Crystal Springs FACT of the Day: Winter and Summer take vacations together in their off seasons.

Note
Hey 👋
I'm here with a random ask of the week 🌷
If dennor were on a vacation together, where would they go? Would they take someone with them? Like Iceland, bc you know, it's their kid-
Okay, it depends a little on how much time they have off and the season – so have waaaaay too many headcanons about this!
If they only have a few days off, like one or two, they drive or take the train, either to someplace fun in their own countries, Sweden, or Germany. Denmark really loves amusement parks, if they have a day off during a World Meeting, he will go to the nearest amusement park. His favourite amusement park is also the world's oldest – Bakken in Kalundborg, Denmark, but he loves all the ones in Denmark, of course. His favourite rollercoaster ride is really embarrassing though. It's this one called Wildfire, and it's been named the best in Europe and thirdbest in the world in 2018 – BUT IT'S IN KOLMÅRDEN, SWEDEN (I've tried it though, it really is great). If Norway gets to pick, they usually go out into nature, either hiking in the mountains, fishing, visit the beaches or forests, go kayaking, etc. That is, unless it's winter – then it's skiing every single time. Norway is great at skiing, obviously, especially cross-country skiing. They're very unlikely to visit any historical sites, since they already lived through it, and for these shorter trips, they're more likely to just be the two of them.
Now, if it's a week or more, the world IS THEIR OYSTER. So we need to divide these into seasons:
Spring: In spring, they both have a few days off for Easter, but this is family time, so usually they celebrate with a Easter Lunch together with the other Nordics and just hang out together at one of their homes all five of them. They also go visit other European countries (mostly their fellow protestants, because they think the catholics can get a little prickly around Easter – Denmark claims it's because of the whole Lent thing). If they have a bit more time off, they might also visit Iceland, The Faroe Islands, and Greenland (both should have their own representations, because their history and culture is very different from Denmark and they actually have self rule nowadays).
Summer: Now, you gotta understand. Europe has a lot of time off during summer and of course the nations would too. So there's a lot of options presenting themselves. A week in one of Denmark's many vacation houses near the beaches, going on a train trip through Europe, getting a house boat and sail the nearby seas, taking a plane to the south of Europe and becoming as red as a shrimp in 0.5 second ... The possibilities are endless. Iceland occasionally go with them, and if they're in a vacation house, they get a lot of visitors – especially Germany, Sweden and Finland (Iceland just moves in with them without asking). But they do as much as they can during summer
Autumn: In fall, there's only three options. Either, they go to South Europe or they go to either Thailand or the USA. But 7 out of 10 times, they go to Spain, and they often bring the other Nordics along. Spain is the tourist destination. If it's not mainland Spain, it's Gran Canaria or Mallorca. Spain is definitely their favourite vacation place. Spain isn't entirely sure how much he likes that they visit him year after year after year. Sure, he likes the money the tourism generates, but he's never really sure how much he should be around them and he needs vacation too! How else is he going to visit his favourite half of a nation?
Winter: Christmas and New Year's Eve are some more holidays all the nordics celebrate together, and here, they usually decide to stay near the mountains (meaning not in Denmark) – so they can go skiing! I mentioned skiing earlier, and it is an activity all Nordics enjoy – alpine, cross country, snowboard, you name it, they do it. Finland and Iceland especially like snowboarding, whereas Sweden and Norway are more likely to do cross country. Denmark really likes alpine, and is probably the weakest skier among them – which makes the others tease him endlessly, but he's still pretty good. Just wasn't born on skis like the rest of them. Norway is really good at off-piste – Sweden is too tall to do it as well as Norway, and Denmark is afraid he'll fall (and also tall), so that's one thing Norway, Finland, and Iceland does together.
As you can see, there really is a lot of different vacation types they like to do!

