Grow some of your own food! This has been my mantra for so many years. Even if you're a city dweller and you have a window you can grow some herbs! If you've got a little terrace you can grow lots of herbs, lettuces, strawberries and tomatoes...if you've got a bit of sunshine you can try to grow almost anything. You'll be so proud the first time you serve your guests a salad that you've grown yourself and just think of the pleasure that you'll get when you stuff a chicken with fresh rosemary from one of your own plants or create a lovely burrata salad with basil and tomatoes from your own garden! • This is aromatherapy at its best.... take some time to stop and smell the Roses... seriously! I’m down at the @westernreserveherbsociety gardens where I work enjoying these glorious blooms. There’s nothing lovelier than the fragrance of an old vintage rose and really nothing better for your skin and your soul. I’ve noticed over the years that when I’ve harvested rose petals for tea and jam, that my hands and face get covered with rose oils and everything just feels better and my mood always gets brighter. I use rosewater on my skin everyday for its anti inflammatory properties in the morning and at night before I go to sleep. I drink rose tea made from my own vintage roses and I love to make rose jam and rose infused honey and don’t even get me started on rose perfume. It’s amazing to me that one plant can provide so much joy and healing all at the same time.
