I was re-reading your rules, do you mind writing merformers?
Like merformers starscream had gotten a beating from megatron for whatever his latest takeover scheme was and the reader found Starscream injured on the strip of inlet her backyard is on. She nursed the merformer back to health and now he’s kind of spoiled because whenever he can’t get food or just doesn’t feel like hunting he knows he just has to show up and the readers house and she will have some sort of food for him. He won’t admit it but Starscream is developing a crush and puff up his fins and Gill frills to look bigger (he’s totally posturing) 😂
Omg, I freaking love this especially the whole posturing part you mentioned. I just hope I did it justice because I had a lot of thoughts about this but I don't know if I really got them to sound coherent
•Starscream had managed to get away from Megatron, but he had passed out from his injuries
•When he woke up, he found himself washed up on a small beach
•He didn’t realize it right away, but someone had wrapped his arms and tail fins in something white
•When he did  though, he tried to immediately get it off
•”Hey, don’t do that!” he heard someone yell
•Starscream can understand english but since his species doesn’t communicate the same way humans do, he can’t exactly talk it’s more like clicks, hisses and chirps if that makes sense
•Well he could learn to talk at least to some extent, but since he has a dislike for humans, he’s never bothered to
•He of course hissed at you and attempted to get back into the ocean, away from the beach and away from you
•But his tail was hurt and so were his arms so he couldn’t really back away from you
•You’d heard of merfolk, sure, but you never imagined you’d meet one
•So when this big mer washed up on the beach behind your house, you were a bit hesitant as to what to do
•But then you noticed he was bleeding and hurt so you decided to patch him up and hope he wouldn’t eat you in the process
•You got him patched up, and sat down on a rock a few meters away waiting for him to wake up
•You occasionally threw some water on him with a bucket, so he wouldn’t dry up
•But when he woke up you ended up in a bit of a standoff
•Starscream was just staring at you with a very aggressive expression, but you also detected some fear in his eyes
•So you sat back down on the rock and just told him: “Don’t take those off, they’re gonna help you heal” motioning towards the bandages
•Starscream retreated back into the water but he didn’t leave, he just sort of swam circles where he could still keep an eye on you
•You sat there on the rock and looked as the gray mer swam lazy circles in the water
•You figured some food might help him feel better so you went in to get the rest of the fish you’d cooked earlier that day
•You set it on the beach, on a plate of course and sat back down to wait
•Starscream smelled the fish and hesitantly swam closer to the shore, grabbing the fish quickly and stuffing it into his mouth before diving back under
•This became almost a daily occurrence, Starscream would appear on the shallows behind your house and you would feed him whatever you happened to have at hand
•He also let you take off his bandages after about a week of this whole trust building exercise
•Starscream started to bring you gifts in exchange for the food, things like sea shells and fish, but he mostly brought the fish so you would cook it and give it back to him because he was starting to get a bit spoiled
•Every time you come to bring him food, he tries to look as big as he can because he wants to impress you and seem strong
•One night you were going for a little swim and Starscream appeared and started swimming slow circles around you
•You were just floating there, looking up at the night sky and smiling
•Starscream found himself staring at you in awe and he started swimming closer and closer to you
•You weren’t scared, but you were a little nervous about the way he was looking at you
•You could only see his eyes and up from there and you sort of felt like you were being hunted
•Not like in a bad way though, more like he just wanted to catch you and not actually eat you

Wow, your response to the Starscream questions was Above and Beyond, and so delightful to read! (I have now read it several times, and am still cackling over 'Discount Megatron,' lmao). Reading your answers has gotten me thinking about how I would answer those same questions - which might not happen right away because Busy Life is Busy, but if you have time, I would love to hear: What are some of your favorite Starscream Moments?
Busy Life is Busy indeed! We'll just pretend it didn't take me a very long time to answer this, lol.