What is locelock?
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
loool i mean, hello! thank you so much for the ask! i really love answering questions about world building stuff so i dont mind answering stuff like this!
im guessing you meant to spell lovelock so ill answer it like that's what you meant! lovelock is basically my dream city loool but all the yanderes on my blog are in the same universe and they all reside in this lil fucked up city of mine!
a lot of the city is heavily inspired by a game i love (called degrees of lewdity that's not for minors so please don't interact if you are one) and the game inspired me to start this blog! ill write a bit more abt a description of the city but that's mostly what lovelock is lmao
Tumblr media
Lovelock is a medium-sized metropolitan city, something comparable to San Francisco or Paris. It's located along the eastern coast of the United States, nearer the north, so there are harsher winters but mellower summers. One side of the city is directly pressed against the ocean so there are docks, beaches, ports, and fishing piers.
The city relies heavily on its tourism. It becomes very bustling during the summers when people want to come to fish and visit the beaches. It also gets slightly more busy in the winters when people want to escape the sweltering hot summers of the southern American states to somewhere cooler but not too hot.
Other than tourism, a lot of the buildings around are the headquarters of companies who do business in the area. Examples would be the richest pharmaceutical company in the world, a couple of really popular record companies, etc.
Just imagine a very busy city, with big skyscrapers and various other buildings, cars everywhere, etc. Unlike most of the United States, Lovelock has a pretty good public transportation. There's a good subway system and a decent enough bus system.

I hope this isn’t weird to ask, but you live in minneapolis, right? I’m moving there in a couple months and was wondering if you had any recommendations of things to do or places to check out! I’ve already been saving some restaurants esp. vegan stuff for my roommate and I, and like libraries and whatnot, but I figured you might have good suggestions. Also I always love your art!!
thank youu! and yeah i live in minneapolis :o) i guess im putting on my little gay tourism board hat here...
my vegan food hot takes!!
restaurants: hard times cafe, rly good and cheap vegan breakfasts. modern times cafe also good & cheap, they have good veggie sandwiches & vegan pastries (no relation they just have similar names lol). theres this crusty looking chinese restaurant under a bridge on lake street called china express & their general tsos tofu will knock ur tits off. AND glam doll donuts is so good just go there
fun stuff thats free: como zoo & conservatory, minneapolis institute of art, art shanty project (festival in the winter), art car parade, quatrefoil library (gay library where all the books are gay), northside art crawl, barebones halloween pageant. we also have quite a lot of beaches and places to swim in the summer bc of all the lakes
fun stuff that costs money but Highly recommend:
the heights movie theater - cool vintage theater that mainly shows old movies. they have a guy who plays a big pipe organ before every show it absolutely whips
the bakken museum - electricity museum in a big old gothic mansion, features an extremely cool frankenstein animatronic show
can can wonderland - indoor mini golf (with alcohol!)
vegfest - vegan food festival in the fall thats pretty fun (technically costs money but you can kind of just go ape on free samples)
fun stores: midtown global market, ax man surplus, majors and quinn books, moon palace books, smitten kitten (for christians who love jesus), united noodles, time bomb vintage
AND also the best gay bars imo are the 19 bar & the blackheart (lesbian soccer bar). the saloon is the big famous one downtown but i dont like it personally
and lastly, the mall of america is our biggest tourist attraction but it's really only fun when its like mid december and youve been trapped in your house for 3 months
anyways hope some of this was helpful anon !!

Władysławowo, pomorskie, Poland
A review
I've spent whole two months in this pretty hellscape, didn't like it much
No older architecture, everything new. Very fucking sad. What I thought would be a pretty church, was a city hall/municipal building.
Non main roads and sidewalks are a joke. Overall sidewalks are a fucking joke here. Did not like the placement or the upkeep.
Most normal roads would have double sidewalks with optional bike roads, Władysławowo, on the other hand, likes being a quirky little slut. Roads here have one (1) sidewalk, on one (1) side of the road, likes changing it up multiple times on one road too. There are multiple crossroads, on one fucking road, leading to a sidewalk that cannot pick a fucking side.
Other roads, might seem like the usual for polish sidewalks, but, as we've already established, Władysławowo is not like other girls. One side sidewalk, one side bike road, same colour brick, absolutely indistinguishable aside from an occasional pretty bike drawing that's so faded it might not even be there in the first place.
I've found myself completely ignoring, and actively choosing to just walk on the grass most of the time. I was absolutely fed up with those sidewalks.
There were a lot of trash cans. Which is a must for such a touristy city. Speaking of tourism.
It's absolutely filled to the brim when it's beach season. I bet it feels like a ghost town in winter. Shit load of summer houses, newly built housing. Everything sitting unused since no one really wants to live here full time.
Absolutely devastating to see fields being thrashed and re used for new living blocks, that sit empty, right next to big chain stores that are only used by tourists driving by. I cannot imagine these being open in fucking winter, there's nothing there besides those empty apartments.
The streets are noisy, tourists are a pain in the fucking ass. No wonder no one wants to live there.
Lots of cool trash to pick up. Found a goose plushie, laying in the grass with its leg torn off.
Lots of cats. Kitties heehee. And slugs, so so many slugs. And graffiti, lots of cool tags
No tldr, no score. I lied, it wasn't a review, it was a sidewalk rant wrapped up in my other thoughts about this city. I won't be missing it. Goodnight everyone. I need sleep. This summer was absolutely draining

