK!
Kurt’s fuzzy sweater is such a look. I just want to pet it!!!
Kurt actually joining in with the dancing... AND MIKE AND MATT JOINING HIS MOVE... IT’S SO CUTE!!!
They’re having so much fun. God I adore these kids.
Sign #31 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: He complains about Sue taking up “his time” with the kids, but he wasn’t fucking there? And hey, asshole, they actually had FUN for once!
Sue is dangerous Will, but at least she has TASTE.
...She is a straight up abusive person though and I do not vibe
Terri straight up pushing Will to make bad choices! Fun!
Quinn being like one of five Cheerios that passed Spanish is wild.
“Your psychosexual derrangement would be fascinating Will if it WEREN’T SO TERRIFYING!” Iconic
To Game. Iconic
Oh, fun! Racism.
Please sue him, Sue. Destroy him.
Figgins posting his own stockings commercial online? Iconic
“Let me break it down for you... Nobody cares!” Iconic
SUE’S FIRST TEMPER TANTRUM?
Drizzle.
Finn wanted to name a baby,
D R I Z Z L E
“I read that Gwenyth Paltrow named her baby Apple and I think that’s so cool, because you know how much I love apples, right?” Baby boy...
Ride Wit Me... Look at these kids having ACTUAL FUN SINGING TOGETHER!!! WILLIAM SHOESTIR TAKE NOTES!!!
You can hear them actually laughing together and I’m w e a k...
Santana and Brittany just hugged and it was so tender my heart wiggled
Sign #31 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: He literally IGNORES Quinn when she objects to being a back-up singer YET AGAIN...
I hate this number. It’s one where the backing singers sound nothing like the characters who are back-up singing... And there’s barely any back-up anyway.
Just had a thought while I tune out this shit number... Sue recruits Puck because he’s Jewish, but not Rachel? I mean, I know it’s strategic, but... Eh.
Quinn calling him the fuck out... QUEEN.
No Air put my flatmate to sleep. She’s literally snoring.
Sign #32 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: Yes you were at work all day but that’s no reason to GRAB YOUR WIFE BY THE WRIST because she hasn’t made dinner...
Sign #33 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: Yes you should be able to go to the OB-GYN with your wife but like... Don’t book an appointment for her without asking???
Sign #34 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: “I can’t do a song with three kids” he says, when only 2 of those kids sang any actual lines in the first place.
...WHY is Dr Wu telling them about his bonsai? I appreciate it. I love a good bonsai. But like... What conversation did we just cut into?
Kendra is so awful it’s hilarious. Like, her terribleness makes her funny. TAKE NOTES JACOB.
The eye contact between Quinn and Rachel as she yells at her... Oof. They’re not being nice to each other, but chemistry is chemistry.
“You obviously have a lot you need to express” “Oh, you have no idea” and then she SPINS INTO THE NUMBER... Quinn more like Queen
Quinn outside Sue’s window, singing at her begging her to set her free... To let her make a new start... God my heart hurts. I love Quinn!!!
Keep Me Hangin’ On is a bop. It’s not the best for her voice, but I still love what she does with it.
Maybe my gay ass is just obsessed with the dancing. Who knows? (I knows. My gay ass is obsessed with the dancing.)
Quinn stood in the front alongside Finn and Rachel as if Will actually gave her any lines...
Mercedes’ dad is a dentist. You heard it here first folks.
Sign #35 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: You’re a TEACHER. You can’t THROW SHIT AROUND whenever somebody makes you mad. Yes, this also applies to Sue - but at least she’s hilariously ridiculous when she does it!!!
Sign #36 That Mr Schuester Is An Asshole: Yes, Sue sucks, but telling her she’s going to spend her life alone??? Fuck off???
“Those of us who still have two parents” Finnnnnnn
The kids: Hey, we’re more than just minorities!  Will at the end of this episode: Mmm, are you though?
“Did it fall off” No, but I wish yours would Will.
“Why do I feel like I’m about to fall through a trap door into a pit of fire” God William I wish you would!!!
YOU’RE ALL MINORITIES... [camera focus on a black student, and a gay student] Y O U ‘ R E I N T H E G L E E C L U B
2009 really was a different time
Sue be like: Quinn FAH-bray
This scene of Quinn sobbing in Finn’s arms and him just... Trying so hard to console her... Emotions. EMOTIONS.
KEEP HOLDING ON... Why did they give the female solo to Rachel in this song when Quinn doesn’t really like her, if this number’s really for her. Surely it’d be Finn and Santana, or Brittany, since they’re her closest friends in the club at this point???
