Second Preview, this time for the fic I'm writing for @magireco-minibang !

Mifuyu had been coming by more often lately- One of her teachers was apparently taking a vacation for the summer, and since school was out, she had extra free time to come by Mikazuki Villa.

Yachiyo was always glad to see her friend, of course- they usually planned out when they'd get together at the Villa, or the candy shop, or when they were going to patrol for witches, but seeing her unannounced was always a good thing.

She'd even heard from her grandmother and a couple of the boarders that Mifuyu had been coming by sometimes even when Yachiyo was busy at her modeling job!

It was great to be able to spend so much time with her. Normally, Mifuyu was so busy. And she looked a lot happier than usual now, too.

Her knocking on the door again today wasn't surprising- as soon as she'd started knocking, Yachiyo had all but ran to answer it and greet her friend. "Mifuyu!"

"Yacchan! it's good to see you." She smiled, walking in with a polite nod. "How did your shoot go yesterday?"

"It went well- my manager said that the magazine will probably ask for another shoot with me soon."

"That's really nice! Is your grandma here today?"

"Yep! she's doing some cleaning upstairs right now, but she should be down soon."

They continued to chat as they walked over to the kitchen, Yachiyo opening the cabinet to get out some mugs for juice. She got out her own blue mug, but paused upon reaching for a guest mug to give to Mifuyu.

Her friend spent so much time here, and all of the residents in the house enjoyed her company. Surely, she shouldn't still be using a guest mug, right?

"Hey Mifuyu?"

"Hm?" she responded with a tilt of her head. "What is it, Yacchan?"

"How about we get a mug for you today?"

Hey, I thought I’d post this here since it was never uploaded to my channel before. Here’s the Summer with Mikazuki Villa event, with Goingon shenanigans, Yachiyo believing in the power of Mayonnaise, and other fun goofy things!

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Vi Vi who edited the video together. I did all the recording, but she’s the one who put them in order and made it one video. I’m extremely thankful for that because I really struggle with this sort of thing.

okay so i was on the puella magi wiki because i was joking with a friend about who should have gotten all the magical power at the end of arc 1 to kill walpurgis and i read on of the apartment trio's wish and I AM SO INTRIGUED WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THEM. is there like an order to their side stories/events? since you are the expert on this matter i hope you can help

Yes! And you came to the right person for! There's gonna be a quite a bit of things to go through so I'll try my best to summarize it

Their introduction event is called "Bye Bye! See you tomorrow!" It's really good and I highly recommend you to read it! So this is the first one you should start out with

The most basic summary of it is Seika making a contract with Kyubey so she could revive Leila from event that ended up killing her and preventing that very thing from happening. Once she did, she kinda became more distanced from her two friends and Leila and Mito noticed immediately on that. Fearing on their friendship falling apart, Leila made a wish so it'll remain the same between them and Mito later wished so she could connect people's hearts...aka Leila and Seika. There's a lingering mystery on what happened to one of the residents of apartment complex they lived in. Also the reason why Seika did that is because she did not want Leila and Mito to know she was a magical girl

This event also tackled the very real issue of Seika's social anxiety and how she was treated by because of a huge misunderstanding. The same with Mito and her being bullied because she was "weird" according to her classmates. Leila's stuggles of being taken advantaged off and not fully standing up for herself.

Seika, Leila, and Mito's side story all connected with each other. Leila's and Mito's deals with looking for a gift for Seika's birthday and Seika's deals with her finding Ayaka out of nowhere. She becomes inspired by her and Ayaka noticed that she comes to her performances often and tried to talk to her, but she ran away. Only to bump into her again once she detected a witch and only then...She asked Ayaka to become her mentor

The next part I recommend you seeing is "The Flowers' Lament', it goes into more details on the mystery of the pervious events, but Konoha, Hazuki, and Ayame are the stars of this event. So I do recommend reading their other event first "And So, the Azaleas Blooms" so you can get this. It also connects the apartment trio and the Azaleas trio together with the other girls (Nanaka's Team)

Also..."Let's see what you're maid of" and "Summer with Mikazuki Villas " are fun reads that has them too ,but the apartment trio aren't the main characters in this ,but it does give a bit more information on theirs personalities

1. Which character from the Mikazuki Villa is your favorite?

I love them all! But if I had to pick, it has to be Yachiyo. I love her whole ‘‘jaded at first, now fussy model mom” character. This PAPA comic pretty much sums up why I love her character:

3. What event in the game was your favorite? (Could be due to writing, fond memories, the character who was released, ect).

