Korea is a hierarchical society and their language reflects that. We can see this by observing the endings -요, -(으)시,-(ㅂ)니다, etc. You may also know there are honorific particles, such as 께서 .
There are also honorific words you need to use (instead of what you may have originally learned) to up your formality game. The following words are used when speaking to parents, elders, your boss, or teachers.
format: honorific/plain = definition
Noun
댁 / 집 = house
생신 / 생일 = birthday
성함 / 이름 = name
연세 / 나이 = age
Counter
분 / 명 = people
Verb
돌아가시다 / 돌아가다 = to pass away
드리다 / 주다 = to give
드시다 / 먹다 = to eat
주무시다 / 자다 = to sleep
don’t hesitate to send in questions!;

Studyblr Introduction Post
Tumblr media
Hello everyone
My name is Audrey and as of tomorrow, I will be a sophomore in college! This academic year is going to be very important so I decided to get more involved within the studyblr community, so without further ado, here is my introduction!
Basic facts
I’m 19, almost 20, years old.
I live in the SF Bay Area in California
I go to community college
I’m a double major in Political Science & Theatre.
Sophomore year in the community college world is a interesting but important time because it’s typically the point where the transfer process to 4 year universities start.
Classes
My classes this semester add up to 16 credits and are as follows:
Comparative Politics
Physical Geography
Humanities: The Root of Hell
Environmental Science (Lecture + Lab)
American Sign Language II
Outside of School Interests
Seeing live shows! My area attracts so many touring productions and also original works so its great to be exposed to and apply that the inspiration to one of my majors.
I love watching YouTube! Some of my favorite creators are Shane Dawson, Philip Defranco, and Cody Ko!
Any and all museums are my favorite! I mostly go to Art museums because there’s a wide variety of them where I live.
Netflix!
Going to mountains or just the outdoors in general is a great escape for me!
I love traveling to San Francisco for day trips and just exploring the rich culture there.
Reading! I haven’t been able to do a lot of reading for pleasure as much as I would like to since college has started, but I’m hoping to change that.
Pinterest & Tumblr
Traveling to new or familiar places to get away from every day life.
Goals of my Studyblr
I want to use my studyblr to hold myself accountable. I also want to use it to document my progress and use it to inspire people, because I’m everyday amazed by the capabilities and accomplishments of blogs I follow within the community everyday, and just want to be even a fraction as awesome as they are. I also love some of the ideas for studying, notes, etc, that I get from here and hope to post my own content sometime soon. Also, I don’t see a lot of community college studyblrs and hope to be vocal about my experience and show others how it is and isn’t different from a 4 year university. Also, there aren’t many transfer stories on here so I hope to document some of the first!
Favorite Studyblrs ( just to name a few)

~ If we have anything in common, or just want to chat, my inbox is always open! I hope to make some pals and connections on here soon!
Xo, Audrey.