KURT AND QUINN SPINNING TOGETHER... I love the few scenes we get of them together. And it’s a CRIME that they never got a full duet. They could’ve been hilarious friends to watch.
Oh god... Just... A close up of Quinn Fabray crying. Kill me why don’t you???

if you could choose one character to be applied for which one would that be?
Hey there, anon. Well, since you asked, I’ve decided to make a big list with all the wanted characters and why they are needed and why they would be very welcomed here. P.S: All the characters would be welcomed here, OCs too!
Tumblr media
Elliott Gilbert (FC: Adam Lambert) - If you want to cause some drama between Kurt and his boyfriend, I would suggest you join as him. Also, his three best friends, Santana, Danielle, and Rachel are already taken.
Terri Del Monico (FC: Jessalyn Gilsig) - We have Emma Pillsbury, and why not bring Terri to cause some drama to Emma?
Adam Crawford (FC: Oliver Kieran-Jones) - Another reason for Kurt and his boyfriend to have some drama? Be Adam!
Sheldon Beiste (FC: Dot-Marie Jones) - Let's face it! We need Sheldon here!
Lauren Zizes (FC: Ashley Fink) - I think the original Glee members would love to have her here, right?
Isabelle Wright (FC: Sarah Jessica Parker) - Kurt needs one of his best friends right now. Bring Isabelle!
Brody Weston (FC: Dean Geyer) - Would you like to cause some Faberry drama? Bring Brody. He is also one of my favorite characters.
Sue Sylvester (FC: Jane Lynch) - I would love to just see her here. I bet she would cause a lot of drama in general.
Will Schuester (FC: Matthew Morrison) - We have Emma for months now and no Will. This is unfair!
Biff McIntosh (FC: Chace Crawford) - My Quinn has no ex-boyfriends around here, bring him.
Hiram Berry (FC: Jeff Goldblum) & Leroy Berry (FC. Brian Stokes Mitchell) - Bring Rachel’s fathers to the show!
But now, if you are looking for some family connections, here you have a big list of characters you could apply for:
Abigail (FC: Ashley Tisdale), Joseph (FC: Mark Wahlberg), Monica (FC: Meghan Ory), Leon (FC: Ryan Reynolds), Ester (FC: Josie Loren) - If you want to be connected to Rachel Berry, pick one of these.
Carter (FC: Chris Hemsworth), Cameron (FC: Chris Pine) - We would love to have the rest of the Sloane’s here.
Laurie (FC: Ruby Rose) - They are Kurt’s cousins.
Nathaniel (FC: Jared S. Gilmore), Constance (FC: Alicia Vikander), George (FC: Chris Wood), Elizabeth (FC: Odette Annable), Nicholas (FC: Tom Hiddleston), Oscar (FC: Sam Heughan), Logan (FC: Nick Jonas), Maverick (FC: Joe Jonas) - They are Jesse St. James' cousins.
Jasper St. James (FC: Peyton Meyer) - He is the last of the St. James’ siblings, and he is so needed!

what's your opinion on each of the teachers/adults?
Oh boy get ready for a damn novel…
⋆ Mr. Schuester - Let’s just get it out of the way. Do not like him. He plays favorites, spends too much time giving into Rachel’s insane demands and never stands up to her, acts less mature than his high school students half the time. And the show never should’ve even pretended to have its main focus on him, because his scenes in s1 were all too much. Although that scene where he finds out Terri faked her pregnancy was one of the best moments of s1. 10/10 for the scene, 1/10 for Schue. Yes, this has turned into a rating thing now
⋆ Sue Sylvester - I like her more than Schue, let’s say that. She had her good moments sometimes but it’s like Santana where it’s like, it would literally not kill you to not be a bitch or say something rude for five consecutive minutes. Like when she offered to help Beiste but kept insulting her? Ugh. I liked when she showed her softer side like with Jean and Becky, and even with Kurt sometimes. And I think Brittany? But she was really mean to Santana and Quinn all the time, which I didn’t like. And her and Schue’s feuding got so old. And then she was insufferable once we got to s6. 5/10 altogether
⋆ Emma Pillsbury - An actual angel. So sweet and kind and adorable. Just deserved nothing but happiness and love (aka so much more than she got). Was always too good for Will. Wish we got to explore more of her OCD and her asexuality bc she was totally ace it’s not even a random headcanon of mine I mean come on and she could have some really funny lines and scenes, too. 10/10
⋆ Coach Beiste - Deserved snuggles, received struggles. Had one of the best scenes in the show (“Who’s gonna love you now??” “Me!”) and if you don’t cry every time then you have no heart. Loved her relationship with Puck, especially bc she was the only adult that ever cared about him. But the trans story line in s6 was just not for her. Sorry not sorry. Still not over it. 8/10 (Extra points off for having lots of weird lines that made me uncomfortable)
⋆ April Rhodes - Kind of funny sometimes but mostly just annoying. Had lots of good songs though. 4/10 for Kristin Chenoweth
