Look who I got to see on my recent trip to Wales!
Dolgoch truly does give amazing rides and it was so cool finally getting to see her in action. Riding in her train was incredible; I can’t recommend the scenery the TR provides enough. Genuinely, I was so taken in by the mountain views and waterfalls I couldn’t stop smiling.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
My little de-stresser Rheneas with his ‘twin’! (My phone really doesn’t like to focus on more than one thing so Neas is blurry, sorry!).

I started re-listening to the Sonic Frontiers soundtrack Stillness & Motion again and I genuinely can't help but associate some of the music with the SR engines (yes, despite the clear contrast in ... well, everything to do with them).
Undefeatable's lyrics make me think of Skarloey and Rheneas tirelessly working to keep their line alive; the opening lines "I'm hanging on to the other side, I won't give up 'til the end of me" remind me of Skarloey's damaged springs and Rheneas’ determination in the incidents which led to their overhauls. Find Your Flame is a song I now associate with Sir Handel and Peter Sam - I like to imagine it as a song they perhaps came up with to keep morale up, but the name and end verse were words of wisdom Duke once told them.
2-2 Heavenly Sky makes me imagine the little engines sitting outside and looking up at the night sky, full of twinkling stars. 3-3 Memory Will Tell feels like something I would associate with Rusty; it just sounds so friendly and ‘hard-working’, yet has this gorgeous melody about halfway in that reminds me of the gender-neutral pronouns he has in the early series of TVS.

Why does everyone have such great humanised SR designs, like, I love everyone’s headcanons on how the narrow gauge engines would look and how their history and stories lend themselves to various design elements. It all makes so much sense and I geuninely love every single person’s takes.
And here’s me with my own designs that I haven’t reuploaded in a while and am still constantly tweaking.

I want to post a status so badly ... I really do.
But I don’t want to post something depressing or full of anger.
So take a link to my Platinum Gijinkas instead! They’ve all got pics and the bios are being worked on as I post this. They’ve been a great distraction to help alleviate some pain I’ve been going through recently, plus they’re getting me hyped for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl!
The aim is to get ‘em done before BD/SP releases and judging by the progress made (from empty bios to now) they’ll be finished in plenty of time. Please enjoy them and keep an eye on the Toyhou.se for more characters - it is, after all, my OC/FC database that’s constantly being updated!

After last night, to anyone who reads this I highly recommend NOT trying to pull an all-nighter. Especially if the Sims 2 is the reason behind it.
The current family I’m focusing on has had kittens (one of which is now an elder), two births, one adoption and the dad is a Mad Scientist. The adopted kid has been through uni and the two births are currently going through uni.
And after uni I’ll be starting families with all three kids and going through the process all over again.
I LOVE them.
(Every time I play Sims 2, I always end up having late nights. There’s something so addicting about it that I love. And no, I don’t own Sims 3 or 4 and don’t want to.)

SHE’S FINALLY HERE!!!
Tumblr media
Recently I finished my Galar PokéDex (with the help of a very nice person) and I’m now levelling up my mons and Shiny Hunting. My first hunt was Shiny Milcery because I love how Shiny Alcremie looks.
And look! She finally hatched today in Egg number 541! This Milcery is the first Shiny I’ve ever hatched; all my previous ones have been found in the wild. I love her so much and the hunt has shown I can be patient ... for a little while.
Now I just need a name and a new Pokémon to Shiny Hunt ...

Hey, I’m here. Still arting. Just busy dealing with more important stuff as well.
I have some ideas for pics ... but I’m not drawing anything else until I’ve finished the Gijinka refs for my Shield team - which now includes my Isle of Armor team. Yaaaaay. Currently stuck on James because I wanna finish him but my brain INSISTS on Shiny Hunting Mienfoo since it’s one of my fav ‘mons ever.
Part of me really wants to Yu-Gi-Oh-fy Peridot and Lapis Lazuli ‘cause I love the pair of them (particularly Lapis). I also want to doodle some of the Japanese High School AU since I love school AUs anyway.
And then there’s refs for my original characters ... and various Kaiba doodles ... and Prideshippy stuff ... aaargh! Too much!
Well, I guess you could call this an update ... of sorts? At least I’m still here!

Shiny Dreepy at 96 Eggs! I started this hunt thinking I’d be taking forever, only for it to turn into my fastest hunt so far!
Ahhhh she’s so gorgeous and beautiful and super-duper cute in camp! And yes, she is called Prideship because the whole Dragapult line (especially the Shinies) makes me think of a Yami/Kaiba fusion. (Wanted to call her Prideshipping but it’s one letter too long argh)
Once she’s all EV trained, Bottle Cap boosted (she has terrible IVs lol) and evolved I’ll be bringing her with me into Max Raid Battles and the competitive scene. If ya see Prideship you’ll know I’m her trainer!

I find it absolutely hilarious to me that Kaiba is 6′1″ and I draw him dwarfing everyone else.
When I come to doodle Kaiba and Raihan together, it’s Kaiba that’s being dwarfed by Raihan. 6′8″ is Raihan’s canon height?! That’s a full seven inches! I knew the Hammerlocke Gym Leader was tall but I didn’t think he was THIS tall!!!
In my headcanon Kaiba doesn’t know what to think when he meets Galar’s resident Dragon master for the first time. All his life he’s been known for being tall and using dragons so to meet someone who’s even taller than HIM who does the same thing makes him a bit uneasy.
Yami’s even more in shock at seeing Kaiba actually be smaller than someone else for a change.
Raihan is blissfully unaware of the unease and takes a selfie with the fellow Dragon master.