Dress code: Modest clothing is expected in public places, especially when visiting religious sites or government buildings. Beachwear is acceptable at beaches and pools.
Ramadan: If your visit coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, be aware of the cultural practices and the impact it may have on dining, entertainment, and dress code.
Greetings and gestures: Handshakes are common, but it’s polite to greet people of the opposite sex with a nod or a slight bow. Public displays of affection should be avoided.
Religious sites: When visiting mosques or other religious sites, dress modestly and follow the guidelines provided by the place of worship.
II. Visa Requirements :
Visa types: Check the visa requirements based on your nationality and the purpose and duration of your visit. Common types include tourist visas, transit visas, and employment visas.

Peak tourist season: Dubai experiences a surge in tourism during the winter months, particularly around December and January. Book accommodation and attractions in advance during this period.

Photography: Respect people’s privacy and avoid taking photographs of government buildings, military installations, and locals without their permission.
Respect for the UAE flag: Treat the UAE flag with respect, as any form of disrespect is considered an offense.
Respect for Ramadan: During Ramadan, avoid eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours out of respect for those who are fasting.
Emergency contacts: Save important contact numbers, including your embassy or consulate, local police, and emergency services, in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
Tumblr media

2023 / 08
Aperçu of the Week:
"I have met children who have learned to count off 45 seconds - that's how long it takes for Russian missiles to hit Kharkiv after the siren alarm."
(German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock addressing the UN General Assembly on Thursday on the annual of Russia's attack on Ukraine)
Bad News of the Week:
Since the Ukraine war, everyone knows about the Wagner Group. Consisting of mercenaries, commanded by Putin compadre Yevgeny Prigozhin. While soldiers are placed in the chain of command of their officers, at least ostensibly serving the good of their country, the same is not true of mercenaries. They are simply on a pay roll. No matter by whom. If one can apply an ethical standard to acts of war at all, it certainly does not apply to mercenaries.
Even before the Ukraine operation, the Wagner Group was active. There is evidence of their action for at least Syria, Venezuela, Libya, Mali, Mozambique, the Central African Republic, and Sudan. With horrific reports of atrocities, including against civilians, that leave one speechless even in the context of war. As I said, the lack of ethical standard....
Prigozhin's recruitment strategy is particularly perfidious. He offers prisoners their freedom if they commit to a six-month war effort. According to Die Zeit, tens of thousands of prison inmates have already accepted. We are not talking about convicted purse-snatchers here. We are talking, for example, about Alexander Tyutin, who was sentenced to 23 years in prison for a quadruple contract killing. So - to put it sarcastically - a professional. Who is now recovering from his stint on the beach in Antalya. Yes, that's in Turkey. Yes, Turkey is a NATO member. But the man was, after all, pardoned by the legal system of his home country.
This course of action shows an appalling concatenation of different institutions. From the Ministry of Justice accepting this get out of jail card, to the Ministry of Interior signing off on the deal and allowing them to leave the country, to the Ministry of Defense inserting these special forces into their strategies, and the secret service providing them with military intelligence. Of course, this is only possible with the blessing of Vladimir Putin himself. Who uses the group as a geostrategic tool to exert international influence when ideology, the ruble, or fossil energy no longer work effectively enough.
I would not have thought that even at the level of Russian rule of law, I would be surprised by a parallel world in which even those low regulations no longer apply. Which shows that Putin believes himself to be above all earthly things. It cannot be a coincidence that he compares himself with Tsar Peter the Great, of all people. He went to war not only against the Crimea and Azov, but also against Sweden in the "Great Northern War". Will history teach us nothing once more?
Good News of the Week:
Humans are pushing nature back more and more because of their numbers and lifestyles. For example, orangutans in Indonesia are losing their habitat as humanity demands more and more palm oil. And Corona would not have existed either if the Chinese did not have such an appetite for wild animals. But this development is not only happening in Asia with its mega-populations. In the Alps, too, with more and more ski resorts, hotels, excursion destinations, etc., much natural habitat has already had to give way to concrete and steel.
Fortunately, there is a growing awareness that tourism can be sustainable and that it is the unspoiled beauty of nature that attracts tourists in summer and winter. As a result, more and more landscapes are being placed under nature conservation, and awareness of this is growing. And indeed: the first measurable successes are appearing!
The symbolic animal of the Alps is the chamois. The shy climbing specialists above the mountain forests stand for untamed alpine nature like no other animal. And according to the Bavarian State Forests, the population in the Bavarian Alps is recovering: 1,654 geese were counted at about a hundred observation points in 2020. In 2021, there were already 1,873 and in 2022 even 2,060. This fits a counterpart in the very north of Germany: on the coasts of the North Sea, the number and spread of the grey seal is increasing again. Not long ago, Germany's largest predator was considered "very endangered".
Personal happy moment of the week:
Saturday evening in Miesbach, the capital of our district: many people are out and about, you can hear talking and laughing, the pubs are full, light shines onto the street from decorated shop windows. Quite normal life, which after all feels new again after the last few years. It's a good thing that our friends had made reservations at the Osteria, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get a seat. Simply a nice evening.
I couldn't care less...
...that Great Britain hardly has any access to vegetables and fruit anymore. Because the problems are home-made. Because of Brexit. It causes high customs and formality hurdles for exporting producers in the South, who thus prefer to sell in the European internal market. Domestic growers have been excluded from energy price subsidies, making it no longer profitable to operate greenhouses at home. And the cheap seasonal workers previously employed in agriculture, primarily from southeastern Europe, are no longer allowed into the country. Sorry, but you have deliberately chosen exactly this disaster.
As I write this...
...I am amazed at the unexpected return of winter. Since the beginning of the month the temperatures were clearly in the plus - up to 16 ° Celsius stood on the thermometer. Therefore, I had personally already ticked off the winter. Now I look at a snow-covered landscape and rejoice. And try not to think about the fact that Monday morning will be chaos on the roads and railways.
Post Scriptum
On the annual of Russia's attack on Ukraine, a new ice age is drawing near. On one hand, Putin changes his narrative: the West would use a Nazi puppet government in Kiev to threaten his country. Seeks military support from Belarus, Iran, China and others. Unilaterally cancels the New Start nuclear arms control program. On the other hand, NATO empowers its eastern flank: the "Budapest 9" strengthen their cooperation. Poland gets moral support from Joe Biden. Air defense systems are deployed on the Slovak border. Such a confrontation of global power blocs was last seen in the Cold War. And I thought those times were over once and for all...

