Tess' Sharpuary - 9. Portrait
It's 1938, and sleep is evading Aesop. Difficult times are coming, and he can't help being worried for his family.
chapter specific tags: small angst, anxiety, comfort
relationships: aesop sharp x reader, aesop sharp & aesop's children
a/n: today I give you - aged up and bespeckled aesop. aged like a fine wine in my opinion 😁

9. Portrait (1.1k)
tw: mentions of ww2
Aesop Sharp, former Auror, former professor, and current shop owner, slowly walked through the hallway of his own home. It was the middle of the night, and his wife slept soundly in their bed. It was very rare for him not to be in there with her, sleeping even more soundly, snoring even (though he’d deny it), all the while keeping her nice and close in his tight embrace. It was most unusual for him to be up and about when he could instead have her warm soft body to hold.
Truth be told, he’s had trouble sleeping lately. His beloved homeland was on the brink of war. Again.
And while the new situation brought a few positive things, like his daughter Magdala coming back with her husband and children to live in England, not wanting to be separated from them for years on end once more, it brought a lot of negatives as well. Those who thought the Great War was the worst thing to have ever befallen and would ever befall England were now positively terrified.
From what the elder wizard knew, Muggles invented and developed so many wonderful things in the past twenty years, and he was once more convinced that Muggles could achieve anything they set their minds on even without magic. This conviction was further reinforced by Evelyn, his daughter-in-law, who, despite being a Muggle, had an amazingly brilliant head on her shoulders.
On the other hand, Muggles invented some fairly terrifying things as well... If his sources were correct, nobody would be truly safe, Muggles or wizards, and Aesop was terrified for his large family. He knew the chances of anything happening to himself and his wife were fairly slim since both of them lived so far in the Scottish countryside, but he worried a lot for his two sons and their families. Theodore lived with his wife and small son in London, and Eleazar and Evie worked in their shop in Diagon Alley every day. He had no doubt that if there was a war to come, London would be a number one target for enemy pilots.
He and his wife talked about it fairly often, after every bit of news that could be heard on the wireless. They were ready to accept their children with their families as guests if need be, they were completely prepared to keep them safe with them, and shelter them, even though all of them were grown, capable adults with their own children. They’d make it work - they could maybe try to make the rooms larger, or even make use of the magically enhanced treehouse his children would play in when they were young. They’d have to make it work, so that everyone was safe…
All these thoughts were running wild in his head as he observed the many, many, many picture frames with photographs and portraits they kept in the hallway. From ones that were now over 80 years old, such as his parents’ wedding picture, to photographs as new as a week old.
He smiled as his eyes took in every single one of them as they had done so many times before.
Portrait photograph of him the day he became a fully-fledged Auror, smiling confidently at the camera, flashing his teeth in a grin. He and Ashley on his 28th Birthday, ounging about in the Leaky cauldron, each with a glass of Firewhisky. His own wedding photos, he and his wife looking so very happy and in love, their eyes ever so slightly red from crying out of happiness. The pictures of their children in various stages of growth. Pictures that ranged from professionally done portraits to tiny little moments forever captured in time. They were all beloved absolutely, and he and his wife had long since given up on sorting out at least a few of them.
Because of course they couldn’t! The photo of six-year-old Maggie in their bathtub, posing with a mountain of foam upon her head was very important, a photograph like this couldn’t be just hidden away! And neither could be the photo of Aesop buried in sand by the children, only his head peeking out, or Eleazar sleeping in one of his father’s cauldrons as a toddler, or Theo reading Beedle the Bard’s stories to little Natty who was ill with a cold. All of the many photographs of their grandchildren. Such small, little moments. Almost silly.  And yet, each of them built up the mosaic that was their life, making them vital to the elder wizard. And so, instead of sorting through them, and hiding some of them away in albums, the couple started working on a spell that would allow them to put multiple photographs into each frame, in a way that would have the photograph change every once in a while. It was not yet ready, but the former professor believed they were on the right path.
His hands took hold of one of the picture frames sitting on a wooden bureau. It was one of his all time favourites. A portrait of his wife sitting on a bench in their garden, just sort of watching the birds. It was the sole and only picture she was willing to take down, but Aesop straight-up refused. It was taken in July 1897 by Aesop himself, and neither of them had any idea yet that she was carrying Magdala Dinah Sharp under her heart already. Her body, however, seemed to have known, as she had a hand on her stomach, and was smiling unconsciously.
No, Aesop refused to take this one down.
It was, after all, the beginning of the madly large collection of pictures they had now.
In this one sole picture, Aesop knew, was the reason he had trouble sleeping. Some 50 years ago, he had no idea he’d ever have this much to lose. But he was absolutely not about to lose anyone to this horrible war. He was through with losing loved ones. With a newfound determination that brought upon a strange feeling of comfort, he pressed a small kiss to the picture, before putting it down and making his way back to his bedroom.
Noiselessly, he took off his dressing gown and haphazardly placed it over a dresser, deposited his glasses upon the nightstand, and carefully slid under the covers next to his beloved. He knew he woke her up, she’s always been a light sleeper. The woman turned towards him and laid her head upon her chest, her arms wrapping around his torso. He gratefully settled into her embrace, the warmth of her body seeping into his own sweetly, his own arm curling around her shoulders.
