Are there any songs you associate with any drivers? I'm thinking jim specifically but if there are any others... i'm craving new music

ok. my musical associations make about as much sense as assigning "lucy in the sky with diamonds" to dan gurney when he won le mans, so bear that in mind when viewing the following songs, but these are all songs i love!

1. this one is for jim, and it's "i want to hold your hand" just because yes. i would very much like to hold his hand. more than that i'd like to give him a hug but nobody has written a song about that yet so i have to make do.

2. "crackerbox palace" for ronnie peterson, and it's just because of the video footage of him at friar park where the music video was filmed <3

3. "stray italian greyhound" is nigel mansell because of one epic playlist by @ricciardopatrese that shifted my entire mode of being (here it is), and now i can't get the association out of my head lmao

4. for some reason, "amelia" (yes, the song i can't shut up about) is strongly tied to jacky ickx for me. i couldn't tell you why. i heard the line i was driving across the burning desert and immediately thought of the paris-dakar rally. (i'm attaching the live version because it tears my heart out every time i listen to it)

5. in that vein (because hejira is a masterpiece) "refuge of the roads" is my ultimate classic f1 song. it's about people thinking you're crazy! it's about deep emotions that don't make much sense but you feel them anyway! it's about the refuge of the roads! listen to it!