The caretaker cabinet decided: Ukrainian refugees will again be accommodated in state resorts
Bulgaria will continue the program for the accommodation of Ukrainian refugees, and they will again be moved to state resorts. This was stated by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev at a briefing in the Council of Ministers.
"We have foreseen the necessary places and opportunities for this. A 15-day deadline will be given until the middle of the month for people who are accommodated in hotels to be moved to suitable resorts. Only Bulgaria and two other countries - Cyprus and Ireland provide such protection for unlimited period. On the other hand, we want to make sure that in the coming winter conditions, these citizens will be accommodated in suitable places and will not have to move to harsh climatic conditions," said the minister.
The Minister of Tourism, Ilin Dimitrov, stated that the financial resources allocated by Bulgaria are significant, even compared to the other EU member states. So far, nearly BGN 523 million have been paid, of which BGN 200 million are at the expense of the budget and about BGN 300 million - under European programs and funds, he explained.
"It is important to be aware of our options. We are not leaving anyone on the street, those in need of protection will be accommodated in government resorts and their care will continue. I want to sincerely thank the hoteliers who opened their hotels in the first wave, there were ambiguities, but they nevertheless took this risk," said Dimitrov.
The minister assured that all funds to the hoteliers will be paid, and by the end of this week all undisputed payments that the state has charged until the end of September will be entered. Within 15 days, hoteliers will be able to submit complaints, and each of them will be considered.
"There are three options in which sums may not be paid - if the person has left the hotel, but continues to be registered there, the second is when he/she has started work and has not reported within a month, and the third hypothesis is when a person is accommodated in more than one hotel".
There is also a fourth problem related to meal declarations, which, however, will be solved by software, which is why Ilin Dimitrov called on hoteliers to state the financial differences in the complaints they file.
Earlier in the day:
Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria who are accommodated in hotels are likely to be redirected to state resorts. A similar decision is expected to be taken by the office by the end of the day, according to Bulgarian media "Dnevnik". Today is the deadline for the program under which those fleeing Russia's war in Ukraine can be accommodated in hotels. Read more about it here: The Program for Ukrainian Refugees Ends Today – Protest Tomorrow in Sunny Beach
It will probably be decided that there will be a transition period of about two weeks, after which the Ukrainians will be directed to state resorts. An attempt at such a move was made at the beginning of the summer, but then volunteers, non-governmental organizations and representatives of the Ukrainian community complained about a lack of communication with the state (Kiril Petkov's government was in power back then), clarity about which exact resorts will be used and other similar problems. Subsequently, this program was extended twice, most recently by the Caretaker Cabinet.
"People are very worried again," volunteers who help the residents told "Dnevnik". They again do not have enough clarity about the state's plans, to which resorts will they be redirected, how and when exactly.
The Bulgarian Helsinki Committee (BHC) called on Friday, October 28, for the caretaker government to take a decision to avoid a humanitarian crisis. The organization also claims that there is no awareness campaign among the community, it is not known whether there will be enough places in the state resorts and where exactly they will be.
According to "Dnevnik" information, the opinion of the cabinet is to end accommodation in hotels, which was the only one of its kind in Europe. There is no word on when this will happen, but there is talk of introducing a transition period, which is likely to be around two weeks.
Bulgaria to receive additional European funds for Ukrainian refugees
Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will receive an additional total of 100 million euros for refugees from Ukraine, the European Commission announced today, as quoted by BTA.
States will have these funds to continue to care for refugees and to provide them with food, transport and temporary accommodation. It is planned that the funds will reach civil organizations and local authorities, the commission's announcement states.
The European Commission specifies that it will allocate the funds according to the results achieved, and not according to the actual costs. It adds that another 52 million euros will be provided for accommodation conditions for the refugees, for medical and psychological assistance. It is noted that Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic have already received a total of 248 million euros for the same purposes.
A spokesman for the European Commission indicated today that the EU has so far provided 3.1 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine. This amount does not include support provided bilaterally by EU countries.
In response to a question about the possibility of future peace talks, the spokesperson clarified that the EU would support anyone who could influence the achievement of peace. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin must stop the war as soon as possible.
The Commission today called on Russia to reconsider its decision and return to the deal to export Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea. According to Brussels, Moscow's actions could lead to a deepening of the food crisis. The EU and the UN are coordinating their next decisions on this issue, the spokesman said. He specified that so far 29 million tons of goods have been transported through the so-called corridors of sympathy from and to Ukraine.