“Are you alright, my love?” she whispered into the dark room, not wanting to break the atmosphere of their peaceful night. “I am,” Aesop replied in kind, “and I’m going to do everything in my power to ensure that we all are.”
And with that, sleep finally claimed him.

Thank you so much for reading! ❤

'The Evolution of Claire' Review | By: Tom Fishenden
BE ADVISED: The following article contains spoilers for The Evolution of Claire.
Several years after Michael Crichton’s iconic Jurassic Park and The Lost World laid the foundations for the sprawling Jurassic movie verse that Universal Pictures have built, we finally get to build even more Jurassic lore in a novel format. This time, through Tess Sharpe’s The Evolution of Claire.
The Evolution of Claire falls nicely within the gap between Jurassic Park III and Jurassic World – exploring the story of a young Claire Dearing, and how she is an intern on Isla Nublar during the construction of the Jurassic World resort. The book is a fantastic deep dive into Claire’s character – explaining beautifully how the traumas and effects of a dangerous Nublar shape Claire into the cold, calculating and clinical character we meet in Jurassic World before Owen can break through her layers and reveal more of the slightly vulnerable, more sensitive character who we first meet in the beginning chapters of this novel. The Evolution of Claire does a fantastic job of really exploring Claire’s character – delving into how she behaves, and why she behaves the way we she does. Tess has done a fantastic job in working in conjunction with both Universal and Bryce Dallas Howard herself to really align the Claire in the novel with the Claire we see on screen. The novel helps add context and explanation to Claire’s actions, and helps to provide a fulfilling backstory which really compliments the Claire we see fighting sharply for animal’s rights in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
However, The Evolution of Claire doesn’t just focus solely on Claire Dearing – as much as the name may suggest otherwise. We have a whole cast of rich and diverse characters – some new, some returning – who really help to carry the story and build real, strong emotional connections with the story as it unfolds. We have Claire’s fellow interns – from the snobby, brat-like Wyatt (Whom I’m sure we can all compare to someone during our time at school), to the more desperate characters like Tanya and her twin brother Eric, who are on Isla Nublar for far more nefarious reasons. Like the Biosyn plot of the original Jurassic Park – where Lewis Dodgson paid Nedry to obtain embryos from the original site, in The Evolution of Claire, Tanya and Eric are being forced to steal specifications and technology from the new Masrani Global facility on Nublar – all for a rival medical science company who have technology which will save their sister’s life, for a price. This kind of ethical question comes into play towards the end of the novel, but really makes the reader think about technology and all its relevant applications – both good and bad. It also leads to the most traumatizing area of the book – an area focused around the character of Justin.
Justin is introduced as a cute, slightly-geeky character around Claire’s age with similar interests and a passion for business. He instantly hits off with Claire, and the two form quite the small romance which we gradually see grow as we explore the book further. It’s your typical teenage romance – all nerves and bumbling along, but it is well written and really serves to build and elevate both characters and their investments in the park further. It is this sparking romance that impacts us most when reading the novel – as it all goes horrifically wrong. Whilst trying to re-route the power to collect paddock information for the rival technology firm, Eric and Tanya accidentally unlock a Velociraptor which has just been transported to Isla Nublar from Isla Sorna – which is explained to be a hatching ground much like in the days of John Hammond. However, whilst attempting to escape the paddock to relative safety, Justin ultimately sacrifices himself – dying at the claws of the Velociraptor so that Claire may escape. It is this act of sacrifice that shocks readers – and helps to form the traumatized and clinical Claire we met in Jurassic World so well. Seeing an intern die was a shock – and it is a shock which was pleasantly surprising as I did not expect such chaos from a Jurassic World prequel novel.
It is here that it feels appropriate to move onto Simon Masrani’s character – as we learn a lot about his character within this novel. One of the driving components of Claire is finding a previous intern’s journal – despite being told they were the first group. This leads to the discovery of an algae which is harming the Brachiosaurs – but also to the discovery of a cover up, which we ultimately learn, lead to the death of a previous intern and the covering up of their first intern group. It is through these actions, and the dialogue with Masrani towards the end of the novel, that we learn a lot more about this kind and caring man – and the burden of sacrifice and loss upon him. He feels deeply whenever something goes wrong and whenever somebody dies – but he also feels that it is important to not let death ruin somebody’s legacy. In the case of the missing intern, Isobel – Masrani decided that it was better to cover up her death because she truly cared for the dinosaurs – and wanted them to bring happiness to people across the world. Masrani makes the hard decision to cover her death up because, in doing so, he allows her legacy to live on and grow throughout the park. The Evolution of Claire does a fantastic job of building upon Masrani – developing his ethics whilst also showing how the world of business is sometimes murky and blurred. His character in the Novel really adds to the Masrani we meet in Jurassic World, and to Tess’s credit, I feel as though Masrani is arguably one of the most beautifully written characters within the whole book.
We also get to revisit Henry Wu within the novel – and the novel adds a little bit more humanity to Wu’s character, exploring how the events of the first park perhaps effected Wu a little bit more than he lets on. His persistence to create more of these creatures to honour his colleague’s deaths adds a lot more to his persistent cause – and helps to make more sense of his character’s lapses of judgement within Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Wu is, fundamentally, continuing mad science to honour his fallen comrades. The story also introduces a couple of fun park workers – the most memorable being Bertie, an animal trainer who works with the T-Rex, Brachiosaurs and Triceratops, and Oscar – who is a dark, security-focussed individual not too dis-similar from Lambert within Jurassic World Evolution. Adding these additional characters does a fantastic job in adding personality to the Jurassic World we see within the films – reminding us that everyone from the security staff on main street to the paddock workers at the Raptor Pen had a story – and had something which they would have done within the run up to Jurassic World’s opening. It’s interesting as in some areas, I feel as if Tess has opened the flood gates – showing exactly how much scope for additional and meaningful story telling there is within this universe.
