Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
"We are whoever we choose to be. And I have chosen to be the one who takes things away from you — if only out of obligation. You know how it is."

Came up with some twist-villain!Dedf1sh level music. We don't yet know what to make of Acht and Marina's shared history, so I'm envisioning some kind of self-imposed grudge tempered by her own morbid curiosity.
The reason Dedf1sh allowed herself to be ensnared by Tartar was because of Acht's desire to hone her music-making craft, right? If this process took place after Marina heard the Calamari Inkantation, then those two events could be linked.
If music can reformat the minds of a thousand soldiers and compel a dear friend to leave it all behind; to leave me behind... then what else can music do? How can I harness that power to my own ends? What if I could make the Inkantation my bitch?
Acht Mizuta may have perished down there in the Deepsea Metro, but her sense of purpose did not.
A while ago I made a post where I shared my rip of the Splatoon 3 OST, and I decided to also upload rips off all the Splatoon CD’s that were released in Japan, which I just finished!
You can download it here from this Drive
In addtion to the rip of Splatoon 3′s OST, that’s CD rips of Splatune, Splatune 2, Octotune, Splatoon Live in Makuhari and Splatoon 2 Live in Makuhari.
These rips have all been uploaded as flacs, so you’ll get the highest possible quality from how the music is found in the game files or on the CD.
I also tagged all of the music and added the respective cover art so it looks neat as well! I also went back to the Splatoon 3 OST upload to add tags and improve the order of the tracks for the Hero Mode music.
Splatune had already been tagged by @kerfuzzle_ who later recommended the Metatogger software to me, which is a super neat tool to tag music. I went and tagged the rest of the albums, and added the composers to Splatune.

I've tried my best to emphasize over the course of this blog just how big of an event the King for Another Day tournament was - its effectively the main reason why Season 4 got extended into two years rather than the standard one. Its easy to see why the event is so fondly remembered and its sheer scope will likely never be surpassed, which is likely also why we've gotten plenty of regular rips paying tribute to it in simple ways.
OtH Was Robbed is a pretty simple rip, all things considered - it melodyswaps the instantly-identifiable lead synth instrument used all over in Sonic Forces' soundtrack, including here in Sunset Heights, to the tune of Ink me Up from Splatoon. Its a pretty good fit, and the two types of electronic pop mesh together in a really satisfying way, especially given Sunset Height's backing instrumentation is left unchanged. The title of the rip references the representative of Splatoon music within KFaD2 - Off the Hook ft. Paruko - and the full payoff of that is received little under a minute in, as the melody changes to BE THE KING from KFaD2. It slots in right where the "drop" occurs in the original song, and thus connects the dots perfectly - the rush of serotonin going from jammin' Splatoon music to one of the SiIva channel's most enduring original compositions is simply indescribable. Then just as a cherry on top, the rip pulls a classic bait-and-switch with the first few notes of The Funny Flintstones before a brief sucker punch, then looping.
All in all - its classic SiIva stuff! A great-sounding melodyswap, solid theming throughout, all on-key and a treat to the ears. But I love that its enhanced so much from the period it was released in - in that right period when we were all still so overjoyed with how KFaD2 shaped up, how much we'd celebrated the year prior over the winners and more, and how fun Season 5 was shaping up to be. A dose of KFaD2...nostalgia, I suppose, hit just right, and I still get that hit even today.
So I'm sitting here listening to a Unova lofi mix when it gets to the theme for Driftveil city. I don't know what part it is in the actual song (pretty sure it's the chorus, tho), but you can hear another song from one of Nintendos' other games ( Calamari Inkantaion from splatoon) I don't care if this is just a neat little coincidence, it's been bugging me. I need others to know.
(FYI, it is a slower version of the base song.. it is a lofi Playlist)
The King Salmonid who all Fish Sticks aspire to be. The first Griller to surpass their mortal coils and ascend to a state far more... eldritch. A grotesque autonomous collective and yet a ruler in its own right. The aquatic roi des rats of the whirlpool's roil, whose name shall not be uttered. The worlds worst maypole by far, 0/10.
And yet there are sea creatures far worse, and far scarier, out in the unknown depths... beyond the splendour of the tempest; the sandbank’s luring smile. Encircled by flopping hordes of mindless and amorphous dancers, lulled amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
I started ripping some of the games music I liked for myself but decided to do the enitre OST since honestly every track is a banger and I almost ripped the entire thing anyways at this point lol
I uploaded all of it on my Google Drive now so feel free to download!
For the procedure, I converted the in-game audio to wav which I then amplified as much as possible without clipping, since the audio is very low in the original files. For multichannel audio files I edited them into seperate tracks or mixed them together.
For example: The Hero Mode level music has 2 stereo channels for the main music and another 2 for the beat that gets added when enemies have spotted you. I edited so that the beat starts playing in the second loop of the music.
I exported the final edits as flac, so this should be the highest possible quality for the games music
Also, I split the music up into sections like Hero Mode, Multiplayer and Salmon Run music, since there is just so much and I wanted to make it easier to browse through. For some music that isn’t named yet I added descriptors in parentheses in the file names like (Bang Bang) for that one Hero Mode track you probably already know which one I’m talking about. These descriptors are not in the original file names in the game data, I made them up so it’s easier to remember which of the unnamed tracks is which.
