Not an album from album a day but...
heard this album today from the NACC new music charts and it's insanely good
The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest, Teenage Jonas
this is a pop rock/alternative album that has some really amazing emotional parts. i was intending on just listening to a couple tracks off of this but got distracted and listened to the whole thing. oh boy it's neat. i wouldn't say it is a belt-filled album but it has that vibe emotionally towards the second half through the end. some of my favorite tracks were 'moneymoneymoney,' 'You're Not The President,' 'Ruby Doomsday,' 'Candy Apple,' and '5 Things I Can Taste.' I do realize this is like half the album but that was hard too.
also on the track '5 Things I Can Taste,' I think it's cool because the song is a breakup song and so putting the grounding technique in it was really interesting. Within that grounding technique, you are supposed to name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste. Numbers can vary slightly but generally it goes from easiest to think of to hardest, so the grounding effect isn't impossible to achieve. So either the band knew that and switched it on purpose, or we are thinking of two different things. I would assume they knew what they were doing. So it's cool that they probably went and thought 'yeah let's switch it to prove a point,' for which i assume the intent of that point was that it's really hard to calm down with techniques like this sometimes. Because what are you gonna do if stuff like that doesnt work. if you're sitting there actively having a panic attack, it would be really hard to be tasting 5 things during that, even if you stretch the limits. This is also just my interpretation.
i just think this is cool thanks for reading <3

Gideon the Ninth Reaction - Chapter 12
you'd think people who deal with necromancy daily would be less disturbed by Harrow's bone decor
✨💀🦴~ambiance~🦴💀✨
new plot prediction: Harrow's gonna give up necromancy to become an extremely goth interior designer
wow i really got a false impression of Magnus when he first appeared, i thought he was gonna be all suave but instead he just seems ridiculously polite and awkward
Dulcinea's just having a free vacation basically huh? honestly i think thats what i would do if i was trapped in a creepy gothic mansion, you go girl
what is it with people in this book and having creepy whispered conversations in corridors, none of you are good at espionage
speaking of, Gideon is also terrible at it, she tries to spy on one person and gets into a fight immediately
finally, Camilla!! also she backflipped down the stairs!?
File under disturbing facts: necromancers sweat blood apparently
okay i guessed the ring had something to do with being a key, but i didn't think it was just, like, an actual key ring 😭
laboratories? a mortuary? this whole place is just giving creepy abandoned hospital in a video-game, get the fuck outta there Nav
also, creepy science lab has a nonagonal room? hmm 🧐
Gideon is remarkably determined to find Harrow for someone supposedly hates i won't lie. also she called Harrow 'her necromancer' wow
poor Harrow, i fully thought she was dead for a second then. hopefully now she'll let Gideon in on some of what she's been up to, and they'll start being a bit more like a team - speaking of, what exactly was she trying so hard to do that got that much blood everywhere...

Hii! 3, 27 and 29 for the ask game :)
Hello hello hello <3 and thank you for the questions!
3. What was the last song you listened to?
DAUGHTER, by Beyoncé.
Since I've already shared a lot of Cowboy Carter songs, I'm also going to tell you the one I listened to before DAUGHTER: Back On 74 by Jungle.
27. What’s your favorite book? Or just one you’ve read a few times?
Technically I've already answered this one here, but of course I'm going to take the chance to talk about another one of my favourites. :)
I'm a big Jonas Jonasson fan and I've re-read his novels many times; my favourite is a tie between The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared and The Girl Who Saved The King Of Sweden. They're delightfully absurd, marvelously funny stories that always put me in a good mood, and I adore them.
29. Does it take you a long time to make decisions?
Hmm. I do get stuck on decisions sometimes, mostly on choices that somehow involve other people, but apart from those few times I'm a fairly decisive person -- and when I've made a decision it tends to be final; it's hard to change my mind. I do struggle a bit with executive function, though, and afaik that's related to decision-making, so perhaps I'm less of a decisive person than I think!