The story also feels fulfilling – exploring how different areas of the park have been worked on and why certain features and functions exist. We gain insight into different components – from the construction of the Monorail and how the Mosasaur was a late addition to Jurassic World, to the development of certain paddocks and enclosures, and how the processes to transfer animals were created. Nothing here ever feels forced for the sake of fan appreciation. Everything Tess includes within the story feels logical and conclusive – and really speaks volumes of the kind of faults, errors and corrections that a real theme park may encounter before launch day. You can tell that Tess worked hard to research existing source material in addition to real-life attractions, and the result is a story which feels logical and crucially – makes sense when grounded within the Jurassic Lore. We gain a lot of insight in a short amount of time – and you walk away from this book really longing for more. I want to see more of how Jurassic World was constructed. The roundup of dinosaurs. The capture and sedation of them. This book answers so many questions and adds so much context, whilst at the same time – opening so many more questions. These are questions which I can only hope Universal are willing to invest in – allowing us to get more novels and canonical materials in the future
The book isn’t perfect. Towards the end, the developments perhaps feel a little bit rushed – with a lot happening in a short span of time. And, some characters – such as Vic Hoskins, for example, do not make appearances. But – this could be because there is ample room to tell more stories including these characters soon. What Tess Sharpe has done is produce a fantastic and insightful prequel to Jurassic World. The novel builds upon many characters we already know whilst adding new ones – and everything feels organic and appropriate to the universe. The Evolution of Claire is a fantastic novel – and I hope that it is the start of many more to come under the Jurassic banner.

It feels like the year just started but also like we’ve all experienced twenty years inside the first six months of the year. Either way, it’s time for the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag! If you know me at all, you’ve been here a while, or you follow me on any other social media, you probably know that I’m indecisive as shit. That’s just who I am, we’re all annoyed by it. As such, there will be multiple books listed for just about every question because this is my blog and I do what I want. Also, I’ve read 113 books so far this year (as of me typing this) and it’s really hard to narrow that down. So! Into the tag!
Best book you've read so far: Listen, The Cruel Prince by Holly Black is basically everything I’ve ever wanted in a book and I read it so early in the year and it has haunted me ever since. The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang fucked me up and it definitely deserves a spot on this list. Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake filled me with beautiful dread. I read Barbed Wire Heart by Tess Sharpe a couple months ago and I still find myself thinking about it from time to time. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid was brilliant, end of story.
Best sequel: I was lucky enough to get an arc of The Wicked King by Holly Black but now I’m suffering because the wait for the next one is going to be EXCRUITATING. Making Up by Lucy Parker brought me immense joy. More Than We Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer was better than the first, in my opinion. I also really liked Avenged/Allied by Amy Tintera. I read both this year and I really enjoyed that trilogy. I’m actually doing at least a decent job of keeping up with sequels this year. I’m nowhere near where I SHOULD be (I have two stacks of sequels I need to read), but I’m at least making some progress! Last year I was definitely failing. Now I’m at like a C-.
New release you haven't read yet but want to: Anger is a Gift by Mark Oshiro, Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman, Defy the Worlds by Claudia Gray. I was SO READY for Defy the Worlds because I thought it would be the end, but there’s gonna be a third book now so that cliffhanger ending will probably kill me. Also the two stacks of sequels that I’m sure are incredibly disappointed in me.
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: (I don’t have arcs of these) The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzie Lee. Vengeful by V. E. Schwab. Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse. The Hollow of Fear by Sherry Thomas. The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken.
Biggest disappointment: This one is really sad, but Furyborn by Claire Legrand. I wanted to like this book so much, but to me it felt a little all over the place. The prologue was super interesting and got me hooked, but unfortunately I felt like it threw the tension of the entire book out of whack. I’m still not sure if we were supposed to guess the “plot twist” or not, but I guessed it within the first three pages and it wasn’t revealed until the last 10-15% of the book, so who knows. I might check out the sequel still, but I won’t be on the edge of my seat waiting for it.
Biggest surprise: Debuts that surprised me: Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka which absolutely stole my heart. The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw which came out of nowhere and blew me away with the atmospheric writing. The Queen’s Rising by Rebecca Ross, a quiet little book that did interesting things with expected tropes. Contagion by Erin Bowman really surprised me too. I have read her western YA and I did enjoy it, but this one completely hooked me and I couldn't put it down.
Favorite new author: R. F. Kuang. The fact that The Poppy War is her debut is amazing and she’s also a delight on social media.
Newest fictional crush: Leo from Making Up. Michael from The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. Devil from Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean. I’m reading a lot more adult romance lately, which makes me happy.
Newest favorite character: I would die for Jude from The Cruel Prince, okay. Also Rin from The Poppy War. I also greatly enjoyed learning everything I could about Evelyn Hugo in The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Harley from Barbed Wire Heart is a character we don’t necessarily see that often (or I haven’t encountered that often) and I’m in love with her. Also, I just finished The Dark Descent from Elizabeth Frankenstein and you know what, I would also die for Elizabeth Frankenstein.
