This movie is listed as Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and a comedy. I’ve seen this movie so many times in the past 11 years. Definitely one of those What The Fuck did I just watch? movies. Something to watch when you’re baked, or even if you just like the strange and unusual, as Lydia describes herself.

I made myself a fancy cup of coffee with whip cream and chocolate sauce in preparation for this movie. Wanted something delicious to go with the creepy.

We follow Chase Williamson, Dave, around as he is on a drug called "Soy Sauce" and trying to find out what happened to his friend John, played by Rob Mayes.

One of my favorite things about this movie is that they got Paul Giamatti to play a role. Like what are the odds he’s in this movie. I don’t even think that this movie went into theaters. I found out about it from a guy I was seeing at the time it came out and it is based off of a book he read so I’m not sure if it went straight to… you know what… l’ll just leave this hear. It isn’t important. What is, a girl just burst into several snakes and a door knob turned into a dick!

Now we have this meat man, literal man made out of different meats (whole turkey, ribs, sausage links).

There is the randomest band. They sing “Camel Holocaust” its definitely not s song like I’ve ever heard before. The beat is really good though. We are seeing this band as a background to how they got Soy Sauce.

We Meet Robert Marley, played by Tai Bennett. He does a really good job of playing someone reaaaaaally creepy. He is going about proving Dave that his abilities are real. All I have to say is high or not, a lot of what happens in this movie makes a lot of sense. Makes you think.

Love that the dog in this movie has a punny name. it’s Bark Lee 🤣

Yes, let me put a syringe that has an unknown drug in out pants pocket. Yes yes, that sounds like a smart idea 🙄

Idk what it is about CW. He just cracks me up through this whole movie. When he first gets injected and is talking to the priest. It’s some freaking/funny shit 😂

If you know anything about Doug Jones, it should give you some insight into the level of creep factor he brings to this movie.. I swear in Buffy it’s the creepiest.

Okay so this next part. The dude’s mustache just comes ripping off of his face and then flies around like a fucking bat!! Like WHAT?!

I’m like not even half way through the movie and at 500 words. What are y’all going to do with me? Lol. I just run off. Wonder if more than my bestie actually reads these.. hmmm. Oh well. I enjoy it so that’s all that matters 😝

RM is proving a point to CW about how he is able to hear him so you just have CW walking around town with a bratwurst on a bun up to his ear.

Now I do have to say that the ghost door and using someone who is an amputee to open it was a pretty unique thing. We have Amy, played by Fabianne Therese. She is missing her left hand and she uses it to turn the doorknob.

They enter this other world to destroy their next enemy. Korrok.

Bark Lee saves the day again. What a good boy.

I’ll leave the rest of this for you to watch. It is definitely all it is described to be. If you’re wondering where to watch it, you can buy the DVD like me, or rent it on Prime. At least as of this posting it is on Prime Video.

Alex Garland's ‘Warfare' Could Be A24's Most Expensive Movie — World of Reel

Much has been made about Alex Garland’s “Civil War” being the most expensive movie in A24 history, its production was said to have cost around $50 million. However, Jeff Sneider is hearing that Garland’s next film, “Warfare”, which he’s co-directing with Ray Mendoza, might be even more expensive. My best guess is its budget might hit the $60-70 million range.

Production on “Warfare” is supposed to begin in May. We don’t know much about the plot except that it is set in 2007 during the Iraq war. The cast includes Charles Melton, Joseph Quinn, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Kit Connor, Cosmo Jarvis, Michael Gandolfini, Taylor John Smith, Finn Bennett, Henrique Zaga and Adain Bradley.

Sneider adds that most if not all of these actors are currently undergoing military training at a Navy SEAL-like boot camp in England. They are striving for authenticity with this one and that’s always a good sign.

Garland’s co-director, Mendoza, is a war expert having collaborated with the History Channel as a producer on the documentary series “The Warfighters.” His IMDb doesn’t show any directing credits to his name, so this film with Garland will be his feature filmmaking debut.

On 6th October 1938 the Maia flying boat took off from the River Tay with the Mercury seaplane on its shoulders, it flew 6,045 miles to South Africa creating the record for the longest seaplane flight.

After getting about six miles outside Dundee, between the city and Forfar, the planes separated and the Mercury headed towards Africa. It touched down on the River Orange, setting the then seaplane distance record.

Mercury and Maia were a composite aircraft, one aircraft fixed to the top of the other, very much like the 747/Space Shuttle combination which was used to move the shuttle around America.

In this case it was two seaplanes - both aircraft took off and the object of that exercise of carrying one piggyback was to reduce fuel consumption and therefore leave the maximum amount of fuel available to the smaller aircraft (the Mercury) which would separate from the large mothership below (the Maia). The captain of the Mercury, Don Bennett, had feared that he was running low on fuel about halfway through his journey but managed to push on and descended through a cloud of flamingos.

The second pic is a street sign near Dundee Airport commemorating the event, it reads.....

: "Mayo Avenue The street names at Dundee Airport commemorate the World Record for the longest uninterrupted flight by a seaplane. At noon on 6 October 1938 an Empire Flying boat called "Maia" took off from the River Tay carrying a smaller seaplane called "Mercury" on its back. This piggy-back method of launching long distance aircraft was called the "Mayo Composite" after Major Robert Mayo of Imperial Airways who devised the technique. The two planes separated over Dundee Law and Captain Donald C.T. Bennett (later to be founder of the Pathfinder bomber force) and his co-pilot Ian Harvey, proceeded to fly 6,045 miles in Mercury in 42 hours 26 minutes. The finishing point was the estuary of the Orange River at Alexander Bay in South Africa, as the aircraft had insufficient fuel to reach its intended destination of Capetown due to adverse weather on route. “Mai Tai Manor” was built in 1977 in Palm Springs, California. It’s owned by “Mean Girls” star Jonathan Bennett, widely recognized for his role as Aaron Samuels. The 3bd. 2ba. mid-century modern home is for sale for $1.15M.

Double doors open into the combination kitchen/living room. I’m not sure that I like the kitchen being so close to the front door. 

I like those vintage phones on the wall.

So, this is the kitchen/living room layout.

The kitchen counter is very long. 

Looks like the stone fireplace has been painted white and the wall was painted blue, but it was probably originally natural wood. Gives it a more updated feel.

A hall to the bedrooms & baths leads off the main living area.

The main bd. doors appear to be on a track and fold open. 

There’re also double doors to the back yard.

Nice bath remodeled with mosaic tiles and a floating sink.

This children’s bedroom is unusual.

The bunk beds collapse. I wonder if they’re built in and come with the house.

A covered porch spans the length of the house.

There’s a lovely pool and patio with a fire pit.

I love the turquoise accents.

And, look at how beautifully it lights up at night. Love the purple tree.
