Okay so something about new SR I love-hate is its notoriety system. Idk how much yall played, but when you get max notoriety level, the game spawns a mini-boss for you to fight, and once you kill them, that scares away the rest of the gang fighting you and causes them to flee in fear and wipe your notoriety. This makes sense for the gangs right? I mean they send the biggest guy that their faction gave their best resources to, and you destroy them like a wet paper, ofc they'd be scared shitless
What's funny, is that this system also applies to the Police/National Guard. When you reach max notoriety, National Guard will start spawning, with one giant tank in the middle. If you destroy the tank or kill its driver, that will cause the entire National Guard (or cops if they didn't despawn) to flee in fear from you and wipe away your notoriety.
And that's so damn absurd and funny to me. You commit the crimes after crimes, and level half the city with your cutting edge weapons, but if you manage to destroy one tank (which all it takes is one RPG rocket you can buy as soon as you get in game), it will cause the Santo Ileso Police Department to drop all criminal charges against you for doing a bare minimum of carrying one RPG and knowing how to use it
drew this on my phone in the gallery app at like 4am i just cleaned it up + colored it in for funsies. their relationship means everything to me. caleb's magical girl transformation involves lots of holographic pixels and he is fucking pissed
bonus image accompanying the story from the tags
also i swear i do actually draw the other Veneer characters i'm just fixating on the scientists rn
in order left to right, top row to bottom row: Thrymr Orvyn, Leonardo James Bingham [Bing for short], Echo Adan, Jack Mako Hyder [former drowned corpse], Ike Olis, Bing (again) and Chase Allen [code name: Orion] with his pet parasite, Echo (again), Bing (again x2), and Jikan Diggory with Rose the cat
i guess jikan also counts under the scientist umbrella, but he's not crestfall...

6039-1 Twin Arm Launcher
(1987, 77 pieces, 33 different parts)
The Twin Arm Launcher is the first of the Lion Knight catapults and the second catapult for the LEGOLAND Castle System series in general. It's a black catapult with brown wheels and one firing mechanism on each side. The catapult has four yellow and one red 1x1 circle bricks that can be launched with the catapult. The set also has a knight on a white horse with yellow lion print on a red background.
The two minifigures for this set are:
-A red archer torso with blue arms and a gold rampant lion on a triangular blue background with a gold outline and blue legs with a black belt.
-A red knight torso with blue arms and the silver breastplate print with blue legs and a black belt.
Both minifigures wear dark gray axe-wielder helmets and carry dark gray circle shields. The dark gray circle shields are probably the most difficult piece of this set to find, as it's only found in nine castle sets from 1984-1990.
Back of the box builds for this set include jousting practice, a fire torch launching catapult, and a cart with a supply barrel. Rebrickable users carel0180 and Mandarini both provided several alternate builds for this set found here.
This was another of my original sets from my younger days and it's the only set where my family bought me two of them. I'm pretty sure one came from one of my grandparents and one came from my parents. I remember them being very upset that I had duplicates but I tried to explain to them (and still have to attempt to explain to them) that duplicates are great! I don't care if I have more than one of a set, especially not a castle set :)
Now. I'm not really an army and war-mongering LEGO Castle builder and I'm probably that one castle fan who never separated my LEGO castles into factions so they could go to war, which means even younger me didn't have much LEGO use for a catapult. But I can guarantee you that I had a wonderful time using the catapult to fire bricks at my older brothers any time they tried to come into my room :) (I'm probably one of those people who encouraged LEGO to later instructions to add the little "don't shoot people in the eye" LEGO cartoon drawings :)
A free download of the instructions can be found at ToysPeriod and inventory for this set can be found at BrickLink and Rebrickable. If you want to know more about the designer, Daniel August Krentz, BrickSet did a really nice tribute and has a full list of everything he designed.
Do you have a color coded spreadsheet of all your video games marked with completion status and platform that stretches for hundreds, if not thousands, of rows, or are you normal?
Forgot to post this but here’s this pink lizard that I tamed in order to carry out The Great Outskirts Pink Lizard Genocide of 2023. Her name is Missile Launcher and I decided to spare her since she looked kinda cute. I left her behind when I entered Farm Arrays to go ascend.