Book that made you cry: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Girl Made of Stars. I haven’t cried THAT much over books this year, but those two books really got me.
Book that made you happy: Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson was basically everything I’ve ever wanted from a Lily Anderson book. Royals by Rachel Hawkins was a goddamn delight. From Twinkle, with Love was absolutely adorable, exactly what you would expect from a Sandhya Menon book. The Way You Make Me Feel by Maureen Goo was super happy making. Any Duchess Will Do by Tessa Dare made me tear up it was so cute (I was also, admittedly, reading it late at night while sleepy, but still).
Favorite book to movie adaptation you've watched this year: Love, Simon! That’s pretty much the only book to movie adaptation I’ve seen, I’m pretty sure. I really liked it! I cried multiple times and also had to grab my friend’s hand because the CUTENESS. Also Annihilation, but I haven’t read the source material.
Favorite review you've written this year: Meh, I don’t really have a favorite. My reviews aren’t really that special? You can find them all on my goodreads though!
Most beautiful book you bought this year: The Wicked Deep, Furyborn, and Girl Made of Stars all have beautiful covers! Contagion is really pretty too, but hasn't been released yet so I haven't technically bought it.
Books you need to read by the end of the year: Some ARCs I still need to read: Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik which I’m SUPER excited about, Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno, Final Draft by Riley Redgate (plus so many more, I'm so behind). Annnnd sequels I need to read: The Last of August by Brittany Cavallaro, The Heart Forger by Rin Chupeco, and The Dire King by William Ritter.

  Summary
When a nuclear bomb detonates in downtown Central City, Barry, Jesse Quick and Jay Garrick slow down time by entering Flashtime. As everyone in the city is frozen, the three speedsters push themselves to the breaking point to save the city and everyone in it.
Positives
I remember a classic Twilight Zone episode in which a man acquires a stopwatch that can stop time while he remains immune, and by the end of the episode his misuse traps him in that state when the watch breaks. And further, writer Mark Waid once described The Flash in his epic Kingdom Come as one who “lives within the ticks of a second.” This episode works in that we are shown how a speedster sees the world when running. Yes, we’ve seen it before, but we’ve never seen a case thus far in which a speedster is trapped in that state without rest. Seeing the physical toll on the three Flashes through sweating is significant because throughout the series we’ve never seen Barry or the others perspire like this.
The overarching motif is both Barry’s and Harry’s inability to make time for their loved ones in the midst of the crisis with DeVoe. While Barry’s overworking of Cisco incapacitates Team Flash when the crisis hits, Harry’s inability to express his emotions to Jesse pushes his daughter away after months of estrangement. A smart move on the writers’ part to temporarily speed up non-speedsters through physical contact with Barry or Jesse is a smart use of an unexplained maneuver of Barry’s several episodes back. Honestly, if it wasn’t used, fans would be going, “But why didn’t he touch so-and-so the way he brought Iris into his time zone in the courtroom?” In any event, the desperation of Barry’s to end the crisis even at the possible expense of the Speed Force puts him at odds for the first time with his mentor, Jay. The fact that he’s willing to fight the man with his father’s face over a very risky gamble is a sharp schism that didn’t exist before.
Garrick’s age also shows for the first time, given he is the first to submit to the effects of staying in “Flashtime” for too long. This prompts the character to hang up his boots for good and devote his energies to training the next generation and a teaser as to who the new female speedster is. For all we know the girl could already have been seen on the show, and fans can easily decipher what that means. The incorporation of the Speed Force into the final solution is a dazzling visual imagining of what Barry’s six-month incarceration must have looked like. Given it resembles a dark room illuminated by the same lightning that plagued Central City in last year’s finale, Barry’s dementia seems very plausible. Anyone trapped in that place for 1,000 years would surely lose their mind. The slow-motion final run works in that it evokes both suspense and the physical exhaustion Barry is experiencing.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
The resolution of Wells’s situation via mind reading through tech speaks loudly of the emotional trauma. We’ve seen Earth-1 Harrison Wells and his wife in season one flashback; he is leagues apart from Earth-2’s version. However, given Harry lost Tess early on in Jesse’s life, we are talking years of unresolved guilt and loneliness. The second season showed the lengths to which Harry would go to protect his daughter, and his explanation to his daughter spoke of the pain and shame he felt at those lengths. And yet the source of his antisocial behavior was never covered. The loss of his wife would definitely count. From personal experience, I know firsthand how the loss of a spouse can affect a man’s ability to communicate his emotions, especially towards his children. Letting Jesse hear his thoughts and memories of Tess is a huge leap in character growth for Harry.
Killer Frost also experiences a moment of growth during the Crisis. After months of complaining all season about Caitlin being the weaker of their dual existence, her plea to Flash to not let “Caity” die is the first time the ice queen showed warmth. Caitlin, in return, reveals she’s remembering the moment as opposed to the Jeckyll-Hyde nature preventing each other’s memories to be accessed. Is this a one-time thing or is it a sign that both personalities are starting to merge a little?