So I've spent a while thinking about this, because it's cheating to say "all of them", and I also don't like all of them. But as long as he's not being abused, handed the stupid ball for plot reasons, or made a major villain, I'm pretty happy whenever he's onscreen/on page. In no particular order (save the first one), here are some of my favorite Starscream moments and episodes:
There is one portrayal in which I like him as a major villain, and that's TFP S1. Usually when a Starscream is the main antagonist, he's made into an even worse person than Megatron, which is... probably the easiest way to make me hate a portrayal of Starscream. But this is about favorite things, so: TFP Starscream. Has his priorities straight, one of the only Decepticons who actually gets anything done. Best Starscream as a long-term antagonist. Pity they had to bring Megatron back.
G1 Starscream was never a long-term main villain, which is why I don't count his one-off episodes in the above category, but I love when he does get to be the villain for an episode. He gets so excited when things are going well (and I don't mind his repeated attempts to destroy Earth in G1, because he's not worse than Megatron when Megatron does the same thing. Also, they were Saturday morning cartoon villains, it was basically required that a planet or two be endangered on a regular basis).
I was going to list my favorite G1 Starscream episodes, but you know what, I think that's pretty much every episode he's a main character in. The only one I can think of right off that I don't like so much is Triple Takeover (he's gone for half the episode anyway). If I had to choose a single favorite episode, I am contractually obligated as a SkyStar fan to say Fire in the Sky. But Enter the Nightbird and Auto Berserk are close behind.
Going more into individual moments:
I don't remember the context, but there's a scene in one of the IDW comics when Optimus wants Starscream to do something, and Starscream has to take a moment to bask in the satisfaction of Optimus needing him (he does, in fact, just take a panel to be smug, as I recall).
Every moment in Armada when Starscream interacts with the Minicons.
I haven't seen much TFA, but in episode 3 he steals a bus full of humans, takes it up to a tall building, and then spends a while circling it like a vulture. I remember none of his rationale for doing this, beyond baiting the Autobots, but I enjoyed that.
G1 Starscream being so happy to be back in his own time in Decepticon Raider that he jumped on Megatron.
Similarly, G1 Starscream jumping on and bowling over Optimus in Roll For It. He's two for two on tackling the leaders (but only one leader got punched in the face after).
Going off and doing his own thing when he doesn't trust the Sub-Atlantians in Atlantis Arise! And being correct.
Similarly, figuring out the "Stunticons" were actually Autobots in about two seconds in Masquerade.
Making his own combiner out of beach scrap.
"I'd shoot the thing, but you ordered me not to."
"I circled half the globe searching for him."
I shall leave it there, lol. Lest I really do just list every episode I like that he appears in.

STARSCREAM!!
So it's probably not too hard to imagine his name being screamed out loud by Megatron because surprise, surprise - he just a) messed something up, b) tried to stage another takeover or c) both.
But this is TFA Starscream who never really succeeded with...well, anything on screen. Regardless though, he's a fun character. Maybe I'll redraw him someday.

Hunger Pains AU
Canonically energon is produced by Cybertron itself. And because Cybertron is essentially dead before its restoration it must have not been producing any or very little energon. As such getting ahold of energon is shown to not exactly be an easy affair and in the long run the lack of it would have certainly led any surviving Cybertronians to die of starvation once all deposits were depleted (that is if synthetic energon failed to become a viable option). In the show the problem of energon is already a big issue, after all there is only so much energon on earth (discounting dark energon). And so my sick mind decided that it would be interesting if the problem was made 1000% worse.
Behavioral Changes
The Decepticons, while having access to more resources, would be far more calculating and conservative with their energon use. Their strike forces would be smaller and any actions taken would always be with an express purpose. No bot would leave the nemesis unless they had a specific task to accomplish, and when not working the Vehicons would be put into stasis so as to not waste energon on meaningless things.
As for high command, they would all be incredibly aware at all times, and due to running on near empty tanks constantly, their interactions with one another would be far more aggressive. Suddenly Starscream's attempted takeovers are far more serious, his waste of energon being more frowned upon than the attempt itself. Injuries are met with extreme anger from high command and any Vehicons unlucky enough to sustain any serious damage would be deactivated and drained of their energon to save resources.
