A long (spoilers included) review of Dunki.

Because I think I should just write it all out.

Starts with classic Hirani flavour. A main character on a wheelchair plotting an escape. And they succeed. Mannu runs away to meet her lawyer to ask about her visa condition. The answer is negative but she's desperate to be back home now. So comes the names of Hardy, a guy who she hasn't met in 25 years now.

Cue Hardayal Singh Dhillon, in all his greys and old age cramps running a race and also winning it but well a call from Mannu, who cares about a damn race. He answers no I'm not coming to get you and she smiles saying 'kand' ho gaya hai. And how can the 'Banda' refuse.

This was the introduction of a tale so simple, yet so real. Why do people leave their homes? The homes even with the poverty still has the warmth and love. But what could be more glaring than poverty for unemployed youth. Sometimes it's heartbreaking love, a love so powerful that people decide to end themselves instead of trying to survive through. That's Sukhi and Jassi's subplot, which only propels Hardy to decide on the donkey route, a decision that'll change all their lives forever.

And so starts the dunki, shown very aesthetically if I might say the horrors and the dangers. But you know your leads survive so you hold on. They wade underwater, scared and tired. They hide in freezers, cold. They walk through the desert among skeletons and evilness. Mannu has a cathartic experience here. And you wonder what exactly is the point of going through all this trouble without any guarantee. But they manage to reach their destination.

And now awaits another horror. Immigrants are looked down upon. They aren't humans in the eye of the citizens and don't get the dignity to live like humans either. Toiling through odd jobs, sending fake pictures to assure their families and to give them a better life is their only cause now. But Hardy doesn't have any of that. He's there for Mannu, so he starts the point of going back. But necessity is larger than lives for some people.

So they get caught and the rest seek asylum but Hardy can't lie, won't lie that it was his country that's unsafe for him. So he's sent back.

Fascinatingly dark that deported people get to travel safely back to the places they tried so hard to escape. It's along the same line as punishing people attempting suicide. This helps no-one.

Anyway 25 years pass offscreen. We get to know in passing that the families back home are doing well enough but our 3 asylum seekers are not getting the visa to return home. But trust Hardy, he can do it.

And Hardy does, with a bit of cunning and so much old man charm, the old man does it for his Mannu. But Mannu is dying. And ah well. What beats a tragic love story.

What beats a movie with so much heart and love and pain underlying the humour and constant laughter.

You just end up sitting a bit longer in the theatre and hoping to gather your thoughts because there's so much and yet there's this numbness. Is it because you saw the best movie, maybe. There's no best movie as per me honestly. Is it because this topic is way too real but so far from your reality that it shocks you a bit more. Is it because you love the man frontlining these moving images and you can see no fault.

Honestly I don't even want to conclude. If I could I would like to hug Sukhi right after the phone call, and Hardy after the court and at the terrace. But I'm guessing Hardy will be fine. Wo sambhal lega apne ko. Mannu I hope you had happy moments, even if they were the bare minimum.

Mandalorian x Reader

Request: Reader is a fellow bounty hunter but is also a sweetheart and a dear, old friend. Mando asks them to tag along because taking care of this kid AND keeping people off his back has been tough. Whenever Mando asks the Reader for something, they say, "As you wish." It takes Mando a while to realize what they're really saying is, "I love you." Thank you so much!!

A/N: this was such a joy to write. I'm so in love with his character, and the child that comes with it, haha. I may have deviated from the request a bit, I hope you still like it!

That smile, he would do anything for that smile.

"We don't have anymore to drink or to eat," He spoke over his shoulder to you, mindlessly fiddling with the control panels. "Would you go out and find us something?"

"As you wish."

As you wish.

The first time you said it, you were on the brink of death. Stuck in a cramped alleyway, bodies pressed uncomfortably together. Your eyes were going wild, looking around for any possible escapes.

"How the fuck are you calm, Lorian." You whispered with intense frustration.

