I used the SSILD Technique last night and this is how it went...
I was using the SSILD technique to make sure if it's really that good of an technique of if it's one of those methods everyone seems to hype up. I had no concrete assumptions for the method and just did as I was told in an informative post I've reblogged yesterday.
HOW IT WENT
After waking up 2-3 hours from my alarm I almost forgot to do the circles but luckily I wrote myself a reminder right next to the alarm clock I had. Tired as I was I performed it 2-3 times only - therefore less than it was intended - but for 15-30 minutes for each step in total. Then I immediately went back to sleep, affirming that I'm going to lucid dream.
And it pretty much worked?? I had a VERY vivid dream about me beefing around with the Winx Club Members and somehow Roxy turning into somone evil?😭 (I was on a small season 4 rewatch) - I can still remember like 90% of the dream and even some exact dialog she or other characters said. Sadly I was so focused on the dream itself it didn't even came to my mind to just -well tap into the void.
Tonight, I'm going to do the same with some modifications (more + shorter circles, listening to my affirmation tape, etc.) and see what happens!

I wasn’t going to make a post abt this since I've talked extensively about it in my lucid dreaming guide. But If you're someone who appreciates structure and methodical approaches, I can't recommend the SSILD method enough.
SSILD stands for Senses Initiated Lucid Dream. It's a type of WBTB (Wake Back To Bed) method, known for its effectiveness and speed. With consistency, (in my experience) it won't take more than a week to experience your first lucid dream using this technique.
I remember my initial days practicing the SSILD method. On the very first day, even though I didn't achieve a full lucid dream, I was introduced to a myriad of new experiences. I encountered false awakenings, entered a hypnagogic state, and had a sense of semi-awareness. These experiences were new and fascinating at the time. And lo and behold, just three days later, I had my first lucid dream.
The SSILD method is particularly motivating, especially if you feel like you've hit a wall with your current lucid dreaming practices. It offers fresh experiences and quick results, which is really motivating.
So, for those stuck in their lucid dreaming journey, or those looking for a reliable method to start with, give the SSILD method a try. It was a game-changer for me, and I hope it works wonders for you too.
Read this post for more detail. And also read the Reddit post.

🅴🅰🆂🅸🅴🆁 🆆🅰🆈 🆃🅾 🆃🅰🅿 🅸🅽 🆃🅷🅴 🆅🅾🅸🅳 🆂🆃🅰🆃🅴?
Tumblr media
Hey y'all !!💗
Soo i wanted to talk about a method... originally a lucid dreaming technique that i tried few weeks ago and it includes disturbing your sleep cycle soo do it when you don't have to work the next day! This method is called SSILD Technique...I am not the creator of this method and idk if anyone have talked about it earlier here if yes then please let me know I'll love to give credit to them. I can't do this method cause once i wake up it takes me about an hour to fall back asleep 😭 and in this method we have to fall asleep as soon as we can...soo let's dive into the method!♡´・ᴗ・`♡
THE SSILD TECHNIQUE
This method includes 3 cycles that we have to perform-
First cycle:- focus upon the darkness behind your closed eyelids, don't strain your eyes and don't try to see something even if it's just dark.. focus on it.
Second cycle:- focus on what you hear...it can be the sound you hear within your body or the outside noise like the fan.
Third cycle:- focus on what you feel ...it can be tingling sensation that you feel within your body or the weight of your blanket, your clothes
Soo now you know the cycles let's dive into how to use them! Combine this method with wbtb(waking up in the middle of the night preferably 2 hrs before you actually wake up ...or after 4 hrs of sleep. Do not do this method before sleeping as this includes rem sleep soo it won't work before going to bed).
Wake up in your rem sleep do something for 5 to 10 mins just don't wake yourself up be in that sleepy state
Once you ready lay down in a position in which you usually don't fall asleep and set the intention to enter the void or to lucid dream.
Time to perform the cycles!
First you'll perform the cycles fast (4-5 seconds) ....4-5 times.
Then take time and perform the cycles slowly (shouldn't take less then 30 seconds) ....3-4 times.
Then lay in your comfortable position and fall asleep as soon as you can don't think about void or anything coz that's gonna wake you up!...the earlier you sleep the more are the chances of this technique to work!
Now that you've done your part there are chances three things can happen
You can end up in a lucid dream....you can enter void through that easily
You can have a false awakening. It means you'll wake up do your stuff only to realise that it was actually a dream...soo don't forget to do a Reality check as soon as you wake up. It may all be a dream that feels so real😉
You just wake up... don't get discouraged this time just perform the slow cycles again and fall asleep quickly.
Now to enter the void setting intention before performing the cycles is enough if not then you'll end up in a lucid dream and from there void is so easy peezyy🥱
I am providing the actual link of this method if anyone's curious to read about it and you don't have to read other posts about it.
My experience with this method!?
I swear by this method...i tried it just once few weeks ago and had a false awakening i did this method with zero expectations. And few nights ago i suddenly remembered this method and i was like tf it's soo easy and so effective why not use this but unfortunately as i told above I can't sleep easily soo i thought of sharing this method with you guyss! I promise if you are gonna do this for a week infact week is more than enough... you'll gonna tap into void soon.
Hope y'all like this method and i urge you to try this once!💗
-love, bee💗