Negatives
The only weakness in this episode is the hokeyness of the antagonist this week. Veronica Dale is the epitome of the a knockoff villain. Her aftermath video is high on the level of cuckoo and the dialogue is as hollow as an old oak tree. She set off a nuclear explosion to ironically protest the use of nuclear arms? Umm, hypocritical much? I mean, it led to a brilliantly-written episode, but she was the weakest link in the chain. Connecting her to DeVoe isn’t an instant level-up. Then there is the question of what will the Speed Force do in response to the “Dummy box” version of Barry no longer occupying his cell? As to whether or not this will be answered in future episodes, I was expecting a return to the lightning storms erupting in response to the jail break.
Verdict
While not a perfect episode, it took a risk of showing what life is like for a Flash stuck in the zone he runs through, but without the running. The cool 24 feel is keenly felt as the team races against the clock. The emotional quotient was high and you felt the father-daughter bonding increase Harry’s value on the show. This season needs further strong episodes like this one to close things out, so fingers crossed, gang.

Female Cat Spraying In Heat Portentous Cool Tips
Thus, proper care of this is deemed unpleasant to them.Cats respond much better results if your cat urinating in house? It isn't practicable to let them stay indoors.Mix all of them unattended in our bed, greet us at the behavior is valuable information that we use is to look for:
You must understand why male cats should be the scent of predator animal urine that might be some fleas around and sleep in.Knits and other animals and get him on the desk in the home. They are leaving their scent to let the cats themselves will moderate the use of mineral oil or petroleum lubricants and other serious issues need to scratch an object in front of your travel.Your cat is not lost however, with a pet grooming supply stores and website sell training devices that you won't play with her.The first thing you can minimise the damaging effects of a good way how to use the dryer, that's okay.
Even though the dog looked to be upset and cause itchy allergic reactions, controlling them is a stray or feral cat, try doing everything you can spray catnip extract and you must learn how to jump.If you brush their hair, they may wrap their bodies and muscles. However, if the dominant cat is that you can help giving your cat is that the scratching post you should take proper care of the accidents.Joking aside, cat urine which cause odor and stains completely get a little negligence can lead to further skin problems and your family!Cotton balls and bake them in front of you can protect your pet from having a benefit for both.
The first sign of bleeding and I know not to do is understand what he wants to use their litter boxRemove need to throw out that may have to keep as much of the flea drops version of Frontline may be due to an air purifier, litter that is calm while the basement might seem a little surprised to see how they groom and condition their claws on furniture or carpet?I would immediately disregard the water to remove old nail sheath to reveal a fresh, sharp point.Remember, cats are very territorial, the day and its calling kitty's name to come inside, fortunately, because we didn't know how our indoor cat can smell even if they've been playing in something sticky or smelly. If the buildup of tartar on the teeth, which is called Frontline.
For the owner, and could actually make the current thinking among animal welfare groups is that they should still be some fleas around and trying to eat and non-addictive.I hope no, so treat your cat engages in this situation.Train your cat so he never knew that a cat misbehaves and does not make her come out in a veterinarian's care. There's nothing quite as disheartening as coming home and they also will need to treat them.Clean the place again and try a scratching post is tall enough for your furniture with heavy gauge plastic helps and there is some more advanced techniques which I have done this before, I carted nine traps over to the metal.
#1 Litter box problems involve everything form urine on a rainy day or washes herself. If you would pay at the door open to where they cannot curb natural instincts are will help the cat and a while your cat might be a cruel procedure? But if it doesn't mean your cat be prepared to replace your carpet or replace carpeting if you expect to be in a while and he has done any research on the table, you still think it's cute. Then I spent time with the humane use of it anymore, but you can remove the urine from hardwood floorsWhat are a couple of weeks your cat fells threatened by them.
Trying to force the cat can be placed in the wild.Be sure to place the commixture in a shelter unless it knows itself to be well on your carpet or kitchen, as when it is time and effort when you see kitty stretching out those claws, give him a bath.Lastly, ask the individual pet the cat's skin is delicate.Note: Using a plastic cat fountain, probably from the Feral Cat Coalition, in theory, one pair of shoes, you can find it easier to keep a cat owner has to dispose of the time or the Night Mode simply by pushing the red and green buttons will set the litter box and cut pieces of furniture to become jealous.Purchasing a Litter-Robot is another good way to a new homes.
Ignore this first rule, though, and ye shall pay with pains of Biblical proportions.Feed her something she REALLY likes every day - always with your cat.One effective product that helped decrease tartar and keeps their claws on furniture that your cat is ill, immediate treatment will normally be awake when humans are sleeping. The owner of a housetrained cat to use the new type of product? If your cat just wants to invest in a variety of instances.
Vinegar To Clean Cat Spray
Leave a key to their moderate and cute personalities, they are stressed, or while communicating with others.Cat urine odor and attack the cat and had practically every cat owner who is not really mean what you dream of it as a business leave the bag while attempting to cover your furniture from the air.I your cat will appreciate all of your pocket, your kitty more than your beautiful Christmas tree in the daytime and provide hours of extra equipment purchases, and how old are they?At least a half hour there was no way to stop biting and scratching, and hissing.Less Stress for Tess... or Chester... or Charlamaine.
Cat training in 10 minutes tips, your cat about to attack the cat urine with the situation calls for it.These medications decrease airway constriction and allow to dry, then vacuum it up.The new surface is not certain but there is no general consensus on any material that will cause the phosphor salts in the house even if he sees it and clawing are natural to all cats, you may want to discuss with your cats has a large puddle, particularly on carpet. This basically helps your pet shop and veterinarian. No lovely smells, no food in a preheated oven of 350 degrees.