Megatron is even more aggressive than in the show, his actions more calculated but infinitely more desperate. He would remain on the nemesis as often as possible, planning and scheming instead of fighting. His use of dark energon would be even more carefree than in the show (if that is even possible) and he would likely subsist off the stuff once he built up a good enough resistance. This in turn would drive his insanity up a few notches.
Starscream is far more cunning and hardly ever takes to the air because of fuel usage. His wings being little more than deadweight due to this, leading him to get a stockier frame and a ground based fighting style to make up for his lessened ability to fly. The only arguably good thing to come from his constant state of near starvation would be that he would not be nearly as cowardly. A mech who has next to nothing to loose and lives with death looming around his helm every single day would eventually grow apathetic.
Soundwave remains in recharge as long as possible when not working in order to keep his precious cassettes as healthy as they can be. His ability to monitor the nemesis and be deployed on missions subsequently being a lot less effective due to his near starved state. He also is a lot less caring about the orderliness of the ship as he cannot afford to intervene unless it benefits Megatron.
Shockwave's experiments are a lot more controlled, often he is unwilling to do anything that has a chance of failure above 20%. Due to the 50/50 nature of his work he walks a very fine line in Megatron's good books. He has nearly been deactivated more times than he can count because of a failed experiment wasting energon.
Knockout doesn't bother with his paint nearly as much and instead hyper fixates on keeping healthy as he has had one too many experiences with starvation. He is a lot less flamboyant, and while he still retains his vanity, he is a less vocal about it as he doesn't want to face the ire of the starved crew. He also is incredibly close to straight up deserting nearly all the time despite knowing the Autobots don't have it any better. He would just prefer to not live in constant fear of Megatron all the time.
Breakdown tends to follow Soundwave's example and remains idle if not in recharge when possible due to how much energon his frame requires. He is not nearly as cheerful as in the show and while still happy and optimistic, tends to be more of a realist. He hangs around in the medical bay most of the time because occasionally Knockout will slip him an extra ration.
Arachnid spends most of her time off the nemesis, taking her chances out in the wilds instead of risking her helm. She is far more cunning and willing to take risks if it means a meal. She hunts Vehicons when energon is scarce and is not afraid to grovel at Megatron's pedes when necessary.
Predaking remains in stasis most of the time due to his high energon consumption rate. Much like Optimus and Megatron he only makes a move when there is an immediate benefit. His pride, while still present would also be subdued as he is willing to do whatever it takes to stay alive, even if it means acting like a beast for longer than in the show.
Life is grim on the nemesis... not that the Autobots have it much better.
The Autobots would operate with similar restrictions, their scouting being rarer and only ever done when Decepticon activity is confirmed via satellite or government given data. Even then, only Arcee, Bumblebee, or Smokescreen would ever be deployed to scout in order to conserve energon. Bigger bots like Bulkhead, and later Ultra Magnus, would only be sent out when a named Decepticon is confirmed to be present. This in turn would mean that the individual Autobots would become far more effective at single combat and a lot more underhanded in combat to make up for lack of firepower.
The mood around base would be somber near constantly, the arrival of the children being met with far more hatred than in the show due to the extra trouble they bring (they eventually warm up to them though). The Autobots cannot afford to take any action without purpose, and as such they would not participate in any activity for the sake of the children without good reason. This means that the human children would likely share one guardian if they were assigned one at all. And when at base they would mostly only receive interaction in the form of conversation as unnecessary movement is simply a waste of energon. This would likely cause some degree of strain in the relationship between the Autobots and the children. But as they spend more time together they would bond over the grim situation as the children do their best to help.
Due to situation, Optimus almost never leaves base, his frame far too large and high maintenance to be moved around carelessly. This would mean he would spend enormous amounts of time in recharge to conserve energy or fulfilling a role similar to Soundwave's when he is not issuing orders. He is only sent out when Megatron is confirmed to be present or when artifacts are involved. The lack of energon would also make him far more stoic and ruthless, his compassion while still present, would be more subdued in order to keep his team alive. His morals would also decay slightly, making him more willing to do underhanded or otherwise taboo things if it means his family will live one more day.