Top Ten things to do in Iceland
Iceland – a country in the northern part of the globe – conjures up myriad visuals in our minds. It's a land of undecipherable volcanoes, aurora borealis, rocky mountains, stunning waterfalls, and surreal landscapes.
Iceland Tourism strives to create awareness of the numerous beautiful and magical experiences to avail of while you are in this surreal country.
There's certainly a lot to see and things to do in Iceland, from hot springs to waterfalls, volcanoes, and glaciers. Check it out:
Plunge into the Blue Lagoon.
The Blue Lagoon is one of the most well-known international geothermal spas and Iceland's most prominent tourist destination. The water from the hot springs is incredibly healthful and advantageous to the skin, with temperatures around 39 degrees Celsius. You will feel like walking into a fantasyland when you visit the Blue Lagoon area.
 Cruise along the Golden Circle
The Golden Circle is Iceland's most famous day excursion. It is one of the most popular tourist routes, featuring stunning landscapes and fascinating history. Three popular sites along the road are Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Geysir Geothermal Area.
Take a whale-watching trip.
The Icelandic coastal waters are home to several dolphin and whale species. During the summer, the coasts of Iceland become the prime feeding grounds for whales and other large marine mammals, allowing you to see these incredible creatures in their natural environment. It is your first opportunity to discover a humpback or blue whale in action.
Witness the Northern Lights.
The Northern Lights are a magnificent sight on clear winter nights in Iceland. The aurora borealis is the name given to these dancing lights.
Iceland is a fantastic site, on the southern part of the Arctic Circle for viewing the aurora borealis. Witnessing this rare cosmic event is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for space enthusiasts.
Explore Lake Mývatn
Iceland's most geologically active area Lake Mývatn is a renowned halt on Iceland's famous Ring Road. Beautiful lakes, volcanic craters, and birdlife abound in this surreal landscape. You can bathe in Mývatn Nature Baths while admiring the magnificent surroundings, ensuring a relaxing soak.
Snorkel in Silfra fissure
Silfra Fissure is the best diving spot on the planet. Silfra is the world's only spot where you can swim between two tectonic plates. Trip Advisor's 2019 Travelers' Choice Awards ranked Silfra snorkeling amongst the top ten things to do globally.
 View Incredible Geysers
Strokkur Geysir, a 50-minute drive from Reykjavik, is Iceland's most famous fountain geyser and is well-known worldwide. This active hot spring is a popular stop along the Golden Circle route.
Explore the bubbling mud pits and approximately 100 other smaller exploding geysers. Strokkur spurts water high into the air in short intervals. Year-round, the Geysir Center hosts exhibits and instructive programs.

hello admin team! i think this rp is such a fresh idea and im excited to join. 🫶🏼 do you mind elaborating more on ilsang's history? the year it was founded, any important facts about the area, is there noted scenic views such as mountains / hills / bodies of water etc? could muses have family that have lived for generations? what's the weather usually like? do you have any visuals for the town for references? thank you for your help. ✨
sure thing! i'll do my best to keep it short, as most of our lore and specifics can be found in our pages ( see timeline, locations, housing, npcs ). all of the visuals for the town can be found at locations, but again, if you need more of a feel as to what ilsang is like, i will try my best to answer this question under the cut. please let me know if you have any further questions! and thank you for your interest!

Tumblr media
HISTORY
before ilsang was an official town (pre-korean war), it follows the same history as the rest of korea!
during the korean war, ilsang (though not officially ilsang) served as a military base for many american soldiers. this was around the time the bunker was built (for safety precautions).
ilsang's official founding day is august 20, 1954 (stay tuned for our fashionably late founder's day event). although most of land had some housing/prior buildings scattered in place, this is the official date that ilsang became its own town rather than an extension of neighboring places.