𝐕𝐈𝐗𝐄𝐍’𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐋𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐅𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃 ★
Hello fellow mortals. You can call me Vixen. I have been lurking around Tumblr for quite some time now and I have decided to finally share with all of you my method for shifting. Just a little backstory of me, I have been shifting for quite awhile now and after trying out countless of methods, I have finally made something that works for me constantly. Keep in mind that this might not work on the first try for some but with enough practice, one could successfully shift in about a week or so.
This method could be used for other things such as getting into a lucid dream, astral projection, manifesting, remote viewing and whatever other shenanigans you could think of.
So you might be thinking, what is the secret to my easy shifts? The answer is:
“Hypnagogia”
It might be a familiar term to some, and to others, probably not so familiar. I wouldn’t want to waste my time explaining it since this post is dedicated to my method so if you are interested, I might or might not make a post that explains on this phenomenon in detail. Just keep in mind that this is a ‘half-awake’ state method that if utilised correctly, you could reap its benefits.
Tumblr media
Steps to my method:
1. Hypnagogia can be induced at any stages of your sleep. However in my case, I would simply carry out ‘wake back to bed’ technique. What I would do is to sleep for about 4-6 hours before waking up to carry out this method.
2. Once done and awake, you do not want to wake up too much. I would usually go to the washroom and head back to bed. What you will have to do now is to do this technique that is quite well known in the lucid dreaming community called the SSILD technique.
3. Now that you are laying on your bed, start to carry out the long ‘Cycle’ for as long as you want to. The key here is for you to fully relax yourself, as if you are about to fall asleep. After cycling the steps that I have linked above, you will be hit with a strong wave of Hypnagogia.
4. Don’t be alarm. This is just the normal process what you would experience when you fall asleep, but this time, you being completely aware. As you are being sucked into Hypnagogia, the next step is on you. Affirm, visualise, whatever floats your boat at the moment.
5. That should be it. With whatever state/shift that you have decided to get into, you should already be in it by the end of this method.
Tumblr media
Ending notes
It is quite simple and it shouldn’t be that difficult to get in with enough practice. Getting into Hypnagogia might be easy but maintaining and getting sucked into it is a different thing so what I would suggest is for you to continue to do the ‘Cycle’ up until you are being bombarded by these hypnagogic hallucinations before implementing your next step of choice.
I am open to answer questions about shifting, manifesting or about this method so don’t be shy to comment down below. Other questions that does not deem as useful to others or me would likely be ignored. Until we meet again.
~ Vixen 🖤