Ultra Magnus is in the same boat, confined to base unless firepower is specifically requested and acknowledged to be necessary by Optimus AND Ratchet. He follows Optimus's lead and spends more time idle than not, often maintaining the weaponry around base or standing guard near the relic/energon storage room just in case. He is just as strict as in the show and far quicker to anger when met with a failed mission or rebellious behavior. He refuses to allow Optimus to take upon himself the weight of any more unnecessary burdens.
Wheeljack purposefully leaves as soon as a mission is done and refuses to stay a moment longer despite Miko's pleading for one very specific reason. The team, while liking him as an individual, hate his presence because of the strain it puts on resources. Even Optimus not so subtly suggests that he leave the Autobot base as soon as possible after he does whatever he came to do. Wheeljack understands completely and so only comes to earth if he has an offering of energon or has been summoned by Optimus.
Bulkhead while stuck confined to base, is the assigned babysitter to the children and keeps them entertained as best he can while limiting his movement. He often tells the children stories to keep them out of trouble and lets them climb around on his frame. He might also be willing to help them reach or carry things but he would not do much else. He still would get along great with Miko though as she would still respect and adore his wrecker fighting style the few times he engages in combat. His disposition would mostly stay the same, although he would be far more tired and less emotive.
Arcee is by far the most active member of the team as her small size ensures that she is the easiest to keep up and running. She is one of the few members of the team who get full rations, something she never fails to feel guilty about. Arcee ends up doing a majority of the tasks that require significant effort and does almost all the scouting for the Autobots. She is run ragged constantly working, but she is the only bot who can fulfill the tasks without the energon cost outweighing the benefit. Due to the stress she would lose most of her snark and instead act like more of an overworked single mom than anything else.
Bumblebee is even more mature than in the show, even before getting his voice back. He would not have had much of an opportunity to have a sparklinghood and would have grown up feeling like a burden. Optimus would have made a great many sacrifices to ensure the Bumblebee did not grow up malnourished, something Bee always feels guilty about alongside gratitude. With the situation so dire he is always busy trying to make things easier for the team. When not on duty he does what he can to make the others smile, so that if only for a moment they can forget the slow march to extinction looming over them.
Smokescreen would be greeted with hatred because of resource strain, but also joy due to the implications of his arrival. The fact that he is alive and made it to earth proves that there are others out there and that there is some hope for the future with the omega keys. However he would likely make quite a few insensitive comments regarding rations before quickly learning just how bad the situation is. Afterwards he would work hard like Bumblebee to keep the team in reasonable spirits while taking up the burden of responsibility.
Lastly Ratchet is infinitely more pessimistic than in the show, his hope all but gone and what little remains residing in the wisdom of Optimus's leadership. He is more cold and gruff and a lot more picky when it comes to which injuries he decides to repair. He is forced to give the team values based on the benefits they bring, something that always brings him great shame. He would love to help everyone but the resources available don't allow it, often leading members of the team to go weeks if not months without repair for their smaller injuries. He hates the human children with a passion and only begins to tolerate them after they start helping in meaningful ways like collecting valuable information or assisting in stopping Decepticon plans. He is constantly tired and focuses most of his energy when off duty on keeping Optimus from starving himself to death.
The human government and children do what they can to help, but life is grim in the Autobot base.
Physical Changes
This would apply to all bots regardless of faction, but in essence they would all be painfully thin.
The younglings among the Autobots would be a little better off, having been fed enough during their sparkling years to reach their proper size but otherwise still appearing a little underfed and slightly discolored. However the older bots on both sides would end up looking progressively more sickly depending on size. The smaller bots like Arcee would only suffer from mild energon deficiency, armor weakening, and discoloration. Medium sized bots like Knockout and Starscream would have even thinner armor, washed out tones, weakened cables, lessened strength, and general tiredness.
But the most noticeable effects of extended starvation only really show on the largest of the bots, namely bots like Optimus and Megatron.
