So in conclusion:

Probably a concussion, wound to the jaw on the right side, wound on the lower lip, wound over the left eybrow, wound on the left cheek, bruising around the left eye, his back probably looks like a mess as would a lot of his body, wounds on the hands and on the right wrist.

Now for my opinion on the ending: obviously my pictures and the website I used are a shitty quality, so I could be mistaken, but if you compare Jongwoo at the start of the 10th episode (after his first fight with Moonjo)/Jongwoo during and after his second fight with Moonjo where he kills him/Jongwoo in the alternate reality, there is (1) or maybe (2) differences.

The first one is the jaw wound. First appears after the fight with teenagers, and then becomes more serious after the first fight with Moonjo. Then disappears through the second fight, after the initial moment where Jongwoo says he'll kill Moonjo, and reappears in the ambulance scene. In the alternate version of the final fight, whether it is the version where Jongwoo is having the internal crisis by himself or with Moonjo, Jongwoo has the jaw wound.

So this -in my opinion- establishes the continuity with episode 7-episode 9-first fight scene with moonjo-jongwoo having a crisis while moonjo is like 'congrats on your first murders!'-ambulance scene-hospital.

Now the 2nd difference is more vague because the quality of images is really shitty and the way the show is lit makes it difficult to see, but it's based on the bandage on Jongwoo's hand. In episode 9, the bandage is very easy to see. In the first fight with Moonjo, Jongwoo's hands don't really show so it's not easy to say whether it is here. In the fake fight, it might appear -I think I maybe saw it once-. In the murder scene, it is visible. In the discussion with Moonjo, it is very visible. In the version where Jongwoo is having his crisis by himself, there doesn't seem to be a bandage on his hand.

So I think that the way the show goes is really that Jongwoo fights some kids, get the first three injuries (cheek + fingers + jaw), beats up his colleague, has a bandaid on his wounded hand, gets into the first fight with Moonjo where he gets thrown around, gets the bruises on the area around the eye + the bleeding wound on the jaw + the wound on the wrist, then goes on his murderous rampage, and then meets Moonjo again and has his little conversation, with in total wounds/bruises to the jaw/mouth/around the eye/wrist/hand, and then he goes into the ambulance with all those wounds.

Idk if any of this made sense but now I have my list of total injuries that Jongwoo got, so 👍.

But!!! While I wouldn’t put it past the duffies to mess up and accidentally spoil that Steve is dead, it would be an absolutely huge ass spoiler if he was. So I am thinking he’s not dead but maybe injured or something? Idk I just think if he was dead or dying here you’d think the duffers wouldn’t want to spoil that. But what do I know?

ACTUAL REIJI MOMENT OH MY GOD

I can't even tell what it's supposed to BE. I figure it's probably related to 8 given the ∞ = 8 motif in the first teaser and the fact 8 is also supposed to have a new location and come out early 2024 (per Nakaya, unless there are delays). But if it is 8, this is just such a baffling choice as the reveal trailer for the next entry in the MAIN series after the intrigue set up by the teaser. Well, if nothing else, this trailer sure was... revealing...

There is the apparent Microsoft exclusivity, of course, but I don't quite know what to make of it, since Xbox promotional material for RGG historically never mentions competing platforms like PlayStation anyway even if they're available on all platforms.

The tagline does scream sidegame though right like it sounds like a casual business sim or something.. and Yokoyama mentioned 8 wouldn't have a tagline in Japan on purpose... but this is the English trailer, and there's no JP buzz around the release at all so far that I've seen (granted, the trailer dropped at like, 3 a.m. JST)... EXTREMELY odd. Extremely odd. I guess we'll see pretty soon though!

Ranting and Raving aside, I can't help find the premise of taking the series to America funny. I mean. I was HOWLING at the trailer itself but taking a step back for a second. Because RGGS has always been open to taking the series overseas, but it's always been like, France or somewhere else in Europe; they've explicitly said they wouldn't be taking it to America. And Yet.

Also just doubly funny to me to see Ichi in America looking so confused because earlier, I was thinking about Masato's time in America and your idea of Jo accompanying him, and how I can see Jo being that Completely Lost parent who doesn't speak English and has to rely on their kid's fluency to get around. And pretty much right before the trailer dropped I was talking about how It Would Be Funny if Mine got a scholarship overseas and he went to uni with Masato unwittingly, since they're about the same age... manifested...

i can't help imagining the scenes after eddie's death....like dustin had to leave him, but he definitely didn't go willingly. the three that went to kill vecna had to pull him away while dealing with their own grief to try and just get dustin out of there because vecna was still alive. steve had to physically drag dustin away, silently wishing eddie decided to not be a hero, like he had said. steve had to pull dustin away while nancy and robin just stood in shock, not knowing what to fully do, staring in horror. and dustin refuses to leave him, in dragging him a little bit before steve has to pull him off.....yeah i'm not okay

okay so, from what we’ve seen from vol2 trailer so far, it kinda looks like the fruity four plus the kids are driving somewhere in the Munsons' trailer could also be Eddie’s van though, doesn’t look large enough to be a trailer so i can be wrong but the point still stands and it got me wondering whether it’d affect the gate to the Upside Down in any way and, if yes, how. theoretically it’d be neat if there was an option to drive to any destination (which in this case appears to be the Creels’ house, with Steve, Robin, and Nancy going there in the Upside Down while Max, Lucas, and Erica reach it in, well, the Upside Up, as Eddie and Dustin guard the gate??) and be able to enter the Upside Down exactly where needed except now that the entire realm is stuck in 1983, the trailer would most likely just remain where it is over there. well, unless two people would drive it in the same place (or not necessarily the same) in the both realms. doesn’t seem to be the case here but an intriguing possibility on its own, at least looks like it for me

also curious whether it’d be feasible to use walkietalkies between dimensions (or even within just Upside Down) without El’s powers but well ti already got too rambly on here
