Got reminded of Snowkit and wanted to draw him along with an adult ver. For if he survived!

I think that if he'd survived, he absolutely would've called out Brambleclaw's behavior and defended Squirrelflight in Squirrelflight's Hope. I think he'd also be an amazing advocate for later born deaf cats, and would teach anyone Cat Sign Language if they wished.

Speckletail would also absolutely still be a bit protective but I think over time she'd learn to let him move onto his own path and would watch proudly as he grows into an amazing warrior ( ALSO IM SORRY I GAVE HER GREEN EYES I FORGOT THEY WERE AMBER AND WAS GOING OFF MEMORY. I ORIGINALLY EVEN CALLED HER SPECKLEPELT 😭😭😭)

Also I based him off the Light Fury from HTTYD shapewise and I have no explanation further than "I wanted to." :]

I originally made the gray patches have stripes going thru them, but I realized it made it too busy and hard to replicate if I drew her again sooo I simplified it a bit! Tortie Speckle for the win!!! I mean, she has tortitude, it just makes since.

Character Summary:

Surprising a lot of cats, Speckle chose to be a caretaker rather than a warrior. Most expected her to be a warrior, she's feisty, and quick to start a fight and snap at others, she could hold herself well in a battle as well. However, it turns out that while Speckle was easily annoyed by the adults of the Order, she LOVED kits and wanted to spend her days caring for them.

Speckle is great with kits and loves helping to raise them, and that is much of what she does as a Caretaker. Though in her younger years she was also rather strong and often helped out with building and heavy lifting projects as well.

Speckle never took a mate, but she wanted kits, and so did her close friend Star Sunfall and his mate Tawnyspots, so Speckle and the two toms decided to coparent a litter together! Goldenflower and Lionheart were the product and are both biologically Sunfall's.

In her old age, Speckle refuses to retire, as she is determined to keep working for as long as possible. Her littermate Fogtalon retired much earlier than Speckle, while Speckle continues to stay in the nursery. A part of this is due to her kits both having their own litters, and Speck wanting to help care for her grandkits.

Speckle is not the mother of Snow and Thistle like in canon, their parents are Littleleaf and Dustpelt!

my current snowkit headcanon that im workshopping is he was snatched by a hawk, however the hawk nested in a twoleg backyard, and the twoleg heard snowkit's desperate meowing and rescued him. he became a kittypet and his twoleg named him Lucky for how fortunate it was that he was able to survive being in a hawk's nest. he becomes friends with the twolegs other cat Zack, one of cloudtail's littermates, whose father oliver was deaf. zack teaches cat sign language to lucky and they become like littermates. Then, later on, after the destruction of the forest, lucky and zack are adventuring in what used to be the forest territories where they meet speckletail, who stayed behind from the great journey with other elders, and she is beyond overjoyed to be reunited with her son who she'd thought was dead for so long. Lucky and Zack invite Speckletail to live with them and she does and they r all happy yippe :)

legitimately it fucking sucks so much that warrior cats is so misogynistic bc there are so many interesting women in the series that just get shoved off to the side. i'm tired of reading about brambleclaw and male firekin. where's my story about mothwing watching as her brother is haunted by their biodad, a ghost she cannot fathom even existing? where's my story about tawnypelt following her father into a new clan, only for him to disregard her in favor of her brothers (one who's in a completely different clan, and the other who wants nothing to do with him?)? where's my story about ashfoot, who survives windclan's temporary exile and watches as her only son is selected for the great journey, then to later watch him be an awful husband and father when she raised him with so much love after she lost all her other kits and didn't even have deadfoot there to raise him? where's my story about goldenflower, who's entire family is torn apart by the one man she thought would love her forever? where's my story about lizardstripe, who was demonized for not wanting kits and forced to have them anyway? where's my story about frostfur that explores her conflicting feelings about yellowfang? where's my story about speckletail, where she loses her youngest son in such a brutal way, and watches as barely anyone around her even cares that he's gone just because he was deaf? where? where?
