Yalia Sábio Sussurro
Yalia Sábio Sussurro
Tumblr media

Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I know what I said. My trust was misplaced. King Varian Wrynn says: What of the Sin'dorei - the Sunreavers? Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Those that surrendered are being taken to the Violet Hold. I make no guarantees about those who chose to fight. [...] Once Horde, always Horde. I see that now. I'm mobilizing the Kirin Tor. King Varian Wrynn says: Jaina. We've got to work together on this. The Alliance must act as one. Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Don't get soft on me, Varian.
Tumblr media
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: This has been the worst year of my life: Theramore, destroyed. And a betrayal from within the Kirin Tor. The lesson is clear. From here on out, I'm taking the initiative.
Tumblr media
Vereesa Windrunner says: The Horde is just across the courtyard. Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Of course they are. One problem at a time, Vereesa. Lady Jaina Proudmooore yells: Everyone! Advance! And if anyone sees that traitor, Aethas Sunreaver, save that one for me… [....] Lady Jaina Proudmoore yells: Ignore the Horde - focus on the Zandalari guarding the door!
Lady Jaina Proudmoore yells: Hand over the Archmage and I may yet allow you to walk out of here, Lor'themar. Lor'themar Theron yells: Proudmoore! You will release my people from the Violet Hold, or I will cut you down myself! Lady Jaina Proudmoore yells: Your people are legitimate prisoners of war. They orchestrated an attack on Darnassus from MY city- Lor'themar Theron yells: The Sunreavers knew NOTHING of Garrosh's raid on Darnassus! Aethas Sunreaver shifts uncomfortably. Taran Zhu yells: ENOUGH!! There will be no more bloodshed today. Taran Zhu yells: I see now why your Alliance and Horde cannot stop fighting. Taran Zhu yells: Every reprisal is itself an act of aggression, and every act of aggression triggers immediate reprisal. Jaina and Lor'themar shout over each other. Lady Jaina Proudmoore yells: They have undermined EVERY attempt at peace! Lor'themar Theron yells: I must protect my sovereign people. Taran Zhu yells: SILENCE! YOU must break the cycle. Taran Zhu yells: It ends TODAY. Here. The cycle ends when you, Regent Lord, and you, Lady Proudmoore, turn from one another. And walk. Away. Lor'themar narrows his eyes. Jaina takes a deep breath. Lor'themar Theorn yells: Rangers. Lower your weapons. Scout Captain Elsia yells: My Lord! Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Very well. We will stand down. Vereesa Windrunner yells: They killed my husband! Lady Jaina Proudmooore says: This won't bring him back. Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: But know this, "Blood" Elf: There can be no peace while Hellscream is Warchief of the Horde.
Tumblr media
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Vereesa, are you hurt? Vereesa Windrunner says: It is nothing. I am fine. Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: You need to get back to camp. I can't lose you.

Oh man who are your WoW/blizz faves?
Wrathion—I love how he interacts with the other characters, he is so smart and witty. Also, his dragon form model? Amazing. I liked his encounter in Ny'alotha too.
Majordomo Selistra—I love them, one of my favourite characters in Dragonflight honestly.
Renethal—my prince! I love Revendreth so much, best SL zone and you can fight me on this. My main was Venthyr even though it was the weakest covenant for my spec because I loved it so much. LOL
Lor'themar—he might be my oldest WoW crush. LOL He's one of those lore chararcters that feels dependable to me, I don't have to worry about him going mad with power and causing too much trouble.
Illidan—fan favourite for an obvious reason. I really warmed up to him in Legion since I didn't start playing until the end of BC. I'm still trying to get his glaives though, I'm missing one.
Anduin—I play Horde 95% of the time (except for my one Alliance alt I use for faction-specific mount/pet collecting). I really warmed up to him in BFA and Shadowlands. His cinematics have been SO GOOD, props to his VA.
Khadgar—the Solomon of WoW, I love this guy. His jokes are so bad, they're ridiculous. A total dilf for sure.
Rokhan—one of my favourite characters in BFA. I love trolls.
Bwonsamdi—sketchy af but hilarious. Troll fav bias showing here too.
Problematic favs (aka mostly bad guys/anti-heros I'm down bad for):
I am secretly #TeamOldGods except for C'thun. I dig the lore and the aesthetic and the creepy language and tentacles they're just really neat.
Denathrius—oh, Daddy D and his horny sword. Love this asshole, love his zone, love his raid, love his boss fight, love his little sword pet that kills things when she follows me around. BIG FAV.
Guldan—I don't like many orc characters but the chokehold he has on me. He's so evil and menacing. And his voice???
Azshara—she's been such a recurring villain throughout the game, it really built up the hype for me by the time she had more screen time in BFA. Her Warbringers cinematic was amazing. What a queen. Her boss fight was so tedious but still kind of fun. Actually, I enjoyed the Eternal Palace raid overall.
Zul—it was so obvious he was gonna go bad, but I did not care. My troll bias is showing again.
Taran Zhu—don't ask.
Falric and Marwyn—I am so weak for their voices like hello? Absolute monsters, but I'd let that happen.

