Do they have any routines/rituals in their relationship? -- i don’t know if this counts but vernon almost always wakes up first and rolls job a blunt, after he does an insane amount of coke. when job wakes up, he smokes and fixes them breakfast, if he feels like it. if not, vernon fixes them cereal or takes them out someplace or orders room service or a pizza. job also regularly irons vernon’s clothes, but he’s messed up and burned some things before.

job also cooks dinner almost every friday (before sundown ofc; if he waits too long, vernon does it). he also cuts vernon’s coke for him and makes hearts with it while he’s busy on the phone or something.

How do they take care of each other when they are sick/hurt? -- for some reason i can’t imagine vfk ever getting sick but if he was job would be all over him all day, and probably put on a sexy nurse outfit for him lmao. he’s more likely to get hurt but that’s the same thing. he’d get him whatever he wanted, put his coke on a little breakfast tray and everything, though i can see him dropping it by accident. he also always grabs and holds the tissues for vernon when he gets his nosebleeds.

job gets depressed a lot, sometimes pretty badly, to the point he doesn’t really want to get out of bed, and vernon always stays with him all day when he feels like that, and makes sure he eats, if he can get him to. he’ll also wash him in the tub since job won’t feel like bathing otherwise.

job also drinks too much sometimes, and vernon holds his hair back while he pukes, helps him into bed, and makes sure he has something nearby to throw up in if he needs to again.

How do they like to spend time together? -- they’re happy doing anything together, including staying up 12 hours straight at adjacent slot machines, losing a lot of vfk’s money (sort of his money, not really lol). one of job’s favorite ways to spend the day is staying in bed together and never getting dressed, smoking weed, having sex, smoking more weed while watching cartoons, eating some cereal, having more sex, smoking more weed, etc. it’s hard to narrow this down much because they do a lot of things together, job even waits in the car while vernon does drug deals. i don’t want to say he has a favorite (only because it sounds mean lmao), but he does get along best with elvira. he and mari are VERY different people, while he and elvira are a lot more alike, which is partly due to her deliberately emulating him when she was young, which mari never tried to do. not that he prefers elvira for being more like him, but they just tend to get along better because of it.

he doesn’t love elvira more, but he’s less likely to get into an argument or disagreement with her, though when they do have conflict, she often keeps it to herself because she wants to get back at him in some sneaky way, whereas mari will demand a conversation until she gets too upset and cries.

elvira is more calculated and cunning, while mari is more emotional and overly trusting of other people, and the sort of person to want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, which lola thinks is foolish.

THE ONLY NOISE IN THE HOUSE IS that of the fireplace,    roaring in the drawing room where Thomas Shelby sits.     He has a faraway look in his eyes,    as if he is somewhere else entirely,    his body doomed to rot as his mind leaves.    The cigarette in his hand has burned halfway down already,    having not touched his lips in many long minutes.    He replays Patricia’s face in his mind,    over and over,    the tears,    the anger,    the hatred.

She had been right.    He doesn’t deserve to be loved,    by her or by anyone.    He stares absently at Grace’s picture and then reaches over to swat it off the desk,    the first movement in almost fifteen minutes.     The frame crashes against the wooden bookshelf and shatters.    Grace continues to look away from him from behind the broken glass,     ashamed. 

There is a knock at the door that pulls him from his melancholy,    and he clears his throat,    putting out his cigarette in the crystal ashtray on his desk.    “ Come. ”

Frances,    his maid,    enters apologetically,    looking a bit frazzled.     “ Terribly sorry to bother you,    Mr. Shelby,    but there’s a woman here... ”

“ What woman ? ”

“ ... She’s drunk,    Mr. Shelby...    Drunk and irate.    I told her it was too late,    but she insisted she see you, and -- ”

so román thinks of job as a close friend and really fun to be around. pat's a little mean but she likes him a lot too (specially after their talk about their moms). laura took a while to warm up to him bc she was always lowkey stressed and she felt like job thought she was just román's annoying nagging wife. but she was happy that he was so sweet to her daughter, so over time she's like :/ ok maybe i was wrong, he's not as bad as i thought. yara thinks he's dirt under her shoe.

ok, not at all shocked about any of this, but yara’s made me laugh. job finds pat a little scary sometimes but he’s not scared of her, if that makes sense 😂 he thinks román is a cool and decent guy, even though he does some things that aren’t that cool, but job is not one to judge. laura, understandable, especially after he broke a bunch of shit in her kitchen because he was fucking around, but he never thought of her like that. i think it’s possibly from being raised by a single mother who was anything but meek, job doesn’t get men who look at and treat women like something other than a person. he did find her a little intimidating, mostly from sort of picking up on those feelings.

yara makes him nervous but he also thinks she’s an asshole and a snob and can’t understand why rosie likes her so much, even in verses where he’s not dating her.
