“Since you have done so much for me, surely there is something I can do in return? It is, after all, the righteous path. Hah.” The wandering spirit speaks to the even kinder akana. 

With shining eyes, you stare up at him. “Anything you ask. If it is within my power, I will gladly provide.” His tone is low. It is a response worthy enough to elicit the more playful energy of the little demon. 

A grin made its way to your fanged teeth: “Kiss me on the mouth like you mean it!” 

It’s only then, with widened eyes and parted lips, was Yone lost for words… Trying to recompose himself, “Oh! That is. Well. I mean,”

You reveled in his hopelessness, in his flustered nature, “On the…? I suppose I did offer. Not to assume, if you didn’t…” Shoulders tensing, Yone took a step forward. 

He brought a hand up to clear his throat. Was the air suddenly getting drier? “Ahem,” He lean in towards the deviant spirit’s face, “Breathe a word of this to no one…”

The low murmur of his voice sent shivers down your spine, batting your lashes with soon-to-shut eyes… 

Though, your expectations were diminished when you felt his breath against your… cheek? 

Yone gently kissed your cheek, careful to not bump his forehead against the horns atop your head upon leaning in. 

He then quickly returns to the dignified pose of a warrior. 

He is blushing intensely.

“The… erm… the cheek is the mouth of the soul?” Not cool, Yone… The inner struggle he had with his own thoughts, cut short, “…Neat.” You whispered, Yone tempted to reach a hand forward to feel your presence once more. 

But he was a man of honor, finding a small piece of himself at a crossroads for being so friendly with the enemy. 

“Do we really have to part so soon?” He asks himself.

“Perhaps…” He abruptly proposes, before you could even think of leaving.

“If you don’t mind… We can enjoy each other’s company here. For just a moment. I know we cannot dwell here forever… But this moment. We can treasure it together. May it help you find clarity on the road ahead. And perhaps some comfort, in all the years to come.”

If it meant this was the last time they would ever see each other again, who were you to deny the offer? 

As quick as Yone proposed an option, you were quick to agree. 

You sat beside Yone, enjoying the tranquility of your final moment together.
