Known as the Hammer of Eternity, the Sicaran Battle Tank VIII-XXII-XVI was one of several armoured vehicles which defected to the loyalists during the Siege of Terra. Unlike most, this was not thanks to any residual loyalty among its astartes compliment. With its crew among the foremost members of the lodges within the Emperor's Children, their ecstasy in combat drove them to find ever greater challenges. This resulted in a direct engagement with an allied contingent of Iron Warriors, who promptly slew the rogue tank's crewmen in a succession of melta blasts. Abandoning the vehicle to its fate, the Iron Warriors moved on. This allowed the vehicle's uncorrupted machine spirit to regain control of the tank. Over the course of the following months, the Hammer ambushed and destroyed enemy armoured elements in a series of hit-and-fade attacks. Disguising itself as a wreck and with its regal colours smeared with blood, the traitors were frequently unable to register the Hammer as an active threat until it opened fire. The Hammer was thought to have earned itself more than twenty kills against enemy tanks during this conflict.
The Hammer's efforts were brought to an abrupt end during the battle of the Eternity Gate, in which it was destroyed by indirect fire from the Imperial Palace's artillery emplacements. The vehicle's hollow and warped hull would stand as a monument amid the carnage until the final days of the Siege.
A bit of lore on a tank I (mostly) painted for a friend. I was particularly proud of this one, though someone else airbrushed the purple segments of its design. It's a rare balance between the more regal qualities of the Emperor's Children and the gritter dirt-covered designs which would be expected of a tank in the middle of a war zone. As beautiful as their pre-heresy colours are, they all too often look as if they are prepared for parade duty over storming enemy emplacements.

One of several dreadnoughts painted up and made for an army which never went anywhere, this was something I used as an experiment. Despite lacking highlighting and finer details, a major failing in my eyes, the pain job still has a few benefits to it. For all the flaws that I see from years back present in this model, there are a number of techniques that I developed while making it. In that regard, I can still look on this one with some degree of pride, even if it could be better.
Also, I don't have any real lore on this one, but I kept meaning to call him something along the lines of "Rahab the Eternal" or the like.
