Okay, lemme just ramble for a sec, I haven't read the Manga but Highschool!Geto believes in survival of the fittest. And Highschool!Gojo believes that assigning responsibility to strength is a quality of the weak.

I feel like H!Geto's reasoning is more like an excuse he keeps telling himself to make himself believe it. Because its the right thing. Natural. The logical, kind thing. He knew the ramifications and chose this, still.

They both resolved to save Riko if she wishes it. Yet, H!Gojo is the one to entertain her and indulge her, H!Geto is the one to reach out a hand to her. It's like two acts of saving but feels a bit lackluster on Geto's end, huh?

It's Gojo who gives Riko an extra day of fun. Who stays awake all night for her. Who strains himself. Who sees her. After all, we dont see Geto splashing around in the water with her, do we?

Which is to say that, Geto sees a young girl, and like all those her age she deserves a chance to be a child. It's only right. So if she doesn't want to assimilate with Tengen that's fine, they'll take care of it.

Gojo on the other hand sees the star plasma vessel, someone who was different and couldn't be anything but different from the start, and felt isolated from others as a consequence--and relates to her.