because of its proximity to the ocean, ilsang's biggest export is fish.
since 1954, ilsang has advertised itself to tourists in hopes to also gain more income via tourism. due to this and its prior history, many townies are likely to be multilingual-- or at least know basic english.
with its relations to the korean war, ilsang-- although not inherently a military base itself-- still is closeby to an american military base. hence, we welcome muses of western fcs who would love to come to ilsang as either visitors or townies!
if you are applying for a tour guide position these may be important to note! also you may grab important info from our npc page!
fun fact, the moon twins are the oldest ilsang residents, as their family are the original owners of the haedodi house! so to answer your question, yes, you may have individual generational history with ilsang, though many muses with older history may remember ilsang as what it was prior! and from there they would get to watch ilsang grow to what it is today.
ENVIRONMENT
much like the rest of south korea, ilsang's biome is deciduous forest! there is a beach on the west side of ilsang, but the east side (near jeongsang park) is a more forested area. hence why much of our housing has unique characteristics and inspo! for example, residents in yeonhwa-gil are within walking distance of the ports, which is why this housing is rather run down and old (they were the original houses of ilsang due to the close proximity to the water-- used for crop irrigation).
ilsang itself isnt exactly the same distance above sea level, as you go west its about 0-10' above sea level-- to the east it matches ansan at 30'. so, although ilsang isn't exactly mountainous, the area itself isn't one flat plot of land. i would say the most 'mountainous' part of ilsang would be jeongsang park, but even then it is not that high in altitude!
major bodies of water would be the pacific ocean and the lake found deeper into jeongsang park!
summer: long, hot, humid (especially during monsoon season); winter: freezing cold, dry, snowy
fall and spring are intermediates of these!
ilsang's symbolic flower is the sunflower! there is a field of them near jeongsang park!
MISC
ilsang is not a major city, it's more of a 'everybody knows everybody' town!
pretty suburban/rural in the sense that most of the food is locally grown, but with mayor choi and his previous successors, the town grew neighborhoods like yonghaeng-ro (wealthy gated community) and deokgu-gil (think college 'town' vibe, all the housing is more updated than yeonhwa-gil, but not as modern as yonghaeng-ro).
town has not really been updated since its 1954 establishment since most of the townies enjoy the unique characteristics the original town buildings hold! most business owners think the charm of the town buildings helps bring in business.
though some residents/visitors may say otherwise! power outages are common in yeonhwa-gil due to the outdated architecture and electricity sources.
yonghaeng-ro is currently the most updated housing (thanks to mayor choi), so the amenities and housing are pretty modern and up to date.
if you would like some ideas on what exactly the feel of the town is (with the aliens included) some of the inspiration for the lore of our roleplay is Wandavision (tv show), The Twilight Zone: Season 1 Episode 22 (tv show), Nope (movie), Us (movie), Venom (marvel), Get Out (movie), Fear Street series (netflix trilogy), The Quarry (video game), The War of The Worlds (1938 radio drama/event). Some of our pre-plots also are inspired by Fright Night (1985, movie), Disturbia (movie), Scooby-Doo (tv show), IT (novel/movie). We may also have future plots which may take more inspiration from other media!
it's important to note that while this roleplay is lore heavy, most of the 'lore' will progress as the community itself progresses. there's a lot of things undiscovered about ilsang that may or may not be uncovered depending on our lovely writers and the direction they move with their muses! we wanted to create a roleplay that, while it already has its own storyline, it's fluid and is more community based.

