So. The writing issue.

I have absolutely been misrepresenting the issue to myself, mentally framing it as an issue of self-esteem and motivation, and worrying that I am losing the ability and desire to do something I have been fixated on since I was a tiny tot.

Yeah, no.

As I type this, I am dealing with a broken phone screen that frequently makes false taps, opening links, hitting undo buttons on its own, scrolling back up frequently. My laptop keyboard has several stuck keys that require repeated stabbing to make it type. I can use the touch-screen keyboard to write, but it is not nearly as comfortable as a traditional keyboard and impedes my enjoyment. I have notebooks but can’t seem to get over my arbitrary mental rules in order to write the things that have been on my mind.

And I do not remotely have the funds to fix these technological issues nor the means to save said funds for these fixes at the moment. This whole thing just makes me tired and I rarely want to be online anymore, let alone do the things online that I once enjoyed.

So. No guilt on myself. I’m simply overwhelmed and not in a place to be able to deal with it.

I have a nokia flip phone. Stop judging me for a second and hear my pain:

My phone fell off my bed and hit the floor so hard that both the back AND the battery fell off. I put it back together again but when I pressed the power button, nothing happens.

So, I plugged it in, thinking that’ll do something. And it does. It shows me a black screen with a white battery telling me the phone is charged at 100%. And I have no fucking clue what to do from there.

AND DON’T TELL ME TO HOLD THE POWER BUTTON DOWN! I’VE BEEN DOING THAT! NOTHING’S HAPPENING!

people really need to start learning that just because technology allows us the privilege and power to access any kind of info in seconds and to stay connected with anyone in any part of the world and beyond, that does not mean that you're allowed to expect to find someone, or get attention from someone, 24/7. You are not allowed to get mad if people do not reply to messages for a few hours or if they don't return calls. You are not allowed to assume that if someone doesn't answer to you in a matter of seconds then they don't care. You are not allowed to invade other people lives this way

every time I explain to people I just don't check my socials (sometimes for days) and I've blocked notifications on my phone so I can check messages and stuff only when I want to (because ✨️boundaries✨️) and I'm still able to enjoy using my phone without the pressure of being social, I get looked at like I'm crazy and people even try to explain to me how wrong I am (because people don't appreciate ✨️boundaries✨️ ever do they?)

I hate it like get off my back I wanna be left alone

people have lives, priorities or just different situations

send me all the messages you want but don't fucking pressure me to reply in a time span that you consider appropriate when in reality it's only been a few hours literally I can't breathe knowing that most of the people nowadays think like this

if there's an emergency I'll be there

if you need my attention immediately I'm there

if you just want to share a meme or know how I am then you can wait for me to decide when to reply to you

and don't fucking make this about you because every single time when people don't get a reply they assume its about them and I'm like no bitch, don't worry boo, no one is involving you just fucking wait

how much I miss the times when the amount of texts you had was limited or when you had to call the family landline phone and hope the other person was home to reach them

my laptop screen just. blacked out all of a sudden, but the laptop was still on and it freaked me the fuck out because OF COURSE this happens the day i plug in my external hard drive and decide "nah, i can back it up later" 🤡🙃

couldn't get it to do anything so had to shut it down (RIP all my tabs in private browsers, i remembered most of them but, ugh), ofc windows is all "LEMME UPDATE THESE PENDING UPDATES (you fuck)" and thankfully firefox and chrome restore my regular browsing tabs...

but libreoffice... well, restored the documents alright, technically speaking, but nothing unsaved (so there goes an unsaved draft for a conversation i'll hopefully never have 🙃) and even though i'd saved my doc at least three times while typing it... somehow. everything i typed today is just POOF. gone. glad it wasn't my fic draft at least but holy fuck.

guess who's gonna back up everything first thing in the morning?

I almost had an adult-sized meltdown in Starbucks when I discovered this on an actual work-related task. Rapid breathing. Elevated heart rate. Normal conversation and ambient music hitting my nerves like fucking alarm bells and explosions. Literally had to leave and go walk around somewhere to calm down. Unsolvable technological problems that SHOULD BE SIMPLE literally overwhelm me. When that shit happens, I cannot think. I become an absolute creature, I cannot be reasoned with, I am like a dog in a thunderstorm, and bark starts to want to bite.

It is something simple. It Should Be Simple. Fucking hell, it Should Not Be. But it is. And it can't be stopped. And there's so much other stress in my life, I literally cannot deal with it.

In case anyone noticed that I've been kinda inactive it's because my PC broke and I had to send it in for repair about two weeks ago, so I've been posting from my Ipad. Well, my PC was sent in for repair only to have completely break while it was there. So, I bought a new PC and I've just been getting everything set up. Anyway, while playing a game on steam, the monitor started to glitch and this one it now broken too. It lasted two days. TWO DAYS. I'm gonna return it and get a new one for free because of the 15 day money back guarantee, but I still can't believe this. I'm so sorry about the lack of posts recently and hopefully I'll have a good setup again soon. Also, in case two PCs breaking wasn't enough, anyone want a list of other tech that broke this month?

Technology hates me 😔

A week ago I tried to play on my Wii U, only to be met with a disc drive error upon boot up, and now my original Wii is doing something similar; disc error during game play, or when I'm playing a rom (homebrew) the wii just. Shuts off without warning.

😮‍💨 First my laptop breaks, then my phone screen cracks, then my Wii U bricks, and now my Wii breaks. And I ain't got shit to replace anything