Since Megatron is a bit of an outlier in that he consumes dark energon instead of normal energon he deserves his own little section. Despite his dark energon snorting he still suffers from several symptoms of extended starvation, albeit with effects of his dietary choices tossed on top. His frame is more deadly, but it looks almost decayed, no longer a vibrant silver and purple but instead appearing to be somewhat rusty and emaciated. Every movement would cause an ear rattling shriek, and his limbs would appear almost elongated and unnatural due to lack of armor. Essentially he is a monster from the deep.
As for Optimus, he is the living embodiment of trial and sacrifice. His everything is gaunt and painfully thin, so much so that his inner systems can be seen without much effort. His plating his nearly grey from lack of nutrients and frail enough to crack and break off from any significant damage. His limbs, optics, and helm appear disproportionate due to the metal covering them receding and thinning. He can't even be bothered to get an earth alt-form as it uses too much energy to maintain, much less transform into. And to top it all off his logical processors are only maintained by the Matrix, and on occasion he slips and becomes near feral until he gets energon. Where the energon comes from is not something he ever intends to tell his team. A Prime falling to maddened cannibalism in hunger induced desperation is not something he can ever allow to be known.

Please I'd love to see some Starscream and Bumblebee action. I'm starved for good StarBee content, just go ham and have fun writing it!
If that dreaded, incompetent, brutish Sideswipe ruins his paintjob one more time Starscream is going to raze this entire base to the ground! He will leave no Autobot unmutilated. He'll dance upon their graves with glee.
Mechs make way as Starscream stomps through the Ark's hallways, turning to watch his pink-coated form retreat to Bumblebee's habsuite. He hates these stupid do-gooders and their stupid Prime and this stupid, run-down ship. If he could, Starscream would have slaughtered all of them by now.
Bumblebee perks up when Starscream comes through the door with optics set to kill, putting down one of those stupid handheld Earth games Spike had given him. Starscream hates this yellow bug most of all! If this little pest hadn't gone and seduced him, Starscream would still be the Decepticon Second-in-Command ready to takeover once Megatron inevitably kicks the metaphorical bucket. Even now, with the very noticeable seeker impression in Bee's berth, he figures this must be a long-con. Some sort of scheme devised by that horrid Jazz. He must think it's so funny his little scout was able to get a high ranking Decepticon to defect.
"Sideswipe again? I told him to lay off," Bumblebee's voice is sympathetic as he moves over to let Starscream sit on the berth. After a moment of deciding between pulling his ray-gun on Bee or taking the offered seat, the seeker plants himself down with a huff. There's that awful, no-good servo on his arm again, soothing down the worst parts of him. He hates that small appendage, the way it calms and tempers in an instant. Can turn a raging fire into a cooling downpour. His spark, once turning and cycling like an enraged equine, thumps in tune to the whimsical calm of Bumblebee's presence.
"Will you let me wipe you down?" Starscream finally looks over at that smiling face, ready with a characteristic sneer of his own, but stops short. Eventually, the novelty of consideration will wear off. This bug will grow boring, as good things often do, and Starscream will return to his senses. But for now the consideration, the gentleness, the goodness is pleasing. So Starscream nods with a huff, and lets his little Bee wipe away the drying pink paint until his finish gleams.
The only reason turning his back on the Decepticons seemed right was because of this. With Bee curled up in his arms, defenses completely lowered, this sweetness felt right. For once there was a sense of benevolence to his days. Starscream can't help the exasperated, annoyed pinch to his brows. The things he does for love!

Back on this beloved OptiTarn TtSG AU now.
This is a major timeskip with lots of things in between but; eventually the Autobots with Tarn in co-command begin to be much more proactive about hunting Decepticons and what's more, looking to the stars. Optimus and he are firmly on each other's side and have settled into a formal relationship and romantic one at this point having done most of the four acts.
Tarn has brought Optimus a new interest. The Colonies.
The SG!Decepticons are disturbed and horrified. They cannot let the Autobots destroy more worlds after what has been done to their own. Megatron has been incredibly guilty over the damages done by Tarn and listened to the stories told by Soundwave as a warning to not let himself fall. They all have nightmares about what Tarn, the Prime's Hunting Hound is his nickname now, did that day and continues to do.
