a   brief   note   on   rosie's   accent   :
rosie   is   a   brooklyn   baby   born   &   bred.   in   my   head,   she   sounds   very   much   like   naomi   lapaglia   from   the   wolf   of   wall   street   &   mona   lisa   vito   from   my   cousin   vinny. UNFORTUNATELY   i   am   but   a   dumb   english   girl.   i   dont   speak   in   that   accent   myself   nor   do   i   know   many   people   who   do.   so   pls   give   me   some   creative   licence   if   you   read   rosie's   dialogue   &   think   there's   no   way   she'd   say   those   words   /   speak   like   that   <3

bringing   work   to   the   bar   had   not   been   rosie’s   finest   idea.   there   was   nothing   less   enticing   than   a   daunting   pile   of   paperwork   when   the   temptation   of   tequila   shots   ,   vodka   cranberries   &   an   eventual   stumble   home   with   a   mediocre   fella   at   5am  was   calling   her   name.   deadlines   were   fast   approaching   a   faint   voice   warned   in   the   background.   rosie   ignored   it.   instead,   she   flashed   a   smile   at   the   other   woman.
“   one   vodka   cranberry,   darlin’,   would   be   greatly   appreciated   !   ”

“   what   did   you   want   to   tell   me?   ”            //            from   @webreak   |   accepting
Tumblr media
a   smirk   danced   across   painted   lips   ,   a   sly   dart   of   her   eyes   across   the   bar   to   peruse   who   was   nearby.      no   one   had   made   home   on   the   bar   stools   nearest   to   the   duo.      PERFECT.      she   rounded   on   fiadh   with   a   little   giggle.   rosie’s   movements   were   graceful   &   smooth;   a   gentleness   that   stood   in   juxtaposition   to   the   commonly   sharp   tone   of   voice.
“   weeeeeeell   honey…   ”   her   bronx   accent   as   thick   as   the   day   she   stepped   off   the   plane   in   london.   sometimes   the   flow   of   conversation   behind   the   bar   was   stilted   between   the   irish   and   new   york   natives,   the   music   often   too   loud   to   make   out   the   other’s   accent.   “   you   remember   whatshisname   from   the   bar   opposite?   the   one   who   came   in   yesterday   with   his   new   fiancée   …   ?   ”   her   eyebrows   raised   conspiratorily   at   reference   to   a   fellow   bartender   –   who   was   not   well   liked   in   the   juno   lounge.   “   well   last   night,   i   was   out   for   dinner   near   by   -   with   a   lovely   fella   off   tinder,   i’ll   tell   you   all   about   it   in   a   bit   -   and   he   walks   in   announcing   an   engagement…   and   darlin’   i   did   not   recognise   the   woman   on   his   arm.   ”