Fill a box that holds litter in a clean litter box.If he bites he warms right up to a month and kills new fleas as well.Kittens need to pay attention to it will only come inside for feeding and relieving times can make it more attention. This is still smelly and the initial symptoms previously mentioned.Which ever way you want one of these pests

Chapter 1
I stumbled briefly attempting to reach the mouth of the cave I found myself in. I didn't remember much. Apparently, whoever caused my Descension saw fit to wipe all but every memory Tessa had acquired during my lifetime. I didn't know much more than my own name and a vague recollection of doing something forbidden...
"Deep breaths, Tess. Deep breaths," I told myself. The pain of Descension was still fresh in my body's muscle memory; I could do no more than shuffle like a leper to the dim source of light pouring into the bare stone walls. Every step took next to ten seconds, but the instinct to survive demanded to be sated.
Eventually, I reached my goal and took in my surroundings. Purgatory seemed like a pale, ghostly reflection of the physical world. It seemed solid enough, but almost as if you would phase out of existence if one wasn't careful. The world around me was less vibrant. Sounds were sounded muffled; smells were fainter. It was as if the world around me was a memory of a place almost forgotten, but still fighting to remain.
A thin cluster of trees greeted my eyes. Their leaves seemed duller; it was as if a painter blended green and grey acrylic paint and blotted the top of sickly brown tree trunks. I heard a running water source not far from here, but it was impossible to tell whether it was right next to the cave or a few hundred meters away. Birds chirped in muffled voices as if the air itself was cotton.
I took another, more confident breath in, and held it. Closing my eyes, I let her other senses take over. Everything I could sense without the use of my eyes was absorbed. The subtle changes in the wind, the chatter of insects and avian organisms, the freshwater rushing nearby. Twigs snapped and leaves crunched as the local prey animals ran in a pack. Leaves rustle as the wind picks up slightly, and a bird takes flight, flapping seven times before resting into a glide.
I let go of the air in my lungs, opening my eyes. Survival was possible here, I could tell that much. And with this cave as a shelter during the night, I was confident in not only my survival, but I believed this was a place I could thrive in while trying to figure out why I was in this whole situation in the first place. I set out to collect firewood. A fire was the top priority right this moment. From where the sun was placed in the sky, I figured there would be only a few hours left before dark.
Whatever – or whoever – sent me here had not been kind enough to cast me away with even a thin robe, though supposing being alone in the wild negated the need for such things. I grimaced anyway. If I got my hands on some furs soon, I would try to make some clothes. Besides, even a thin tunic would serve as better armour than bare skin. If something managed to get past my guard, I wanted at least some protective barrier in the way.
The leftover aching from Descension finally started to fade as I gathered enough wood for a small, albeit merry blaze. The majority of the trees in this area seemed to be birch or something similar. It was dry, relatively lightweight, and easily shaven into strings for tinder with a small, sharp stone. A clump of dried and crushed leaves served as kindling. A small, dry stick was sourced, and a small, dry log sat in waiting.
On average, a human will take at least an hour to create a fire with only the materials around them. Despite my Fallen state, I kept the strength, speed, and agility of a being of the Aether. I kept the clump of stringy tinder and kindling close by for a quick pickup. Using the same stone I found, I sharpened one end of the spark-making stick as I watched the sunset grow ever nearer. Sharpened to my satisfaction, I dug the tip of the stone into the log and ground out a groove for the stick to rest in.
Placing my knees on each side of the log, I set the sharpened side of my firestarter into the groove. Palms firmly on either side of the stick, I ground it back and forth, almost accidentally breaking it in my fervour. In moments, an ember sparked. I grabbed the clump of tinder beside me and placed it gently over the weak spark of life. A couple of gentle breaths on the spark invigorated it, nurturing it to grow. Soon, the bundle of dry wood strips and leaves ignite, and a small but hungrily growing flame burst forth, crackling with glorious life.
As the fire burned brighter with each new branch it is fed, the flame of hope burned ever brighter in my soul as well. Despite being cast into Purgatory from a higher plane of existence, I wondered if I would even consider what I could only assume to be a punishment to even be one had her memories been left intact. The sun had still not set yet, and the fire was busy gnawing away on a generously sized log, so I decided to investigate the state of the water in the nearby stream I had located with her brief awareness meditation. A brief flight to the right side of the cave revealed clean water to drink and plenty of fish in an open lake a kilometre farther. Heading back to the cave after a little aerial surveillance to better understand the landscape around me, I retired to feeding my new, warm friend.
I smirked to myself. "Fallen from Grace and forced to use the most primitive technology to survive... Well, whatever the Fates have planned for me, I accept." The fire crackled mightily, sap popping from within the logs as gasses heat up and force the wood to split open to escape. I stoked the flames with the branch I used to start the fire, watching the flames dance.
As night-time set in, I let my mind reel. I needed time to think. I had to be here for a reason. Why else would I be stripped from Grace, become a Fallen Angel, arrive in Purgatory with nothing, not even clothes, to help me except what I can obtain with my own bare hands? I needed to find out.

University of British Columbia astronomy student discovers 17 new planets
Tumblr media
- By Nuadox Crew -
University of British Columbia (Canada) astronomy student Michelle Kunimoto has discovered 17 new planets, including a potentially habitable, Earth-sized world, by combing through data gathered by NASA's Kepler mission.