Even formally sympathetic populations are falling under the "New Reforms" and an understandable exhaustion from war.
Starscream laughs that he almost could like Tarn for some of those laws they are implementing in his little takeover if it didn't come hand in hand for his philosophy of peace through tyranny and absolute control.
Soundwave is worried about all of them.
Starscream has been quiet, their Voice not silenced but occasionally whispering with the loss of Thundercracker to one such hunt. He and Megatron have both been focusing on the other but not their own trauma which had made Soundwave sigh in fond worry. They'd propped each other up though and Starscream had accepted the young Nova Storm, newly alone herself, into his and Skywarp’s Trine.
Skywarp is the worst concern. Flamewar for all her lashing out and screaming is voicing her feelings. Skywarp has gone quiet and distant and worrisomely focused on reading every report and studying and picture they get of Tarn.
Even worse are the rumors of the newborns disappearing from hotspots or newly onlined Cold Constructed specially chosen by the Prime and Tarn to form an elite squad. Soundwave suspects he knows exactly who they are and exactly who is missing that Tarn wants to find in the stars and in the places they search.
He evacuated Forestock as soon as he made the connection to the small bot in between the Prime and Tarn in the official photos as "Kaon". He cannot let Tarn get a hold of more people, innocent people, to replay Tarn's own traumas on and mold them like he was.
Any Decepticon he knows Tarn had a special connection to is sent as far away and as securely hidden as Soundwave can make them. He only wishes his spy would leave as well or he could hide away Megatron, perhaps one of the biggest targets.
Soundwave though protects those he can and Lockdown is always willing to help smuggle high value targets off planets to what small havens Soundwave is forming. His goal is to keep escape routes and one day evacuation routes for their entire faction to flee, but he won't leave, none of them will, while there is still hope.
Something Tarn is helping the Prime surgically crush and the Waves blame themselves for entirely.
Soundwave is the one who realizes that something is going give when Shockwave, loud bright and so hopeful, proposes a weapon. They are all shocked and Megatron says, very quietly, "You are not a weapons designer." Shockwave says he is now and they are all concerned and reports come in and after hearing the casualties and atrocities Megatron with a heavy heart agrees they have to attack first and stop this escalation and destroy the space bridge no matter the cost.
He accepts the fusion cannon that Shockwave has presented him with and requests an upgrade.
Ohhh the poor sg Decepticons.
WaitNoNotTheColonies
Yeahhh they're terrified of him. He's capable of such horrific stuff.
Ohh... the cons are taking this hard
.mmnn fuck the kidnapping of well kids.
Good plan Soundwave good plan
And this is how the fusion cannon enters the picture, along with the plan to destroy the spacebridge

In TFA, when it looked to the Cybertronians like Megatron was dead, was the leader of the Decepticons Blitzwing? Everyone had ditched Starscream, Shockwave was still undercover, Lugnut refused to believe Megatron was dead... and it was Blitzwing who gave Megatron’s eulogy and took the first steps against the bot he thought had killed him. Triple takeover for real I guess lol Kind of sad given the way he was degraded later!

The third panel here references the Sunbow episode “Triple Takeover”, while the fourth references how Thrust was the first Decepticon to gain the power of “The Golden Lagoon”. In the last panel, we see him staring down Galvatron, returning to retake control of the Decepticons in “Five Faces of Darkness”.

Earthspark in One Week HYPE!!!! What are some of your theories about what may happen in this new season?
I'm pacing a hole in the floor with how excited I am!! It might be a little longer than one week for me since I live outside the US (which is extra anxiety), but I'm going to find a way to watch the new season asap!