"Please, Call Me Dadgar"
Tumblr media
Continue Dear Prince Dandelion here.
Quest Objective: Give Dadgars and Illidads to those in need.
A fleeting flicker of warmth bloomed in my chest. I said hi! And he saw me—! Well I didn't “say” hi technically, but—
My view of Anduin was blocked by Wrathion’s hair. He leaned in front of me, gently tossing his head. His curls rippled.
“Quickly, Eona! How are my talons? I had them sharpened and embedded with gold two days ago. Have they dulled?” Wrathion was nearly sitting on my lap as he waved in Anduin’s direction.
“How did you get over here so fast?” I tried to push him off without making a scene. People were starting to glance at us. My eyes pleaded for Kalec’s help, only for him to muffle a laugh and point a finger at me under the table.
Sometimes I wish I was an only child. Oh wait—
“I take it you two—erm, three, have history,” Khadgar mused. I finally shoved Wrathion off and he landed in Kalec’s lap.
“Oh, the perfume,” Kalec gagged as Wrathion poised himself on his new living pedestal.
“There was some chemistry between King Wrynn and myself,” Wrathion waved at Anduin once more. Wrath had kept in touch with Anduin, so to speak. There were certain days where one might glimpse a massive black bird in a tree next to Stormwind Keep, peeking into one of the windows.
“Chemistry?” I repeated. A hand supported my chin as I regarded the helpless heap of brothers next to me.
“It was always a regret of mine that you were the third wheel in our very sensual relationship,” Wrathion proclaimed with mock sympathy. “Not to worry, Eona. There is someone out there for you. Not all of our siblings are as fortunate, however…”
Kalec’s face puckered. He muttered under his breath,  “It is wrong to hit a five year-old. It is wrong to hit a five year-old…”
We had attracted more than a few stares (enough to make Khadgar resist the contents of his flask). Taran Zhu’s back was to us, shunning our party for our outbursts. I had enough of the summit.
I slipped out of my seat and Khadgar’s reach as I sped towards the exit. The frost-bitten air revealed how hot my face was. My heart was still pounding from the thought of Anduin seeing me—and witnessing my overly-extroverted and dorky family.
I didn’t take Wrathion’s approach in stalking Anduin over the years. I’d snuck in letters and received a few in return. I had made a quick appearance at Varian’s funeral, but few words were exchanged at the event. The distance between us felt long—not in a physical sense. Garrosh was gone. The red dragonflight was not fond of me (my mother’s reputation, of course). My standing among the Horde recovered after chasing Illidan and killing demons. But how could I speak to Andy about grieving monsters? How could I tell him about killing my mom’s best friend—?
I sat on the steps, wincing as the icy stone beneath me summoned memories of Northrend. I barely felt the cold, yet I still kicked the snow off the step near my foot.
“Eona?”
When I looked up, a shade of cobalt that made the color of the sky inferior filled my vision. I craned my neck to take in all of Anduin.
“Hi. You’re tall now,” I said. He smiled.
I started to stand when Andy offered me a gloved hand. Ever the gentleman. I paid particular attention to when our fingers touched, pleasantly surprised at the electric current that still passed between us. Some things hadn’t changed.
At full height, I was eye level with his collarbone. I found myself subconsciously shifting to my tiptoes to be near eye level. Would it be weird to move to the step above him just to meet his gaze?
“And you have freckles,” he replied. “They look beautiful.”
I tucked a hair away from my face. “Thanks. I like the ponytail. It’s a nice touch.”
“You think so? It’s a new style,” His averted his eyes from the praise, cheeks dusted pink.
“I think it suits you. You’re a lot more…metal-y than I remember, too,” I mused, poking his breastplate.
Andy’s grin could’ve melted the ice on the entire mountainside. The longer I stared at his lips, the longer the summit and the world around us faded into a pale sky that was simply a canvas to his light.