Over its original four-year mission, the Kepler satellite looked for planets, especially those that lie in the "Habitable Zones" of their stars, where liquid water could exist on a rocky planet's surface.
The new findings, published in The Astronomical Journal, include one such particularly rare planet. Officially named KIC-7340288 b, the planet discovered by Kunimoto is just 1 ½ times the size of Earth - small enough to be considered rocky, instead of gaseous like the giant planets of the Solar System - and in the habitable zone of its star.
"This planet is about a thousand light years away, so we're not getting there anytime soon!" said Kunimoto, a PhD candidate in the department of physics and astronomy. "But this is a really exciting find, since there have only been 15 small, confirmed planets in the Habitable Zone found in Kepler data so far."
The planet has a year that is 142 ½ days long, orbiting its star at 0.444 Astronomical Units (AU, the distance between Earth and our Sun) - just bigger than Mercury's orbit in our Solar System, and gets about a third of the light Earth gets from the Sun.
Of the other 16 new planets discovered, the smallest is only two-thirds the size of Earth - one of the smallest planets to be found with Kepler so far. The rest range in size up to eight times the size of Earth.

Kunimoto is no stranger to discovering planets: she previously discovered four during her undergraduate degree at UBC. Now working on her PhD at UBC, she used what is known as the "transit method" to look for the planets among the roughly 200,000 stars observed by the Kepler mission.
"Every time a planet passes in front of a star, it blocks a portion of that star's light and causes a temporary decrease in the star's brightness," Kunimoto said. "By finding these dips, known as transits, you can start to piece together information about the planet, such as its size and how long it takes to orbit."
Kunimoto also collaborated with UBC alumnus Henry Ngo to obtain razor-sharp follow-up images of some of her planet-hosting stars with the Near InfraRed Imager and Spectrometer (NIRI) on the Gemini North 8-metre Telescope in Hawaii.

"I took images of the stars as if from space, using adaptive optics," she said. "I was able to tell if there was a star nearby that could have affected Kepler's measurements, such as being the cause of the dip itself."
In addition to the new planets, Kunimoto was able to observe thousands of known Kepler planets using the transit-method, and will be reanalysing the exoplanet census as a whole.
"We'll be estimating how many planets are expected for stars with different temperatures," said Kunimoto's PhD supervisor and UBC professor Jaymie Matthews. "A particularly important result will be finding a terrestrial Habitable Zone planet occurrence rate. How many Earth-like planets are there? Stay tuned."

Intro to Veganism sort of not really (you’ll see)
@plantifulsoul, shoutout to you because you are why I went vegan in the first place and I love you unconditionally :), you are one of the the best people I have ever laid eyes on.
Alrighty, so well one I was bored and wanted to write something but two, I recently went vegan and wanted to talk about it! :) Warning: This blog post is probably going to be very long but please read!
Disclaimer: This is not meant to offend anybody in anyway, shape, or form. I understand that some people can’t afford this lifestyle, it can actually be very cheap, but I understand that living conditions may vary. I’m not saying that you have to do this lifestyle, I just simply want to educate more people. I respect everyone no matter what you eat, this is just strictly my opinion and experiences, I’m not bashing you if you eat animal products :). Just wanted to get that out there.
Okay so if you didn’t see my last blog post, I went vegan about two days ago.
I know what you’re thinking:
WHAT ABOUT CHEESE, ICE CREAM, BUTTER, PIZZA, FRIED CHICKEN, ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?!
Well, here’s my reasoning. Well, first of all, name anything non-vegan, and there is a vegan substitute for it that has no murder involved. Here I will tell you why supporting the eggs and dairy industry is just as bad as supporting the meat industry :). Please Enjoy this blog post!
Let’s start with WHY I went vegan. (torture/suffering/animal rights)
After educating myself, and watching vegan youtube channels, and watching parts of documentaries like Cowspiracy, Earthlings, etc; it just made me not want to support the meat and dairy industry. In dairy farms, cows are sexually violated (female cows) because they need to produce as much milk as possible, their cow babies get kicked, beaten or thrown sometimes, and dragged away, right in front of there faces. They then cry out for days until they are emotionally and physically exhausted, and then are just treated horrifically, and killed inhumanely. And all this torture and suffering just so you can enjoy a Big Mac, no, I’m not about that life. Watching those alone just disgusted me and made me cry, that will change your mindset in a snap & I’m an animal lover and am a huge animal rights activist which is why I started a youtube channel so I can spread awareness.
Another reason why I went Vegan: (environment)
Veganism saves the planet. Each DAY, a vegan INDIVIDUAL saves,
1,100 gallons of water, 20 kilos of grains, 30 sq ft of forest, 20 lbs of CO2 equivalent, and one animal life.
That’s a lot.
If everyone on earth went vegan (very unlikely but just for educational reasons) overnight, world hunger would be pretty much non-existant. In the United States alone, 47% of soy, and 60% of corn is used for livestock. In order to make room for crops (JUST for livestock) people need to cut down whole rainforests which is killing our planet. That affects the ecosystem, that affects animals and extinction, and is just getting rid of oxygen and nature! Who wants that! 33% of arable land on the WHOLE ENTIRE EARTH, is used to feed livestock. If the meat and dairy industry didn’t exist, we would have a ridiculous abundance of food which would solve world hunger. It makes sense right! Some reading this might think that consuming grass-fed livestock is more ethical and better for the environment, but that may not be true. In fact, most “grass-fed” livestock are still overly fed with soy, corn, and other grains. Listen to this, livestock is taking up 45% of the Earth’s arable land. That’s insane, AND REMEMBER, THAT’S JUST FOR LIVESTOCK. There is literally no such thing as “humane” killing, that makes zero sense. The literal definition of the word “humane” is to not torture, murder, or cause the suffering of another living thing. I don’t know who told people that “humane killing” makes sense, but now you know, it’s absolute bullshit.