Take these with a grain of salt, but here's my theories for what might happen in season 2:
The new Terrans are going to get their alt modes (obvious given)
Big Decepticon jailbreak from GHOST's facility (another obvious). We'll probably get to see some cameos of other 'Cons during it i.e. non-speaking roles to fill out the space, show just how many 'Cons were being held prisoner, and give fans a shot of their favourite bots
If the jailbreak wasn't set off by Starscream (along with Soundwave), then Scream at least takes advantage of it. He gets a whole hostile takeover and/or Megatron revenge quest out of his system, until he's either stopped or gives up. Then because there's no more war to lead the Decepticons into, Scream's kind of in limbo until he becomes a somewhat-ally to Team O.P./the Terrans, showing up every so often when the narrative calls for it. Maybe he bunks with Bee in the barn, or maybe he gets his own place out in the woods to live in, giving him some independence and privacy. Either way, Starscream gets to be an individual instead of having to be Second in Command.
Starscream's eye colour gets its own section. I absolutely think there could be mind/emotional control going on: the "Something's wrong!" line from the season 2 trailer followed by Grimlock attacking (and Elita's line in the first episode about how attacking out in the open "isn't like" Swindle and Hardtop, but it's been a while since I watched that episode, so I don't have the exact quote), do set up some kind of mind control plot. The fact that Starscream's eyes are blue in what appears to be a flashback, means it makes less sense for the eye colour to represent what side Scream is on, plus a few other 'Cons don't have red eyes (Swindle and Skullcruncher have yellow-white). One theory I have that's mostly Because It's Cool is that it could be a way to represent that Scream really DOES see himself as (or is considered to be) the true leader of the Decepticons now. However, I don't think it's going to be that deep. Apart from Megatron, the only 'Cons who have consistently had red eyes so far are Soundwave (if you count the visor), and the other Seekers, Skywarp and Novastorm. It really could just be a detail that unifies the Seeker designs.
If GHOST are up to something nefarious, the upcoming season feels like the best time to reveal it. At the very least they're going to get called out for keeping Cons prisoner indefinitely. Idk if this will happen, but the theory that GHOST is using spark energy for something would be very fucked up and awesome to see.
I do think the 'Mandroid becomes Tarantulas' theory is solid, and there's been some stuff in season 1 that might have been hints towards it. When Mandroid is talking to Dorothy about his injuries, he says "[My Arachni-mechs] saved me, the only way they knew how." Which definitely could be seen as foreshadowing for him going through another near-death experience, and his Mechs save him 'the only way they can', by fusing with his body/turning him into one of them. If I remember correctly we didn't see Mandroid survive his big walking laboratory going down, so maybe Tarantulas shows up next season and the twist is it's Mandroid who got fused with his spiders after the lab went down. Again, I think it's just as likely to not happen as it is to happen, there isn't a lot of hard evidence - but if it does happen, there's moments in the first season that arguably pointed towards it.
Ratchet feels like one of the top contenders to show up. I'd love to see Cyclonus or Drift, but I feel like the show is going to prioritise Autobots from the Gen 1 team - from that list, I personally think Ironhide or Jazz could be cool to see.
It looks like the fucking Allspark!! In the background of Megatron talking to Shockwave!! So maybe the 'Cons managed to get the Allspark, and Megs still couldn't win the war with it. If I had to take a guess, Megs (and likely Optimus) realised that if the war continued to go on it would likely destroy their entire race. It's been shown a lot throughout the show (e.g. his argument with O.P. while fighting the casettes, his annoyance during the press conference in the season 1 finale) that Megs' highest priority is the safety and survival of the Cybertronian people, so it'd make sense (if only for the ES version) that he'd rather end the war/come to a compromise than lose everything. That also begs the question of where the Allspark is now, and I reckon Optimus hid it so GHOST couldn't get their hands on it (I wouldn't trust GHOST with it and I don't think Prime would either.
