continution of stormlight au 14, where kaladin keeps it together just a little longer:
Adolin: Storms! So both you and bridgeboy have been radiants—
Kaladin: surgebinders.
Adolin: surgebinders, this whole time? Unbelievable! Anyone else here secretly a surgebinder?
Renarin:
Shallan: I— your cousin. Jasnah. She didn't have a soulcaster. She was one.
Kaladin: Wait. I thought you said she died.
Shallan: Radiants can be killed! She had a sword through her chest!
Kaladin: I mean...I haven't tested that out specifically. But I've been shot a lot. And I was basically flayed alive. Teft nursed me back to life with a few diamond chips.
Adolin: Hah! The assassin did get you with a shardblade, didn't he? And you healed from it!
Navani: I knew it. She's impossible to kill.
Shallan: I— but I sank the boat. Oh stormfather...
Kaladin: I can also survive without breathing a while. 20 minutes easily. haven't timed my limits.
Adolin:
Shallan:
Shallan: I — wait, did you say you were flayed alive? What? Why?
Kaladin: It's — it's how the whole stormblessed title happened. Got strung up in a highstorm.
Adolin: Huh. At this point I was wondering if you got the title talking to the stormfather himself, ha!
Kaladin:
Adolin: ....Bridgeboy?
Kaladin: It. I mean during highstorms sometimes...
Adolin: I swear if you say you thought it was a hallucination I'm throwing you as far as I can. And I'm wearing plate right now.
Kaladin: It— it can't have been real.
Adolin: I'll do it bridgeboy. I know you can take it.
Kaladin: Fine. Anyway. That's how I got the stormblessed name. Sadeas ordered me outside, left upside down in a highstorm. Not fun, but I lived.
Shallan: So... she really could be alive...
Adolin: My captain of the guard, my bethrothed, and my cousin! Ha! Renarin, you'd tell me if you were a radiant — I mean a surgebinder, right?
Renarin:
Adolin: Renarin?
Renarin:
Adolin: Renarin...I...but why wouldn't you tell me?
Renarin (crying): I thought I was going mad. I was seeing things, I could hear screaming from my shardblade...
Kaladin: I hear that too!
Shallan: There's...something wrong with most shardblades.
Renarin: I thought it was...
Adolin (gripping Renarin's shoulder): Brother.
Adolin: I don't think hallucinations are real.

Bored at work, have a AU
Stormlight Musician AU
* Kaladin is front man for a symphonic metal band (think nightwish or within temptation)
* Kaladin can fucking SING. Hes a good musician with keybord and knows his way around rhythm guitar, but holy shit the power, the emotion, the raw feeling that he puts into his music. The control he has over his instrument is insane.
* Kaladin practices on a tredmill sometimes. It helps with breath control.
*Shallan is an amazing pianists. She can play most instruments at least a little bit, but piano is where she started and always where she comes back.
* Shallan has perfict pitch.
* Adolin is an amazing guitarist. Clasical, electric, rhythm, lead, anything you want. This man can play the guitar.
* Adolin's favorite genera to play is Jazz. He likes to freestyle
* No conflict, just imagining my fav's as musicians. Will probably add more to this later.

stormlight college au Adolin is a frat boy and Shallan is in a she's the man situation. Kaladin is the only one to see through shallan's lies but no one actually believes him. they all think he's delusional when he goes SHES NOT A DUDE. Shallan hates him for it but he's about to lose his mind not being believed. Rock thinks Shallan is a distant cousin.