It’s got to be... a bunch of ‘em? Okay fine: maybe The Chocolatier in Mirror World event, I love the idea of alternate universe versions of existsing characters help the characters grow. Also Mami was a complete badass in it.

I also love My Diary With You, Voices From Beyond (especially the rerun new scenes), Summer Treasures, and others I’m definitely forgetting.

7. What character(s) do you think deserve more love and attention from the writers?  Pretty sure I mentioned this before: but Kanoko and Konomi deserve some major roles! Kanoko does show up a lot and has been straying from her one dimensional, ‘bad at fashion’ character lately. Konomi has been rocking all the minor roles she’s been getting, with her winter clothes being actually REALLY pretty.

But both deserve more, they have been steered better in Arc 2, so we need an event where we see these changes in the spotlight.

20. Was there a moment in the writing (for main story, another story, magical girl side stories, any of the events, ect) that hit you unexpectedly hard?

It has to be this scene from the last layer in the mirrors’ story, Layer 36 ‘‘Destruction & Eternity”. Mitama, after getting saved from a Mirror Witch Familiar that grow into a copy of its master, acts like her usual easy going self. But when Yachiyo is about to step out, Mitama hesitates and starts talking about a theory she has about the girl who became the Mirror Witch.

This scene, with the Mirrors’ music playing, is like we finally get to see SOMETHING behind the mirrors. The analogy she uses and delivery is so fitting that it’s somewhat spine chilling. It also gives a huge perspective onto the meaning of the Mirror copies the Familiars make. It’s also has some weight relevant to Mitama’s character. Mitama usually keeps all that she knows to herself, only letting a few hints slip out occasionally. But this time? She’s spilling her purse out without being questioned. This is something she needs to get out, probably something she hasn’t told even Kanagi from how significant the end of the story implies her connection to the Mirror Witch seems to be. Also, this is one those FEW times where magical girls discuss the previous identity of a witch, it’s like breaking this detaching perspective that helps them slay witches without feeling guilt (since knowing her past would only make it more complicated for them to kill the witch).

-Sakurako is oddly listed in the middle of the 3000s, despite being both a limited-time Fate Weave character and fairly important to Arc 1, and had the name "Kanon Aira" in her Live2D parameters between her debut in Chapter 8 and the Live2D update in 2021. This is likely because her design was repurposed from a scrapped character(!)-- according to her artist commentary in Magia Archive vol.2, her original design concept was "a former A.I. that became human", with the power icon on her neck explicitly being her Soul Gem. → (Interestingly enough, her seasonal unit is likewise listed as “Kanon Aira”, and hasn’t been updated yet. I imagine it was just a holdover for internal consistency’s sake, in that case?)

-Even back when she only existed on the North American server, Ashley's Live2D parameters similarly identified her as "Ashley Moran" in Japanese text. Combined with her position in the middle of the 3000s, this suggests that she was drawn up at the same stage in development as everyone else before eventually being assigned as the NA exclusive.

If the amount of characters in a group exceeds 9, as is the case with Isabeau, those additional characters go in 41xx under the same third digit.

-The Oriko trio are the only 4000-series characters who are always available in the Premium Fate Weave. Based on this, Oriko’s Doppel Challenge, and their lack of presence outside each of their personal stories, some speculate that they were planned to have a larger role in Arc 1′s storyline before being cut.

-With the exceptions of Teresa, Candy and Shitori Egumo, "main storyline" bosses are listed in order of appearance at 60xx, while "miscellaneous" ones are listed at 61xx. The first list goes straight from Arc 1's Rumors to Arc 2's Feelings, with no gap in between. The second list also includes witches who first appeared in the anime.

-Teresa and Candy's positions are most likely mid-development holdovers. According to Inu Curry, Teresa was originally meant for the prologue before being replaced with Patricia. Pre-release material (see sister post) indicates that Candy was originally the witch chased by Iroha and Yachiyo in Chapter 1, before being swapped out with Zenobia.

