Hung out with some friends this weekend that I have seen in ages. This full bag of yarn has been donated by a kind person for me to make winter woollies for any people who need it who come for free food at the Exeter Food Fight stands. As you can see, several litters of feral kittens high on crack (I can think of no other explanation) have left the yarn in a wee bit of a mess. Disappointing? Discouraging? Not one bit. I'm one of those yarn addicts who loves the challenge of untangling this kind of mess, and there is a lot of great yarn to be unearthed. It's meditative and very satisfying. Good Morning Instagram Fam, and Happy Hump Day 🐪. . I just want to say thanks to everyone who’s reached out to me via comments, DMs, and texts regarding my post yesterday🤗. . It made me see how many of us are feeling these things or something similar😕. It warmed my heart up, and made me sad at the same time. I was delighted to hear that I am not alone, but it felt heavy knowing that so many makers, artists, and small businesspeople are dealing with these things in isolation😔. . I think I have an Idea though🥳! . I think I want to dedicate one post each week, (maybe less, maybe more) to updating you, the internet, myself maybe, on: . what is going on, . how I am feeling as a person, . How I feel my business is going . Maybe other stuff too . I think that by keeping it “real” a little more often, we could connect in a more “human” way, and we can be there for each other, as most of the messages I received suggested🤨. . I thought, of maybe incorporating a HASHTAG for this idea, so we can all participate, and check in with each other once in a while. . This morning I had to get up extra early so I thought I would catch up on my #365daysofgrannysquares challenge as I had fallen behind. The square called for purple and pink so I decided to use this purple from my stash knowing full well that the skein was tangled in a few places but I thought i only need it for the small flower bit so I should have enough free yarn and I can untangle it as I go! Well wishful thinking on my part not only did I not get the square done, I had to untangle a lot more than I thought I I did! But on the posy side I am nearly finish and I can start again tomorrow! It’s the third #martinacardigan by #weareknitters that I made, before I found Instagram and Ravelry and for some reason it was stuffed at the bottom of my wardrobe. I’ve had SO much more energy the last few days and I’ve done a bit of a spring clean of my wardrobes and drawers and this was one of the gems that I thought - ‘Oh that’s where that went!’ I pretty much straight away put it in the machine on a wool wash, it took no time to dry and I’ve been really enjoying wearing it today. The colour - I can’t remember the name of the colour, but isn’t it lovely? . And, I just happened to have two Jul button fasteners in the lightest shade so I can keep it together at the front - thanks to #tangledyarns for importing these for me a little while ago!