“The Song of Stormlight” by OneWingedSparrow
Inspired by this wonderful art by @louwhose!
Fic Summary: Left outside in the rain during a Weeping, bridgeman Link introduces his fellow slave Sheik to a secret about spheres.
P.S. You don’t really need to know anything about The Stormlight Archive to enjoy this fic, but I highly recommend reading the books because they are very good ;) Main Tags:  Ocarina of Time AU, Stormlight Archive Setting, Zelink, Sheik / Link, Fluff without Plot, Bridgeman!Link, Darkeyes!Link, Darkeyes!Sheik, Music, Song of Storms
Read on AO3 Written for the @zelinkcommunity Opposites Attract event! Week 4: Hidden / Revealed. Reblogs are appreciated!
~ “The spheres are singing,” Link said softly. Leaning against the bars of the cage, Sheik tilted her head. “What do you mean?” Link’s ears twitched slightly, one at a time, gradually angling in different directions like a chull’s antennae. “Can’t you hear them?” Sheik closed her eyes too and focused, but the rushing wind drowned out everything else. “It’s too loud.” “May I?” Sheik opened her eyes to find Link staring questioningly at her. She raised an eyebrow, unsure of what he requested, but somehow trusting him regardless. “I suppose?” Slowly, Link scooted closer, his hands reaching out for either side of her head. Sheik couldn’t help but tense a little as his face neared hers. Storms. His dark brown eyes were rich and warm in shade, but somehow sharp and fierce too; both welcoming and dangerous, alluring and terrible all at once. Like a barbed spear with an elaborately gilded shaft, or a beautiful Shardblade with a bloodthirsty, serrated edge. Why...why was it that darker eyes were considered inferior, again?
His hands found her ears, and gently, hesitantly, pulled the mask away from them. Not enough to unveil her face—which was fortuitous, because Sheik could feel an embarrassingly strong blush raging on her cheeks.
Thankfully, he let go quickly, and backed away into his corner of the cage. “That oughta help,” Link said, absentmindedly looking out through the bars. “You can...you can try again now, if you want.” Sheik nodded, even though he wasn’t looking her way.
The slave driver’s bag of spheres sat on the ground a few yards away, faintly aglow from within. The splintered floor of the cage scratched against her ragged clothing as she moved closer to press her nose against the cold metal bars. Torrential rain wept down her face, but drenched as she already was, Sheik ignored it. Breathing carefully, Sheik tried once again to listen.
Splashing. Pattering. Puddles bouncing. Ripping, roaring, rushing. Her nose began to run, not unlike the steady stream thundering off the roof. A standard symphony for a Weeping. She still couldn’t hear anything new.
Until Link started singing.
Back and forth, up and down, never ending turnaround.
Bid me once to stay, else I fall away….
Colors flashed before Sheik’s eyes.
Blue. White. Purple. Green. Each glowing boldly. No distinct form, no identifiable shape. The colors took a rhythm of their own, and danced around Sheik’s vision, like some sort of musical spren. She knew not where they came from. They were gone in an instant.
But the spheres on the ground...they followed that rhythm, and pulsed to the same beat. And as Sheik stared, wide eyed and awestruck, a faint voice seemed to emerge from within them, drawn out by Link’s calling.
Seek the shore!
Dare not drown!
New beginnings can be found….
“Rid of all farewells and pain,” Sheik murmured along with their voices.
Her heart jolted. Where had the words come from? How did she know? She frantically glanced over at Link for an explanation, but instead of a sagely expression, Link possessed the biggest, brightest grin she’d ever seen on a living bridgeman.
“I thought you could hear them,” Link said with satisfaction. “What with you being musical and all that.”
Fingers shaking, Sheik pulled the mask back over her ears.
How much...did he know about her, anyway?

HI. STORMLIGHT AU YOU SAY. SO IS LINK A WINDRUNNER? FABRIAL TECHNICIAN ZELDA? CAN I GET ALL OF THE DETAILS PLEASE I AM OBSESSED
Alright, Dawn<3! I'll give you all the details I have but I literally started thinking of this this morning so I don't have that many.
First of all, you absolutely nailed what I was thinking they would be. Because let's be honest, Link is 1000% a windrunner. I mean, hello, I can totally see him saying "Honor is Dead. But I'll see what I can do."
And Zelda I can TOTALLY see being like Navani, being in a high position all her life but totally fascinated with science and fabrials, except that I see her being a bit more hands-on about it. But also spunky and snarky and stuff too?
Back to Link, his spren is Fi (which my only issue about it is that Fi feels more like a Cryptic spren than a windspren in personality but shh). He's a darkeyes, but somehow got caught one of the times he had his shardblade was out and was roped into being a bodyguard for Zelda, who's probably like the daughter of a High Prince or something. She doesn't like him at first and probably has a nickname for him (like bridgeboy, but not that because I can't see Link with bridge four the way Kaladin is) that later becomes affectionate as she comes to appreciate him.
Um, that's all for now but the brainrot is real so more will probably be added and I would love to bounce around ideas with anyone who is willing!

This are from the beginning of last year, but are still more beach AU ideas in my mind... ID below the cut:
Image description: The first image shows an evening scene wire a dark sky in the background. Lirin and Dalianar sit to the left at a bar. A warm glow surrounding their figures as they talk. A bit to their right stand Adolin and Kaladin side-eyeing them and uncomfortably sipping at bottles (of beer? probably?). A bit further back is Shallan gesturing towards them and to the ongoing fireworks in the background. Next to her Renarin and Rlain are walking in the direction of the crowds watching the fireworks. Rlains hand is placed on Renarin's back and he is laughing. To the very right of the picture is a smaller figure floating in the air, while a man with think black curly hair is casually holding its leg. A string of colourful string light is decorating the canpoy of the bar and a palm tree in the background. The three consecutive images are crops of the first one, showing Lirin and Dalinar talking, Kaladin and Adolin listening and Renarin and Rlain walking next to each other.