-I guess Shitori Egumo gets a special position at the start of the 6100s because she's a final boss?

-The empty slots surrounding 10^-43 correspond to different variants of her minions in the 72xx section.

-The 6300s and 7300s don't have anything currently assigned to them.

[Voice lines]

Every playable character has Doppel summoning lines, Awakening lines from 3 to 5 stars, and so on, regardless of how high or low their initial rarity is. Since at least a few characters’ rarities were up in the air during development (eg. Himika), it makes sense that they’d record enough voice lines for every possibility in advance.

Additionally, here’s a couple things I found particularly interesting: -Each character has one more login line after their Max AP and BP lines. Much like how Max AP lines generally mention a witch nearby and Max BP mentions Endless Mirrors, this third line tends to mention a large conflict between nearby Magical Girls. While I haven’t checked the most recent characters and costumes, these lines were still included for every character well into the endgame of Arc 2, so the game element they were recorded for was probably still being considered at that point. (Some kind of PvP raid?)

-Each character has one more unused Awakening line after their 5-star one, plus an extra victory line/MGS menu line that would presumably be unlocked alongside it. I wasn’t sure what this was at first-- like, maybe it could also be for maxing out the skill tree?-- but as it turns out (thanks to firankamipinska for telling me about this!!), it’s explicitly a 6-star Awakening line. As in, MagiRepo Iroha-chan and Rena-chan’s lines literally say “omg I’m a 6-star now! :U” in just as many words. → ...If that ever happens, I’m going to have to revise all my spreadsheets... ( ；∀； )

(Also, I haven’t checked every voice line from every character, so if there’s any other stuff I missed, feel free to let me know!)

Candy - From Arc 2's website (now replaced). A color version was repurposed as a "generic unknown witch" stand-in during Iroha's text conversation with Ai in Chapter 5. Honestly I’d have to go with Summer with Mikazuki Villa for being absolutely hilarious with some great character moments. Alina is Coming to Town gets a close second for the same reason.

Magia Rapport: day II

August 24, 2020: What was your favorite event, and why? Is it because of gameplay or the story?

This won’t be a particular surprise for anyone who’s seen the 4 pages of sketches I posted for this event, but I really like Summer With Mikazuki Villa.

It’s definitely for the story. I love all of the found family moments, and even just the premise of them all taking a summer vacation together. The hyjinks were all so fun, and I never really knew what was going to happen next. Was it going to turn into another ghost story like the last one? Who was going to show up next? How was this going to turn out?

The low-stakes nature of the world event definitely helped this; there’s no need to worry about if someone would get seriously hurt, but it is up in the air if, say, Felicia would win this contest or not.

My favorite part about this event by far however, is how it builds to the true ending. Throughout the story you have to dodge “bad endings” in order to get the best possible outcome, but some of these bad endings have “secrets” hidden after them, which after unlocking all of them gives you the true ending where they celebrate Iroha’s birthday party.

I really like this, because it shows that maybe yachiyo lost that contest, or maybe sana got roped into practicing a comedy routine for a few hours, and maybe Iroha stared at tsuruno for an hour looking for her que, but that everything still worked out. They were able to make the best of it, and through that created new, fun experiences!

The Treasure’s Right Here

Obtainability: Limited to the “Summer with Mikazuki Villa” event.

Notes: This is event memoria and should be kept in the case of the event being rerun.

Effect: Reduce Damage [30%] (Self for one turn)

TLDR: This memoria is decent and can help protect your units until you have access to better options.

Thoughts: This memoria is outclassed by other memoria, including unlimited 3* memoria. The memoria “Splash Party” (link to be added) will offer a better Damage Cut and Damage Up while having a shorter cooldown.

If you were able to grab the limited “The Goddess Watches Quietly” from Hereafter, then it could be more useful-- it has worse base stats, but offers higher Reduce Damage, has HP Regen, and has a lower cooldown.

The unlimited 4* “For the Ones I Love” offers slightly less Reduce Damage, but has a lower cooldown while also lasting for three turns, and will regenerate HP as well.

For mirrors, this memoria is not very useful due to having a cooldown at 8 turns, which is too long for a mirrors battle. If you are looking for a better defensive cooldown for mirrors, “Non-Stop Training” has good stats and will give a good boost to your unit’s defense.