A short silence passed that I hadn’t registered until I realized neither of us had said a word.
“I’m sorry—”
“I missed you—”
We paused. My apology and his statement hung in the air. For the first time today, Anduin frowned. “Why are you apologizing?”
“It’s been awhile since we’ve been in the same room,” I never chose my words so delicately when addressing Anduin. I had always assumed that one day we would…continue where we left off. But my world feels too dark for someone as bright as Andy. “A lot has happened.”
Anduin nodded gravely. “Yes. That is true…I heard Garrosh is…”
I shrugged. “He’s old news.”
“I read your dissertation from your time at Dalaran.”
I blinked in surprise. I had mentioned in some letters to Anduin that I studied at Dalaran during my time at Wyrmrest Temple. But I never spoke of my dissertation. Anduin continued,  “I enjoyed your musical pieces very much. I am intrigued, however, in why you decided to venture into legal studies when you published groundbreaking work on crystology.”
A puff of steam escaped Andy’s lips, “You established a garrison on Draenor. You led battlement plans for attacking Argus—”
“You…followed my career,” I said softly.
Anduin shrugged. “It’s not the same as hearing it from you, but it’s a part of you. I’d be glad to hear more…if you’d like to tell me, that is.”
I smiled. He wasn’t the only one who was curious (or had an undercover black dragon thirsty for gossip). Khadgar was my other source, surprisingly. “I heard you published theological studies under the Exodar archives. You also tutored under Khadgar for a brief time to study Naaru and edited his section under Outland Magics.”
“I wanted to visit Shattrath myself, but my father wasn’t fond of me leaving the keep…” Andy’s voice trailed off. The smile that had caressed his face before faded into a firm line. “I miss him, too.”
“I’m sorry, Andy—” Reflex took over and I reached out to touch his shoulder.
The double doors to the temple slammed open. We broke apart as Khadgar and Illidan stormed out of the meeting. Khadgar scoffed; Illidan smirked.
Remorse of discussing Varian still lingered on Anduin’s face. I flashed a fractured smile, “Want to borrow one of mine?”
“I can’t take you anywhere—oh, Anduin. Good day to you,” Khadgar’s tone lightened as he recognized Anduin. Khadgar’s eyebrows took on a form I didn’t like when he looked between Andy and I.
“Are you sure you don’t want to unleash your pathetic fury on this pair for missing the meeting?” Illidan retorted, passing us down the stairs with barely a nod.
“Says the one who impaled the table!” Khadgar pulled at his clipped ivory tresses.
“There was a bug. It was unsanitary.”
“It was my finger.”
“And I stand morally correct.” Illidan twirled one of his twin blades. A portal of murky emerald pooled in the air before him. “This was a waste of time.”
“Do not expect me to go out for drinks with you later…! It seems you’ve made a friend, Eona,” Khadgar’s mood seemed to brighten as Illidan’s form was eaten by the energy of the portal and transported miles away. Khadgar took his place at my side on the step below, gripping my shoulders. “What a lovely well-mannered and good influence you find yourself in the company of.”
I wanted to die of embarrassment.
“You’re layering the Dadgar on pretty thick for someone carrying a flask,” I muttered to him, attempting once more to smile in front of Anduin and failing miserably.
“Please don’t scare this one away. He’s the only one in our social circle that doesn’t have horns or hooves or gives me a reason to drink,” Khadgar continued to smile at Anduin the entire time he mumbled to me. “Will you be attending the retreat at Dalaran, Anduin?”
A retreat. Also code for the world leaders exhausted Taran Zhu’s hospitality and he was sending them nicely packaged to the Kirin Tor.
“Of course. It’s in the pamphlet,” Andy replied.
Khadgar pressed a hand to his breast. “Don’t let this one go, Eon.”
“I can hear you, Archmage.”
“Please, call me Dadgar.”