Continued from this au, where Kaladin gets strung up for a highstorm instead of thrown in prison during Words of Radiance, inspired by @gnecrognomicon
"The King ordered-"
Adolin rolled his eyes. "I am the King's cousin, you seriously believe I would go against his word and cut this man free? In front of a crowd of witnesses?" His tone somehow grew even haughtier the longer he talked.
"Now step back, I said l will speak with him alone."
The guards reluctantly moved away, and the prince stepped close enough that Kaladin could hear his low whisper.
"Say the word and I'll cut you free."
Kaladin blinked, looking at Adolin. He saw only open sincerity.
"...You're serious," Kaladin said.
"Sureblood is a minute's gallop away. I know you're not comfortable on horses, but a Rhysadium is different, he would never throw someone against my wishes. His saddlebags are already packed with a month's supply of food, not to mention enough bromes to hire passage on any ship in any port."
"Ship?" Kaladin asked, bewildered, but the princeling just kept going.
"We can make it to a stable in the outercamps before the stormwall hits. The moment the riddens start, we'll be gone - most won't be able to get their mounts out as early as us."
"Us?"
"Of course, they won't dare to shoot if I'm in the saddle, and anyway Sureblood wouldn't ride without me. I'll return once I see you safe to a port, there will be a punishment but -"
"Brightlord-" Kaladin said quietly. He was sure his expression was doing something strange. Hopefully the guards wouldn't read too much into it.
"Oh! A copy of your writ of freedom is also in the saddlebags - and your Horneater cook packed the meals! And when I say I packed enough bromes to hire a ship, I meant emeralds. You could buy a ship. You'd never have to work a day in your life, if you didn't want."
"Princeling, this is very -"
"Renarin will look after your men until I return, he won't let Elhokar or any of the Highprinces touch them, I swear. I wasn't able to get a spanreed, not without Aunt Navani noticing, but you should be able to hire one easily enough- I'll support your men in leaving the camps, it -"
"Adolin."
The prince finally stopped.
Kaladin took a deep breath, willing himself not to pull in stormlight to help with his throbbing headache. "I appreciate your willingness, I really do."
And he did, to his surprise. He was oddly touched by how much thought the brightlord had clearly put into the escape attempt. This wasn't a spur of the moment idea. Not to mention, there would no gain in it for Adolin, and quite a lot of risk.
"We can do it," Adolin said desperately. "Ten heartbeats and you'll be free. I can even get the soulcast manacle off completely, once we stop and rest, weaken it with -"
Kaladin laughed, the sound shocking Adolin into quiet again, the sound shocking even himself.
"I'll be alright, princeling." He smiled slightly, despite himself. "But thank you. Sorry to waste all your planning."
Adolin narrowed his eyes. "You swear it? This isn't a dramatic suicide attempt, after your earlier, equally dramatic ones failed?"
"I already decided against that, ages ago."
For some reason, the prince didn't seem comforted. The lines around his eyes tightened further.
"Your vow," he insisted.
Kaladin hesitated a moment, and he could see Adolin's right hand twitching to the side.
"I'm not going to promise I won't die," he said, exasperated. "You're a soldier, you know that there's no guarantees. I could get unlucky."
He lacked the delirious, instinctive confidence he felt last time he went into the storm. But he could feel the cool press of spheres, each from a different one of his men, sewn to the inside of his shirt by Hobber. So much more than last highstorm.
It had been difficult to breathe, in the worst of the tumult, but he also had a much better grasp on his powers this time, thanks to training with Sigzil, Rock, and Lopen. He should be able to draw in more than enough.
"I have...better reason then most to believe I'll survive this. I'll be alright. I'm not running."
Syl stood next to Adolin's shoulder. She had listened to the whole speech with thinly veiled wonder. Even though he knew she would be devastated if he broke his oath to flee, she had gasped and looked pleadingly at the mention of a ship. Kaladin smiled at her.
The prince glanced suspiciously at the air next to him, then started visibly.
Syl, in girlish form, giggled, sticking out her tongue, then turned into a ribbon of light, moving straight at the prince, causing him to blink as his yellow and black hair was shifted softly in the breeze.
She made a ring around Kaladins head, then zipped up, joining her cousins playing in the eddies above, the winds just beginning to pick up, sky growing dark.
It wouldn't be long now.
Adolin watched her go with a curious expression, then cocked his head at Kaladin.
"Stormblessed, huh?"
Kaladin just shrugged in reply. Well, he tried to anyway. The chains didn't have much give.
"Adolin, I gave my word that I'd see this through."
Adolin finally slumped, stepping back.
"Your men didn't think you'd run either. This still isn't right even if you do have... something on your side."
Kaladin didn't try and shrug again.

Makes me sad that all the deaths and the large time frame that the Cosmere takes place on prevents a proper crossover.
If Dalinar had known Tindwyl all of Oathbringer would be 2 chapters bc the coalition of monarchs would have no choice but to listen to her
Imagine Mistborn and Windrunners flying around, showing the other the intricacies of how their flight works
Adolin, Elend, and Raoden would be the triumvirate of Good Boys while their slightly insane wives could get together and have tea or smthn
Lightsong and Wayne will never get to compete for title of Most Insufferable
Imagine Hrathen learning of the shards and varying religions of the Cosmere and having another crisis of faith
Imagine introducing Scadrians and Rosharans to Nalthis, a place that has Good Plants and Nature
Steris and Renarin bond over being autistic in a world that is hard to navigate even when you’re neurotypical
Combining fabrials and allomancy to give Mistborn a new type of flight
Syl being drawn to Vin for how similar she is to Kal (read: grumbly with a severe case of rbf)
Vin showing off her koloss sword to shardbearers
Rosharans seeing aviar and losing their minds over the variety of chickens
Rosharans seeing any animal that isn’t a crab or slug and losing their minds
