My audhd brain won't stop telling me to do a full breakdown of the parallels between Percy and Hobie so i will.Alright,let's do this one last time!

Gwen is the Hazel to Hobie's Percy.She's a younger trans girl with a ghost motif who's a pastel ray of sunshine and runs her mouth as much as they do and has a dead mom,an abusive corrupted figure dad and their own impressive experiences in heroism before meeting them

Nico is another teen Ghostkid who Percy gifted a Ramones shirt and gave shelter to multiple times when he was homeless because Hades/Pluto is as much of a fucking cunt as George Stacy is.Nico is also a Miles kinnie because he's an optimistic softboy who's nerdy,a fast food lover and a lot stronger than he gives himself credit for and Percy is the big brother mentor to him the fandom thinks Hobie is to Miles(Nah fr Hobie and Miles are ambigious but Percy's canonically a grown ass man and Nico's Miles' age,P*rcicos pack it up and get over that your ship only works for transfem Percy proof)

Karl=Jason(the cooler St*ve R*gers,the actual voice of reason on the team but just as unhinged as the rest of them,very nice guy vibes and Hobie's righthand),Riri=Annabeth(Black girl genius who takes no shit but is still written as a person instead of a stereotype)and Mattea=Clarisse(red-coded,rowdy tomboy and war paint)

Mayday and Margo are basically just Estelle and Rachel,Jessica makes a pretty convincing Sally and Miguel reminds me of Poseidon but especially when he's interacting with Hobie

Sarcastic troublemaker smiles i've always found endearing(Rip to Annabeth but i'm different)(Also for Hobie i mean this platonically)

Immaculate rizz that's mostly unintentional but reaches critical levels when on purpose

Cocky asf and self-loathing at the same time

That one scene of Hobie leaving Gwen a Watch with the 'In case it don't work out' note with a lil doodle of him on it after getting her dad's ass/Percy sending the Olympians Medusa's head in a box after slaying her with a note saying 'Best wishes' to spite them

Goofy ahh who are nonetheless taken seriously cause Watch Out

They even both have terrible singing voices

And technically not the same thing but Hobie's also pink-coded so they're cotton candy colors and with Percy's white streak they can be the trans flag too!!

I think it's so funny that movie hobie hates labels while comics hobie gives everything spider themed names (despite what his friends say)

He's got the spiderbase (kinda self explanatory? The base he and his friends work out of), spiderband (that's just him and his bros), spidervan, and spidermutt (his symbiote dog)

What a fantastic day to remind everyone that the Spiderman that is just like Percy Jackson isn't Peter Parker but Hobie Brown because he:

Is 6'something with longer than average hair for a dude,considered so attractive it's shocking(Hazel literally thought Percy was a roman god on first sight)and has the perfect hands for a guitarist on top of already being a punk rock fan(as stated for Percy in Toa)

Hobie is easily the most Percy Jackson-coded Spiderperson.He's got the Percy HumorTM and the expressions are either intimdating or goofy asf thing,he goes by a nickname because his full name is lame sounding,he's widely regarded as the coolest ever in-universe and rightfully so but is a huge dork when you get down to do it yet that somehow makes him even cooler and he seems chill and is for the most part but a lot of shit he's done to his enemies is NOT appropriately rated for being pg.His childhood was beyond fucked up so when he got older he turned into a Team Parent to younger heroes and is also the most experienced one in the main cast which is a big reason they look up to him in addition to how kind and caring he is to them and he thinks he's not good enough to be a role model yet he makes them better at world saving than way older people have.He's described as so attractive it's shocking(and i can see where it's coming from platonically)and he's a trans femme who only comes across as masc to normies and he dresses punk to match his personality and record like Percy would if the mc ball wasn't dropped for so long.He's got a pet supernatural dog(Spidermutt),he's autistic,he listens to rock and metal and he even took in a younger girl who's pastel,has a ghost motif and a significant amount of heroism under her belt pre-meeting him and the circumstances that brought them together was the most traumatic event in her life and they became found siblings with them mutually helping eachother heal from trauma.We need to let go of the Peter Parker allegations because the Percy Jackson variant title rightfully belongs to Hobie and i mean yeah Hobie's british and Percy's obsessed with NY but Harry Potter's british too and they were a whole ass entire genre of crossover the two of them alone and there's no evidence for Percy wanting to be a cop and a sellout but there is for him being black if you go only by the books and therefore Hobie's already like Percy by being a black guy with wicks so i'm RIGHT

Gonna be petty for a minute and complain about the fact that the ONE Bluepunk(Percy and Hobie,platonic)post not by me said Hobie would be friends with Percy because Percy is a skater boy

I am so sick and tired of the skater boy allegations against Percy because 1.She's transfem-coded and hates masculinity and most men in-text and 2.Even if not to his level,she is a legit anarchist like Hobie is!!!She's anti-authority because she grew up facing nonstop ableist and classist bullying and to a lesser extent emasculation from her tormenters too and had an abusive stepdad,she hates richness as a concept and billionaries personally(Rachel dosen't count,she makes it clear she wants to destroy her dad's company when she gets older + It's implied Percy joined her at protests and charities),she's been a beater of bullies of ALL SIZES including fucking gods????Which is kinda the whole plot of series?and she even did the same thing for Nico and Hazel Hobie did for Gwen and Miles by providing shelter and care for an abused queer minor + 'I see a black kid in trouble and i'm gonna help them out' typa of beat and she's a real friend to them too instead of treating them as tokens.Do i even to remind y'all of how hyperpopular afrolatino Percy was and still rightfully is because like with her being a tgirl,there's so much subtext in the books it makes way more sense than her being white and also like it it's pretty much universal approved by the irl group

Sigh.Yeah,they'd be instant best friends and close enough to see eachother as family but Not Like That.Hobie probs thinks Avril is a loser in canon and Percy never brought her up in the books but she DID give Nico a Ramones shirt as a gift and has 'I am impertinent' and 'The sea does not like to be restrained' to Hobie's 'I hate the a.m,i hate the p.m,i hate labels' and 'I don't believe in consistency' and you can shove in a joke of Percy wanting blue laces for a Secret ReasonTM she won't tell and Hobie is giving big time mama's boy and has adultification trauma as a core aspect of his character.Percy makes blue food for Hobie and teaches him to do black glamrock looks like hers.Hobie diy's personalized blue beads for Percy and teaches her how to play the guitar.They shit talk posers together and she goes to his shows and they play video games on her emulator and go to the beach every other saturday and she visists his dimension on the regular to get a taste of Tartarus again and he gets a celestial bronze AND mystical morganite sword that disguises itself as a guitar with a stygian iron and Mrs O'Leary and Spidermutt have playdates and Percy and Hobie are afro-dominican/jamaican/caribbean solidarity

Yeah okay i'm good now but also sidenote Sk8ter Boi qualifies as more of a sexyman than The Onceler at this point,WHERE IS THE GRIP COMING FROM,IT'S BEEN OVER 20 YEARS??????Anyway i love Hobie and his hot older sister