I looked up and read SSILD lucid method but I still don't understand it properly 😭
No worries! It is a really simple technique but I think the explanations are overcomplicated.
Like many lucid dream techniques, this is a WBTB method (wake back to bed - done after you’ve had 4-6 hrs of sleep). After you wake up, use the bathroom or whatever, go back to bed, get comfortable. There are no restrictions about position, not moving, or anything like that.
You will be focusing on 3 of your senses in a cycle. Just put your attention on that one sense before moving on to the next, don’t try to force anything, just observe.
Eyes: look at the darkness behind your eyes. You might start to see patterns, colors, fractals. They’re called hypnogogic imagery. Don’t try to follow the patterns, just relax your eyes and notice them.
Ears: tune in to your sense of hearing. Listen for any internal sounds like ringing in your ears or your heartbeat.
Body: feel your body as a whole, notice any sensations of lightness, tingling or other subtle energetic sensations.
They suggest 4-6 fast cycles followed by 3-4 slower cycles. Based on a suggestion from a Redditor, I like to count up while doing it, in increasing amounts. So for example, the first set count to 5 for each sense: 5 seconds for eyes, 5 seconds for ears, 5 seconds for body. Then increase the time for each, so it’s like 10-10-10, 15-15-15, 20-20-20 and so on.
You can do it until you fall asleep, or once you hit a few longer cycles (30+ seconds) you can stop and go right to sleep.
That’s all there is to it!

how did you start lucid dreaming? like which technique (if any), did you follow? like WBTB, MILD, SSILD, reality checks etc.
I started with reality checks and MILD! I also paid a lot of attention to recurring dream symbols and that's actually how I went lucid the first time. Personally, I'm not a fan of waking up to do a method so I've never done the wbtb or ssild methods for lucid dreaming.
For reality checks, I mostly did the finger through palm check, counting fingers check, and reading words/numbers check!

Findings From the International Lucid Dream Induction Study
Findings From the International Lucid Dream Induction Study
The International Lucid Dream Induction Study (ILDIS) investigated and compared the effectiveness of five different combinations of lucid dream induction techniques including reality testing (RT), Wake Back to Bed (WBTB), the Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD) technique, the Senses Initiated Lucid Dream (SSILD) technique, and a hybrid technique combining elements of both MILD and SSILD.…

I want to share a technique for the void! I don't remember what it's called but it works wonders.
It's called the sslid method for lucid dreaming in case anyone wants to do more research on it!
Ahh tysm , I was tryna find the name for it ♡. Your a life saver :^).
Ok, guys so I researched the method soon as I saw this ask and came across this entire guide on it. I'll copy and paste it here, so everyone can see<3.
Link to the original post
SSILD (Senses Initiated Lucid Dream) lucid dream technique :
" SSILD is a modern lucid dreaming technique. It is easy to learn, highly effective, and produces consistent results over period. I developed this technique in 2011 in order to teach lucid dreaming to fellow dreamers on a Chinese forum. The first written version of the technique was published under the title “太玄功”, which literally translates to “A Very Mysterious Technique”. This is rather fitting because at the time no one had the faintest idea why it worked. Despite this lack of theory, the feedback on the technique was overwhelmingly positive. Within just a few months we gathered many hundreds of success stories"
The core component of SSILD is called a “Cycle”. Each cycle consists three steps:
Focus on Sight: Close your eyes and pay attention to the darkness behind your closed eyelids. Don’t strain your eye muscles though. Your eyeballs should be resting, totally relaxed. If you don’t see anything that’s only normal. Do not attempt to spot visuals by moving your eyes around.
Focus on Hearing: Further relax your eyes and shift your attention to your ears. If the room is quiet enough you might be able to hear some noise inside your head or the sound of your heartbeat. However, if you can’t hear anything it is okay to listen to external sounds too
Focus on Somesthetic Senses (Touch): Direct your attention to your body. Feel it and see if you spot any unusual sensations such as tingling, heaviness, lightness, spinning sensations, and so on. If nothing like these can be felt, you can also try to feel the weight of the blanket, your heartbeat, temperature of the air, etc.
The repeated stimulation on the senses enables SSILD to condition our mind and body into a subtle state that is optimized for lucid dream to occur naturally. We should keep this in mind so we don’t make the common mistake of “trying too hard” during the cycles. Beginners usually want to see things, hear things, and feel things. When nothing unusual happens they become discouraged or even desperate. Avoid this mistake at all cost! One should not expect to experience anything phenomenal during the Cycle. In fact, it is better to expect NOTHING at all will happen.
The Steps :
Go to bed early, preferably before 11pm. Set your alarm to wake up after 4 or 5 hours.
Get out of bed and stay awake for 5-10 minutes. I suggest you visit the bathroom, rinse your mouth, and walk around or stretch a little bit. Try not to become too awake though.
Return to bed and lie down in a comfortable position, preferably different from the one you usually use. This is to prevent you from falling into sleep prematurely. However, if you are the type of person who requires extra effort to fall asleep, you may want to use the usual position instead.
Perform the “Cycle” quickly, repeat 4-6 times. This serves as a warm-up exercise so each step should be very short, a few seconds should be sufficient.
Perform the “Cycle” slowly, repeat 3-4 times. This step is the most important one. You should take extra time during each step. Thanks to step 4, at this point you should have become sufficiently relaxed and you will find focusing on the senses become much easier. For example, your eyes will feel more relaxed, and you may get visuals such as lights, colors, or movements. You might also notice that the external sounds seem to be fading into the background. Do not get excited though. You should observe quietly and after a while move on to other senses. As far as timing goes we are flexible, but in general each step should take no fewer than 30 seconds.