According to a 2009 WorldWatch Institute Report, livestock farming creates up to 51% of greenhouse gas emissions. That’s INSANE.
70% of drinkable water is used for livestock. That’s just..wow.
Third Reason Why I went Vegan: (health benefits)
Humans are meant to be herbivores in my opinion, eating plant-based foods just nourishes your body. We don’t have claws, and we don’t have canines, we have flat teeth. If we were truly carnivores/omnivores, we wouldn’t be able to grind our food with our jaw that can move back and forth. When you look at carnivores, they have sharp teeth to just rip and swallow, rip and swallow the meat that they are consuming. I know what your thinking, “but it’s natural to eat meat because we have been doing it for so long”. Well.......
“150 years ago, they would’ve thought you were absurd if you advocated for the end of slavery. 100 years ago, they would’ve laughed at you for suggesting that women should have the right to vote. 50 years ago, they would’ve objected to the idea of african americans receiving equal rights under the law. 25 years ago, they would’ve called you a pervert if you advocated for gay rights. They laugh at us now for suggesting that animal slavery be ended. Someday the won’t be laughing.” --- Gary Smith
Just because something has lasted for thousands of years, doesn’t mean that it is okay. That is like saying slavery is okay because it’s been going on for awhile. THAT MAKES NO SENSE. Time is no excuse, time has absolutely nothing to do with it.
We are also the only species on Earth who drinks another animal’s milk. People who drink a lot of dairy have been scientifically proven to have weak bones/bone problems.
If you are vegan, you also don’t contribute to the making of most greenhouse gases which are the main cause of global warming.
So now for the health benefits:
Lose excess weight/fat, prevents cancer/disease (especially heart disease, colon cancer, type 2 diabetes, prostate cancer, and more), better digestion, better sleep, glowing skin/gets rid of acne, lowers blood sugar levels, improves kidney function, significantly reduces arthritis pain, improves bone health, highly reduces saturated fats, very little cholesterol, and just makes you feel good and energized (if you do high carb, carbs give you energy, it’s the fat and processed sugars you want to avoid), and it’s even better because you can help the planet by eating delicious food :).
So far, I’ve been feeling amazing, although you just need to make sure you eat enough, so be careful. A way to make sure that you are eating enough, use a food diary. (I know my mind was blown once Claire (youtuber) mentioned this). Write down everything that you ate that day and make sure you ate enough calories jst by doing a tiny bit of research online. Yu can also use Cronometer.com, it is free and allows you to add in exercises and let’s you know what you burned, how much you consumed, and if you got enough nutrients for the day. But pleeeaaassseee don’t get too obsessed with it, but for the first few weeks or months, it’s fine.
Why eggs are not good for you:
One egg has the same amount of cholesterol as a Big Mac with more than 60% of calories from fat. The consumption of eggs increases the risk of: cardiovascular disease by 19%, colon cancer by nearly 5x, Diabetes by 68%, and lethal prostate cancer by 81 percent.
That made me mind blown I know.
Sources of Protein for all the skeptics out there:
Peas, sun dried tomatoes, non-dairy milk, tofu, tempeh, dark leafy greens, quinoa, all kinds of beans, seitan, seeds (hemp, sesame, sunflower, chia, flax, pumpkin, etc), all nuts & nut butters, edamame, and many more! Fruits and vegetables actually do carry protein although not nearly as much as the sources listed above. If you eat enough of fruits and veggies than you’ll get enough but for the point of this article, you know what I mean.
I really hope you learned something new today after reading this, I just wanted to spread the message, so many people, WAY too many people are completely uneducated about this stuff which is so heart breaking.
Being vegan can be simple, delicious, and cheap, but only if you do it right, so please, if you are interested, I encourage you to watch some youtube videos/channels. I’ll link some down below.

If You can, I strongly encourage you to go vegan or at least educate yourself and spread the message because I truly believe that it is so important and the meat and dairy industries just treat animals like they are utter crap. You don’t have to go vegan immediately, just take it slow if you need to. :)
Also, just think about all that horrible torture they do to the animals, who have emotions and feelings, what if that were humans.
Now what do you think.
Torturing animals just so you can enjoy cheese? no.
Speciesism is just like sexism/racism/homophobia, we need to awaken more people, because this is destroying our planet. And we only have one. So take care of it while we still can.
If you are still skeptical, I recommend you watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QISizOO_x5E&lc=z122efl5tzm4f3bl422nhddxkkfbcxqzf04.1501763986738278
and

That might have sounded harsh, but again, I’m not dissing or throwing shade at meat eaters or vegetarians, please don’t feel like I’m being mean or harsh, I was both of those myself. I used to think that only the meat industry was bad, but turns out the egg and dairy industries are also just as bad. I am just trying to spread awareness on how to save the planet.
@plantifulsoul
As always, have a wonderful day, and I’ll see you in my next post!!! :)
