I try not to post things that didn't make it into the game, but I feel like full dialogue from the intro adds important context to Simon’s feelings about the accident. Transcript under the cut.

people get SO WEIRD about listening to things sped up, it's up there with being someone who reads fast in terms of people accusing you of applying a grindset to minmax your content consumption when you've just got an incurable case of sonicbrainz (gotta go fast)

like i get how if you can't listen to things sped up you cannot imagine how it sounds normal to people but i am on the opposite end of the spectrum where i think people sped up sound normal and at 1x it sounds like they are talking extra slow on purpose

also if there is too much space between words or people talk too slow my mind WILL wander, and it will do so AGGRESSIVELY, until i am so caught up in my own thoughts that i will forget i was watching anything at all and start reading a book and only notice that i was watching a video when i go to turn on reading music and wonder why it's also playing something else over my music

#original #that is NOT hypothetical i used to do this ALL THE TIME while listening to podcasts #it took years to master my 2x speed + doing a puzzle game or cross-stitch technique #which are the only reason i can listen to podcasts #ftr at 2x they do sound sped up to me but at 1.5x everyone sounds like they are talking normal for once #the occasional rare podcast will have hosts that talk SO slow that i bump them to 2.5x

Actually I refuse to shut up about the fact that Utopia opens with cannibal humans, The Sound of Drums has a self-cannibalising TARDIS, in The Last of the Time Lords it is revealed the toclafane are humans, essentially having humanity cannibalise itself on a cosmic scale, and then The End of Time has the Master burning his own life force, essentially having him self-cannibalise. Like. Wow. Ouruboros. Ouruboros everywhere. Nietzschean Ubermensch trying to exist as a moral being without people to refer to or care for.

And the best part is? What underlies this goddamn mess is the INDOMITABILITY that the Doctor was so cheery about.

ok SO including picking up stitches and casting off rows and sewing seams together, I have 23 rows of knitting left to do on my slipover. let's see if I can finish it this weekend

#it doesn't sound like a lot left to do but there are 21 rows of 130+ stitches so it might still take a while #still #I have 6 or 7 projects directly in my line of sight right now and I'd like to finish one this weekend so I have a bit more brainspace #some of these require a bit more actual thinking so I want to finish something first and get it out of the way