I can't wake up after 6 hrs because my sibling sleeps with me 😭. Soo I'm just going to set an intention that when I fall asleep and dream I'm going to realise I'm dreaming. And then I'm going to do the square breathing technique before bed. And then when I wake up I'm going to do SSILD or FILD.. which one do you suggest?
Sounds good, intention alone can be enough to have one. You could do either one or both (and if you sent the other ask about how to combine them, I’ll just answer that here too). You can do the SSILD cycle, finish it and then as you’re drifting off, do the finger wiggling. FILD is done while you’re falling asleep. SSILD doesn’t have to be done while you’re falling asleep, just before you’re falling asleep. If that makes sense!

I heard FILD works for everyone? Or mostly for everyone?..
Everybody wants to say their method is powerful and works for everyone lol. You just gotta find what works for you. FILD and SSILD are both similar as they use your senses - FILD uses the sensation of the movement of your fingers, SSILD is tapping into your other senses. Pick one or do both, it really doesn’t matter. They’re both such quick and easy techniques it’s not worth obsessing over the details.

doing the phase method combined with the SSILD technique would be highly effective and most likely get you a lucid dream on the 1st try.
I'm going to do that and also I'm going to listen to a powerful lucid dreaming sub for around 30 mins.
Yeah sounds good! I want to get back on track and try it too. I just made myself a sub to play overnight that’s like a combo of healthy sleep cycle + lucid dreaming + overnight manifestation

I'm thinking the phase method. I don't need an alarms since I wake up. Once I wake up after 6 hrs I set an intention for eg when I fall back asleep I'll luicd dream ((do I repeat this until I fall asleep?)) And then when I wake up I perform a separation technique as soon as I can like for eg affirming for my desires or like affirming I'm in a lucid dream is like a separation technique?
So basically if you wake up after 6 hrs and go back to sleep affirming to lucid dream, you can do it repeatedly until you fall asleep (like lullaby method) or just a few times. Often that will be enough for you to have a lucid dream. If you don’t, then next time you wake up, try to remain still and do a technique like affirming for lucid dreams (you can also directly affirm for void), or looking at the hypnogogic images behind your eyes, or you could do FILD or SSILD during this time (or the first time too) which can all pull you into a lucid dream.
I don’t really like his term “separation” because it evolved from the theory that we are separating our soul/spirit from our bodies. We’re not doing that when we dream/shift/manifest, we’re just changing our awareness.

Note
so when I wake up after 6 hrs do I do SSILD a my separation technique? Orr do I do it when I wake up again so my 2nd' awakening'?
The idea is to do it as you’re falling asleep again. So if you wake up and want to go right back to sleep without getting up, do it then. If you want to get up and use the bathroom or something, then do it after you go back to bed.