⋆ Shelby Corcoran - Horrible mother, horrible teacher, horrible person. Illegally manipulated Rachel into seeking her out and then decided she wanted nothing to do with her once they met. Started fresh by absconding with a new baby only to come back to town over a year later and use said baby as a bargaining chip to manipulate Quinn into physically changing her appearance. Got a job at McKinley despite how horribly awkward it would be for Rachel and Quinn. Slept with a student. Should be in jail for several reasons. -5/10 bc not even Idina Menzel can save this awful character
⋆ Holly Holiday - Kinda weird but couldn’t possibly be a worse teacher than Will. Mean to Emma. Talked too much about sex to minors without really teaching them anything. But she was a good mentor to Brittany and Santana, and that was nice. Had some good songs. 4/10 all for Holly bc I don’t like Gwyneth that much
⋆ Millie Rose - Seems like the new Burt Hummel but has some kind of iffy lines towards Marley. Tells her she didn’t raise a quitter, she raised a star. Tells her she needs to fight to stay thin and beautiful and encourages her weight loss even though Marley is already stick thin. Still tries her best and is too sweet for the evils of McKinley. 6/10
⋆ Carole Hudson - The best mom in the world. So sweet and dedicated and loving and funny. Loves her two sons and is mother to all McKinley kids that need her (like when she let Quinn live with them after she was kicked out). Also Romy is an incredible actor and her scenes in s5 completely gut me every single time. 20/10
⋆ Burt Hummel - Best dad in the universe. Supporting, loving, accepting. Will not hesitate to throw hands with a teenage bully (even if he’s dating said teen’s mom). Also father to all McKinley kids who need it (also let Sam live with them when he had no place to go??) Just the best guy all around and I love him ∞/10

miasswier’s ultimate glee ranking: no 70
70: Mash-Up
Tumblr media
Written by: Ian Brennan Directed by: Eloide Keene
Overall Thoughts: I don’t remember liking this episode as much as I did on this re-watch. In fact, in my pre-watch list I ranked it a lot lower than how it’s currently ranked. I think I was just remembering all the bad stuff (and there is, indeed, bad stuff) and forgetting the good stuff. It’s actually a really good episode, even if it’s not as good as the past two episodes. Definitely better than “The Rhodes Not Taken” and “Showmance”, both of which I originally ranked it below.
What I Like:
Will and Sue dancing. It’s an awesome scene, and it’s quite sweet. I wish we’d gotten more of Will and Sue as friends instead of always as adversaries.
Emma killing it in both that ugly ass wedding dress and that gorgeous wedding dress. She literally looks amazing in both. How? Who the fuck knows. But she really looks awesome.
Much like Terri in “Throwdown”, Emma is shown to be a lot more human here than she has in past episodes (with “Vitamin D” being an exception). Emma is not just the nice to Terri’s mean in this episode; she’s a genuine human being with feelings and emotions and flaws and complexities. She’s funny and mean. She’s a person. It’s refreshing to see her as more than just an embodiment for the show’s desired reaction to Will Schuester.
Quinn and her fucking sunglasses. Oh my god. During the scene where they’re waiting to see if the football guys show up to Glee and she’s just fucking wearing those ridiculous glasses. I die.
Rachel and Puck’s break-up scene. It’s a sweet moment, even if it has a bittersweet end. I’m not a fan of this relationship (more on that later), but I really like this scene. For the first time since “Preggers” Puck is coming across as a human being that we can empathize with instead of just a background meathead. And Rachel calling him out for being a jerk is awesome.
Kurt in Bust a Move. The way he silently judges and then apprehensively joins but is obviously too cool for school about it with his dumbass tambourine. What a nerd.
Kurt slushying himself for Finn. I think what I like most about this scene is the way it ends, and how it really drives home the message this episode is trying to get across: Finn runs away, alone, and Kurt is led into the bathroom by his friends. Being popular is not the same as having friends, and at the end of the day, what is really more important?
Sue in that fucking zoot suit. Amazing.
Quinn absolutely breaking down after Sue kicks her off the Cheerios. It made me tear up, which shows just how amazingly emotional it is. Dianna Agron really kills it in this role.
Will getting slushied at the end (special shout-out to Rachel having ZERO FUCKING AIM)
“I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty-cat. I will let you fall in love with that kitty-cat.  And then on some dark, cold night, I will steal away into your home and punch you in the face.”