"Cover me. I'm going right." He scanned over your face, watching the fear wash away. You grabbed for his gloved hand, giving it a tight squeeze three times. "We'll get ourselves out of this."

"As you wish," you said, with a breathy tone. Staring at his helmet. You wished to see what he was thinking, if he was worried. But you knew they would be safe.

The second time, it was simple.

You was taking care of the child, who had taken a fondness to you. Constantly following you around, grabbing onto your leg, wanting to be held.

The mandalorian suppressed a smile when he was this. It was just so cute. The way you gleamed at the baby, holding its hand and rocking it back and forth. And how the child looked up at you with such happiness.

"Hey." His voice hinted at a smile. "Can you feed the child? I don't remember the last time he ate."

"As you wish." You smiled up at Mando, nodding to him as you walked past. Hand brushing together for just a moment.

Said every time he asked something of you. You would always do it with a smile and a twinkle in your eyes.

He did wonder why you said it in such a way. Whispered like a sweet melody. And why you cared for him so. How you hugged him at the end of a mission. How you glanced back as soon as you walked off, wanting one more look at the soft hearted bounty hunter. Soaking up his ruff state.

Such a hard hitting woman, with a wit like fire and a mind that could get them out of any situation. It was no wonder they had been paired up so many times.

When you came back, you had a new scar on your face, but a bag full of fresh goods for the child and them.

"Are you alright?" He muttered, failing to hide the concern riddled through his voice. He wanted to reach out and touch the red mark.

"More than fine. Just starved." Throwing a few of the bags on the floor, you left one in your hands. Holding it up to him with a smile. "Sukhi and Crab. Your favorite. It's still hot."

The two of you ate back to back, his helmet set to the side of him. Mostly sitting in silence. It was calming to just eat together. Bodies so close, yet not seeing even a sliver of each other. His metal plates pressed into your shoulders, and even still, you felt the edges comfortable.

Sometimes, each of your wished you could have just stayed like that forever. Nothing to worry about. Just having each other so close. To comfort them through anything. It was a reminder of sorts. That no matter how many times you parted ways, how many days, even months, that he didnt see your glowing face, that somehow you would end up together again.

It wasn't until you left again, embracing him, almost cradling him, with such care and love, and whispered those words so tenderly, that he realized what they truly ment.

"Hey," he called out to you, taking in deep breaths as he calculated what he really wanted to say. All the things he wanted to ask. "Stay safe out there. For...for the child."

"As you wish." You smiled. That smile that he swore would kill him one day.

"As you wish." He called back. Your smile turned into a laugh, lighting up your whole face. You tilted your head to him, giving him a knowing nod. And walked out of his life again.

But speaking in depth a well wisher always motives us in every part of life.. And you do that by your character mohan.. When I feel too low and feel why me always I'm good but I don't get good... I see mohan saying to megha just because you are good not all others are good too... After he rescued her from their boss... That motivates me that time... Nextly whenever I have suicidal thoughts.. Yeah I have some... I see mohan motivating megha of the sunrise after the dark night... I feel you are saying to me not to quit... And at times when I cry I see the scene where you suddenly pop from the door and ask megha not to cry and you console her by your actions.. Yeah I immediately stop crying when I see that... See you have your magic in all of my life... So now you are my well wisher right? Then true love... It doesn't only mean life partner... But it is the people whom we love without any need and intention... It is pure... I have no exact reason to love you hence you are my true love... And would also wish a person with more similarities. Next you are my inspiration by the life you live which all other fail.. Following your heart and doing your passion.. This may look simple but that is practically not simple as that... And needs so much of guts to take a desicions of this sort... We can be happy if we follow our heart everyone knows... But we need someone to do that set an example and lead in that way.. Firstly I started to watch nenjam pesudhey for Ashnoor because her cuteness in Jhansi rani….slowly I become fan of your bond with Ashnoor your slang your hair, nose everything…sometime I really wish to pull your nose once in my lifetime …and the highlight of your acting is, you just not acted ,you lived the character…the day is incomplete without talking about you every day.
