TavQotD: What would your tav's icon of their origin story be?

☀️ Halion's icon reflects his faith in his God, faith in himself and his struggles as a classic 'Hero' archetype.

His icon includes the holy symbol of Lathander, his patron god, while the shattered sword symbolises his inner struggle of fighting for others. On one hand, he wishes for nothing more then to protect the needy, but the toll of taking lives ways heavily on him with every slash of his sword. Such a inner conflict had him leaving his Paladin Order just before the nautaloid abduction, his confidence shaken.

🦋 For Morpho, after 10 years of servitude, they now channel their anger to help others, in their own twisted way.

Morpho was tricked into a devil's contract which had them serving as an in-house performer for the past 10 years. Essentially a caged bird, there to entertain and look pretty for house guests. They harbour a lot of frustration but are trying their hardest turn that energy into something positive, and have some damn fun while they still can. Morpho is also half fey, their wings symbolising a parallel of their soft appearance and underlying rage.

7, What circumstances led to your Tav becoming their Class/Subclass?

(Also. After seeing your AWESOME art, is your Tav always close to naked? Is he a nudist? I support him but I am So Curious haha)

thank you so much!! Monthas had a lot of anger he repressed growing up. He wasn’t allowed to show any emotion at all. His mother was the type to scream at him if he showed any sign of negative emotion because she saw it as a personal slight at her parenting. She was a very “I’ll give you something to cry about” or “how dare you be sad when I give you everything” kind of mother. He wasn’t allowed to be angry so it just bubbled deep inside of him. Until it all exploded on the night he killed her. When he went on his own he was just this little ball of rage. Over time he realized he kinda hated being so angry and mean. He didn’t want to be bitter and he didn’t like the way he felt after a confrontation. He shifted to a more healthy way of getting it out through combat and shifting his focus into battle rage to protect people instead of lashing out at strangers. Thus barbarian. As for the almost nude thing. Well. He’s not a nudist we wears clothes most of the time it’s just that Monthas has a lot of sensory issues and gets very overstimulated by clothes. His camp clothes is just his underwear. It’s just how he de-stimulizes himself.

Ah, the things we do for love. I felt so bad reaching the end of my first playthrough, because despite everything, in the peace that follows the fall of the Netherbrain, Shadowheart wishes her parents had lived to be a part of her happy ending. And I just couldn't take it. I went back to my old save from the House of Grief and refused to let them sacrifice themselves. I'm now having to repeat most of Act 3 to get back to Morgaine and Shadowheart's happy ending. I'm back in the Iron Throne now, it's just as awful as it was the first time. But oh, it is so, so very worth it.

And hey, we broke into the House of Hope and stole back our contract from Raphael, right? How hard can it be to snatch a soul binding pact from Mizora. Sure, she can call on Zariel for aid, but I've been meaning to beat the brimstone out of that archdevil for what she did to Karlach anyway. All's well that ends well.

Halion: Soft spoken, talkative and excitable (contrary to popular belief, Halion is NOT a himbo. He is well read and a smart boi who loves talking about his special interests)

Laios - In Halion’s Descent into Avernus Campaign, he’s the keeper of the devil encyclopaedia and it reminds me of Laios’ excitement with his monster manual. Halion also doesn’t know when to shush sometimes

G’raha - specifically post exarch, he’s well read, levelheaded but also has a very excitable side

Makoto - again, soft spoken and selfless, a gentle soul

Prince Sidon - friendly bisexual king with pointy teeth lol

Morpho: Morally ambiguous, Morpho could very easily be the biggest bitch if they wanted to, but they choose to take the higher ground, though they’re methods are still a little questionable sometimes…

Eda: Her whole carefree chaotic vibe, her competitiveness and attitude of “I may be old but I still rock it” is very Morpho

Pantalone - I don’t know much about him, but his ‘kind soft but with an underlying intimidating vibe’ plays a big part in Morpho’s characterisation, as well as his wardrobe

Lord Shen - nothing alike in personality, but I always think of him when Morpho uses the eyes on their wings (he has a +17 to intimidation for a reason…)

Emet Selch - his flamboyant and ‘friendly’ nature from the beginning of shadowbringers is Morpho in a nutshell. He’s dramatic and sarcastic, and they have a matching white streak