So I’ve been calling what Kaiba wears on his wrists ‘gauntlets’ for the longest time, among other things (wristbands, bracers, etc.) Turns out I should really be calling them ‘vambraces’.
Vambraces (or lower cannons) are generally pieces of armour worn on the lower part of the arm aka the wrists and lower arm. The difference between vambraces and bracers are what they are used for; bracers are usually for archers and are made of soft material such as leather whereas vambraces are usually part of a suit of armour and made of tougher material such as metal.
Wristbands are ... well, wristbands and gauntlets are a type of armoured glove.
If in doubt, google vambraces.
So from now on I’m referring to Kaiba’s ‘gauntlets’ as ‘vambraces’. Well ... they look like a vambrace hybrid at least.

Chillin’ out on my birthday today. Watching vids. Doodling.
Messing with villagers as a goose. (Love Untitled Goose Game so much.)
May do a photo shoot with the Pride boys later. The weather’s actually calm for a change.
...
I don’t have any concrete idea on what to do today. XDXDXD

2019 Review / 2020 Plans
2019 was ... interesting, to say the least. I started getting into Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds and firmly established my favourite character from that series to be Jack Atlas, which also led to my favourite rarepair Coatshipping becoming a thing for me. I finally finished a series of pics (this is HUGE for me!) and started up yet more AUs.
Let’s go over things in a more simplified way:
January / February Got into 5Ds. Jack Atlas became my fav 5Ds character. Coatshipping, along with other 5Ds pairings, were added to my fav ship list. Finished Let’s Go Eevee, with that team being added to my list of gijinkas to design.
May Finished the series of pics with YGO characters and Spyro 1 Flight levels.
June Switched fandoms from Yu-Gi-Oh to Thomas the Tank Engine. The break from Yu-Gi-Oh was very much needed at the time as I’d hit an artblock. Started revealing more of my TTTE in University idea.
September Fell in love with the Empress from A Hat in Time. Like, I really really love her.
October Switched back from TTTE to Yu-Gi-Oh. Took on a YGO version of Inktober called ‘Yugiotober’, created by @theyuugimutou, and finished every prompt. It was a lot of fun, and I drew a lot of new characters! Spent the weekend (and Kaiba’s birthday) in London for the first time whilst attending Comic Con. I have a recap of what happened somewhere on my blog ... I think the Always AU started coming into fruition during this month.
November Bought and completed Pokémon Shield, adding yet another team to the list to gijinkify. Oleana became best girl. I’m not kidding. I freakin’ love every aspect about her. Also subtly defended Inteleon’s honour from haters of its design. I’m proud of this, OK?
December Third ‘Pridecember’ challenge accepted and completed. I won’t stop loving this pair! A YGO/Pokémon AU became a possibility, particularly due to my White 2 Yugi file, me finding my beloved Gigantamax Duraludon in-game and @lokziiviingaal‘s lovely artwork featuring Dimensional Variants!
Plans for 2020? I’ve actually already covered them in this journal entry on deviantArt. I’ll link it here to repeat posting that lengthy journal all over again.
To summarise it, expect gijinkas of all my ‘mons, more YGO art and the start of my original series! Also expect a little bit less fan-art as I try to tone it down in order to focus more on my original series.
Have a Happy New Year wherever you are! Celebrate it safely, responsibly and hopefully with loved ones!

I want to give my opinions on the reveal of Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens.
First, I’m OK with a new series. New protag to get to know, new Rush Duels, new monsters (hello, that flamed-haired one please don’t kill me for not knowing its name yet reminds me of Midna from Legend of Zelda).
Heck, in the trailer Blue-Eyes was shown so I’m happy.
Second, I’m not going to decide whether I like or hate it until after it starts showing. (Looking at you, haters of Sword and Shield who boycotted them without giving them a chance. You missed out BIG TIME on the amazing Gyms.)
There is one thing I will say that I’m not happy about.
THE ART STYLE.
It’s going down the path of Pokémon where they simplified it and made it more ... childish. And I will say I’m still not a big fan of the art style they’re using for the Pocket Monsters series.
It makes me sad that Yu-Gi-Oh is now following the trend of other anime who are simplifying their art style to appeal to a younger audience. Yu-Gi-Oh isn’t like Pokémon; it has always had more mature themes so I don’t see the need to simplify the style. I will miss the different versions of Takahashi’s beautiful style, the style that made YGO iconic to a lot of fans.
I also think the style change has to do with the promotion of Rush Duels therefore promoting the TCG and not the actual story. Don’t forget Yu-Gi-Oh started off as a STORY, not a game. It was about games, specifically Magic and Wizards aka Duel Monsters, and then the Duel Monsters idea became a real-life game.
Also, I find it quite ironic that the seventh Yu-Gi-Oh anime has changed their style just like Pokémon changed their style for the Gen 7-based anime. Is there something about the seventh incarnations that brings about a style change? (Also the change happens after a series that looks so gorgeous aka the XYZ series for Pokémon and VRAINS for YGO)
... right, I won’t ramble on anymore about the art style. There will be people who like this new style, after all! It’s my only gripe so far, the rest of it still has that YGO vibe for me. And that’s the important thing.
That’s all I have to say on Yu-Gi-Oh Sevens. Apart from the style, I’m intrigued as to what this incarnation of the original story has planned for it. And these are just initial opinions - there’s every chance they can change in the future!

I have a feeling the rest of Pridecember is literally gonna be Yami and Kaiba with Galar Pokémon. Because I can’t stop playing Shield and my mind is racing with potential Galar teams that I can actually use.

Late night post. I badly want to construct Galar teams for YGO characters.
Yugi / Yami with Hatterene? Kaiba with Duraludon? Bakura with Grimmsnarl?!
Yeah ... I think after I’m done with a few more Shiny Hunts I’ll be searching these Pokémon out and building teams. I’ve never had stronger YGO vibes from a Pokémon game than Sword and Shield.