I feel like MoP had a lot going for it, but a lot of players who talk about it now don't remember what it was actually like to play it, lol. (And a lot of the story felt either irrelevant or confusing - lots of "something happened randomly so now this is going on" or "sha made some guy act like a cartoon villain.") [Also I tried to send this as a reply but tumblr wouldn't let me sorry.]
mop felt like when they were trying to start take the faction war seriously and in the end it turned into "the horde is kidnapping children" "the alliance is enslaving people" "one guy stole a bell and bc of that a woman went on an ethnic cleanse and is somehow justified in this for 8 years" "a child had every bone in his body broken by the leader of the horde—dont worry hes fine" "and then taran zhu appeared"

Taran Zhu literally calls it a race war when he's talking to alliance and horde forces in the Jade Forest. i don't know how you couldn't be racist against orcs at this point. They killed all the draenei, built a road out of their bodies, came to wzeroyand genocided the humans, settled in durotar and tried to genocide the elves, then they actually DO genocide the elves. like holy shit let me fictional character be mad at these people who can't go two expansions without mass murder
bruh it sounds like you’re the one mad and not your fictional character

Shadow of the Horde Review
Tumblr media
During another cross-country trip, I finished the book! Unlike some of the others, after a bit I would turn to this book to find out more and more of what would happen to the characters within.
No that didn't make me want to play the game. EVER.
Basic: 4.5/5. After reading these, I'd definitely put the other two books down at least a half point. While slow to begin, the author does a good job of building characters in the world to where even if you don't know their full story, you want to see them succeed and everyone get out of the dangers.
The Best: Vol'jin and his relations with everyone, including the Zandalari character Khal'ak and a human named Tyrathan. Vol'jin learning and his growth through the story makes for a wonderful journey before the end, and is one that makes me enjoy seeing his recovery, his friendships, and how he faces the temptation of power from the Zandalari as they arrive on the shores of Pandaria.
The Meh: The beginning, retelling a plot point to explain Vol'jin's "death" in-game, didn't make much sense. Granted, it was written from a limited third person perspective, so it's understandable. The beginning was also very slow in establishing things, but I'm kind of glad it took it's time.
The Bad: Really, I want to say that unless you're like me, and wandering through the books, or have some passing knowledge of things, you may get to where you aren't able to get into the story. Some of the stuff about the Shado-Pan does make me wonder about things, but the history does make it so it's understandable where some of the ideas come from. Still, how Taran Zhu handles things also makes me kinda hope other stories will make me like him a bit more.
Despite the bad, I found that even without knowing more of Vol'jin's past or abilities, I enjoyed his character and that of the others. Michael Stackpole did a great job of adding in someone to make things a bit more balanced, and after the last two, I kinda want more than just this one. Between Baine and Vol'jin, those two are near my favorite, if they weren't held back by...
*points at Blizzard and Activision again*
Well, next up...:Warcrimes

Who do you like about the races you've chosen for your characters? 🤔
Worgen mostly because I am a huge werewolf fan and grew up with all the old werewolf movies.
Pandaren because I just think they are really cool mostly because of the Shado-Pan and such. Taran Zhu is one of my all time favorite World of Warcraft Characters. Same goes for the mogu and I made Zhu-shi half mogu-pandaren because I wanted to explore both races and how they would intermingle..
I think all the races have their cool perks but there are just so many and there are so many other people who can do some of the other races more justice than I could.
Thanks for the ask @jacobdcheshyre

continuing my read through of shadows of the horde and i have a few more thoughts about vol’jin and tyrathan - like how Vol’jin often goes off on these mental tangents about how suffering is what makes a troll a troll and people being afraid of him is Good Actually and dear GOD i want to just sit him down with a nice pixar movie and talk about feelings until i know he’s okay
also my god if you weren’t sure how big Zandas are this book will sure let you know that they are MASSIVE