What I Didn’t Like:
Will acting all high and mighty to Ken about how he hasn’t encouraged Emma when he’s literally spent the last eight episodes flirting with her despite thinking his wife is pregnant. Fuck off, Will.
Other than their break up scene, I’ve always been uncomfortable with Puck and Rachel. I don’t like them as a couple, in any way, shape, or form. Honestly, I have a hard time with any couple where one half of the couple used to bully the other half. Puck buys Rachel a slushie as a romantic gesture and says he knows she likes grape because she licked her lips after he fucking threw it in her face. The height of romance y’all.
Quinn and Finn struggle equally with losing status in this episode, and yet once again it’s Finn’s struggle that is highlighted. While I find Quinn wearing those sunglasses all episode long to be hilarious, it’s also sort of making light of her worries while Finn’s get the center stage.
Will telling Quinn that it’s okay to be slushied because she has friends to help her instead of going to the principal and saying that he has twelve students who have literally all been hit with a slushie in the face. I get what he was trying to say (friendship is more important than popularity) but it just ends up seeming like another example in the endless list of Terrible Teaching Moments by William Schuester
Will singing The Thong Song to Emma, while she is in a wedding dress. Ew.
Ken taking out his anger on his relationship issues with Emma on Will instead of talking to Emma like a damn ass adult. I get that Emma is terrible to him and therefore probably wouldn’t listen, but seriously. Even if Will definitely encourages her more than he thinks he does, at the end of the day it’s not his fault that Emma has feelings for him that she absolutely clings to.
Rod. What a skeevy guy. Ugh.
Songs
Bust a Move: Make. Will. Stop. Rapping. Please. Like, okay, it’s an entertaining performance, but for fuck’s sake.
Thong Song: Listen. I hate this scene. It grosses me out. It makes me really uncomfortable. But I actually like this song. It’s a guilty pleasure. I’m sorry.
Sweet Caroline: Probably the best performance of this episode. Even if it’s in the context of Puckleberry it’s still a good song and a good performance.
I Could Have Danced All Night: I mean, Emma sounds good, but I find the song boring and the scene stressful. You can’t just dance around a wedding gown dressing room. Especially not in the wedding dress you haven’t even bought yet. No wonder the attendant was looking so worried! I would be too.
Final Thoughts: Not as bad after a re-watch as I remember it being. It takes a break from the overload of Finn/Rachel/Quinn drama, which is really nice. Plus, it includes the funniest line to ever be spoken on Glee, so.

Note
for the fandom thingy: er, glee, grey's anatomy
⊱send me a fandom and i’ll tell you…⊰
am i familiar with it? Yep. I started watching it in season eight when they crossed over with Third Watch, and I’m currently going back and rewatching the seasons that I missed from the very beginning.
do i like the fandom itself? I’ve never really been a part of it on here, but I like what I’ve seen in some of the tags, though. Lol, I think this is the right way to answer this question.
who’s my favorite character? Elizabeth Corday and Susan Lewis
if i had to choose, who would i roleplay? Back when FaceBook RP was a thing, I wrote an original character who was Abby’s half sister. I’m currently attempting to write Susie Lewis, and I’m only in the middle of season two, but I also really love Nurse Lydia Wright. If only we knew more about her. Ah, the joys of loving minor characters. Oh, and also Susan Lewis herself. I kind of want to try my hand at writing her as well, but lack of icons tho. Sadness.
am i familiar with it? Yep. It took me a few episodes, I’m a sucker for anything with Jessalyn Gilsig.
do i like the fandom itself? I mean, for the most part. I’m not really part of it anymore, but it was pretty cool back in the day.
who’s my favorite character? Terri Schuester
if i had to choose, who would i roleplay? Back in the day when Twitter RP was a thing, I had one for Kendra Giardi, Terri and Kendra’s mother, and Claire Schuester – my original character. I also had MySpaces for them as well. On here, I just write Claire, and I’m attempting Terri as well.
am i familiar with it? Of course. My sister got me started on it at the end of season one when Addison came along, and then Kim got me back into it when she joined the cast.
do i like the fandom itself? Yeah, for the most part. I only participate in a small corner of it, though.
who’s my favorite character? Teddy Altman
if i had to choose, who would i roleplay? Delia Burton has become one of my favorite original characters that I’ve ever written. I honestly can’t imagine the fandom without her, not that that makes any sense. I wrote Addison back when FaceBook RP was a thing, and I’m attempting to write Teddy every now and then on here, too. But yeah, anyone in relation to her, I’d probably give a try.