Why Invest in Real Estate in Northern Cyprus?
Low Cost of Living and Property Prices
The cost of living in Northern Cyprus is very affordable compared to most Mediterranean destinations. Property prices are also relatively low, starting from £50,000 depending on the type of property.
This presents an opportunity to invest in real estate at a lower cost than in nearby popular areas like southern Cyprus or Turkey. The low prices, combined with the potential for prices to rise in the coming years, make real estate investment an appealing prospect.
Generous Tax Benefits
Northern Cyprus offers extremely generous tax benefits for property owners and investors. There are no inheritance, capital gains, or annual property taxes. This allows you to purchase property without worrying about ongoing costs and taxes eating into your returns or profits from a future sale.
Any rental income is also taxed at a very low flat rate of 5%, making property investment an efficient way to generate passive income.
Growth Potential
While prices are currently low, Northern Cyprus’ real estate market shows significant potential for growth over the medium to long term. The economy has been steadily growing, and tourism numbers have been rising year over year.
This increased interest and economic activity is likely to translate into higher demand and prices for property over time. Investing now allows you to benefit from future capital appreciation and a higher return on investment.
Additional Perks
As a property owner in Northern Cyprus, you also enjoy certain lifestyle perks. It is easy to obtain a residency permit, allowing you to stay in the country for extended periods.
You have access to an enviable Mediterranean climate with hot summers and short, mild winters. The natural scenery, beaches, historic sites, and vibrant culture provide an appealing backdrop for a second home or rental investment.
Overall, the affordability, tax efficiency, growth potential, and desirable lifestyle factors make a compelling case for investing in real estate in Northern Cyprus.

Consideration before investing in North Cyprus

Know the market
North Cyprus’ real estate market is still developing, so prices are often lower than in western countries. However, it is a long-term investment. Study recent sales to determine average prices for the type of property you want. Look for signs the market is strengthening, like increasing sales and development. The market around popular coastal towns may hold its value better over time.
Understand the tax laws
As a foreign buyer, you are exempt from capital gains taxes in North Cyprus. However, rental income and profits from selling the property are subject to income tax. Transferring the title to your name also incurs a one-time registration fee and stamp duty. Consult an accountant to determine your potential tax liability from any rental or sale proceeds.

View North Cyprus real estate as a long-term investment, not a source of quick returns. The market has significant growth potential if the political situation stabilizes, but it may take time.
Investing in North Cyprus real estate does come with risks, but with the right guidance and long-term outlook, it could pay off handsomely. The key is going in with realistic expectations about the market and tax implications. Do your research, get professional advice, and make sure any property you buy is one you can afford to hold onto for years to come.
