December 2, 2017, we finally left the hospital after Carter's diagnosis 31 days prior on 11/1/17. We didn't hold his hand, because he was just shy of 7 months old and was in a stroller. But I'll never forget that feeling of leaving Boston Children's with him. I was so happy to be leaving the hospital after such a long stay but also so, SO scared and anxious thinking about how I'd manage this tiny little man's blood sugar without the constant supervision of doctors and nurses. All those feelings will never, ever leave me. Do you remember leaving the hospital with your T1? How did you feel? ๐๐๏ธ๐ #t1dlookslikehim #t1dyoudontsee #bostonchildrenshospital #diabetesdiagnosis #neonataldiabetes #monogenicdiabetes #infantsandinsulin #type1d #t1dbaby #t1parents #t1dmom #insulindependent #typeonediabetes #type1diabetes #7monthsold #nostalgia #chronicillness #invisibleillness