Now for Shockwave. Based on the trailer, it looks like a lot of what we were shown about Shockwave so far is through flashbacks (either multiple or a singular large one). Based on the energy field with very little behind it when he raises his blaster-arm, and the fact that the moon is a frequent motif with his character, Shockwave might very well be on the moon in those flashbacks (he could also be on the Nemesis, but I feel like you'd want a more stable base of operations to house the Allspark). It looks like Megatron was already on his way out of the 'Cons, and Shockwave intercepted him trying to take the Allspark. In the present, I think the Kids find Shockwave on Earth deactivated (when Thrash makes his joke about changing his shorts in the season 2 trailer, Shockwave's greyed-out body is lying in front of him!), and accidentally reactivate him. My big and way-out-there theory is that in the end, Shockwave either dies for real, or at least disappears for the rest of the season. I'm going to point to the toyline again. Shockwave's Earthspark figure is a recolour of his deluxe Cyberverse figure (which also makes the toy's design radically different from the show's design). I do own a recolour Transformer, and it's for Cyberverse Blurr. Spoilers for Cyberverse, Blurr shows up for one episode where he DIES in the end. So that makes me nervous about how the relationship between Blurr's show presence and toy could possibly apply to Earthspark Shockwave, whose only figure is a recolour of a past toy. It's possible the people behind the show didn't want to spoil the design early, but surely they'd put more effort into the figure if he was going to be a recurrent character.
So yeah, those are my theories about season 2. Sorry it started to get really long, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk about them! Whatever happens, I'm excited to see more of Earthspark!

Glad you liked it! But yes Uncle Jackie has opinions but respects that Starscream is their parent/caretaker/creator/mentor and he is hapoy to be the fun Uncle/one who listens when they don't feel like going to their parent.
Even funnier concept besides tiny Wheeljack (I love the small Autobots) being carried back to Decepticon territory as declared the Only Good Autobot, is everyone mistakes them for dating.
It's Starscream’s Autobot.
Wheeljack thinks this is funny. Starscream thinks this is funny. They are now friends and this very tired jet needs friends. Unfortunately, due to his being late, he isn’t on the ship when Megatron leaves, which means he is back home with Strika, which means he misses some key aspects and arrives to fine Megatron missing, allegedly killed by an Autobot strike team that found the All Spark, the Decepticons all arguing, and Starscream actually facing no opposition to takeover.
Wheeljack hasn't been released to return to hia work because he's being held hostage, but because it takes 50 years for Starscream to calm things down with Strika who is also upset because her consort ia missing. Wheeljack just sort of stumbles into being one of Starscream's advisors and friends in this.
The Jettwins are living and get along well with Blitzwing, who is very upset about Lugnut, more than Megatron, and keeps leading the exploratory parties to find him.
(And Megatron.)
Starscream is stressed, happy, and actually making friends with the most unexpected (for him) people like Strika, Cyclonus, and the strange Dinobots? Who Wheeljack and the twins found sailing around in a gutted Autobot ship and Wheeljack adopted. Who were very cagey about their origins but nice enough for new sparks. They gave his kids playmates.
This answer is like a milliom years late and I'm so sorry
I love everything about this tho. I love Star having allies and friends, I love him being able to care for the twins. I love advisor Wheeljack and Blitzwing being a bro. Everything about this is so fun and wholesome and I'm dying

had a dream that transformers started a war by a decepticon speaking falsehoods to optimus through his matrix making him paranoid into attacking his comrades and the deceptions too advantage of that chaos. it was such a good plan. their plans were smoothly executed. acecom characters were there and i actually saw them die. most of them! i didnt know how many were alive. i saw the captain die 😭 his last words were that he lived through others. he and cdo were separated. i was hurt and found cdo in a car planning something. i reached my hand to grab his and told him what the captain said and he grasped my hand tightly before parting ways. then everyone i knew was gone, missing or dead. when i walked with other people to find somewhere safe ough i started crying because i remember seeing them for the last time, they said goodbye with such confidence that theyll be find, some without certainty. but i remembered the look on their faces.
and i overheard starscream tell optimus that the goal of the decepticon plan wasnt to just take over the world as a efficiently as possible (which surprised me because it seemed they were doing a good job) but was to disable systems, demoralize people, taking their sweet time with the actual takeover, pick off the strongest warriors one by one 😭 mannnn sucked being a human

Back on my Starscream era. Might do a takeover at some point. But expect screechy jet posts.
