it's interesting how it's actually christine who is emotionally unavailable and doesn't know how to handle feelings, not spock who is actively and persistently trying to make her open up to him.
and it really shows how complex christine is - she is empathetic, making others (including spock) feel safe and encouraged to speak about their feelings, yet she can't be vulnerable herself.
spock is clearly worried about christine putting up walls and acting as if she is okay, he doesn't like it that she wants to be left alone, but christine has too many unresolved issues and is too stubborn to change her ways.

strange new worlds better let spock be queer—and they better let him and jim get together eventually; it’s genuinely baffling that spirk has existed as a beloved ship since the goddamn sixties and has NEVER been made canon despite plenty of 21st-century opportunities

Star Trek: Strange Noir Worlds
Fanmade Spocklaan poster inspired by the news that we'll get a Hollywood murder mystery in season 3. I really hope it'll be a noir episode.

i'm sorry, but internalized misogyny in star trek fandom is insane.
yes, i feel bad for spock, his heart was broken in 2x09! but for god's sake! he intentionally pressured christine to talk about the topic that she was clearly uncomfortable discussing in front of others so that she would actually lose control and involuntarily bare her emotions! this is not cute baby boy behavior at all!
at that's okay! our beloved characters are allowed to have flaws! what is not okay is acting as if christine is a cold bitch when she was literally forced to reveal her feelings/thoughts the way she did!
the only thing christine did wrong was not telling spock sooner, but please remember that it was only a few hours between christine finding out about the fellowship and spock confronting her about it. erica found out with christine about it and christine celebrating with erica and sam was spontaneous, it wasn't planned, since christine said that it was not the time for celebrations!
and christine's song was mostly about how happy she was for being validated academically and professionally, it wasn't about her not caring about spock! she only said that if she had to leave him for her future, she wouldn't fight it!
+ remember that christine had been hurting ever since she was told that she was nothing to spock in the future and then she had her war trauma triggered in the worst way possible! considering all of this, spock should have been more patient, instead of forcing her into opening up in the name of an experiment, imo!
like, i'm begging you all, don't turn snw fandom into this misogyny-infested media-illiterate dump that a lot of fandoms turn into, please let's not ruin it here!!!
